Michigan Activist Lina Allan Lambasts People who Prohibit Stabbing of Jews by Palestinians: It's Like Defending Animal Rights at Best. (Memri).

Lina Allan, a Palestinian-Jordanian activist who lives in Michigan, published a video in which she attempted to rebut the position of people who prohibit the stabbing of Jews by Palestinians. Allan called on these people to not talk about something they don't understand and to "go back to watching Turkish soap operas" instead. She added that objecting to the stabbing of Jews is like defending animal rights "at best." In 2011, Allan co-founded the Jordanian "Step & Mile" NGO, and in 2012, she represented the State Department's U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) in the Jameed Festival in Jordan, according to an interview she gave to the Jordanian Roya TV.

Khamenei's Top Aide: Iran to Reciprocate US Sanctions.

Khamenei's Top Aide: Iran to Reciprocate US Sanctions. (Fars).

Iranian Supreme Leader's top adviser for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati warned the US Congress against increased sanctions against Tehran, and said such hostile moves which contradict the July nuclear deal would receive a proper response.

"Such measures are against the spirit ruling the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (nuclear deal) since the JCPOA underlines that none of the Group 5+1 members (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) should increase economic pressures against Iran," Velayati told FNA on Thursday.

"The US administration's measure and increasing sanctions will leave bad effects on the Islamic Republic of Iran's trust and of course, such measures will not remain unanswered by the Iranian officials," he added.

His remarks came after the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that the US is preparing sanctions against firms and individuals in Iran, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates over alleged links to Iran’s ballistic missile program.

In a similar reaction, Iran's Foreign Ministry warned the US to avoid meddling in Tehran's plans to reinvigorate its defensive capabilities or wait for the Islamic Republic's firm response.

"Such measures are unilateral, self-centered and illegal and the Islamic Republic of Iran has notified the US administration and they have themselves announced before that Iran's missile issue is not related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and no action will be able to deprive the Islamic Republic of Iran from its legitimate and legal rights to strengthen its defensive power and national security," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari said on Thursday.

"Therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran will give a response to any US meddling action against its defensive programs by (further) strengthening its defensive power," he added.

If the new sanctions are imposed, they will be a blatant violation of the nuclear deal signed between Tehran and the world powers in July that would eventually see Washington drop sanctions targeting Iran.

According to the WSJ, the Treasury Department is preparing sanctions on two Iran-linked networks helping develop the missile program.

Under the planned restrictions, the US or foreign nationals would be barred from doing business with the firms and people in the networks. US banks would also freeze any US-held assets.

Russia welcomes adoption of counter terrorist legislation by China.

Russia welcomes adoption of counter terrorist legislation by China.(RBTH).

Russia is confident that the adoption of legislation on fighting terrorism in China will help further consolidate counterterrorism cooperation between the two countries.

"We are confident that the adoption of the said legislative act will help further consolidate dynamically developing Russian-Chinese counter terrorism cooperation within the framework of privileged strategic partnership between our two countries," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary available on its website on Dec. 30.

The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China passed legislation on fighting terrorism on Dec. 27.

Moscow and Beijing "stand up concordantly in favor of preserving the UN's central coordinating role in global anti terrorist efforts, which should be free from politicization and preconditions, setting up a broad antiterrorist coalition to combat ISIS [a terrorist organization banned in Russia], and taking comprehensive measures to oppose the phenomenon of foreign terrorist fighters, including in the context of lowering risks for the Central Asian region," it said.

"Not only do Russia and China impartially assess the complicated antiterrorist situation in the world, but they also display preparedness to take joint measures to correct it," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Antisemitic hate crimes in London have rocketed by 61 percent in the last year

Anti-Semitic hate crimes up 61% in London – police figures. (RT).

Jewish hate crimes in London have rocketed by 61 percent in the last year, Metropolitan Police figures show. John Mann MP has called on the government to introduce new legislation to clamp down on hate speech.

The findings published on Wednesday show a total of 483 anti-Semitic crimes were committed between November 2014 and November 2015. This marks a significant rise on the 299 hate crimes recorded during the same period the previous year.

The south London borough of Lambeth saw a 200 percent rise in Jewish hate crimes, while Westminster saw a 178 percent increase.

Commenting on the findings, Mann said the increase may be due to messages distributed online.

“The big change … has been the growth of anti-Semitic hate crimes which I have witnessed first-hand. Over 200 anti-Semitic attacks have been made on me in the last six months over the internet in this country alone. This is mild compared to prominent Jewish politicians,” he told the Independent.

“Many of these threats are extreme right-wing abuse, calculated to offend, others are abuse from the far left – usually recycling the old tropes about money, power and conspiracy.

“There needs to be a new law on hate speech on the internet, requiring the internet companies to immediately identify the perpetrators and a regulatory system to oversee their managing of threatening content.”

The Metropolitan Police said it does not have full statistics on the proportion of crimes carried out online.

“The number of anti-Semitic offences recorded between December 2013 and November 2014 was 299. There were 184 more anti-Semitic offences in the subsequent 12-month period to November 2015,” a spokesperson for the force said.

