Netanyahu points out Obama's Iran-nuclear flip-flop. (IAT).

PM points out elements "apparently" in nuclear deal that Obama said last year are things that Iran does not need in order to have a peaceful program.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's pre-election flip flop on a two state solution, which he later walked-back, will pale in comparison to a US presidential zig-zag if Netanyahu reported accurately to the Knesset on Tuesday on what will be in the nuclear accord being negotiated in Lausanne.

The biggest threat to our security and our future was and remains Iran's attempts to arm with nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu said at the ceremonial opening of the 20th Knesset just hours before the self-imposed deadline for reaching a framework deal between the world powers and Iran.

The agreement being put together in Lausanne paves the way for that result. Apparently it will leave in Iran's hands underground facilities, the [heavy-water] reactor at Arak, advanced centrifuges. All those things that only a few months ago we were told, rightfully so, that they were not vital to a peaceful nuclear program.”

It was US President Barack Obama who said that each of those elements was not needed for a peaceful program.

Obama, during a question-and answer session at the Saban Forum at the Brookings Institution in Washington in December 2012, said the following:

In terms of specifics, we know that they don’t need to have an underground, fortified facility like Fordow in order to have a peaceful nuclear program.

They certainly don’t need a heavy-water reactor at Arak in order to have a peaceful nuclear program. They don’t need some of the advanced centrifuges that they currently possess in order to have a limited, peaceful nuclear program,” Obama said at the time.

Netanyahu chose his words carefully, saying these elements will “apparently” be in the agreement, since the details of the deal are still being worked out, and have not been released.  Hmmm........Obama: "If you want to know where my heart lays judge me on how i stood up for Israel"

EGYPT - Egyptian President Sisi Invited to the Easter Vigil from the Coptic Orthodox Church

EGYPT - Egyptian President Sisi Invited to the Easter Vigil from the Coptic Orthodox Church. (Fides).[GoogleTranslated].

Cairo (Agenzia Fides) - The Coptic Orthodox Church has called on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to participate in the Easter Vigil, to be celebrated on the evening of April 11 by Patriarch Tawadros II in the Cathedral of St. Mark in Cairo . This is shown by the Egyptian sources consulted by Fides.

Besides the Chairman, the Coptic Orthodox Church has already sent official invitations to a long list of political leaders and representatives of Egyptian institutions. In addition, 5,000 tickets for the faithful have been printed to allow them to participate in the liturgy of the Easter Vigil.

President al-Sisi has already participated in the vigil of the Coptic Christmas, in the evening of January 6, welcome in the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo by Patriarch Tawadros II and by the enthusiasm of the faithful. On this occasion, the personal participation of Egyptian president at the vigil in question - as was explained to Fides.

Bishop Antonios Aziz Mina Coptic Catholic Bishop of Giza - "represented an unprecedented event in the history of Egypt. In the past, the presidents were limited to send representatives.

Some Egyptian Presidents - including Hosni Mubarak and the Islamist Mohamed Morsi - presented their Christmas greetings to Patriarch through phone calls courtesy, while others - like Nasser and former Interim President Adly Mansour - had made courtesy calls to the Patriarch in the days before Coptic Christmas. " Hmmm.....Lets hope the Muslim Brotherhood doesn't use the occasion to commit more terrorist attacks.

'Iran nuclear deal would need Arab cooperation' Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal.

'Iran nuclear deal would need Arab cooperation' Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal. (AA).

Iran will not be able to reap the benefits of any nuclear deal with world powers without the cooperation of its Gulf neighbours, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said on Tuesday.

Prince Saud al-Faisal's comments came on deadline day to reach a framework agreement aimed at stopping Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, in exchange for easing crippling sanctions.

Iran insists its nuclear efforts are for purely peaceful purposes.

"If the P5+1 wanted to give Iran a role in the region they should have first looked to favour an entente between Iran and the Arab states," Saud told the Shura Council, an appointed consultative body.

He was referring to Britain, France, China, Russia, the United States and Germany, which face a 2200 GMT deadline in negotiations with Iran to end a 12-year dispute over Tehran's nuclear programme.

Saud asked the six major nations to not "short-circuit the interests of the states of the region by dangling before Iran benefits that it will not be able to reap without cooperation with the countries of the region." Hmmm....Never a dull moment in the ME.

Iran & world powers working towards declaration of accord on Tuesday giving them another three months to agree.

Iran and world powers working towards declaration of accord Tuesday giving them another three months to agree. (Bloombergh).

Iran and world powers are closing in on an agreement detailing the main steps needed to resolve a 12-year standoff over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program, giving themselves three months to overcome remaining differences.

