Qatar: "New Syria envoy must have mandate to negotiate power transfer."(AA).Arab states will not accept a new international envoy to Syria after Kofi Annan’s resignation unless his or her mandate is to clearly negotiate a transfer of power, Qatar’s prime minister said on Saturday. “We, as Arab countries will not accept another envoy representing the Arabs and the Security Council because the circumstances have completely changed,” Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani told Al-Jazeera of the outgoing U.N. and Arab League envoy, whose six-point plan for peace was never implemented. “We believe that the task of any new envoy - if they want participation from Arab states - much be changed so that the mission is the peaceful transfer of power in Syria.” “Arab nations will not accept a new envoy with the same mandate that was given to Annan.” “The only acceptable designation is working on the peaceful transfer of power in Syria.” Sheikh Hamad said he had contacted U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi and Annan himself to inform them of this decision. “The six-point plan is over,” he said in comments published on the Doha-based Al Jazeera channel’s website. “The plan must clearly be modified” after “none of it was implemented,” he said.Hmmmm.....All Hail the Muslim Brotherhood?Read the full story here.
Palestinians to renew U.N. statehood drive in September.(AA).The Palestinians will next month renew a bid to upgrade their status at the United Nations, their foreign minister said on Saturday, a move which could strengthen their statehood claims after talks with Israel stalled. Palestinians are listed as a U.N. observer “entity” with no voting rights. They will ask to be made a non-member observer state at the U.N. General Assembly on Sept. 27, Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki told reporters in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Such status, akin to the Vatican’s, would be an indirect recognition of their claims on statehood in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip.
It would allow them to join a number of U.N. agencies, as well as the International Criminal Court. The Palestinians say Israeli settlement-building on occupied West Bank land has stymied prospects for a bilateral statehood deal. Disagreement over the issue led to negotiations stalling in 2010. Malki said President Mahmoud Abbas would make the status request in a speech and the Palestinians would then lobby for support among U.N. member states, many of which are sympathetic to the campaign and regard the West Bank settlements as illegal. “When we are sure we have won absolute support from the largest possible number of states, we will be ready to request that the General Assembly vote on such a draft resolution,” Malki said. A simple majority vote in the 193-member General Assembly would be enough to bestow non-member observer status, bypassing the Security Council - where the United States, Israel’s ally, has a veto. “We are looking forward to getting 180 votes,” Malki said. “We will become a non-member (observer) state in 2012.”Hmmmmm........Counting on the re-election of Barack HUSSEIN Obama.......are we?Read the full story here.

Polish President Calls Cooperation with U.S. over Missile Defense ‘Mistake’.(RN).Poland needs its own missile defense shield while the agreement with the United States on the deployment of an anti-ballistic-missile defense system on its territory was “a mistake,” Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said in an interview with the Wprost magazine, published on Saturday. “We must have this element of the Polish defense [missile defense system]. Spending large sums on military hardware is actually meaningless if it is not secured from… the missile attack and air raids,” Komorowski said, adding that Polish shield must be a part of the existing European missile defense system. The president also said that the agreement to deploy the U.S. anti-ballistic-missile defense system on the Polish territory which was later scrapped by the U.S. President Barack Obama, has been “a political mistake” that should not be repeated in future.
“Our mistake was that while accepting the U.S. proposal, we have not taken into account a political risk related to the change of the U.S. president. We have paid a too high political price for that,” Komorowski told the magazine. The United States scrapped plans in September of 2010 for an anti-ballistic-missile defense system in the Czech Republic and Poland. Moscow welcomed the move, and Russia’s then-President Dmitry Medvedev said later that Russia would drop plans to deploy Iskander-M tactical missiles in its Kaliningrad Region, which borders NATO members, Poland and Lithuania. Last year, however, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced Washington's plans to deploy the U.S. new-generation ballistic missile defense interceptor site in Poland by 2018.Hmmmmm.......More "CHANGE".Read the full story here.
Palestinian Model: Hitler’s Children, “the Jungvolk”.(INN).By Giulio Meotti. What is the Palestinian Arab model for children? Hitler’s “Children’s Army” at the end of World War II.