In July, the Community Security Trust (CST), a charity that monitors anti-Semitism in the UK, discovered a significant leap in the number of recorded incidents in the wake of January’s terror attack on a Jewish deli in Paris.

The CST numbers of Antisemitic hate crimes seem way higher than what the Police is saying:
CST recorded 473 antisemitic incidents across the UK in the first six months of 2015, a 53 per cent increase on the first six months of 2014.
In addition to the 473 antisemitic incidents recorded by CST, a further 333 potential incidents were reported to CST which, after investigation, did not show evidence of antisemitic targeting, content or motivation and are not included in the statistics in this report.

Home Secretary Theresa May said she welcomed the growing awareness of anti-Semitic abuse. “It is encouraging that more people are coming forward as the under-reporting of hate crime is a real issue,” May said in a statement. “I know that many Jewish people in this country are concerned about safety in their community, and we are listening. Those who seek to spread anti-Semitic hatred should know that the government will act against all those who seek to divide our country and sow discord.Hmmmm..........Amazing not a single mention of Islamic antisemitism.

Germany’s Human Rights Commissioner: "Turkey must improve its human rights record before it can justify admission to the EU".

Germany’s Human Rights Commissioner: "Turkey must improve its human rights record before it can justify admission to the EU".(RT).

Turkey must improve its human rights record before it can justify admission to the EU, claims Germany’s Human Rights Commissioner Christoph Strässer, adding that under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the situation in the country has "deteriorated" drastically.

Asked whether the EU will make any concessions for Ankara's membership, Strässer replied: “This concern drives me. There can be no human rights policy discount for Turkey. We must not be generous towards Turkey just because presently we cooperate more with it. The EU must stick to its crystal-clear strict rules with respect to human rights and press freedom, he told Germany's N24 news website.

Turkey first sought EU membership back in 1987, but its bid has made little progress since then, with key issues like fundamental freedoms and the future of Cyprus proving to be major obstacles.
It seems to me that Turkey is trying to use the situation in Syria and its geopolitical tussle with Russia in order to bring this potential EU membership back on the agenda, journalist Bryan MacDonald noted, sharing his opinion on Turkish membership in the EU with RT.

However, I think it is ‘pie in the sky’ - it is just kind words they are getting from the EU because they are useful to NATO and the EU at the moment. I don’t see any possibility that 80 million Turks who are Muslims in a largely Christian EU will ever be allowed to join the organization, he added.

According to Germany’s Human Rights Commissioner, Ankara is still far from attaining eligibility for EU membership, however. We need to repeatedly send a compliance reminder to Ankara. In Turkey, dissenters are punished, and there are attacks against the opposition. As long as there's such a thing, the country doesn't belong in the EU. If we ignore it, it would be a fatal signal,” Strässer warned. Read the full story here.

Can the refugee crisis and subsequent rise of Extreme right make the EU fall apart?

Can the refugee crisis and subsequent rise of Extreme right make the EU fall apart? (Taz).

An official with the EU has voiced a concern that the Union is facing a threat of falling apart.
Gunther Oettinger, European commissioner for digital economy and society, said in an interview with German newspaper Bild on Dec. 30 that there is a threat of disintegration of the EU, TASS news agency reports.

The European Union has learned to overcome the crises. However, there are more and more countries with unstable or populist governments. I am concerned about it,” he said.

For the first time I see a serious danger that the EU could fall apart,” Oettinger added.

The commissioner further called for continuing the talks for Western Balkan countries’ joining the EU, saying “however, the conditions for accession to the Union have to be strict.”

Oettinger also voiced scepticism regarding Turkey’s accession to the EU.

There won’t be Turkey’s accession this decade and maybe during the next one,” he said.

Iraqi FM says could use military option against 'Neo Ottoman Conqueror' Turkey if forced. (ET).

Iraq’s foreign minister said on Wednesday it could resort to military means if forced to defend itself from what it says is an intrusion of Turkish forces into part of its north.

Turkey said it had deployed a force protection unit earlier this month to the area due to heightened security risks near a camp where its troops were training an Iraqi militia to fight Islamic State insurgents. Ankara acknowledged that there had been a “miscommunication” with Baghdad over the deployment.

Iraqi security forces have had only a limited presence in Nineveh province where the camp is located since collapsing in June 2014 in the face of a lightning advance by Islamic State.

Foreign Minister Ibrahim al Jaafari said Iraq was committed to exhausting peaceful diplomatic avenues to avoid a crisis with its northern neighbour Turkey, but insisted that all options remained open.

If there is no other solution but this (military), then we will adopt this solution. If we are forced to fight and defend our sovereignty and riches, we will be forced to fight,” he told reporters in Baghdad. Read the full story here.

It has come to light that the ISIS terror organization and its supporters planned details of the attack on Mosul in a hotel in Istanbul under the protection of the Turkish Intelligence Organization between the 28 February and 2 March. The militants reportedly met in Jordan’s capital Amman on the 1 June and invaded Mosul a week later.

Islamist Turkey: 'Neo Ottomans chase Santa and end up converting him to Islam.' (TZ).

