  • Nobel experts predict low-key prize after Obama.Jurors singled out Obama's efforts to heal the divide between the West and the Muslim world and scale down a Bush-era proposal for an anti-missile shield in Europe.Too soon, said critics. A Gallup poll shortly after Obama won the award in October found 61 percent of Americans did not believe he deserved it. People were split along partisan lines on whether they were happy for him.China has said giving the prize to a Chinese dissident would harm relations between Norway and China, but Lundestad dismissed the warning, saying the committee is independent from the Norwegian government. As always Lundestad declined to comment on nominations but said that over time the committee seeks to achieve a certain geographical balance and make an effort to find female candidates. Of the 97 peace laureates to date, only 12 have been women.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

"I can say there is almost global consensus on the Turkish mediation, and the only opposition to this comes from Israel," he said.Hmmm.....Turkish brothers.....Iran.....Syria....Hezbollah.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Canadian defence Min MacKay shuts down Islamic group speech.Defence Minister Peter MacKay has vetoed the speech from a controversial Islamic group because of its "extremist views."Imam Dr. Zijad Delic, the national executive director of the Canadian Islamic Congress, was to speak at an internal event at Department of National Defence headquarters Monday.A spokesman for MacKay said when the minister learned of the CIC's participation in the Islamic Heritage Month event, he pulled the plug "based on extremist views promulgated by the Canadian Islamic Congress.""The Canadian Islamic Congress has declared that Israelis over the age of 18 are legitimate targets of suicide bombers," wrote Jay Paxton, MacKay's director of communications, in an e-mail. "These types of comments don't support Islamic Heritage, they simply divide Canadians, promulgate hate and they have no place in Monday's celebrations."Charles McVety, who heads up the right-wing Institute of Canadian Values, issued a statement Friday saying Delic's invitation to speak is an insult to the Canadian Forces soldiers who have died in Afghanistan."This will shock the conscience of Canadians of good faith, dismay military families whose children have made the supreme sacrifice, and undermine the credibility and morale of our armed services in the eyes of allies and enemies alike," McVety said in the statement on the association's website.Hooray for Canada!Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:AmericanThinker.A Clear Danger: Obama, a 'Living Constitution,' and 'Positive Rights'.I think it's safe to say that President Obama is not exactly fond of the United States Constitution as written. That statement is based on Mr. Obama's own words and his choice of nominees to the federal bench.Mr. Obama the activist-turned-politician has always been shrewd about hiding his far-left philosophy from the general public, whether by voting "present" or by speaking in abstract language. Of course, Obama, like most people, cannot completely hide his worldview. Thankfully, we have record of a few of his unguarded moments from which his radical views have escaped.Mr. Obama correctly (and painfully) refers to the Constitution as a "charter of negative liberties," as "interpreted."So far, the Senate has confirmed 41 of Obama's nominees, leaving 104 federal judgeships open. Presently, a battle over five of Obama's nominees known as the "fringe five" is being fought by Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Connie Hair writes that these "candidates ... have once been returned to the President as unacceptable. Each of these controversial nominees was passed out of committee but are so controversial that President Obama and Democrat leaders have avoided discussing them in public."Certainly, the "fringe five" symbolize Mr. Obama's judicial philosophy, and yet any one of his high-ranking nominees, if scratched, would bleed a leftist worldview. Of all the president's radicals, let's focus on just one of the fringe nominees, Goodwin Liu, because his writings mirror exactly what Obama was getting to in his WBEZ-FM interview. In other words, Liu is a "living Constitution" theorist who, like Obama, uses conservative-sounding words to support his radical positions. A Constitution that is interpreted by a few robe-wearing elitists "in a way that adapts its principles" is effectively no Constitution at all. After many decades of "living Constitution" interpretation, the people have already lost much of their Constitution to leftist judges. And now, the elitist establishment is positioning itself for its next break from the constraints.Mr. Obama is a constitutional deconstructionist on steroids, and the damage he will wreak in four years of judicial appointments should not be underestimated.