US moves Patriot missile defense system vehicles out of Turkey.(FOT).
The U.S. military on Thursday began removing several of its defense system vehicles from southeastern Turkey’s Gaziantep province, where they had been deployed as part of NATO’s Patriot missile mission since 2013, security sources said.
The military vehicles were taken to the port town of İskenderun in the country’s southern Hatay province.
The U.S. Patriot Unit was deployed to Gaziantep in March 2013 to deal with possible missile threats from Syria.
On August 16, 2015, the United States announced that it would remove its Patriot air-and-missile defense units from Turkey.
Germany has also said it would end its contribution to NATO’s Patriot systems in southern Turkey by the beginning of 2016. Hmmmm.......Iran wanted them gone for a long time.