Men dressed as Ottoman janissaries chased Santa Claus in a street show protesting the celebration of New Year's Eve in western Turkey, which ended with Santa converting to Islam.

As the show proceeded, Santa was brought to face a qadi, an Islamic judge in the Ottoman era, after he was caught by the janissaries, the Ottoman elite infantry units.

The act, staged by members of the nationalist-Islamic Grand Unity Party (BBP) in the province of Bolu, highlights anti-New Year's Eve celebrations sentiments in Turkey, where the festivity is widely deemed to be associated with Christianity.

Turkish media have reported education authorities in some districts of Turkey have sent notices to schools banning New Year's Eve celebrations. Hmmmm......Sure they respect other religions......and crows wear stiletto heels. Read the full story here.

'Islamist' Turkey's foreign policy in the Balkans promotes a neo-Ottoman agenda.

'Islamist' Turkey's foreign policy in the Balkans promotes a neo-Ottoman agenda. (Huffington).By David L. Phillips.

Turkey's foreign policy in the Balkans promotes a neo-Ottoman agenda, aimed at expanding its influence in former territories of the Ottoman Empire. Turkey exports Islamism under the guise of cultural cooperation. It also seeks economic advantage, using business as leverage to consolidate its national interests.

The Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) is a vehicle through which Turkey advances its ideological agenda. TIKA is the vanguard of Turkey's Justice and Development Party (AKP), which supports Muslim Brotherhood chapters around the world. TIKA runs a parallel and complementary foreign policy to official state institutions, coordinating with Turkey's Ministry of Culture and the Presidency of Religious Affairs to promote the AKP's Islamist agenda.

In addition, TIKA supports regional Islamic unions and institutions. It subsidizes community based social mobilization projects, which promote Islam. TIKA's network of Muslim community leaders and imams, which includes imams from Turkey, actively promotes Islam. Its benevolence includes food for the Iftar meal during Ramadan, delivered to impressionable Kosovars in poor rural areas.

Erdogan asked the Government of Kosovo to close schools established by Fetullah Gulen, with whom he had a falling out. Kosovo officials acquiesced, though Gulen schools offered quality education to Kosovars.

Turkish businessmen also benefit from Turkey's aggressive religious and cultural promotion. A well-respected Turkish scholar asks of the AKP, "Are they Islamists or just thieves with a religious rhetoric?"

Since become Speaker of Kosovo's Parliament, however, Vaseli has not said a word about Turkey's economic dominance. He and other prominent Kosovo politicians, including Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci, have close ties to Erdogan, as well as Turkish business and political leaders.

Turkey has cemented its influence through security cooperation. Around 2,000 Turkish soldiers were deployed as part of the KFOR peacekeeping mission in 1999. There are still 350 Turkish soldiers in Pristina and Prizren. Turkey has indicated its willingness to assume control of Bondsteel, the US base in Kosovo, as US forces withdraw.

Davutoğlu explicitly linked Turkey's foreign policy to its Ottoman legacy during a trip to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2009. "The Ottoman centuries of the Balkans were a success story. Now we have to reinvent this." He announced, "Turkey is back."

Faster integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions is the best antidote to Turkey's influence in Kosovo and the Western Balkans. US interests would also be served through intensified engagement in the region.

Closer cooperation between the US and Kosovo would be a bulwark against Turkey's export of Islamism. It would also prevent the further radicalization of Kosovo society, staunching the flow of Kosovars to join ISIS. Hmmmm........Sadly with Obama being the BFF Of Erdogan this Islamist advance won't be stopped, hopefully the next POTUS Will recognize the danger. Read the full story here.

Saudi Grand Mufti calls ISIS “part of the Israeli army”

Saudi Grand Mufti calls ISIS “part of the Israeli army”. (Brookings).

The most senior cleric in Saudi Arabia has called for greater Islamic cooperation against the Islamic State, while also labeling ISIS a "part of the Israeli army." The revealing interview this week with Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh provides important insight into the Wahhabi establishment, which is the core partner of the House of Saud.

The Mufti praised the creation of an Islamic military alliance to fight terrorism, promising the alliance will defeat the Islamic State, which he labeled a heretical and un-Islamic movement. The new alliance is the brainchild of Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Prince Muhammed bin Salman, the king’s favorite son.

Referring to a recent threat by ISIS leader against Israel, the grand mufti said: “This threat against Israel is simply a lie. Actually, Daesh is part of the Israeli soldiers,” he said using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

Both the Mufti's remarks and al-Baghdadi's illustrate that Israel remains the hot button issue in the Kingdom. If you want to smear your enemy, label him a stooge of Israel. Hmmm......When everything else fails.....blame the Jews. Read the full story here.

U.S. Senate Republicans want to block Obama from lifting sanctions on Iran regime.

U.S. Senate Republicans want to block Obama from lifting sanctions on Iran regime. (NCRI).

U.S. Senate Republicans want to block President Barack Obama from lifting sanctions against Iran's regime over lingering concerns about possible military dimensions of the Tehran's nuclear program, The Hill reported on Monday.