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:BacktoBasics.Democrats give Obama secrecy for intelligence.House Democrats on Thursday gave in to Obama administration secrecy demands and softened legislation that would have required broader notification of Congress about secret intelligence operations — part of the first intelligence bill likely to become law in six years. The deal means the president can continue to restrict briefings about these programs to just a handful of lawmakers, known as the “Gang of Eight” — chairman and ranking members of House and Senate oversight committees and senior leaders. The bill also includes provisions that would allow declassification of the total annual U.S. intelligence budget, and would require reports to Congress about cost overruns in major secret acquisition programs. The authorization bill would give the director of national intelligence powers to launch reviews into errors or misconduct by intelligence officials, and could open the door to a new role for intelligence oversight by congressional investigators in Government Accountability Office.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Stuxnet Malware Mystery Deepens: Another Hint Of Israeli Origins. It's like a 21st-century version of a John Le Carre novel, in which all the dashing spies have been replaced by computer geeks. The mystery continues to deepen over the origin of one of the world's most damaging computer viruses -- Stuxnet -- which some experts believe is targeted at Iran's nuclear power plants, slowing that country's quest for a nuclear weapon. On Tuesday, a German computer specialist offered a hint that Israel may be behind the sophisticated malware, by demonstrating that a file inside the code uses the word "Myrtus" -- which could be a reference to the Book of Esther, the Old Testament story about how the Jews prevented a nefarious plot by the Persians, according to the New York Times. The next day, a trio of security researchers offered another clue at a conference in Vancouver, describing how Stuxnet includes references to the 1979 execution of the leader of Iran's Jewish community at the time. Specifically, the researchers from Symantec -- Nicolas Falliere, Liam O Murchu and Eric Chen -- showed that the code includes a marker with the numbers "19790509" which, if prompted, stops the code from infecting a targeted.Read the full story here, full report from Symantec here.Click here for comments.

  • Vatican asked by judge to serve Pope papers.A U.S. judge is asking the Vatican to co-operate in serving the Pope and two other top officials with court papers that stem from decades-old allegations of sexual abuse by a priest in Wisconsin. The request is an incremental — and long shot — step in a lawsuit that accuses the officials of conspiring to keep the allegations against a Milwaukee priest quiet. The Vatican is not obliged to comply with the request.Under similar circumstances, the Vatican has made service difficult, time consuming and expensive by insisting, for example, that documentation be translated into Latin, one of the Vatican's official languages. He said he hoped it would lead to the Pope testifying directly under oath about what he knew about Murphy's actions when, as then Cardinal Ratzinger, he headed a powerful office that oversees the discipline of priests.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:JudicialWatch.DOJ Drops Charges Against Indicted Islamic Terrorist. In a stunning reversal, the Obama Justice Department has asked a judge to drop charges against a suspected Middle Eastern terrorist considered so dangerous by the government that prosecutors fought to deny him bail after his indictment last year.Suddenly, this week, the feds want the case dismissed against the Afghan-born man (Ahmadullah Sais Niazi) who authorities say planned to blow up buildings and refers to Osama fin Laden as “an angel.” Niazi, who lives in southern California, is also the brother-in-law of Osama bin Laden’s body guard.Charges against Niazi include perjury, naturalization fraud, misuse of a passport obtained by fraud and making a false statement to a federal agency. He faces a maximum sentence of 35 years in federal prison and a $1.25-million fine. His trial, which has been postponed several times, is scheduled for November if the judge doesn’t grant the government’s request.Prosecutors have refused to further explain the mysterious about face, but the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a national organization that serves as the U.S. front for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, has taken much of the credit. • HT:TheLastCrusades.Muslims responsible for over 5,000 