French Defense Minister Says 'Major Risk' of IS Crossing in to Europe with Libya Refugees.

French Defense Minister Says 'Major Risk' of IS Crossing in to Europe with Libya Refugees. (Naharnet).

Islamic State fighters hiding among refugees traveling from Libya to Italy pose a "major risk" to Europe, French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Sunday.

Le Drian said there was an "urgent" need for a political solution to the crisis in Libya to help combat the spread of the Islamic State group (IS), which now has several thousand fighters in the North African country.

"Daesh is installing itself," Le Drian told French TV, using the Arabic acronym for the IS group.
"I have been very worried about Libya since September 2014. They are there, nearly 300 kilometers from the coast, and they are spreading."

He said that put IS only 350 kilometers from the Italian island of Lampedusa, the arrival point for thousands of migrants and refugees leaving Libya for the European Union.

"When good weather comes to the Mediterranean, there is the risk that (IS fighters) could make the crossing, mixing in with refugees. It's a major risk," said Le Drian. Read the full story here.

Iran to construct Two new Nuclear power plants in Bushehr soon: Salehi.

Iran to construct Two new Nuclear power plants in Bushehr soon: Salehi. (IranFrontPage).

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi says the Islamic Republic is set to begin the construction of two more nuclear power plants in the southern city of Bushehr soon, Press TV reports.

In the construction of nuclear power plants, as I have already stated, we hopefully, within the next few months, will be witnessing the launching of new reactors. Activities are going on and they are expanding even in some areas,” Salehi said in an exclusive interview with Press TV on Saturday.
He added that Iran and Russia have signed agreements for the construction of “two big reactors in Bushehr.”
In November 2014, Tehran and Moscow struck a deal to build eight more nuclear power plants in Iran.

Russia has already built a power plant in Bushehr. The agreement for Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was finalized in 1995, but the project was delayed several times due to a number of technical and financial issues.

The 1,000-megawatt plant, which is operating under the full supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), reached its maximum power generation capacity in August 2012.
In September 2013, Iran officially took over from Russia the first unit of its first 1,000-megawatt nuclear power plant for two years.

Salehi said the recognition of Iran’s enrichment activities by the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, was “one very good achievement” within a nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries, dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

We are one among the very few or probably the very exceptional countries that its enrichment activity has been recognized by an international body such as the UN Security Council,” the AEOI head said, adding, “One of the achievements within this framework is the fact that we were able to sell or we got this opportunity to sell our enriched uranium and get in return natural uranium or the yellowcake.”

He described JCPOA as a “good deal” that allows Iran to enter the club of countries that can enrich uranium and sell it at global market.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, France, Britain, China and Russia – plus Germany started to implement JCPOA on January 16.

Palestinian Authority staff sergeant shot dead after he shoots and wounds 3 Israeli soldiers.

Palestinian Authority staff sergeant shot dead after he shoots and wounds 3 Israeli soldiers. (MaanNews).

A Palestinian was shot dead after shooting and injuring three Israeli soldiers at an Israeli military checkpoint around the illegal Israeli settlement of Beit El in the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah, witnesses told Ma'an.

Witnesses said a Palestinian vehicle approached the Israeli checkpoint and stopped for inspection. When an Israeli soldier approached the driver's window, the driver opened fire, immediately shooting the soldier.

The driver then shot another two Israeli soldiers, one of which witnesses believed was hit in his flak jacket.

Israeli forces then opened fire, shooting the Palestinian driver dead.

Of the three injured, two are in severe condition, while one was mildly injured, a spokesperson with Israel's emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, said.

The Palestinian driver was latter identified as Amjad Jaser Sukkar, 34, a Palestinian Authority staff sergeant from Nablus. Hours after the shooting, his body was returned to PA forces and is expected to be buried later that day.

The Hamas movement issued a statement on Sunday evening hailing Sukkar's "heroic resistance operation."

This attack showcases the rejection of security coordination with the occupation, even among members of the PA security forces,” Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri was quoted as saying.

Frankfurt-Based Syrian Activist Dr. Malik Fndy: "This Is Why I Support the Islamic State"(MEMRI).

Dr. Malik Fndy, a Syrian from the Dar'a area who lives in Germany, posted a video on the Internet in which he explains his support for the Islamic State (ISIS).

In the video, posted on January 7, Dr. Fndy claims that the Islamic State is the only state to implement Islamic law.

He criticizes Middle Eastern regimes and sub-state entities, calling them "pigs" and accusing them of collaborating with "the infidels."

He accuses Western media of distorting the image of the Islamic State by not publishing their original and complete videos, where the reasoning behind the stoning of a woman or the burning of Jordanian pilot Moaz Kasasbeh, for example, is explained.

Dr. Fndy identifies himself in his social media accounts as a Syrian from Karak, near Dar'a, who moved to Germany to study mathematics at Darmstadt University of Technology.

A 2012 Facebook post by the Coordination Committee of the Syrian Activists in Aid and Media in Germany describes Dr. Fndy as "very active in coordinating demonstrations, responsible for collecting donations for Dar'a, and [with] good media activity."

HNC Spokesman: A 'Scary Retreat' In U.S. Position Has Brought It Closer Than Ever To Russia's, Iran's Positions.

HNC Spokesman: A 'Scary Retreat' In U.S. Position Has Brought It Closer Than Ever To Russia's, Iran's Positions. (Memri).