Though any understanding is likely to fall short of the full resolution of every issue dogging the dispute that both sides had sought, a statement may be released after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov returns to the talks this afternoon, according to two officials involved who spoke on condition they not be named in line with diplomatic protocol. The parties would then have until June 30 to draft a detailed technical accord.

An agreement can be reached “as long as none of the participants at the talks raise their stakes at the last moment,” Lavrov said at a press conference prior to returning to Lausanne, Switzerland, where the negotiations are taking place. One sticking point remained the lifting of United Nations sanctions as demanded by the Iranians, according to an official involved in the talks.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, speaking at a press conference with French President Francois Hollande in Berlin, said that while she hopes an “acceptable agreement” can be reached, “there still have to be tough negotiations.” Hollande said “France wants an agreement but a good agreement -- not an accord for the sake of an accord.”

The agreement on main principles would be less than what was sought by President Barack Obama. He needs to sell any deal to a skeptical Congress and American public to get support for a 10-to 15-year accord that would restrict and monitor Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for relief from crippling sanctions on banking, oil and other trade. 'John 8:7' - Passing Judgment on Israel.

'John 8:7' - Passing Judgment on Israel. (AT).By Hans Comprix.

The U.N. wants the world to believe that Israel is leading the globe in human rights violations, partly as a result of the shameless propaganda war perpetrated by Hamas during and since the war in the Gaza Strip last summer.

The war was precipitated by numerous Hamas and Palestinian terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, the last straw being the bloody massacre of an entire Israeli family, including their newborn baby.

Only the uninformed could pass judgement on Israel for the unavoidable collateral damage on civilians which any warring state has been guilty of ranging from minimal to egregious. The United States is no stranger to civilian collateral damage. We routinely kill civilians as a result of our drone executions which take place near daily all over the Middle East. How does the U.S. handle the repercussions of killing civilians in order to execute high-value targets? We pay them cash money. In the Mideast, it's referred to as "blood money", and in Islam, paying that debt brings balance to the scales of justice.

In 2014 alone, Obama authorized 357 air strikes in Pakistan. These figures are noninclusive of the multitudes of drone strikes which are a fact of life for citizens in several Mideast countries; including, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, among others. The 2014 official Pakistani deaths by drone reported was between 2,410 - 3,902; 416-959 civilians; 168-204 children; 1,133 - 1,706 injured.

During the 2014 Gaza Strip conflict, an estimated 2,200 casualties were reported, many of them civilians that were used as human shields by their own leaders.

The fact is, collateral damage is not a war crime, but a harsh reality that must be accepted in a world in which conflict and war is a part of human nature. Unfortunately for Israel, her enemies have demonstrated for years their willingness to sacrifice their own civilians in exchange for uninformed global pity and empathy that will one day lead to global indignation against Israel.

Sadly, that strategy has had limited success until recent years; coinciding with the Obama presidency and global anti-Semitism, the likes of which haven't been seen since the holocaust." Read the full story here.

'CHANGE" - The Iran nuclear deal will kill off all US Shale oil production.(CNBC).

Brent crude oil dropped towards $55 a barrel on Tuesday as Iran and six world powers entered a final day of talks over a nuclear deal that could see the energy-rich country increase oil exports to world markets.

Disagreements on enrichment research and the pace of lifting sanctions remained as hurdles that could scupper a deal to end a 12-year standoff between Iran and the West.

Oil prices extended two days of declines as investors said a deal in Lausanne could lead to an increase in Iranian crude supply to a market already weighed down by oversupply due to rising U.S. shale production.
"If the flood gates to Iranian crude open, (prices) will probably test this year's lows again," Daniel Ang, analyst at Singapore-based brokerage Phillip Futures, told Reuters Global Oil Forum.
Iran could increase oil production by around 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) within six months if sanctions are removed, and by an additional 700,000 bpd within another year, according to estimates by Facts Global Energy.

Western sanctions have limited Iranian crude oil exports to around 1 million bpd, and shipping sources say Iran is storing at least 30 million barrels of oil on a supertankersHmmmm....All that is left for Iran is to close the Strait of Hormuz a few months after US Shale production and Canadian tar sands stopped. As talks over Iran's nuclear weapons program neared their deadline Tuesday, the Commander of Iran’s Basij (volunteer) Force, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, was quoted as saying that “wiping Israel off the map is not up for negotiation.”

In a basij conference in Iran, Naqdi also threatened Saudi Arabia and said that the counterattack it is waging in Yemen, against Iran-backed Houthis, “will end up like Saddam Hussein.”

The report was carried on Kol Yisrael radio.