murders on American soil.A study from Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill maintains that the terrorist threat posed by radical Islam has been greatly exaggerated. The study has captured front page headlines in Arab News and newspapers throughout the Muslim world.Charles Kurzman, one of the co-authors of the study, maintains that fewer than three dozen murders have been committed by American Muslims on American soil. What Kurzman fails to take into acount are the number of murders committed by non-American Muslims on American soil and the homicides perpetuated by members of the Nation of Islam. The actual figures show that Islamophobia is a justifiable stance since Muslims have been responsible for the murders of 5,000 Americans in the past fifty years. This number includes the nearly 3,000 Americans killed on 9/11 and the hundreds of victims of the so-called Zebra killings that took place in the 1970s.Kurzman and his crew also neglect to point out that the number of Muslims in America, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, is almost statistically insignificant. Of roughly 4.6 million Muslims in the Americas, more than half live in the United States and make up less than 0.8 percent of the population.Yet Muslims have wrecked more death and destruction on American soil than the combined toll of all political, social, and religious hate groups, including the Ku Klux Khan. The following is a very short list of incidents of Islamic violence that have taken place within America since 9/11.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • At Harvard, Groupthink About Islam (The appalling hypocrisy of Martin Peretz’s critics).Last Saturday, at a university-sponsored event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Harvard’s Committee on Degrees in Social Studies, a group of former students launched a research fund in honor of Martin Peretz, a former teacher in the program and the longtime editor in chief of the New Republic. After the event adjourned, the afternoon turned ugly as police had to protect Mr. Peretz while he walked across campus surrounded by a mob of screaming students. For that final sentence, Mr. Peretz apologized and sought atonement. Nonetheless, his column set off a firestorm. The Harvard Crimson reported over 500 protests against the honorary research fund by alumni, students and staff.Harvard accepted the money to create the fund. Yet a member of the Social Studies Standing Committee extolled the protest, while also declaring that everyone on the committee “was—without exception—appalled by Peretz’s comments.”Why not, then, organize an open forum where Mr. Peretz might engage with his critics? That, presumably, was out of the question: better to ensure that students know which side “everyone—without exception” is on.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • A Teary Emanuel Gets Dead Fish At White House Send-off.At the 8:30 staff meeting in the Roosevelt Room this morning, departing chief of staff Rahm Emanuel was given a gift by Council of Economic Advisers chair Austan Goolsbee: a dead Asian carp. This was an allusion to the Emanuel legend of his sending a dead fish to a pollster for whom he didn’t care, replicating the scene from The Godfather when the Corleones were alerted of Luca Brasi’s death with a dead fish wrapped in Brasi’s bullet-proof vest. The specific species was a reference to Emanuel’s focus as a member of Congress and White House chief of staff on the aggressive, invasive Asian carp, bane of the Great Lakes, a plankton-devouring creature heading towards Chicago.Said White House press secretary Robert Gibbs: “In Chicago, this is how friends say goodbye.”Yes just keep silent and you won't be sleeping with the fish, now that i made you an offer you can't refuse?Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Obama and His Enemies. At least Nixon had the smarts to keep his list of liberal foes a secret.…I’ve never seen a politician run an election with the message “Don’t be stupid, quit your bitching and vote for me.”… There’s a reason that strategy has never been employed: because it’s so insane to think that open berating would inspire a voter to action. In a way, the question was an easy one. And had Obama stuck to the first sentence of his answer — “Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press” — he probably would have scored points on all sides.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

Andrew Breitbart & Frank Gaffney: Big Peace, Hamas & the FBI

Andrew Breitbart filled in for Michael Savage on the Savage Nation and spoke with Frank Gaffney about Shariah, the Team B II Report, and the shocking story of known Hamas/Holy Land Foundation unindicted co-conspirator Kifah Mustapha being led around the FBI's National Counter-Terrorism Headquarters.