Indirect talks between the Syrian regime and Syrian opposition are scheduled to commence in Geneva on January 29, 2016. Ahead of these talks, the recently established High Negotiations Committee (HNC),[1] which is charged with nominating the opposition's delegation to the talks and steering the talks on behalf of the opposition, has been heavily pressured to drop its preconditions for beginning the talks, such as ceasing the bombardment of civilians and lifting the siege from areas in Syria.

The HNC is also under pressure to comply with Russian demands to change the makeup of the opposition delegation and allow the participation of oppositionists who are close to Russia and lenient in their positions vis-à-vis the Syrian regime, such as Qadri Jamil and Haytham Manna'.

Most of the pressure on the HNC actually came from the U.S. – which had been expected to support the Syrian opposition and to counterbalance Russia's relentless backing of the Syrian regime. In January 23, 2016, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met in Riyadh with representatives of the HNC and of the opposition delegation.

According to HNC members and according to many reports in the Arab media, at the meeting Kerry strongly pressured on the opposition to accept Russian dictates. HNC members said that Kerry, expressing "a scary retreat in the U.S. position," had threatened that if they did not comply with Russian dictates they would lose the support of their allies; he also clarified that their preconditions for the talks – such as sending in humanitarian aid and lifting the siege from Syrian cities – would be discussed in the talks themselves.

According to HNC members, Kerry told them that Assad had the right to run in the future Syrian elections, that UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura was entitled to intervene in the makeup of the opposition delegation, and that the talks would lead to the establishing of a national unity government. This contravenes the 2012 Geneva I Communique[2] and effectively means leaving the Syrian regime in power.

Recent statements by HNC members, who spoke of a "positive atmosphere," indicate that, in spite of the HNC's sharp criticism of the retreat in the U.S. position, it will likely be compelled to accept the American dictates and allow the participation of additional opposition elements in the talks. Attending the talks will mean accepting the suggested agenda and dropping the precondition of stopping the bombardment of the civilian population and dispatching humanitarian aid.

This document reviews reports on pressures exerted by Kerry on the Syrian opposition and on the opposition's responses to this.

The spokesman of the HNC, Monzer Makhous, said after the January 23 meeting with Kerry that "there has been a scary retreat in the American position," and added:
"Kerry told us today: You must go to Geneva on the terms that have been presented to you, otherwise you will lose the support of your friends and allies." According to Makhous, Kerry and Staffan de Mistura had said even earlier that they supported forming a national unity government, and had instructed the HNC not to speak of Assad's removal or establishing a transitional governing body with full powers. The meaning of this, said Makhous, is that they support Iran's plan and have completely renounced the Geneva I Communique.[3] He added: "The American perception has grown closer to the Iranian-Syrian-Russian position that speaks of forming a national unity government."[4] He noted, however, that the "European friends" took a completely different stance and had had emphasized that "Kerry's statements hold only for the U.S."[5]
An unnamed official in the Syrian opposition told the London-based daily Al-'Arabi Al-Jadid that Kerry's meeting with the HNC representatives was "tragic and very bad," and added: "Kerry relayed clear messages that [originate with the] Russians and Iranians, and threatened that the opposition must obey them... He said that Geneva III would be [a round of] talks, rather than negotiations, and that they would lead to the establishment of a national unity government rather than a transitional governing body... Kerry told the HNC delegation that UN envoy de Mistura was entitled to intervene in the makeup of the opposition delegation and to appoint advisors [to the delegation], and that the confidence-building steps that the opposition was demanding ahead of the Geneva convention, such as releasing prisoners, lifting the siege from Syrian cities, ceasing the bombardment of civilians, and dispatching humanitarian aid, etc., would be part of the Geneva talks [themselves]...

Haytham Al-Maleh, chair of the legal committee of the Syrian National Coalition, which is represented in the HNC, described Kerry as "a distorted copy of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov."[7]

Europol : "10,000 refugee children are missing". (Guardian).

The EU’s criminal intelligence agency warns pan-European gangs are targeting minors for sex work and slavery.

At least 10,000 unaccompanied child refugees have disappeared after arriving in Europe, according to the EU’s criminal intelligence agency. Many are feared to have fallen into the hands of organised trafficking syndicates.

In the first attempt by law enforcement agencies to quantify one of the most worrying aspects of the migrant crisis, Europol’s chief of staff told the Observer that thousands of vulnerable minors had vanished after registering with state authorities.

Brian Donald said 5,000 children had disappeared in Italy alone, while another 1,000 were unaccounted for in Sweden. He warned that a sophisticated pan-European “criminal infrastructure” was now targeting refugees. “It’s not unreasonable to say that we’re looking at 10,000-plus children.

Not all of them will be criminally exploited; some might have been passed on to family members. We just don’t know where they are, what they’re doing or whom they are with.” Hmmm.......And then there's the remote possibility that some are 'Caliphate cubs' who gather at known support addresses. Officials in Trelleborg in southern Sweden have told The Local that around 1,000 unaccompanied refugee children and young adults who have arrived in the town over the last month have since gone missing.

The small coastal town is currently experiencing its biggest influx of refugees to date, with several hundred people turning up every week since the start of September, according to authorities. But out of 1,900 children who have arrived in Trelleborg over the last month without parents or older relatives, at least half are believed to have left the area without alerting officials, despite being given temporary accommodation there.

French Arrest four Hezbollah operatives in Paris on U.S. Arrest warrants.

French Arrest four Hezbollah operatives in Paris on U.S. Arrest warrants. (albawabaeg).

French authorities reportedly detained four Lebanese based on an arrest warrant issued by the United States, local daily As-Safir said Friday.

The newspaper identified the four men as Mohamad Noureddine, Mazen Al-Atat, Ali Zbib and Osama Fahs.