Terrorist Dalal Mughrabi, who in 1978 masterminded Israel’s most lethal terror attack (killing 37 people, 12 of them children), has been hailed again as a hero and role model by the Palestinian Authority, which has found another way to honor the terrorist's memory by naming a children’s camp in Jericho after her. It is the Sisters of Dalal Mughrabi camp in Jericho, funded by Fatah and revealed by Palestinian Media Watch.
It's amazing that nobody, not the media, the White House, Bruxelles or the United Nations, protested against this diabolic incitement to infanticide and most horrible form of childhood molestation. There is no precedent in the history of humanity for this child sacrifice. Like the Palestinian Arab willing “martyrs”, Hitler’s Children, “the Jungvolk”, were as young as 10, yet fought in the Third Reich. As the famous Palestinian Arab infant dressed in the outfit of a suicide bomber, with a scarf around the head and a belt of fake explosives around the waist, Hitler's Children looked pathetic standing in full sized uniforms and wearing helmets that were too large.
In the Palestinian Arab camp of Balata, overlooking the Jewish town of Itamar, the youngsters have replaced their Pokemon cards with necklaces with photos of suicide bombers. “These children are convinced that martyrdom is a holy thing, something worthy of the ultimate respect”, Munir Jabal, head of a Balata teachers association, declared a few years ago to the Toronto Star. “They worship these pictures. I think it will lead them in the future to go out and do the same thing”. This madness has become a plague in Palestinian Arab society. In other parts of the world, children wish to become football players. In Palestinian Authority areas, they want to blow themselves up to destroy the Jews.
In the PA areas today there are at least 100 dormitories, schools, roads, sports arenas and events named after 50 different terrorists. Children learn that "martyrdom is a beautiful thing" and that "nothing could be better than going to paradise". A poem in a sixth-grade reading book says, "I see my death, but I hasten my steps toward it". Just as today in the Mughrabi-named camps, Hitler's Jungvolk had hikes and rallies, camping expeditions and singsongs. The Jungvolk was magnetic with its marching and singing, its martyrdom indoctrination, its ideological pomp, its jubilant Teutonic renaissance and religious mysticism. Like the Palestinian Arab "martyrs", the Jungvolk was most naively fanatical. The imagery of martyrdom that Hitler unleashed became epidemic. Hitler's Children's Army and Palestinian Authority Children's Camps both live to die. The Jungvolk has been immortalized in the Hitler’s last photograph: the Führer has the coat collar turned up, one arm shaking as a result of Parkinson’s disease, mumbling words of encouragement to his Children's Army. Hitler's Jungvolk was ordered to hold Berlin's Pichelsdorf Bridge over the River Havel. Today's Palestinian Arab youth is taught that they must ensure that no Jews will walk between Jerusalem and Afula. The goal is the same: to expunge an entire people - the Jews - from the face of earth. Read the full story here.

"You didn't Build that Island" - Obama Fundraisers to Deny Thousands a Day at the Beach.(TCP).HT: WhiteHouseDossier. The popular Sherwood Island State Park in Westport will be closed Monday because President Barack Obama plans to use it as a helicopter base for his nearby campaign-fundraising stops. At the height of the summer vacation and beach season, the 238-acre beach on Long Island Sound will be shut down all day so the president can use the park to arrive for and depart from private, high-roller fundraising events, culminating with a $35,800-a-head gathering for the glitterati at movie mogul Harvey Weinstein's waterfront Westport manse.
Thousands of discouraged bathers may be turned away and the state will lose parking fees of $9 for state residents and $15 for out-of-state cars. House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk, charged Friday "it's outrageous" that the regional destination will be shut down for the entire day for private political reasons."Could you imagine if a Republican ever did such a thing? They'd be screaming from every corner," Cafero said.