  • HT:BigPeace.John Brennan Must Go.Among other things, I warned the court that – since shariah obliges its adherents to engage in jihad (holy war), whether through violent means or more stealthy techniques – in my professional judgment, any approval of a proposed 50,000-square feet Islamic Center of Murfreesboro (ICM) required the most careful and informed scrutiny. My testimony was drawn from the analysis and key findings of the pathbreaking Team B II report that have been serialized here in recent days. In particular, I noted that officials at every level of government have been, at best, willfully blind (in the words of Team member and former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy) to the dangers associated with the so-called “civilization jihad” being waged against this country by the Muslim Brotherhood. At worst, some appear susceptible to charges of “misprision of treason” – a term the U.S. code uses to criminalize a failure to act in the face of evidence of sedition.Speaking of Chicago, that city is the venue for three-days of meetings convened by what some have called “the new Caliphate” – a 56 Muslim nation entity that makes up the international institutional arm of the “civilization jihad” aimed at destroying Western civilization from within. Incredibly, at least three senior White House and State Department officials are among the scheduled participants: Rashad Hussain, the President’s special envoy to the OIC; Farah Pandith, the State Depatment’s outreach coordinator to the Muslim community; and Dalia Mogahed, an adviser to the White House Office of Inter-faith and Neighborhood Initiatives.Hussain was actually scheduled to speak on a panel “moderated” by a representative of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). The effect of such interactions is unmistakably to legitimize these deeply problematic, shariah-promoting organizations and to facilitate their influence operations against and penetration of the U.S. government.Such perilous behavior is the inevitable result of direction provided by Homeland Security Adviser John Brennan. It is for this reason, among others, that members of Team B II called today for Brennan’s resignation. The former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Lieutenant General William G. “Jerry” Boykin put it this way:: r. Brennan is in a position of enormous responsibility. If he lacks an understanding of shariah law and the threat that it presents to America, then he is negligent and I would consider his failure to be a moral one. If he is cognizant of the dangers of shariah law and the aims of those who are driven by a quest to bring it to this nation, and he has been deceptive about the issue with the public and the President of the United States, then I believe that his behavior is criminal. Either way, he should no longer serve as Homeland Security Adviser to the President of the United States. All I can say is, “Amen.”Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Let them eat cake?First lady Michelle Obama's campaign for healthier school lunches has stalled in Congress after anti-hunger groups and more than 100 Democrats protested the use of food stamp dollars to pay for it.One hundred and six Democrats wrote House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in August calling the move egregious, saying it was not a vote they would take lightly. Labor unions, anti-poverty groups and even New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg also urged the speaker to reconsider using the food stamp money."It's just plain wrong," said Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., a longtime advocate for childhood nutrition programs. "The way you are going to pay for a child nutrition bill is by dipping into people's food stamps? Give me a break."To no avail. Democrats declined to take up the bill before the November elections, citing many of their members' concerns about the food stamp dollars. Many Republicans opposed the bill as well, saying it was too expensive.Supporters had hoped to pass the bill before Thursday, when many of the child nutrition programs in the bill are scheduled to expire.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Contemporary Forms of Racism: 'Islamophobia'.Mr. Githu Muigai, Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance made a statement on his written report to the UNHRC September 28, 2010. Mr. Muigai apparently hoped to explain how defamation of religions and in particular, "the serious implications of Islamophobia" impact on the "enjoyment of all human rights by their followers"."Islamophobia" implies irrational fear and loathing of Islam. Since the hijackings, shooting incidents and bombings of the latter third of the last century and the more recent attacks in New York City and Washington D.C., fear and loathing of Islam is hardly irrational. The history of Islam is a 1387 year trail of blood and tears leaving an estimated 270 million innocent victims dead. The Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance has clearly stated an objection to attempting to outlaw "negative stereotyping". His opinion runs counter to the mainstream.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • U.S. Voters Abroad Test Efforts To Expedite Balloting. It's not easy to vote if you're an American living overseas or serving in the military.Hundreds of thousands of ballots requested by military and overseas voters in the 2008 elections were never returned or counted. Many of those voters simply did not get their ballots in time. But a new law this year appears to be turning things around.Take the case of retired Texan Lanny Marcus, who has lived in Cali, Colombia, for the past 15 years, but still feels strongly about voting back home. Every election, Marcus keeps his fingers crossed when he requests an absentee ballot. Will he get the ballot on time? Too often, as in his state's primary this past March — the answer is no."I never got it," Marcus says. "Usually they come a few days before or after the election, but that one never came."So imagine his surprise when he got a message the other day from his county election office in Texas."When I went to my e-mail, I couldn't believe it," he says. "The first time in my life — absentee ballot by e-mail."A few jurisdictions, like some counties in West Virginia, are even experimenting with online voting. That has some voter groups concerned, though, about ballot security. The Overseas Vote Foundation is recommending that anyone who sends their votes electronically also send a backup paper copy, just to be safe.Hmmmmm.....Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Official: Germans, Brits behind Europe terror plot.Eight Germans and two British brothers are at the heart of an al-Qaeda-linked terror plot against European cities, but the plan is still in its early stages, with the suspects calling acquaintances in Europe to plan logistics, a Pakistani intelligence official said on Thursday. One of the Britons died in a recent CIA missile strike, he said. The revelations underscore the role of Pakistan as a haven for many would-be militants with foreign ties, a worrying prospect for Western countries who face additional challenges when tracking terror suspects among citizens who have passports and easier access to their shores. Pakistan, Britain and Germany are tracking the suspects and intercepting their phone calls, the official told The Associated Press. Although he characterized the plot as immature, the Pakistani official warned against underestimating the suspects, whom he said have backing from al-Qaeda, the Pakistani Taliban and the Afghan Taliban, all groups that are separate yet interconnected.“It does not mean that they are not capable of materializing their designs,” the official said. “They are very much working on it.”Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Mums flood Saudi school on gender-mixing report.Talks of boys being admitted to class send parents into a tizz.Worried mothers packed a Saudi primary girls school after they learned it would allow little boys to join classes along with their daughters, causing disruption of classes for nearly a week, al Watan newspaper reported on Friday. The mothers and other custodians of the school girls continued to pour into the school every morning for nearly a week despite assurances by the headmistress that the boys had been admitted to school but into a separate building. The crowd kept escorting their children into Alabrar School in the central town of Madina and stayed inside for long hours to make sure their daughters are not mixing with the new male entrants, the paper said.Saudi Arabia, one of the most conservative Muslim countries, still bans gender mixing at its schools despite a controversial decision by King Abdullah last year to establish the Gulf Kingdom’s first co-educational institution—the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).KAUST, which has been criticised by some Muslim scholars inside and outside Saudi Arabia, is designed to produce Saudi scientists and is the only educational institution in the world’s oil superpower where men and women can mix. • Turkey Approves Muslim Prayer Service In Armenian Church. The Turkish government has decided to allow the country's leading ultranationalist party to hold a Muslim religious service in a medieval Armenian church. The opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) announced earlier this week its intention to rally supporters for a Friday prayer at the 11th century Holy Virgin Cathedral in Ani, the ruined capital of a medieval Armenian kingdom located in Turkey's northeastern Kars region. The party had asked regional authorities and the Ankara government for permission.Built in 1001, the Ani cathedral(The Holy Virgin Cathedral)was one of the largest churches of medieval Armenia. It is now one of the few surviving examples of the ancient Armenian civilization that existed in what is now eastern Turkey until the World War I-era mass killings and deportations of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.According to official Turkish sources, the church was converted into a mosque after much of Armenia was seized by the Seljuk Turks in the late 11th century. • HT:Bluecollar.Interesting: 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge Founder Calls on NYC to Investigate Missing GZM Construction Permits.Andy Sullivan, founder of the 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge was an eyewitness to the World Trade Center attacks. After seeing the first plane hit he successfully evacuated all of his construction crew. His one regret from that day is “not knowing that the first girl I ever loved was working at Cantor Fitzgerald. I could have saved her.”Andy has been researching the building permits for the proposed Ground Zero Mosque. According to Mr. Sullivan’s research, “that building is being illegally occupied. You cannot issue any type of Certificate of Occupancy either permanent or temporary without an inspection of the premises.” During the 9/11 terrorist attacks the building was damaged when the landing gear from one of planes landed on it causing damage. “Work has been done on that site since 9/11, yet there is no record of inspection since this work was completed, ” says Sullivan. Without the necessary permits and inspections Mr. Sullivan states that “No one can be sure that this building that is illegally being used to hold services is safe. There are real concerns for the safety of those occupying this building illegally.”According to Sullivan, in order for this site to meet Department of Building requirements, “all work done without permits has to be taken down and removed. They need to start over from scratch under the strict supervision of the DOB.” Sullivan wonders why the DOB is ignoring the lack of proper permits.