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) has introduced legislation that would block lifting sanctions until after the Obama administration handed over a wide-ranging report on military aspects of the Iranian regime's nuclear program and certified to Congress that any military-related activity tied to the program has ended.

The legislation — which is currently backed by 10 Republican senators including Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) — would also require Congress to pass a joint resolution approving the sanctions relief.

The proposal comes as the administration is preparing to lift sanctions against Iran's regime as part of a deal on its nuclear program as early as January. The agreement was opposed by every Senate Republican.

As part of a possible military dimension to Tehran's nuclear program, Sen. Ayotte's proposal would also require that that the administration certify that Iran's regime has ended any "research, development, testing, or fielding" of ballistic missiles that could carry a nuclear weapon, The Hill wrote.

The Obama administration has come under increased scrutiny in the wake of the Iranian regime's missile tests since October.

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) pointed to the tests as a key reason Obama should support extending the Iran Sanctions Act, which expires at the end of 2016. Senators are suggesting they'll try to move an extension of the law early next year.

Both Republicans and Democrats have pushed President Obama to take a firmer response to the missile tests, with lawmakers arguing it could signal how the administration would handle violations of the nuclear deal.

Senate Democrats — including Sens. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) — have pushed the administration to hold Iran accountable. Coons on Tuesday suggested that includes sanctions against those responsible for the tests.

Sen. Ayotte spearheaded a letter earlier this month, which was signed by 34 of her Republican colleagues, saying that the administration shouldn't lift sanctions against Iran's regime in the wake of the tests.

Meanwhile, 21 Senate Democrats are pushing Obama to act unilaterally or with European allies if the United Nations Security Council fails to reach an agreement on responding to Tehran.

Video - Indonesian young woman being caned for standing too close to male student. (DM).

Hundreds of people gathered outside a mosque in Indonesia to see a woman scream out in agony after being caned as a punishment for being in 'close proximity' to a man she wasn't married to.

Nur Elita was marched to the yard of Baiturrahumim Mosque in Banda Aceh for violating the region's strict Sharia laws, after she allegedly showed affectionate behaviour to a fellow university student.

Under the law men and women, who are not spouses, are not allowed to get too close due to the the 'khalwat' offence and punishment is by public caning.

After being brought to the stage as the crowd cheered, the woman was forced to kneel down while a masked man whipped her with the cane. After two strokes she collapses and was carried off to an Ambulance.

Also being caned was the man she was accused of getting too close to and he was forced to stand while being whipped.

Meanwhile four other men were also forced to endure the punishment for gambling, which is also outlawed under Sharia law.

According to the Jakarta Post, the caning ceremony was carried out in front of the deputy mayor of Banda Aceh Zainal Arifin.

And before the ceremony he warned the crowd that had gathered that the canings were a lesson to everyone.

He said: 'Take these punishements as a lesson. What has been done by these convicts should not be taken as example.

'And I hope their canings today will be the last ever.'

Banda Aceh is the only province in Indonesia to implement Sharia Law, which was first introduced in 2003 following the province’s awarding of special autonomy status. Hmmmm......Outrage from Women rights organizations worldwide.........Crickets. I wonder if they will give her the rest of her 'punishment' once she has recovered? Read the full story here.

Belgium Police arrest two accused in planning New Year's terror plot.

Belgium Police arrest two accused in planning New Year's terror plot. (CNN).

Belgian authorities have arrested two people on suspicion of being involved in a plot to attack "Symbolic sites" in Belgium's capital during New Year's celebrations, the Belgian federal prosecutor's office said Tuesday.

The plot appears to have been inspired, but not directed, by the ISIS terror group, a senior Belgian counterterrorism official told CNN on condition of anonymity.

The prosecutor's office said the arrests are not linked to November's deadly Paris terror attacks, which authorities say involved a number of militants who had been living in Belgium.

The arrests are connected to an alleged plot that was to target several prominent sites in Brussels during "the end of the year/New Year's celebrations."

The Police searches took place in the regions of Brussels, Liege and Flemish Brabant.

Six people were taken in for questioning . " The investigating judge has placed two people under arrest warrant , the first because of threatening with terrorist attacks , participation in the activities of a terrorist group as a leading figure and recruiting people with the purpose of committing terrorist offenses, the second because of threatening with terrorism attacks, participation in the activities of a terrorist group. the other people were put back into freedom by the examining magistrate. "

During the searches were among other computer equipment, military training attire and IS propaganda material found. All that is now thoroughly examined. Weapons or explosives were not found according to the investigators. Read the full story.

Somali Charged in ISIS Terrorism Ring Worked at Major U.S. Airport as baggage handler.

Somali Charged in ISIS Terrorism Ring Worked at Major U.S. Airport as baggage handler.HT: JudicialWatch.

In the latest disturbing example of the government’s failure to root out foreign Islamic terrorists a young Somali man, who bragged about building rockets that could strike landing planes, worked at a major U.S. airport as a baggage handler.