"This is supposed to be the party and the president of the people? To close this state park in August for purely partisan political reasons is outrageous. People are going to be on their one-week vacation and they can't get into Sherwood Island?"Requests for comment from the White House were deferred to the Chicago-based Obama campaign, which did not reply. The Secret Service did not return a request for comment.State Sen. Toni Boucher, R-Wilton, whose district also includes Sherwood Island, said it would make more sense for the presidential chopper to land at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford or Tweed-New Haven. "I'm flabbergasted," she said Friday night. "It's unfathomable that someone would make that kind of decision. The perception will be that they're taking advantage of a public park for a private purpose. And they call Mitt Romney an elitist."Hmmmm....."When Mr. Obama says, "Everyone plays by the same set of rules," it means they conform to his rules. .Read the full story here.
"Chicago's love for Baseball Bats" - Some Turks call foul over Obama-Erdogan bat photo.(AA).A photograph of U.S. President Barack Obama holding a baseball bat while talking on the phone to Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan was intended to show their close relationship, a White House spokeswoman said, after the photo caused a stir in Turkey. The two leaders spoke on Monday to discuss the crisis in Syria, after which the photograph of Obama seated at his desk, talking on the phone while holding a bat autographed by black-American baseball great Hank Aaron, was released by the White House.
“The photo reveals from whom our Prime Minister receives orders to rule the country,” Metin Lutfi Baydar, a lawmaker with Turkey’s main opposition party the Republican People’s Party (CHP), said in a statement. CHP vice president Umut Oran asked through parliament if Erdogan had seen the picture and if he would take action against “an implicit insult to Turkey and its citizens”. Some newspapers took a more lighthearted view, with columnist Ahmet Hakan of Hurriyet writing: “We need to do something - retaliation seems to be the most reasonable method.” “Our prime minister needs to hold something in his hand as he’s calling Obama,” he added, suggesting as possible candidates a slipper, a belt or a rolling pin. White House spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said in a written statement on Friday that her department had seen the commentary and speculation about the photo in the Turkish media. “We released the photo with only one purpose in mind, to highlight the President’s continuing close relationship with Prime Minister Erdogan and draw attention to the important conversation they had about the worsening situation in Syria,” she said. Iran state TV: "48 Iranian pilgrims abducted in Damascus".(AA).Forty-eight Iranians were kidnapped while on a pilgrimage in the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday, their embassy’s consular chief in Damascus told Iran’s state television. “Armed terrorist groups kidnapped 48 Iranian pilgrims on their way to the airport,” Majid Kamjou told the IRIB network, which gave the report on its website. The embassy knows the whereabouts of the pilgrims and is pursuing “relevant channels” to free them, he added Meanwhile Syria’s state television channel reported that “armed terrorist groups” had kidnapped the pilgrims who were in a bus in the Damascus suburbs and said the relevant parties were dealing with the situation. Tehran is the staunchest ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whose forces are locked in a bloody conflict in Damascus and other cities against rebels his regime describes as "terrorists". Hundreds of thousands of Iranians travel each year to Syria to visit a Shi’ite pilgrimage site, the Shrine of Zaynab, in Damascus. This is not the first time Iranian pilgrims have been the target of kidnappings in Syria, where President Bashar al-Assad has been battling a 17-month-old revolt against his rule. Syrians opposed to Assad come mainly from the country’s Sunni Muslim majority, while Assad and his ruling family comes from the minority Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shi’ite Islam.Hmmmm.........John Wayne on 'Pilgrims': “I haven’t lost my temper in 40 years; but, Pilgrim, you caused a lot of trouble this morning; might have got somebody killed; and somebody oughta belt you in the mouth. Muslim Brotherhood Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi next target the UAE?Nervous Leaders Crack Down on Dissidents.
Muslim Brotherhood Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi next target the UAE?Nervous Leaders Crack Down on Dissidents.(EAWN).As the world watched the Arab Spring sweep away one Arab republican president after another, the Gulf monarchies appeared untouched by regional developments. Internationally, the Gulf States responded to these events by positioning themselves at the forefront of what has been referred to as the “counterrevolution.” Pursuing their own interests, namely re-establishing regional stability and gaining regional influence, the Gulf States both supported the popular protest movements and, at the same time, helped existing regimes crack down on their adversaries.