The report said that the French authorities did not inform Lebanese authorities of the arrest until Fahs' relatives in Paris reported him missing to French police. This prompted the latter to contact the Lebanese embassy in the capital to inform it of the detention of four of its nationals.

The daily added that preliminary information disclosed that French authorities had no charges against any of the four men, but it briefed Lebanese authorities on a U.S. arrest warrant issued against them.

Noureddine was targeted in sanctions by the U.S. Treasury Department Thursday, along with another Lebanese Hamdi Zaher, for his alleged activity in money laundering at the behest of Hezbollah.

The department targeted Noureddine and Zaher for providing financial services to Hezbollah, which the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization.

Treasury claims Noureddine has laundered money through his company called Trade Point International S.A.R.L. He is accused of using his network across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East to provide money laundering, bulk cash shipment, black market currency exchange and other financial services to clients, including members of Hezbollah.

The sanctions freeze any assets the two men have under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibit U.S. citizens from doing business with them.

The U.S. has sanctioned more than 100 individuals and entities associated with Hezbollah.

New Report Uncovers 35 Yazidi Mass Graves perpetrated by ISIS Terrorists in Iraq.

New Report Uncovers 35 Yazidi Mass Graves perpetrated by ISIS Terrorists in Iraq. by Matthew Barber.

Yazda is a Yazidi humanitarian and advocacy organization founded after the attempted genocide of the Yazidis by IS on Aug. 3, 2014.

Beginning this past fall, I took a one-year leave of absence from my PhD program at the University of Chicago to serve as Executive Director for Yazda during this period of urgent need. The accompanying responsibilities have unfortunately kept me away from Syria Comment of late.

One of Yazda’s projects is to document the crimes of genocide that were committed against the Yazidi people. Our genocide documentation project focuses on examining physical evidence of mass graves (bones, clothing, grave mounds) while gathering survivor testimonies to corroborate the physical evidence that we find.

Yazda is now issuing a full report on the mass graves in Sinjar, which is available on the Yazda website. VICE News has just published the full report here, and Human Rights Watch and Yazda have released a joint press statement on the urgency of protecting and performing forensic analyses of the mass graves.  Read or download the full report here,

China on Saturday urged U.S. not to undermine mutual trust and regional peace.

China on Saturday urged U.S. not to undermine mutual trust and regional peace. (NewsAcrossChina).

China on Saturday urged the United States to respect and abide by its laws, and not to undermine the mutual trust and regional peace and stability.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying made the remarks as reports said a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer sailed within 12 nautical miles of Zhongjian Dao, Xisha Islands.

According to the China's law on the territorial sea and contiguous zone enacted in 1992, foreign warships entering China's territorial waters must be approved by the Chinese government.

"The U.S. warship violated Chinese law and entered China' s territorial sea without authorization. The Chinese side conducted surveillance and vocal warnings to the U.S. warship," Hua said.

Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun also issued a statement, saying the U.S. act severely violated Chinese law, sabotaged the peace, security and good order of the waters, and undermined the region' s peace and stability. The Defense Ministry is firmly against this, he said.

Yang said China's law on the territorial sea and contiguous zone accords with the international law and practice, and that many other countries have similar laws.

The Chinese government also issued a statement on territorial sea baseline on May 15, 1996, which announced part of the baseline of the territorial sea adjacent to China's mainland and the baseline of the territorial sea adjacent to the Xisha Islands.

"The U.S. side is fully aware of this, yet it still sent its warship into China' s territorial sea without authorization. It is a deliberate provocation," Yang said in the statement.

According to Yang, Chinese troops on the islands and Navy vessels and warplanes took actions immediately. They identified and verified the U.S. warship, warned and expelled it swiftly.

For many years, the U.S. side has proposed measures to ensure navigation safety of ships and aircraft of all parties, but it repeatedly sent vessels and planes into China' s territorial sea and air space regardless of China's opposition, leading to close encounters of navy and air force troops of the two countries, Yang said.

He added that the move on the U.S. side is very unprofessional and irresponsible for the safety of the troops of both sides, and may cause extremely dangerous consequences.

The Chinese armed forces will take whatever measures necessary to safeguard China's sovereignty and security, no matter what provocations the U.S. side may take, Yang said.  More on this story here.

Syrian Kurds Leave Geneva without Peace Talks Invites, say won't commit to any cease fire

Syrian Kurds Leave Geneva without Peace Talks Invites, say won't commit to any cease fire. (Naharnet).

Syrian Kurdish figures hoping to take part in fragile U.N.-brokered peace talks in Geneva have left the Swiss city after not receiving invitations to negotiations, sources told AFP on Saturday.

Saleh Muslim, head of the powerful Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), had traveled to Geneva last week in the hopes his movement would have a seat at the table.

But he and his advisors left Geneva late Friday, a member of his party's team in Switzerland said.
"Yes, we left Geneva because we did not get invitations," the member said, speaking anonymously because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

"We will not commit to any decision that comes out of Geneva, including a ceasefire agreement," he added.

And Ilham Ahmad, the Kurdish co-head of an Arab-Kurdish joint council in Syria, told AFP she had also left the Swiss city on Friday night after not being invited to talks.

"Without us, this process will have the same fate as the last round of Geneva talks" in 2014, the PYD source told AFP.

Russia, which has helped President Bashar Assad's forces regain territory since starting air strikes in late September, also says that the Kurds must take part in any talks.

But the mainstream Syrian opposition body the High Negotiations Committee -- and its Turkish and Saudi backers -- have strongly objected to the PYD's participation. Read the full story here.

Iran - IRGC to Provide Security and 'Air marshals' on New Aircraft.