This month the Somali, 20-year-old Abdirizak Mohamed Warsame, was charged with conspiracy to help the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS).
He became the 10th Somali man to be charged with terrorism in Minnesota in a very short period of time.
Now a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent involved in the case reveals that Warsame once worked at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as a baggage handler.

Local media outlets published a national newswire report on the FBI special agent’s testimony during a recent court hearing. The federal agent’s testimony featured breathtaking information that’s not included in the criminal complaint, including the fact that Warsame worked as a baggage handler at the airport “with access to the airplanes.”

The FBI agent also testified about secret recordings made by a bureau informant in which Warsame says he could build “homemade rockets” that could reach 2,000 feet, enough to strike a descending plane. Hmmmm.....As i said for years the airport staff IS THE WEAKEST LINK! Read the full story here.

The Inspector General’s statement and testimony both noted that while the TSA is required to conduct manual reviews of aviation worker records, “due to the workload at larger airports, this inspection process may look at as few as one percent of all aviation workers’ applications.”

Canadian Imam likens Trudeau to a Christian king who helped Muslims and then converted to Islam.

Canadian Imam likens Trudeau to a Christian king who helped Muslims and then converted to Islam. (The Rebel).

Canadian Sheikh Shaban Sherif Mady (شعبان شريف ماضي), was a scholar at al-Azhar theological school in Egypt and served at the Ministry of Endowment and Ministry of Education of the Egyptian government.

Today, he is the Imam of a Muslim congregation in Edmonton, Alberta which holds its Friday prayers at Glengarry Hall in Edmonton.

Shaban Sherif Mady dedicated his Friday sermon on December 18, 2015 to Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whom he sees as the greatest ally of the Muslims.
Trudeau was likened to “the Najashi”, the Christian King of Abyssinia in the 7th century AD, who is honoured in the Islamic history for the support and protection he provided to the Muslim emigrants who fled pagan Mecca and his persistent refusal to expel them while fending off the pressure and lure offered by Muhammad’s Meccan rival leadership. Later, according to the Islamic tradition, the Najashi King accepted Muhammad’s invitation to embrace Islam and became a Muslim.
Justin Trudeau – I call him today the Najashi of the current era. He hosted Muslims, honoured them, visited their mosques, greeted them for their holidays, and removed the suspicion that terrorism is related to Islam, honoured the Muslims, hosted the refugees.

“He is the Najashi of the current era. This is the title of my sermon that will appear on YouTube – Justin Trudeau Najashi of the current era…

In Islam there are men, in the world there are men who helped the world with their wisdom, such as [Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan [President of Turkey] and Justin Trudeau". Hmmm........IF Trudeau is like Erdogan then  freedom of speech is about to be wiped out in Canada. God help Canada. Read the full story here.

2 planeloads of Syria evacuees land in Beirut International Airport under UN-brokered deal

Two planes carrying 338 wounded fighters and civilians from Foua, Kefraya arrive in Beirut from Turkey. (AlBawaba).

More than 200 wounded Syrian rebel fighters and civilians reached Lebanon Monday en route to Turkey via the Beirut airport, in the second phase of a UN-backed agreement between combatants in Syria's nearly five-year-old conflict.

The rebels and civilians who had been trapped in three Syrian towns were evacuated Thursday morning.

Dozens of relatives welcomed them at the Masnaa border crossing in Lebanon's Bekaa, cheering as they arrived and waving the three-star flag of the Syrian opposition.

Other pro-rebel Syrian refugees and Lebanese citizens also gathered at the border point in a show of solidarity with the fighters, shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is great).

Sources told The Daily Star a total of 123 people - 70 wounded militants and 53 women, children and elderly suffering from deterioration in their overall health - were evacuated from Zabadani, a Syrian town near the Lebanese border.

In the rebel-held Shiite villages of Kefraya and al-Fouaa in the northwestern province of Idlib, a total of 338 wounded fighters and civilians were evacuated, according to the sources.

They were taken by the Syrian Red Crescent to the Lebanese border crossing at Masnaa, where they were met by delegates from the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

A convoy of 22 LRC ambulances, two ICRC cars and several buses had arrived earlier at Masnaa escorted by Lebanon's General Security.

The deal, under the auspices of ICRC, has allowed scores of rebel fighters, many of whom are wounded and have been holed up for months in the war-ravaged town of Zabadani, to have safe passage to the Beirut airport and from there to Turkey, their final destination.

Simultaneously, around 300 families in the two besieged Shiite towns headed in an overland convoy to the Turkish border from where they will then fly to Beirut.

The route via Turkey was the safest option for the families, as traveling through Syria would have taken them through Idlib, where a patchwork of rebels controls different areas.

An airport source told The Daily Star that two Turkish planes were preparing to fly to Beirut to transport the Syrian Shiite families, while another plane in Lebanon was preparing to fly to Turkey to transport the Syrian rebels and civilians. It said the planes would fly out together as part of the deal.

The UN and foreign governments have tried to broker local ceasefires and safe-passage agreements as steps towards the wider goal of ending Syria's war, in which more than 250,000 people have been killed.

Iran and Turkey, which back opposing sides in the Syrian conflict, helped bring about the local ceasefires in Zabadani and in the two villages in Idlib in September, in the first phase of the deal.