World powers were meeting for Iranian nuclear negotiations on Tuesday morning, for the final day of talks in Lausanne, Switzerland.

A morning session of the talks ended earlier than scheduled, after just 35 minutes, without results.

Syrian military source alleges 'Islamist' Turkish role in Idlib offensive.

Syrian military source alleges 'Islamist' Turkish role in Idlib offensive. (Yahoo).

A Syrian military source accused Turkey on Monday of helping Islamist rebels to stage an assault on Idlib, a provincial capital which fighters seized at the weekend.

The source declined to comment on the situation in Idlib, citing security considerations, but a monitoring group has confirmed the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front and allies now control Idlib and said the Syrian air force bombed the city on Monday.

The fall of Idlib, 30 km (20 miles) from the Turkish border, marks only the second time in the Syrian civil war that Damascus has lost control of a provincial capital. The first was Raqqa, which the ultra-radical Islamic State group has turned into the de facto capital of its self-declared caliphate.

Echoing more general comments by President Bashar al-Assad, the military source accused both Turkey and Jordan of supporting the insurgents in their Idlib offensive, saying they were "leading operations and planning them". The insurgents were using advanced communication apparatus that had been supplied to them via Turkey, the source added.

The Turkish foreign ministry declined to comment.

Turkey is one of the regional states most hostile to Assad, along with Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In an interview with the U.S. network CBS, Assad described Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan as a "Muslim Brotherhood fanatic" who was directly supporting insurgents "logistically and militarily" daily.

Syria's government has not commented on the fall of Idlib, though the pro-government Watan newspaper published in Damascus reported on Monday that the Nusra Front and its allies had raised the al Qaeda flag over government buildings in the city.

Nusra Front was joined by groups including the hardline Ahrar al-Sham in seizing Idlib on Saturday, a reminder of the pressures facing Damascus after more than four years of crisis.

The Islamist alliance rejected a call by the Turkish-based mainstream political opposition to let an interim government set up its headquarters in Idlib, saying it would ruled by those "in the trenches and not in hotels".

The Nusra Front's influence in northwestern Syria has been expanding at the expense of mainstream rebel groups, some of which received U.S. military support. It is a rival of Islamic State, an al Qaeda offshoot that has seized territory in both Syria and Iraq.

Ahrar al-Sham issued a statement urging the people of Idlib to help fighters run the city and saying they were not seeking to set up an Islamic emirate. Hmmmmm........I can not more agree with the tweet below. Read the full story here.

Tehran Has Not Backed Down On Any Part Of Its Initial Negotiating Positions, the Obama 'Admin' Surrendered.

Tehran Has Not Backed Down On Any Part Of Its Initial Negotiating Positions, the Obama 'Admin' Surrendered.(Memri).By: Y.Carmon and A. Savyon.

In light of their November 2014 failure to bridge the gaps and arrive at an agreement, Iran and the P5+1 group together decided to extend the validity of the November 24, 2014 Geneva Joint Plan of Action by an additional six months, to June 2015.
Following this agreement, the U.S. planned a two-stage continuation of the talks, as follows:
1.  Three months (by the end of March 2015) to reach a framework agreement
2.  Three additional months (by the end of June 2015) to agree on the technical specifications of this agreement.
However, in a February 18, 2015 speech, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei announced that he completely disagreed with this procedure, and determined that an agreement would be arrived at not in two stages but in one stage to be completed by the end of June 2015, and that the agreement would include the removal of all sanctions on Iran. This means that the March 31, 2015 deadline is completely unimportant to Khamenei.
The U.S. is disregarding Khamenei's announcement, and is attempting, without success, to force Iran into the two-stage process that it set out. Iran is refusing to sign any interim document, and for this reason Western foreign ministers involved in the negotiations, such as U.K. Foreign Minister Phillip Hammond, are saying that understandings which might be reached at this stage will only be oral ones.
It should be emphasized that Iran has not backed down in any way, at any stage, from the positions with which it began the talks:
1.  Tehran rejects the removal of its enriched uranium from Iran.
2.  Tehran rejects a gradual lifting of the sanctions.
3.  Tehran rejects restriction of the number of its centrifuges.
4.  Tehran rejects intrusive inspections and snap inspections.
5.  Tehran rejects any halt to its research and development activity.
6.  Tehran rejects any change to the nature of its heavy water reactor at Arak.
7.  Tehran rejects any closure of its secret enrichment site at Fordow.
8.  Tehran rejects all restrictions to its nuclear activity following the agreement's expiration.
9.  Tehran rejects the inclusion of its long-range missile program in the negotiations.
10.  Tehran rejects reporting on its previous clandestine military nuclear activity.
11.  Tehran rejects allowing inspections of military sites suspected of conducting nuclear activity.