Iran - IRGC to Provide Security and 'Air marshals' on New Aircraft. (Fars).

Commander of Aviation Security Division at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brig. Gen. Safar Ali Moussavi said his division will begin providing inflight safety and security for the newly-purchased commercial jet airliners.

"The IRGC doesn’t oversee the purchase of any new aircraft. However, it is in charge of inflight security. The division will start its work the moment the new planes are delivered to Iran,” Moussavi said on Saturday.

His remarks came after media reports that Europe's Airbus will deliver 100 passenger planes to Iran within the next four years. The IRGC’s Aviation Security Division is entrusted with inflight security on Iranian commercial airlines, including staying up-to-date with the latest threats to civil aviation, preparing the air marshals and air crew members to respond to in-flight incidents, and implementing in-flight security procedures during exercises.

According to Deputy Commander Colonel Gholamreza Mirzayee, Iran stands among the top world countries in terms of flight security. He said last Saturday that since its establishment in 1984 upon an order by late Imam Khomeini, the founder of Islamic Revolution, at least 126 attempted hijackings and threats have successfully been foiled.

"In the past 31 years, we have had to deal with many flight security incidents. In all these cases, we have managed to either kill, injure or arrest the hijackers. We have also detained several potential hijackers on the ground,” he said. Hmmm......Their 'Air Marshals' would know a thing or two about hijacking planes.

Muslim Brotherhood 'Godfather' Qaradawi Regrets Trying To Reconcile Sunnis & Shiites.

Muslim Brotherhood 'Godfather' Qaradawi Regrets Trying To Reconcile Sunnis & Shiites. HT: GlobalMuslimBrotherhoodReport.

Saudi media is reporting that Global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi has “expressed his regret again over the years he spent trying to reconcile Sunnis and Shiites.” According to the Asharq Al-Awsat report:

The Egyptian preacher Yusuf Al-Qaradawi who is also the President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) expressed his regret again over the years he spent trying to reconcile Sunnis and Shiites.
He launched a sharp attack on Shitte religious authorities and praised Saudi Arabian scholars who realised the true nature of Lebanese Hezbollah’s secretary general early on. He added that the Saudi Arabian scholars were more mature than him with regards to their stance on Shiites
Al-Qaradawi also commented on the deep crisis faced by the Muslim Brotherhood and called on its leaders to hold comprehensive elections at home and abroad to overcome their current crisis.
Al-Qaradawi reposted a clip of himself filmed during a conference to help the Syrian people which was held in Qatar. The clip showed Al-Qaradawi addressing a group of Sunni scholars and religious leaders whilst saying that the idea of rapprochement between sects has worked in favour of the Shiites and that the Sunnis have not benefited from it at all
He added that “after this long period of time I do not see the benefit of rapprochement between Sunnis and Shiites. The Sunnis lose and the Shiites gain.”
In what appears as the most important acknowledgement of the depth of the split in the Muslim Brotherhood’s ranks in Egypt, Al-Qaradawi called the group to hold comprehensive elections in Egypt and abroad to overcome the current crisis facing the Muslim Brotherhood.
He also called on the conflicting parties to stop bickering until elections are held. However, former members of the group played down the importance of Al-Qaradawi’s initiative and told Asharq Al-Awsat that the group’s crisis has exceeded its regulatory limits and argued that the announcement of the initiative itself is a sign of failure. Hmmm.......Someone has a hard time digesting Iran's success.

Turkey Wants Additional $2Bln From EU 'Milk Cow' for Migrant Crisis Management. (SP).

Ankara wants additional 2 billion euros ($2.16 billion at current exchange rates) from the European Union to tackle the migrant crisis, which will almost double the initially agreed sum, media reported on Saturday.

Cooperation of European leaders and Ankara to resolve the refugee crisis has been exposed to new challenges, as Turkey seems to have no limits, demanding more and more money from EU countries, German newspaper Welt wrote.

The Turkish government recently demanded from the EU additional financial assistance to resolve migration crisis, despite the fact that Brussels was ready to provide Ankara with the sum that had been agreed before, the article said.

"Ankara wants to get five billion dollars, but we are ready to provide only the promised three billion," the newspaper quoted a senior EU diplomat as saying.

Moreover, the Turkish Government must understand that Europe may agree on the gradual payment of the promised amount only if it will be able to carefully control the flow of funds received by Ankara, he added. Hmmm,,,,,As i said from day one the EU Will be Turkey's 'milk cow'. Read the full story here.

Two arrests after possible 'Anti Christian riot' in Grande-Synthe refugee camp near Calais.

Two arrests after possible 'Anti Christian riot' in Grande-Synthe refugee camp near Calais. (LeFigaro)[Google translated].

A gunfight broke out in the camp located on the outskirts of Dunkirk on Tuesday night. Five wounded, three by bullets and two others by knives, was the result..

At least two people were placed in custody after a brawl broke out Tuesday night in the camp of migrants from Grande-Synthe (Nord) resulting in four wounded with minor injuries, as we learned Wednesday of judicial source.

Two people were injured by firearms, one stabbed and a fourth wounded with a stick, said the prosecutor Eric Fouard Dunkirk, in what seemed  " to be a settling of scores between rival gangs ".

Fifteen shots have been fired at the camp, he said, adding that the searches conducted in the evening allowed for now to find five May 9 mm caliber casings and one bullet. the DA of Dunkrk opened in the evening a judicial investigation for "attempted murder", entrusting the investigation to the PAF and the police station.