Zabadani, which lies in Syria's mountanious Qalamoun area, had been the focus of an offensive by Hezbollah and the Syrian army against insurgent groups. The area is of importance to Assad because of its proximity to the Syrian capital Damascus and the Lebanese border.

Insurgent groups have in turn launched attacks on the two Shi'ite villages that intensified after most of Idlib province fell to rebels after a series of advances against the army this year.

Earlier this month Syrian government officials said they had agreed on a deal for rebel fighters to withdraw from the last insurgent-held area of the city of Homs with their weapons as part of a local ceasefire agreement. Hmmm.........The next Groups of Canadian government invited refugees better be vetted 100 %. Considering Stephane Dion's 'love' for Hezbollah.  More here.

Video - 'What difference Does it Make?' 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.(conservativetribune).

Michael Bay, director of the “Transformers” and “Bad Boys” series of films (and, um, “Pearl Harbor”), released the trailer for his latest film, titled “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” on Tuesday.

The film, based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s 2014 book “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi,” was filmed for between $30 million and $40 million.

While much less than Bay’s usual budget, there’ll no doubt be plenty of explosions — including exploding the myth that Hillary Clinton’s State Department did all it could to prevent the deaths of four American civilians at our consulate in Libya.

The Sept. 11, 2012, attack killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service agent Sean Smith and CIA contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods. The attack was originally blamed on spontaneous protests over a YouTube film that insulted Muhammad, but was later revealed to be a planned attack by radical Islamic terrorists.

The film, which is being released under the tagline “When everything went wrong, six men had the courage to do what was right,” stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Pablo Schreiber, Toby Stephens, David Denman, Max Martini and Dominic Fumusa. Hmmmm........What difference does it make for the presidential election?

Turkey Pres. Outlines Plans for Safe Zone 45 Km inside Syrian territory.

Turkey Pres. Outlines Plans for Safe Zone 45 Km inside Syrian territory. (Novinite).

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has given details on Ankara's proposal that a safe zone should be set up in Syria as a step to address the migrant crisis.

In an interview with Al Arabiya TV, he has said the zone could become temporary home to refugees currently living in the camps of Turkey who would like to return to their country.

Reaching 45 km into Syrian territory in the beginning, it has to stretch along 98 km of the Turkey-Syrian border, and accommodation for Syrians will be built as part of the project, Erdogan has explained.

Even though funding might be secured through a campaign, the project is met with resistance from a number of countries such as the United States, according to the Turkish head of state.

Bulgaria earlier this year said it supported Turkey's proposal and considered it an important step to address the migrant crisis. Hmmm.....UN Resolutions? What UN Resolutions?.....We don't listen to stinking UN resolutions....we're Ottoman conquerors.

After clashing with the Patriarch of Moscow, Kirill, Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin  has been removed from his post as head of the Synodal Department for Relations between the Church and Society, by decision of the Synod on December 24th .  According to the representative of the Russian Church, his dismissal is related to differences in positions with the Orthodox primate.

Speaking to Interfax-Religion, Fr. Chaplin said:
“I have been trying to tell his Holiness that the tone in the relations with the state that the Church tends to take is wrong, we should be more critical about the immoral and unjust actions by the authorities, we should be more direct when speaking to society, we should in no case suck up to structures that challenge Orthodox faith so clearly as the current administration of Ukraine. We should generally prophesize, not think every time as to who will think and say what, and we should not be afraid of getting into a conflict with those who have power in this world".
The second area in which Father Vsevolod has major differences with Patriarch Kirill is the current church administration. "Many decisions are made unsystematically, without consultations with the relevant synodal establishments, in the lobby, in haste. One can't do that. A system that works in this way is sure to make mistakes," the priest said. He also said he has warned people about that many times, but was not heard”.

According to Russian media, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on Thursday founded the Department on Liaison between the Church, Society and the Mass Media. This decision was made "to optimize the work and increase effectiveness, and also to rule our parallel processes in the work of synodal establishments." The new structure is led by Vladimir Legoyda, the head of the Synodal Information Department.

"I think the amount of work that was actually done in the department that I created and led is unprecedented in our Church - said Chaplin - I'm happy to get a breath of fresh air".

Describing himself as a free man now, the priest says he is convinced that no one will take its defenses in the Church and that it is unclear what future awaits him within the structures of the Patriarchate "But I am not holding on to anything and I do not expect anything, "concludes speaking to Interfax.

Recently, the editor of the Moscow Patriarchate’s magazine, Serghei Chapnin, has denounced the "new silence" that Patriarch Kirill has forced upon the Russian Church. "In the public space only one voice is heard, that of Patriarch Kirill," wrote Chapnin, noting that "all others mostly silent, are not allowed to make detailed statements, only brief comments". The journalist was fired a few days later. Hmmm.....Welcome to the good old Communist Orthodox Church.

Video - Captured ISIS fighter says 'trained in Turkey, FSA training camp was ISIS training camp.(RT).