In his February 18, 2015 announcement, Khamenei specified that he would accept only a single-stage agreement, and that this agreement must include the lifting of all sanctions on Iran and that it must clearly state that the West may not take advantage of the framework agreement in order to force its position on Iran in the second stage when the details are discussed. Sanctions against Iran should be lifted when agreement is reached – Russian FM Lavrov.

Sanctions against Iran should be lifted when agreement is reached – Russian FM Lavrov.(Taz).

Sanctions against Iran must be lifted when an agreement on its nuclear program is reached, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference, RIA Novosti news agency reported March 31.

With regard to our position on sanctions, I believe that sanctions should stop working by reaching agreements,” Lavrov said. “There are different forms - completely cancel or suspend at first, and then cancel in the legal sense. But in practice the sanctions should cease to work and no longer interfere with the development of legitimate trade and economic activity between Iran and its foreign partners.”

The minister went on to add that this applies to sanctions imposed on Iran by UN Security Council.
We do not recognize the unilateral sanctions that were imposed by the US, Europeans and some other countries, no matter whether it is Iran or any other country,” said the head of the Russian foreign ministry. “But it is a question of cooperation between Iran and these countries.”

A political part of a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, on the conclusion of which the parties agreed in late 2013, should have been agreed upon by March 24. However, the dates were shifted during the last ongoing round.

Senior Congress Aide on Iran: "People here wondering what the f—k is going on."

Senior Congress Aide on Iran: "People here wondering what the F—k is going on." (FreeBeacon).

Iran is refusing to relinquish its stockpiles of enriched nuclear materials, throwing a potential complication into negotiations that are set to expire tomorrow, according to senior State Department officials and Iranian diplomats.

Iran rejected on Monday ongoing demands by Western powers that it export to Russia its stockpiles of enriched uranium, the key component in a nuclear bomb.

The issue has emerged as a sticking point in talks over the last day, with Iran now rejecting any potential compromise on this front. The State Department said that the issue has been up in the air for months, according to sources close to the negotiations.

The export of stocks of enriched uranium is not in our program, and we do not intend sending them abroad,” Abbas Araqchi, an Iranian negotiator and diplomat, was quoted as telling the country’s state-run press. “There is no question of sending the stocks abroad.”

A subsequent New York Times article claiming that discussions over the issue have hit a wall in the last day prompted the State Department to reveal that negotiations over the export of uranium have been stuck for quite some time.

Contrary to the report in the New York Times, the issue of how Iran’s stockpile would be disposed of had not yet been decided in the negotiating room, even tentatively,” a senior State Department official told the Free Beacon on Monday. “There is no question that disposition of their stockpile is essential to ensuring the program is exclusively peaceful.”

Marie Harf, a spokeswoman for the State Department, reiterated that the United States had yet to reach any sort of agreement on the issue as the two sides work to strike a “political understanding” over the next 36 hours.

The bottom line is we don’t have an agreement with the Iranians on the stockpile issue,” Harf told reporters in telephone call. “It’s still an outstanding issue.”

One source familiar with the talks told the Free Beacon that the Obama administration had been promising members of Congress that Iran would consent to export its uranium.

Administration officials told lawmakers they’d get the Iranians to make a concession, then the Iranians refused to make that concession, and now the State Department is pretending they never expected anything anyway,” said the source.

The White House briefed lawmakers and told them the Iranians were willing to ship out their stockpile,” the source said. “That was the whole justification for jacking up centrifuge numbers to 6,000. State Department spokespeople are basically gaslighting reporters by pretending otherwise.”

Congressional opposition to the administration’s diplomacy has put “additional pressure on our side,” Harf said.

One senior congressional aide familiar with Republican thinking on the negotiations said that lawmakers are extremely displeased by what was taking place in Switzerland.

Quite frankly, people here are wondering what the f—k is going on,” said the senior staffer, who would only speak on background. “Why, after a year of negotiations, are major, consequential issues like whether Iran can keep its stockpile of highly-enriched uranium being debated just before the clock strikes midnight?

Even Democrats are beginning to have reservations about the deal, according to the source.

The Iranians seem to be successfully capitalizing on the fact that the Administration is in dire desperation mode to get a deal,” the source said. “Even the president’s most loyal Democrats in Congress are finding it near-impossible to defend what appears to be a worse deal than anyone ever imagined.Hmmmm......In case you haven't noticed yet....the Obama 'admin' lies.Read the full story here.

Five Indian Antonov warplanes go missing during upgrade in Ukraine – report.