After the brawl, which occurred around 16 hours, the calm quickly returned to the camp with an important security device was deployed: a Raid team, mobile gendarmerie brigade, a squadron CRS and two dog teams to search for possible weapons and explosives, says a correspondent for AFP.

They conducted an extensive search of the camp. "It is now over, men have found five bullet casings, one was un struck. But for the time being, none of the perpetrators have been arrested, "the union leader David Michaux. "It is very difficult to apprehend someone, the camp is located on a wooded and swampy terrain," says union leader.

David Michaux has also stated that the most likely reason for the brawl was opposing Kurdish smugglers. A version supported by the first elements of the investigation. "I have no information that would be sectarian violence," says the Figaro prosecutor Dunkirk.

The shooting do not akin to a punitive anti-Christian, contrary to what Police union spokesman David Michaux had said the day before. But according to the union official, there is a "real problem between Muslims and non-Muslims." A minority of Grande-Synthe refugees are Iranians, and some of them are Christians. "Muslims are trying to evict the Christian camp," said David Michaux.

At least 2,500 people live together on this camp located on the outskirts of Dunkirk and forty kilometers from Calais. The camp population is 95% Kurdish. Syrian Kurds, Iraqi, and Iranian and networks of smugglers who do not wish to stay in France. All have only one dream: to go to England.

Rep. Darrell Issa : "FBI would like to indict both Huma and Hillary".

Rep. Darrell Issa : "FBI would like to indict both Huma and Hillary". (TheHill).

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said the FBI likely has enough evidence right now to indict Hillary Clinton and her valued aide Huma Abedin, but that agency chief James Comey is being constrained.
I think the FBI director would like to indict both Huma and Hillary as we speak,” Issa told The Washington Examiner in an interview published Friday. “I think he’s in a position where he’s being forced to triple-time make a case what would otherwise be, what they call, a slam dunk."
Issa, a former House Oversight Committee chairman, argued that she clearly violated transparency requirements during her tenure.

There’s no question, she knew she had a responsibility and she circumvented it,” he said of the Democratic presidential front-runner. “She circumvented it a second time when she knowingly let highly-classified material get into emails in an unclassified format.

Issa added, however, that charges against Clinton are unlikely under President Obama’s 'admin'.
I’ve worked with both the last attorney general … and this attorney general, and I really don’t believe they’ll do it,” he said of Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, respectively. "Doing it, by definition, would end her run for president.
So, do I think the Democrats are in an odd situation where the only thing they can do is hold their nose and hold back on an indictment? Sadly, yes.” Read the full story here.

French Republicans want an 'incitement to jihad' criminal law bill covering places of Worship.

French Republicans want an 'incitement to jihad' criminal law bill covering places of Worship.. (Reuters). [Google translated].

Fifty Republican deputies on Friday filed a bill in which they demand the creation of an criminal law offense bill  "jihad in a place of worship".

In the explanatory statement of their text, they point out that at present the law does not prohibit and punish the event of incitement to hatred of a person or group in a place of worship, nor does it allow to prohibit and punish non-public incitement to commit terrorist acts.

So they suggest that the law could "be exercised in all places" of the territory and "prevent" the places of worship and associations offering "reading and radicalization or radical practice of Islam does not turn into antechamber for performing terrorist violence ".

The bill provides that the incitement to hatred against a person or group of people and incitement to offenses against persons, manifested in a place of worship, is punishable by three years imprisonment and 25,000 euro fine. Read the full story here. (French)

U.S. Shale oil brought a 'Stalemate' to the world oil market .

'Stalemate' on the world oil market. (Taz).

If oil prices rise, the US producers of shale oil will increase production immediately, which again will lead to excess in production and fall of prices, Head of the Energy markets sector of the Russian Institute for Energy and Finance Nikolai Ivanov told Trend.

Therefore, such a stalemate emerged on the market that everyone accepts prices the way they are,” said Ivanov.

He went on to add that the extraction of shale oil in the US has completely changed the view on the global energy market, because it is fundamentally different from conventional production.

“Conventional production requires large investments, followed by small operating costs,” said Ivanov. “In case of shale oil it is all the way around - one can instantly start a project without prospecting and exploration stage, because it happens there during production, but shale extraction requires large operating costs.”

Thus, the US shale companies may stop production at low oil prices and resume it at any time, as soon as market conditions seem right to them, said the expert.

He noted that shale companies note the possibility of reducing production at low oil prices even in the memorandums for investors.

In fact, America has become the second "balancing" supplier of the oil market after Saudi Arabia, he said.

According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the total oil production in the US, including shale oil in 2015 was 9.43 mbd.

The talks of OPEC with non-cartel oil producers won’t give any results, said Nikolai Ivanov, head of the energy markets sector at Russian Institute for Energy and Finance, speaking to Trend Jan. 28.

OPEC is in fact on its last legs,” Ivanov asserted. “Saudi Arabia is taking steps that other countries perceive as unfriendly. There are very strong contradictions within the OPEC itself. Read the full story here.

Iran Says It Won’t Join OPEC Production Cut, before reaching pre-sanctions production level

Iran Says It Won’t Join OPEC Production Cut, before reaching pre-sanctions production level. (WSJ)

Iran wouldn’t coordinate a crude-oil output reduction with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries until its own production returns to pre-sanctions levels, a top Iranian oil official said, potentially dashing market hopes of a supply cut.

Iran “won’t consider a cut” until its exports have increased by 1.5 million barrels a day over current levels of roughly 1.1 million barrels a day, the official said. The country is furiously restarting its oil exports after the lifting of nuclear-related western sanctions, which had forced its production down by more than a third.