Turkey is training Islamic State terrorists in a camp disguised as a training ground for the Free Syrian Army, a 20-year-old jihadist captured by the Kurdish YPG told Sputnik. The prisoner said Ankara’s help to the “moderate” Syrian opposition is not as innocent as portrayed.

With special permission from the local Kurdish authorities, Russian journalists received first-hand testimony that Turkey is “a friend” of Islamic State.

They only appear to be enemies, however, they are friends,” the 20-year-old Abdulhadi, whose brother, Til Berak, is still fighting for IS told Sputnik Turkey. While Turkish nationals constitute only about “10 percent” of jihadists he had come across, the prisoner said Turkey is actively training Islamic State fighters.

In August 2014, I was training in the Turkish town of Adana with one of ISIL’s Emirs, Abdulhadi said, adding his month-long training was completed with 60 other fighters in a camp “not far from the airport.”

The captured IS soldier said military training was conducted by two officers and one of them only “spoke Turkish, so another one had to translate for him.”

“Once a week we had shooting classes where we were taught to use Kalashnikovs, machine guns and other arms,” the 20 year-old said. We were trained in Turkey because ISIL's command thought it was safer here than in Syria because of the bombardments there.”

While the camp was officially declared to be one of the training grounds for the Free Syrian Army, the YPG prisoner says, “all sixty of those who were there were ISIL members.

“These were Syrian citizens, many of whom arrived in Turkey in search for a job initially, but later joined Daesh,” he explained.

After completing his training, Abdulhadi was tasked with escorting Syrians who wanted to join the jihadists. Hmmm........I've posted in the past three video's of captured ISIS Fighters telling the same kind of story.  Read the full story here.

Iran’s IRGC supplied with disputed Emad ballistic missile.

Iran’s IRGC supplied with disputed Emad ballistic missile. (Taz).

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has received the new homemade ballistic missile, Emad, the deputy IRGC Commander, Brigadier General Hossein Salami said.

Without giving any details, Salami said that the Emad missile (updated version of the Qadr missile) may be used in the upcoming IRGC military drill, Fars news agency reported Dec. 28.

Last October Iran test fired Emad missile, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, which raised disputes about possible violations of UN Security Council resolutions.

The missile meets the minimum requirements for delivering nuclear weapons (500 kilogram payload over 300 kilometers).

The Emad is the latest generation of Iran’s long-range ground-to-ground ballistic missiles, capable of guidance and control technologies to assure intended targets are struck, according to the Iranian officials.

The missile’s engine operates on liquid fuel and its range reaches 1700 kilometers, while the Islamic Republic insists on calling Emad a long-range missile.

Under international restrictions, Iran has turned to domestic talents to improve its military power, frequently unveiling new products.

As a result of the embargo, Iran’s military capability is drastically limited, compared to US and NATO forces.  Hmmm..........Test fired half October and already operational?

Fears British prisoners could be radicalized and turned into jihadist while behind bars.

Fears British prisoners could be radicalized and turned into jihadist while behind bars. (Express).

ISLAMIC STATE (ISIS) gunmen behind the Paris atrocities last month as well as two al-Qaeda killers responsible for the Charlie Hebdo murders at the start of the year became radicalized while in jail in France.

Earlier this month, the Government launched an investigation into whether jailed extremist preachers could be radicalising thousands of prisoners.

It is believed some may have tried to radicalize vulnerable young prisoners, while others will have helped enforce a ‘culture of separation’ inside jails, helping create extremist zones.

Earlier this year, the Metropolitan Police’s head of counter terrorism Richard Walton said there were not yet any meaningful measures to deal with the matter.

He said: "We are convicting more people, so the challenge in prisons is bigger.

"Where operations start from within prison or with somebody who has just been released from jail, you know there wasn’t much success in de-radicalising them when they were in.

"There has to be more we can do. The issue of radicalization in prisons is a concern. Everybody needs to think what more can be done."

However, the Government is taking action against the threat.

Prison governors are now expected to carry out risk assessments when working out which prisoners share cells, as well as carrying out reception and induction interviews.

Government guidance says: "Contact with prisons’ chaplaincy should take place, particularly for those whose initial assessments cause concern.

The chaplain’s initial assessment should seek to establish longevity and knowledge of faith and look for any indication that the prisoner endorses extremist ideology or supports terrorism.”

A spokesman for the prison service said: “The Secretary of State has asked the department to review its approach to dealing with Islamist extremism in prisons and probation.

This is being supported by external expertise and sits alongside the cross government work currently underway on developing de-radicalization programmes.” Hmmmm......Just replace 'British prisoners' by 'Prisoners Worldwide'. On top of it in Europe Muslims form the fastest growing group of prisoners.  Read the full story here.

Why Extremist Chaplains Have Access to U.S. Prisons
America’s Academies for Jihad   A radical imam threatened me with death—and was later hired to preach in U.S. prisons. I was surprised, but I shouldn’t have been.

Muslim gangs are running many prisons, according to a BBC report. In high security prisons, Muslim percentages are well above average. In 2008, Muslim prisoners accounted for 34 percent of prisoners in HMP Whitemoor, in Cambridgeshire, and about 24 percent of inmates in HMP Long Lartin, in Worcestershire.