Five Indian Antonov warplanes go missing during upgrade in Ukraine – report. (RT).

Ukraine is reportedly failing India with upgrades to its An-32 transport aircraft. At least five planes have allegedly gone missing in Ukraine. Meanwhile, work on Indian soil has been halted after Ukrainian engineers were pulled out.

The Indian Air Force sent 40 An-32s to Ukraine to be upgraded at the Kiev-based state-owned Antonov plant under a 2009 service contract. But the last five of them have become “untraceable,” an Indian Air Force official told Defense News.

Another 64 An-32 had to be upgraded locally, but Ukrainian engines tasked with the job departed and the supply of spare parts stopped, he added.

"These five aircraft are almost lost as it is difficult to trace them and diplomatic efforts to find their whereabouts have failed," the anonymous official is quoted as saying.

Earlier Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar said the last batch of An-32s sent to Ukraine for upgrade had been “stuck” there due to the ongoing crisis, Economic Times reported.

The military news website contacted the Ukrainian embassy, which said Antonov must resolve this issue with the Indian Air Force on its own. The company would not comment on the issue.

India’s defense ministry has denied speculation that its An-32 transport planes have been going missing in Ukraine.

Media reports about the Indian military aircraft disappearing during the modernization are unfounded. This is confirmed by the Indian Air Force. The last batch of five An-32 aircraft, which were sent to Ukraine for repairs, remains at the factory in Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement. Hmmmm......Have they tried lost and found offices? Iran like a modern day Nazi Germany: Ex-CIA chief J. Woolsey.

Iran like a modern day Nazi Germany: Ex-CIA chief J. Woolsey. (Yahoo).

Iran is trying to expand its empire much like Hitler's Germany before World War II, former CIA Director James Woolsey said Monday, citing Tehran's moves to exert its influence in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen.

"They are doing it on a highly ideological basis. They never cease chanting 'Death to Israel' and 'Death to the United States,'" Woolsey said in a CNBC " Squawk Box " interview. "They are an imperial power and trying to become more of an imperial power."

Woolsey called for a halt in the six-nation nuclear talks with Iran, which include the U.S. "Given Iran's aggressiveness and the fanaticism of its leaders, I don't think we can do a reasonable deal with them. They'll cheat."

Regardless of whether an agreement can be reached to curtail Iran's nuclear ambitions with verification measures, the rogue nation could have nuclear weapons capabilities in a "year or so," Woolsey said.

"If we stop the talks, clamp further sanctions, introduce far more competition than exists today into the oil business ... we could slow them down."

Speculating on why the U.S. is participating, he said, "I think the president wants a good relationship with Iran and an agreement so he can claim a diplomatic victory."

'We need Civilian Security Force' - John Brennan's reforms would turn the CIA into a paramilitary organization. (TheWeek).

While "cyber" and "innovation" are certainly newsier buzzwords than "restructuring," Brennan's planned changes to the CIA's internal architecture are generating controversy and conversation, and rightly so.

Brennan's reform would extend the model of the Counterterrorism Center (CTC), a division already inside the CIA to the entire agency. This means analysts and operations officers will no longer work separately, but side by side in regional and thematic units. This is a major shift which overcomes a decades-old division of labor.

The CTC model is not without its advantages. Analysts with deep knowledge of their enemies would be able to target operations more efficiently, and they could more easily assess the reliability of incoming information. Intelligence would circulate more freely among those working on the same topic and officers would be able to apply their talents and expertise to a wider range of tasks.

If Brennan's suggested reform comes to pass, any pretense of disinterested objectivity in the CIA would disappear. The CIA would become a largely paramilitary agency with no separation between analysts and operators, the opposite of what Kent had envisioned.

The likely consequence would be a multiplication of the biased assessments like the ones on the drone and interrogation programs. In the long run, the CIA would lose its reputation for objectivity, its ready access to senior policy-makers and its centrality in the policy process. Read the full story here.

Erdogan's daughter: "Women receiving a lower share of inheritance than men is normal" for Islam.(HD).

Women receiving a lower share of inheritance than men is normal, considering men’s responsibilities according to Islam, Sümeyye Erdoğan, the daughter of the Turkish president and the deputy head of the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM), has stated.

Giving a lecture in Brussels on “the perception of Muslim women around the world and the fight for the equality,” Erdoğan said the topic of inheritance distribution in Islam was among the most discussed in terms of equality.

“They ask why daughters are given lower shares from a will while sons receive more. But when we look closely, we see that men are assigned the responsibility for bringing the bread home, while women are not. So naturally giving higher inheritance shares to men is normal, fair and righteous,” Erdoğan said.