Russians cutting production is one way to push up prices and Russia can do that, but only in Summer, as it’s technically impossible to do that in winter because of the cold.

Mr Zanganeh said Iran could increase production by 500,000 b/d immediately after the lifting of sanctions and reach its pre-sanctions output level within seven months. Hmmm......Seems like before Summer Both Russia and Iran won't cut production. By they way anyone heard about those Millions of barrels of Crude Oil Iran had stored at sea during the sanctions?  Read the full story here.

Iranian press snubs Trudeau admin: 'Excess Luggage: Disgruntled Canada Wants Back to Iran'.

Iranian press snubs Trudeau admin: 'Excess Luggage: Disgruntled Canada Wants Back to Iran'. (Fars).

Until yesterday it was at the forefront of the NPT-illegal economic warfare against Iran. Today, the Canadian government says it is out for a rip to find the quickest route back to the Islamic Republic – with excess luggage of course.
And with excess luggage we mean this: Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion has just told reporters that his government will lift some sanctions on Iran now that a deal has been reached to curb - what he called - its “contentious” nuclear program.

And his snobbery doesn’t stop there. Dion goes on to allege that "Canada will maintain a level of mistrust for a regime that must not have nuclear weapons, a regime that is a danger to human rights, and is not a friend to our allies, including Israel."

The Canadian foreign minister should take note:

* When his government decided to close its embassy in Tehran and leave, no one cared. Now they have had a change of heart and want back. Again no one will care. What’s so special about their reappearance anyway?

* What sanctions is Dion talking about? Technology? Food? Car? Medicine? He can spend a whole month in Tehran to look for a Canadian-made product and still find nothing. The value of Iran-Canada trade is too trivial for him to brag about.

* Dion says “Canada will maintain a level of mistrust…” Well, good for you! He can be pretty much sure that Tehran will similarly maintain the same level of mistrust over a regime that abruptly leaves and abruptly returns - just like a disgruntled, irrational and unfaithful partner! But wait a minute. Canada didn’t just abruptly close its embassy in 2012 and leave. It also expelled Iranian diplomats from Ottawa and formally listed Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism!

* When asked specifically about exporting civilian aircraft — Bombardier hopes to sell regional jets to the country's national air carrier, Iran Air — Dion said it made no sense to maintain sanctions that hurt such an important Canadian industry!
"If Airbus is able to do it, why will Bombardier not be able to do it? In which way is it helping Canada, or the Iranian people or Israel or anyone that Canada is hurting its own industry?" Dion’s comments defy logic and we are lost in translation. We just don’t know what to make of it!

* Dion claims, "Iran continues to be a state sponsor of terrorism, continues to deny as state policy the very existence of Israel…” The country the Canadian foreign minister is complaining about is now at the forefront of the Real War on Terror in Iraq and Syria, where it has lost some of its best military commanders and elites. If still in doubt, he can ask the long-suffering people of Iraq and Syria. He can even go to Europe to hear the truth from his European counterparts. It’s closer to Canada.

* The Israel Dion is so keen to defend is a regime that has committed and continues to commit crimes against humanity in Syria, Lebanon and occupied Palestinian territories, including in Gaza - with great impunity and no accountability. If still he insists, he can find out more by going through official reports published by the Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, United Nations, and several other international aid groups and agencies.

* Dion admonishes Iran for human rights abuses while he knows his country is helping Saudi Arabia in its generational wars of aggression and terror. The same government that Dion claims is a strong voice for the protection of human rights and the advancement of democratic values, stands accused of signing off on the sales of advanced surveillance technologies and weaponry to the repressive regime of Saudi Arabia. This makes Canada complicit in Saudi crimes, as its technologies and weaponry are being used against the people of Yemen in clear violation of international humanitarian law.

All this and more speaks volumes about the irrefutable fact that the comic image of Canada as the “great defender of human rights” does not hold water when it's a matter of counter-terrorism campaign and international humanitarian law. Foreign Minister Dion should keep that in mind when his Bombardier begins landing in Tehran with so much excess luggage.

Indian Media Report: ISIS is Paying Indian Hackers Upwards Of $10,000 A Job.

Indian Media Report: ISIS is Paying Indian Hackers Upwards Of $10,000 For Each Job. (Memri).

According to an Indian magazine, the Islamic State (ISIS) is luring Indian hackers with top dollar payments to hack into government websites and steal sensitive data.

“Hackers are also being asked to identify and create a database of potential recruits from Twitter and Facebook. For each ‘job,’ a hacker would be paid upwards of $10,000,” a report on the website in an India weekly magazine said.

“There are various underground communities online where hackers interact regularly. Our investigation reveals that for the past six months, lucrative offers for stealing government data came pouring in and hackers were offered a huge sum. Such [an] amount has never been offered to any Indian hacker before. We found that the offers were being made to spread ISIS’s reach in the country,” said Kislay Choudhary, a cyber crime expert who works with security agencies.

According to the report, Choudhary noted that stealing government data is part of ISIS’s intelligence gathering operation and helps in formulating their India strategy.

The report stated: “ISIS supporters are using Facebook and Twitter to propagate its radical ideology and brainwash the youth. Experts believe many hackers have already picked up the offer as over 30,000 have been reportedly contacted by the terror organization in India so far. The recruited hackers are communicating on internet-based services like Skype, Silent Circle, Telegram, and WhatsApp with their Syrian handlers…”Hmmm........While ISIS fighters only receiving half pay? Read the full story here.

Bulgarian PM Borisov Calls for Immediately Closing EU's External Borders.

Bulgarian PM Borisov Calls for Immediately Closing EU's External Borders. (Novinite).