Ironically, Muslim criminals enforce a strict Islamic code in many of our prisons: people can be beaten up for eating pork or listening to western music. Inmates are being recruited into Islam and Muslim lags are being radicalised.

Britain is not alone: In Belgium the figure is 16% (12.8% Moroccans, 3.1% Turks) (EUMAP), 35% (NEWS) in Denmark 20% (NEWS).  French prisons have between 50% and 70% Muslims (NEWSNEWSNEWS) whilst in Norway the figure is over 30% (NEWS) and in Spain 70% (NEWS).  Not even Switzerland escapes, with 57.8% Muslims in Champ-Dollon prison alone (Champ-Dollon PDF).  See HERE for the source of that information and more figures.

Indictment: Alleged ISIS supporter tried to bomb NFL's Championship game.(TheHill).

An alleged supporter of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) from Arizona has been indicted on charges that he planned to attack last year’s Super Bowl, according to court documents obtained by CNN.

The indictment alleges that Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem, who is also accused of arming and training men to attack a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas earlier this year, plotted to set off pipe bombs at the University of Phoenix Stadium during the NFL’s championship game.

Kareem is also accused in the Wednesday indictment of providing material support to a terrorist group by accessing an ISIS document listing the names and address of U.S. service members, CNN said.

The earlier indictment alleges the 44-year-old, also known as Decarus Thomas, conspired with Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi to attack the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest in Garland, Texas.

Simpson and Soofi were shot dead on May 3 by a police traffic officer who was part of the security detail at the event. The officer was wounded but survived in the attack, for which ISIS has claimed responsibility.

The trio had been allegedly conspiring to support ISIS since June 2014, with targets such as the homes of U.S. service members, military bases, shopping malls, the Super Bowl and the cartoon contest.

The indictment alleges that Simpson, Soofi and others scouted military installations in order to plan their attacks. Hmmm......Conspiring since 2014.... nobody ever noticed, or did but was afraid to be called an Islamophobe..Read the full story here.

New law allows China's People's Liberation Army to undertake counter terror missions overseas.

New law allows China's People's Liberation Army to undertake counter terror missions overseas. (NewsIcrosschina).

A new Counterterrorism Law makes it legal for China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) to get involved in antiterror operations abroad.

According to the law approved by China's top legislature on Sunday afternoon, the PLA and China's armed police forces could carry out counterterror missions overseas with the approval of the Central Military Commission.

Public security and national security authorities could also send personnel overseas for counter-terrorist missions, but these must be approved by the State Council and agreements signed with the countries concerned.

China has studied U.S. and European Union laws in drafting its own counterterrorism bill which requires tech firms to assist security authorities to prevent and investigate terrorism, an legislative official said here Sunday.

At a press conference held at the end of a week-long session of China's top legislature, Li Shouwei of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee legislative affairs commission, admitted that a number of countries and enterprises had voiced concerns about certain provisions in the law.

He pointed to Article 18 of the new law, which requires telecom operators and internet service providers to provide technical support and assistance, including decryption, to police and national security authorities in prevention and investigation of terrorist activities.

Li said the rule accorded with the actual work need of fighting terrorism and was basically the same as what other major countries in the world do.

"The clause reflects lessons China has learnt from other countries and is a result of wide solicitation of public opinion," he added.

"(It) will not affect companies' normal business nor install backdoors to infringe intellectual property rights, or ... citizens freedom of speech on the internet and their religious freedom," Li said.

The law, which goes into effect January 1, was criticized by Western countries while it was being drafted, particularly over its cyber provisions. U.S. President Barack Obama and the U.S. State Department objected publicly to the law's requirement that overseas technology firms submit product encryption keys to the Chinese government as a condition for doing business in China.

Some regional countries (Turkey) seek to revive past empires, Iran’s speaker says.

Some regional countries (Turkey) seek to revive past empires, Iran’s speaker says.(Taz).

Some regional states are pursuing wrong policies, some other seeking to revive their imperial past, Iran’s parliament speaker, Ali Larijani said, Iran’s Fars news agency reported Dec. 24.

The age of empires is over, Larijani said, adding that is an illusion and will impose high costs to the region.

The Iranian official did not name any certain country in his remarks, however some Iranian officials in numerous occasions have accused Turkey of attempting to resurrect the Ottoman Empire.

The Islamic Republic is in a serious disagreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey over Syrian crisis. Iran is a close ally of the Syrian government and has always shown its support for the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad, while Riyadh and Ankara support opposition groups trying to topple him.

Larijani further referred to the ideologies followed by some terrorist groups in the region such as the IS (ISIS, aka ISIL or Daesh), saying it has formed a wrong perception of Islam in the world.

He also accused the Western countries of using the extremist groups to spread Islamophobia.

In the current situation, certain Western countries are seeking to spoil the image of Islam and create Islamophobia through the instrumental use of terrorists,” Larijani said, adding terrorist groups definitely play a destructive role in the Muslim world.

He said that terrorists’ thoughts have nothing to do with Islam or Islamic schools of thought.