For instance, a married couple can both work. But the man should give some of his income to his wife, while the woman decides herself how to spend her own money,” she added.

In the same speech, Erdoğan also said the history of Western countries was “worse when it came to the suppression of women.”

“We don’t have any reason to be diffident. When you examine the history of the world for practices that dominated women, you mostly see Western countries. You don’t see Islamic countries,” she said.

Erdoğan also supported the idea of “gender justice,” which she said emphasized notions such as “balance and fairness.” This, she said, contrasted to “gender equality” which comes from Western culture and envisions a “prototype world of women and men.”

Erdoğan criticized feminism for identifying Islam as the reason why women are kept at home, saying that in fact Islam did not oblige women to ask for permission to work. Hmmm.......They (Women) are even not equal in death......for Islam.

İstanbul-based Armenian church daubed with hate messages, glorifying Armenian Genocide

İstanbul-based Armenian church daubed with hate messages, glorifying Armenian Genocide. (TZ).

The Surp Astuanzazh Armenian Church in İstanbul's Bakırköy neighborhood was daubed with hate speech on Tuesday as “1915, blessed year” was written on the side of the building in reference to the massacre of more than 1 million Armenians living in the Ottoman Empire during World War I.

Tensions have been growing since Turkey announced in January that it would host international events to commemorate the centennial of the Gallipoli Campaign on April 24, a date that overlaps with the annual commemoration of the massacres, which many countries consider to be genocide.

In addition to “1915, blessed year,” further graffiti on the church stated, “What does it matter if you are all Armenian when there is already one Ogün Samast.”

Today's Zaman visited the site on Wednesday morning and found that the graffiti had been painted over. But an administrator at the church said, “This type of thing happens all the time.” The Armenian Patriarchate of İstanbul refused to comment on the matter. No criminal complaint has been filed. Hmmmm.....Amazing how Turks glorify a Genocide that they claim never happened :)Read the full story here.

US Coast Guard still wrangling with Only one 'retired' heavy ice breaker. (Janes).

As human activity in the Arctic continues to expand, the chief of the US Coast Guard (USCG) remains concerned about the nation's limited ice-breaking capability and is continuing to advocate for recapitalising its obsolete fleet of heavy ice breakers.

"This is not a coastguard unique challenge. It's a global access challenge that requires a national solution," Admiral Paul Zukunft, commandant of the USCG, said on 24 February in his annual state of the coastguard address.

Polar-class USCGC Polar Star (WAGB 10), a 39-year-old cutter that has been reactivated, remains the United States' sole heavy ice breaker, with sister ship USCGC Polar Sea (WAGB 11) laid up in disrepair. The 16,000-tonne medium ice breaker USCGC Healy (WAGB 20) is also in service.

Demand for ice-breaking capability is only growing, as several recent cases have demonstrated, the commandant noted. Polar Star in mid-February steamed 900 miles and broke through 150 miles of ice to rescue a 207-ft fishing vessel, Antarctic Chieftan , hailing from New Zealand with 26 crew members, that had become stranded in the southern polar region. "Ponder that for a minute, what a truly spectacular rescue and what would happen if we weren't there," Adm Zukunft said. "What concerns me even more is that the United States has no rescue capability whatsoever had it been Polar Star who suffered a catastrophic [mechanical] casualty and become beset in ice."

A study commissioned by the USCG to assess the United States' future ice breaker requirement concluded that a fleet of three heavy and three medium ice breakers would fulfill the needs for operating in the polar regions.

Enticing shipbuilders to help on a new ice breaker also has been difficult. "When you try to incentivise a shipyard to building an ice breaker, most shipyards will not make the front-end capital investments to build one ship of one type. So there's been an expressed need for more than one ice breaker," Adm Zukunft told reporters.

USCG officials have been arguing for a 'whole-of-government' approach to funding a new ice breaker for some time, but the idea has yet to gain traction with US agencies with a vested interest, such as the Department of Defense, which also is struggling with its own budgetary problems.

To keep up with the burgeoning activity in the Arctic, the USCG is weighing options for bolstering its ice-breaking capability in the near term, including leasing ice breakers, reactivating Polar Sea , and possibly pursuing new ship acquisitionHmmmm......Meanwhile the Russians have 6 heavy nuclear powered icebreakers, 7th is being build, and the have 39 diesel powered ice breakers. Good luck defending the arctic from Russia's appetite.China has 2 heavy ice breakers and one more coming in to service next year.Read the full story here.

Egypt puts top Muslim Brotherhood members and Obama 'admin' allies on 'terrorist list'. (AlAhram).