Bulgarian Prime Minister called on Friday for an immediate closure of the external borders of the EU in view of the ongoing migrant crisis.

Borisov said this during a joint briefing with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban who arrived on a visit to Bulgaria on Thursday evening.

The Bulgarian prime minister noted that European leaders have failed to reach consensus on this issue at several meetings of the European Council.

He expressed hope that at the forthcoming meetings of the European Council the European leaders will be fairer towards the migrants.

In his words, Europe could no longer sustain the refugee influx.

According to him, the return of migrants once they have reached western Europe was even more inhumane than halting them at the external borders.

Borisov was convinced that if earlier calls for closing the external borders had been heard half a year ago, there would have been need for fewer migrants to be returned.

He was firm that the stance of the EU should take into account the common European solidarity as no single state should be left on its own to deal with all the refugees.

During the press conference, Orban called on the EU to admit the success of Bulgaria in dealing with the refugee crisis and to offer the country membership to the Schengen Area.

Mobile Internet security is facing a great threat as malicious programs rose by 52 percent year on year in 2015, official data showed Friday.

More than 1.45 million cases of malicious mobile Internet programs that charge money compulsorily or steal personal information were found, according to the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center.

The center has blacklisted 29,000 programs and 120,000 mobile web site addresses.

Meanwhile, China has been tightening checks on mobile Internet app developers, apps stores and security software to curb the rise of malicious programs.

Iran says it strongly opposes Saudi Arabia’s effort to send ‘terrorists’ to Syria talks. (IranFrontpage).

Iran says it strongly opposes Saudi Arabia’s efforts to send “terrorists in a new mask” to talks between the Syrian government and the opposition.

The kingdom brought together a number of militant groups in Riyadh Wednesday to decide whether to attend UN peace talks due in Geneva on Friday. They failed to reach a final decision, postponing it until Thursday.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday Saudi Arabia is trying to raise its influence at the Geneva talks by including “terrorists” in the opposition lists.

Terrorists with a new mask should not sit down at a negotiating table with the representatives of the Syrian authorities,” he told a news conference during a visit to Moscow.

This is the most important condition,” Amir-Abdollahian said, calling on Saudi Arabia to stop stoking tension in the Middle East.

We believe that Saudi Arabia’s insistence on including recognizable terrorists … in one list or another, is certainly not a constructive action on its part,” he added.

Amir-Abdollahian and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov said after a meeting on Wednesday that the two countries shared a common view on the settlement of the regional crises.

Moscow and Tehran have common position on the regulation of the Middle East problems; we also have the same position on Syria,” Amir-Abdollahian told reporters after the meeting.

Bogdanov serves as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for the Middle East and Africa. Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Moscow on Wednesday for consultations with Russian officials on regional issues.

Pres Obama issues executive order calling for labeling of 'West Bank' products. HT: IsraelMatzav.

The Obama administration has issued an executive order calling for the labeling of products made in the West Bank Judea and Samaria as not having been made in Israel.

The Jan. 23 directive states that it is “not acceptable” to label goods coming from Israeli companies in the West Bank and Gaza Strip as having been produced in “Israel.”
The order comes amid an effort by the European Union to label Israeli-made goods, a move the Israeli government called anti-Israel and that prominent anti-Semitism watchdog groups have condemned as among the worst incidents of anti-Semitism in 2015.
This is a shift from the administration’s previous position. A State Department spokesman told reporters in November that such labeling could be perceived as “a step on the way to a boycott” and said boycotts would be opposed by the administration.
But earlier this month, senior Obama administration officials defended the EU’s move and reaffirmed its position against “Israeli settlement activity.” Hmmm........Israel Iran's staunchest ally. Read the full story here

Macedonia 'Closes Border with Greece to Migrants'

Macedonia 'Closes Border with Greece to Migrants'. (Novinete).

Greece says Macedonia is no longer allowing migrants to enter the country on their way to Central and Western Europe, ABC news reports.

Skopje officials did not immediately comment, but Athens maintains the border has effectively been sealed off to migrants for several days.

Macedonia announced in November it would only let in people seeking asylum from countries where conflict is raging, such as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The step was announced as a result of similar decisions from Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia.

Last week, some EU member states' governments suggested the EU should ask Bulgaria and Macedonia, Greece's northern neighbors, for more cooperation if Athens fails to provide the border controls needed to curb the flow of migrants into Europe.

Dutch plan for EU ‘refugee swap’ with Turkey.

Dutch plan for EU ‘refugee swap’ with Turkey. (EUObserver).

The Netherlands is gathering support among a group of EU countries for a plan to accept “a couple hundred thousand refugees per year” from Turkey, in exchange for sending back all illegal migrants that arrive in Greece.

The plan was revealed on Thursday (28 January) by Dutch social-democrat leader Diederik Samsom in an interview with newspaper De Volkskrant, and has the support of prime minister Mark Rutte.

The Netherlands currently holds the rotating six-month EU presidency.

“I think there is a realistic chance that by this spring a leading group of EU countries will have an agreement with Turkey about a legal migration route for a couple hundred thousand refugees per year, in exchange for [Turkey] accepting back everyone who enters [the EU] via Greece,” Samsom told the paper's Brussels correspondent.

The idea is to distribute "between 150,000 and 250,000" refugees among EU countries who voluntarily take part in the plan. #BS  ----->

A first meeting about the plan took place in December, with Rutte, German chancellor Angela Merkel, Swedish prime minister Stefan Loefven, and Dutch EU commissioner Frans Timmermans.