“This site would be shut down if it was any other entity in the this city. Tremendous fines would be levied against any other project. I believe that Mayor Bloomberg is in cahoots with the DOB and figures no one with construction expertise has scrutinized the work permits, ” states hard hat Andy Sullivan.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Palestinian mental patients get hysterectomies.Muslim law permits parents to remove uteruses of mentally ill girls to protect family from shame.A debate held by a Palestinian radio station has revisited the issue of female mutilation, with interviewed parents saying they prefer to perform hysterectomies on mentally ill girls in order to prevent them from becoming impregnated. But the procedure is known to be performed in order to allay fears of embarrassment by a similarly ill offspring, and has been sanctioned to this end by both Sharia and the Palestinian Authority."We can't follow the girls around 24 hours a day, and we worry that they will be sexually assaulted, so we prefer to cut out their wombs," one parent told a radio station belonging to the Ma'an news agency.Female Palestinian MP Dr. Sahar Al Qawasmi agreed that there is a legal problem, and said a hysterectomy does nothing to defend the girl but rather serves only to protect her family from the shame and embarrassment incurred in Muslim society by a mentally ill family member."If our will is to protect the disabled or mentally ill, we must worsen the punishment against those who would attack her," Dr. Qawasmi said."If we must cut out the girl's womb, why do we not chop off body parts from disabled boys? The hysterectomy makes her the victim of a rape as well as of punishment, and the lack of punishment for her assailant."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Irony Alert in Seattle: Hijab and Burqa Clad Women Protest Ayaan Hirsi Ali Speech on Islam’s Oppression of Women. It was the type of scene you don’t see everyday in Seattle: Some three dozen Islamic women in cloaks and veils descended on Town Hall last night to wave pickets and pass out fliers. They were there to protest the appearance of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the controversial Somali émigré who’s been speaking out against Islamic fundamentalism and oppression of women.“We don’t want hate speech here,” said Entisar Ibrahim, one of the protesters, her black hijab revealing only her eyes. But when asked exactly how Hirsi Ali was a “virulently Islamaphobic bigot,” as the fliers labeled the visiting author, Ibrahim couldn’t say.At least one woman coming into Town Hall for the talk seemed confused by the branding of Hirsi Ali. “I thought she was a Muslim woman,” the audience member said. Not exactly. Answering questions from the audience and World Affairs Council CEO Ian Moncaster, a very Western-looking Hirsi Ali, in leather boots and a cowl-neck sweater, described herself as a “dissident of Islam.” She certainly didn’t promote violence against Muslims. But she did put forward the deeply contentious idea that Islam was simply incompatible with modernity and feminism. Moderates who yearned for spirituality were better off converting to Christianity. (Judaism could work too, she said, but the Jews stubbornly refuse to proselytize.)As for the protesters outside, she said, "I welcome them in the room." She said she'd like to directly ask them about a passage in Islamic doctrine that counsels husbands to beat their wives.I for one salute her courage!Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Locked and Loaded: The Secret World of Extreme Militias.Camouflaged and silent, the assault team inched toward a walled stone compound for more than five hours, belly-crawling the last 200 yards. The target was an old state prison in eastern Ohio, and every handpicked member of Red Team 2 knew what was at stake: The year is 2014, and a new breed of neo-Islamic terrorism is rampant in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio ... The current White House Administration is pro-Muslim and has ordered a stand-down against Islamic groups. The mission: Destroy the terrorist command post — or die trying. The fighters must go in "sterile" — without name tags or other identifying insignia — as a deniable covert force. "Anyone who is caught or captured cannot expect extraction," the briefing officer said.A top FBI counterterrorism official says the bureau's "biggest concern" is "the individual who has done the training, has the capability but is disenchanted with the group's action — or in many cases, inaction — and decides he's going to act alone." A high-ranking DHS official added that "it's almost impossible to find that needle in a haystack," even if the FBI has an informant in the group. • Ayodhya Judgement: Babri Masjid divided between Muslims and Hindus. The Allahabad High Court today ruled, by majority, that the disputed area of the Babri Masjid Mosque, demolished December 6, 1992 by Hindu extremists, will be divided into three between Muslims and Hindus. Education expert Diane Ravitch on why the vitriol is so dangerous. For the past week, the national media has launched an attack on American public education that is unprecedented in our history. NBC devoted countless hours to panels stacked with "experts" who believe that public education is horrible because it has so many "bad" teachers and "bad" principals. The movie Waiting for Superman, possibly the most ballyhooed documentary of all time, explains patiently that poor test scores are caused by bad teachers, that bad teachers are protected for life by their unions, and that the answer to our terrible test scores is privatization. If only we fire enough teachers every year, goes the oft-repeated claim, our national test scores will soar to meet those of Finland, the highest scoring nation.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.