Supreme guide Mohamed Badei and deputy Khairat El-Shater among 18 added to a 'terrorist list', in a first implementation of February's Terrorist Entities Law.

Several leaders of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood were officially labelled as "terrorists" on Sunday, upon order from the prosecutor-general, after a February court ruling that indicted these members with carrying out "terrorist acts".

The move is the first implementation of the Terrorist Entities Law issued on 24 February, which states that any person described as a "terrorist" in a court order will be added to a "terrorist list."

The prosecutor-general's order designated 18 Muslim Brotherhood guidance bureau members as "terrorists", including supreme guide Mohamed Badei, his deputy Khairat El-Shater, former parliament speaker Saad El-Katatni, Essam El-Erian, Mahmoud Ezzat, Osama Yassin and Rashad Bayoumi.

Egyptians included on the terrorist list can be banned from travel, can have their bank accounts frozen if used to fund terrorism, and can be prevented from public employment or political representation.

The new Terrorist Entities Law has expanded on articles in Egypt's penal code that deal with terrorism.

Critics accuse legislators of issuing a very broad definition of "terrorist acts", which include acts preventing state institutions or public authorities from functioning or seeking to attack the personal liberty of citizens, among other crimes. Hmmmm.....Can't wait for the red notice to Interpol :)

The upcoming trip of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyep Erdogan to Iran should be cancelled due to his recent anti-Iran remarks, Iranian MP Esmaeel Kowsari said.

Kowsari, who is a member of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said Erdogan should be notified that if he talks nonsense about Iran, he will be dealt with, Iran’s Fars news agency reported on March 29.

“Even if the foreign affairs ministry takes no step in this regard, we will oblige them to do it,” Kowsari said.

Erdogan is due to visit Tehran in early April.

The Turkish president earlier accused Iran of trying to dominate the Middle East and its efforts have begun to annoy Ankara, as well as Saudi Arabia and Gulf Arab countries.

Prior to that, Turkey said it supports the Saudi-led military operation against Houthi forces (a Shia group) in Yemen and called on the militia group and its “foreign supporters” to abandon acts which threaten peace and security in the region.

“Iran is trying to dominate the region,” Erdogan said at a press conference. “This is really not tolerable and Iran has to see this.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif severely criticized Erdogan over the latter's recent remarks against the Islamic Republic.

Those who have inflicted irreparable damage with their strategic mistakes and high ambitions would better adopt wise policies to use existing potentials in preserving regional peace and integrity,” Zarif said.

Zarif said that Iran highly regards its strategic relations with Turkey in different spheres, adding that under the current circumstances all countries must work toward establishing peace and preventing insecurity in the region.

An investigation has been launched into 58 individuals including journalists, deputies, musicians and actors on the grounds that they posted messages on Twitter criticizing the state-run Anadolu news agency, according to a story in the Cumhuriyet daily over the weekend.

The individuals facing investigation include Zaman daily Washington representative Ali Halit Aslan, world-renowned pianist Fazıl Say, Cumhuriyet daily Editor-in-Chief Can Dündar, Cumhuriyet correspondent Ahmet Şık, Hürriyet writer Melis Alphan, Miliyet reporter Burcu Karakaş, Taraf and Today's Zaman columnist Emre Uslu, Republican People's Party (CHP) deputies Umut Oran and Müslim Sarı, actor Erdal Beşikçioğlu and pop singer Atilla Taş.

Anadolu has received growing criticism for being the propaganda tool of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The agency attracted heavy criticism for its coverage of the results of the March 30 local elections last year in favor of the AK Party.

These individuals are accused of insulting the news agency, but their tweets that are included in the investigation file do not contain insults. Unconfirmed Report: Provisional 'Surrender' Agreement on Iran Deal Reached.

Unconfirmed Report: Provisional 'Surrender' Agreement on Iran Deal Reached. (INN).
Israel says deal 'could be no less than a tragedy for the moderate regimes in the Middle East and for the entire Western world.'
A provisional agreement on key elements of Iran deal has been reached, say diplomats, according to AFP.

Western diplomats in talks in Switzerland said Sunday that Iran had "more or less" agreed to slash the number of its centrifuge machines “by more than two-thirds” and to ship abroad “most of its stockpile of nuclear material,” according to the AFP report.

Negotiators in Lausanne are frantically racing to finalize the outlines of a framework deal by midnight Tuesday, and the diplomats cautioned however that things may change.

Iranian diplomats however denied that any tentative agreement on slashing the centrifuges and shipping out nuclear materials has been reached, telling the French press agency that any reports of specific number of centrifuges and exporting its stockpiles were "journalistic speculation".