Samsom noted he has been speaking “intensively” with Germany, Austria, and Sweden “because they have social-democrats in the government”.

“In the worst case scenario, only these countries plus a few like France, Spain, and Portugal take part,” he said, adding that France has been “dodging” the issue.

“When I call prime minister Valls [about the plan], he says 'interessant, tres interessant', and hopes I don't ask any further.”

While under the Samsom plan reluctant member states would not be forced to take up any refugees, they would have to pitch in financially. The plan, which he described as “the permanent [EU] asylum system”, would be funded from the EU budget.

For the plan to work and for illegal migrants to be sent back to Turkey “by return ferry”, Turkey would have to be considered a safe country by United Nations criteria. Hmmmm.......Why do i have the feeling that the EU population is watching a Kabuki theater performance? Read more here.

Swedish asylum staff attacked by rioting refugee minors.

Swedish asylum staff attacked by rioting refugee minors. (Thelocal).

Staff at a home for refugee children in southern Sweden were forced to barricade themselves in a room on Wednesday night, after 19 young men in their care rioted and attacked them with weapons.

The employees were only freed when a squad of police cars arrived at the centre and arrested the alleged ringleaders behind the riot.
“There was a violent riot at the accommodation centre for unaccompanied refugee children,” Ingela Crona from the local police in Kalmar told Expressen. “They broke loose, and a total of 19 people banded together and did this.”

According to Expressen, the young men were carrying makeshift weapons.

Police last night seized two of the young men. One, a 16-year-old boy suspected of starting the riot, is still being held. The other has been released.
The local municipality in Emmaboda, near Kalmar, which oversees the home, has moved some of the children to another location to calm down the situation.

More than 35,000 unaccompanied refugee children came to Sweden in 2015, all but 2,847 of whom are male. Hmmm........I've warned over and over again, we are not prepared for Caliphate cubs among the refugees, i hope to God it doesn't come true.

Dutch Cops Visit Critics of Dutch Migration Policy. (SP).

Critiquing the Dutch government's policy on migrants via social networking websites and elsewhere is now considered a criminal offense in Holland.

Dutch police have raided critics' homes, media outlets reported, citing a recent mass protest in the town of Kaatsheuvel and how some citizens of the town of Sliedrecht had been targeted by the authorities for voicing their criticism of mass migration online.

A police spokesperson admitted that visits to the protesters and requests to delete anti-government posts on social networking websites are "unusual" practices, but maintained that police will continue to monitor the protesters' accounts in order to uncover the further intentions of their authors.Read the full story here.

Sweden to deport nearly 80,000 asylum seekers amid migrant-linked violence. (RT).

Sweden is planning to expel nearly 80,000 refugees and migrants who arrived in the country in 2015, Interior Minister Anders Ygeman said, adding that their applications for asylum had been rejected.

“We are talking about 60,000 people, but the number could climb to 80,000,” Swedish media quoted Ygeman as saying.

Police and local authorities have been tasked with organizing the departures by charter flights. The countries of origin of the rejected asylum seekers have not been disclosed.

Sweden, which has the population of 9.8 million people, is one of the EU countries that took in the largest share of refugees per head of population. In 2015, it accepted over 160,000 refugees and migrants. Hmmm........If they can find them?  Read the full story here.

Russian Oil Execs Agree To Talk With OPEC About cutting production and Boosting Prices.

Russian Oil Execs Agree To Talk With OPEC About cutting production and Boosting Prices. (RT).

Riyadh has asked to meet with world's biggest oil producers, including non-OPEC members, to discuss the current crude price situation and possible output cuts, according to Transneft chairman Nikolay Tokarev.
"Saudi Arabia has taken the initiative, came out with a proposal to discuss the prospects of cutting production. In addition, there will be an OPEC meeting in February, where we [Russian oil authorities and producers] will participate," said Tokarev, who heads the Russian state-owned oil transportation monopoly.
He added that cutting production is one way to push up prices and Russia can do that, but only in summer, as it’s technically impossible to do that in winter because of the cold.

Both Riyadh and Moscow have softened their stances regarding the current policy of boosting exports to compensate for cheaper crude, according to Iraq's Oil Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi on Tuesday, speaking on the sidelines of a conference in Kuwait.

So far, within OPEC, only Algeria and Venezuela have clearly expressed support for a production cut.

However, Iraq, OPEC's second-biggest producer after Saudi Arabia, softened its stance this week, saying it is now willing to reduce its output if all major producers inside and outside of OPEC agree.

OPEC Governor Nawal al-Fuzaia hinted on Tuesday that OPEC is ready to cut production in an effort to slow down the plunge in oil prices. The governor told an energy forum in Kuwait that OPEC is ready to "cooperate" with others to stabilize the crude market. Hmmm........Just with speculation on the coming cuts the price of oil will rise. Read more here.

Global oil prices will not remain at the current level, around $30 a barrel, for long, Charles Ellinas, oil market expert, Executive President, Cyprus National Hydrocarbons Company (CNHC) believes.
“It is an over-reaction to recent developments coupled with trader speculation,” Ellinas told Trend.

“Iran will not ramp up its production as fast as many suggested and US shale oil production is already on a downward trend,” he added.

The US crude oil production is projected to average 8.7 million barrels per day in 2016 and 8.5 million barrels per day in 2017.

Ellinas said that the current oil prices are hurting many countries now. “There is not much of a choice but to carry on,” he said.

“However, some recovery is on the way. Already the OPEC Secretary-General is calling non-OPEC and OPEC members to cooperate in addressing the depressed oil market,” Ellinas said.

He expects that by the middle of the year we will be back to around $50 a barrel.