"The fact is that we will conserve a substantial number of centrifuges, that no site will be closed, in particular Fordo. These are the basis of the talks," the Iranian diplomat said.

A senior member of the Iranian negotiating team said that the "publication of such information by certain Western media is aimed at creating an atmosphere to disturb the negotiating process".

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has said the deal currently under discussion between Iran and world powers over Tehran's nuclear program is even worse than he had feared.

"The dangerous accord which is being negotiated in Lausanne confirms our concerns and even worse," Netanyahu said in remarks at a meeting of his cabinet broadcast on public radio.

"After the Beirut-Damascus-Baghdad axis, Iran is carrying out a pincers movement in the south as well in order to take over and conquer the entire Middle East. The Iran-Lausanne-Yemen axis is very dangerous for humanity and needs to be stopped."

“Iran is receiving a reward,” Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon tweeted Sunday afternoon. The West is letting Iran into the family of nations, through the front door. The Iranian appetite to export the revolution through terror will only grow.”

"A very bad deal could be signed in Switzerland with Iran, a country with a radical and out-of-control regime that succeeded in hoodwinking the entire western world,” said Israeli defense minister Moshe Yaalon in response to the reports from Lausanne.

"Iran uses subversive and murderous terror and is involved on the wrong side of every Middle Eastern conflict,” he continued, “and turning it into a nuclear threshold state as will happen after the agreement is signed could be no less than a tragedy for the moderate regimes in the Middle East and for the entire Western world.” Hmmmm......Rumor has it the Obama -Iran 'admin' is booking the USS Missouri to sign the conditional surrender documents.

'Islamist' Sometimes NATO Ally Turkey welcomes fall of key city in Syria’s north to Terrorist group Al Nusra. (HD).

Turkish officials have expressed their satisfaction at the seizure of the northern Syrian city of Idlib by opposition forces, stressing that the Ankara-supported Free Syrian Army (FSA) was part of the winning side.

The coalition that seized Idlib city on March 28 was composed of the al-Nusra Front, the official Syrian affiliate of al-Qaeda, as well as several Islamist factions.

The al-Nusra Front and its allies have captured all of Idlib,” the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, according to AFP. “There is still a group of soldiers fighting in the security quarter of the city, but they will not be able to reverse the situation,” Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman added.

Turkey is content that the opposition has captured Idlib. Our support for the FSA will continue,” a Turkish official told daily Hürriyet on condition of anonymity. The official also stressed it is wrong to credit only al-Nusra for the success, which “boosted” the FSA’s morale.

The 'jihadist' group al-Nusra also announced the capture of the northwestern city on its official Twitter account. Hmmmm......Flashback: Turkey removes Al Nusra from Al-Qaeda terrorist list. I guess that was the first step to 'white wash' their terrorist buddies. :) Now called 'Jihadis' !

Netanyahu: "Iran is trying to ‘conquer Middle East’, Nuclear deal worse then we feared". (AA).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned on Sunday the framework Iranian nuclear agreement being sought by international negotiators, saying it was even worse than his country had feared.

Noting advances made by Iranian-allied forces in Yemen and other Arab countries, Netanyahu accused the Islamic republic of trying to "conquer the entire Middle East" while moving toward nuclearization.

Israel has campaigned against the talks, arguing that they would ease sanctions on Tehran while leaving it with the basic infrastructure necessary to build a nuclear bomb. The Iranians say their nuclear program is peaceful.

"This deal, as it appears to be emerging, bears out all of our fears, and even more than that," Netanyahu told his cabinet in Jerusalem as six world powers and Iran worked toward a March 31 deadline in Switzerland.

"I have just come from a conversation with US Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. Over the weekend I spoke with US Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid. I heard from both of them about strong and continuing bipartisan support for Israel and of course this is very important. I expressed to them our deep concern over the agreement being formulated with Iran in the nuclear talks. This agreement, as it appears, confirms all of our concerns and even more so," Netanyahu told his cabinet in Jerusalem as the sides in Lausanne worked toward a March 31 deadline.

"Even as meetings proceed on this dangerous agreement, Iran's proxies in Yemen are overrunning large sections of that country and are attempting to seize control of the strategic Bab-el-Mandeb straits which would affect the naval balance and the global oil supply.

Israel meanwhile kept up its public campaign against the possible nuclear deal with Tehran.

"I say here, this morning, in the name of the government of Israel, this is a bad deal, full of holes," Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz told Israel Radio. "The Iran-Lausanne-Yemen axis is very dangerous to humanity, and must be stopped," he said. Hmmm......'By their fruits you will know them'. Read the full story here.