As the Arab Spring has continued, however, measures taken by the Gulf’s rulers to counter potential opposition to their own rule have remained in the shadows. While the oil-rich monarchies have been able to stave off opposition by generously distributing oil wealth to their citizenry, these countries remain receptive to the various ideological currents spreading in the Middle East. With the Arab Spring empowering Islamist groups in particular, the Gulf monarchies are now worried about the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and other opposition groups in their territories.
These concerns were reflected in the UAE’s recent wave of deportations and arrests of dissidents. Earlier this year, the UAE Emirate Dubai revoked the residence permits of Syrians, who staged a protest against Bashar Al-Assad in front of the Syrian consulate. After prominent Islamic cleric and Muslim Brotherhood affiliate Youssef Al-Qaradawi openly criticized the Emirate for deporting Syrian families, Dubai police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim threatened the popular cleric with arrest.
While criticizing the Assad regime for violently cracking down on demonstrators in Syria, Dubai has prohibited resident Syrians from staging protests. With Sunni Islamists making up a large segment of the Syrian opposition, the Emirate may fear that the political activities of Syrians in Dubai could embolden local oppositional forces.
In the last months, the UAE has further cracked down on potential opposition groups, arresting, deporting, or revoking the citizenship of dozens of Islamists.Hmmmm..........Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi 'relation' to Huma Abedin.....Huma Abedin has a brother named Hassan Abedin who works at Oxford University. Criticism In Iran Over Children Attending Public Executions.(Memri).Iran has the second-highest annual rate of executions in the world, after China. According to the regime, those executed are criminals convicted of felonies such as murder, rape and drug trafficking; human rights activists say that some are regime opponents. Moderate conservative circles in Iran recently criticized the Iranian public's enthusiasm for attending public hangings, particularly the practice of bringing children to watch them. Jafar Mohammadi, editor of the moderate conservative website Asr-e Iran, wrote in an article that the public's appetite for this activity was a sign of social sickness. He also warned that allowing children to watch executions could cause them irreparable damage, and urged the authorities to intervene to keep them away.
An article on another moderate conservative website, Asr-e Emrooz, likewise warned of the psychological damage that could be caused to children, and called on the regime to outlaw the practice. The deputy head of the judicial system, Ebrahim Raisi, rejected the criticism, saying: "[The punishment of] public execution is imposed by a judge, who weighs all the aspects, [including] the social climate, before imposing it. According to the police and the intelligence ministry, the firmness of the judicial branch in [combating] social and economic corruption strengthens security in [our] society."
Recently, Bushehr governor Mohammad Hossein Jahanbakhsh recently called on the regime to televise hangings so as to "teach a lesson to those who disrupt the public order." The following are the excerpts from the two articles: Editor of Asr-e Iran: A Healthy Society Does Not Hunger To Watch Executions In his article, Jafar Mohammadi wrote: "This morning, four rapists were executed in Tehran... There is no doubt that these people must be punished... But there are some points that must not be ignored. First, here is Mehr's report on the execution: "'It's four AM, and pouring with rain. [Nevertheless], the streets leading to the place of execution are packed with police cars and with local people who have come to watch the sentence being carried out. The closer we get, the more crowded it is, with youngsters and teenagers forming the majority of spectators.' "'
I asked one of the locals if he knew who was being executed that day, and he replied that the previous day, large posters had gone up announcing the [upcoming] execution of four rapists and criminals, and that since then the rumor had spread through the neighborhood like wildfire and had also been conveyed via text messages to others. He added: "My house is right across from the place of execution, and I can report that over 100 people had already gathered there at 10:00 PM last night. As you can see, it is now 4:00 AM, and we have about 3,000 people here."'
"Now we come to the question that sociologists must address out of concern [for society]: Why does the public hunger to watch executions? This is not the first time [we have seen] the public, in Tehran and other cities, displaying such enthusiasm for execution ceremonies, as if money were being distributed at these [events]. Is the sight of some criminals dying so appealing that people [are willing to] wait from midnight until dawn, even in the rain, and to forgo sleep, just to see them executed, and also film [the event]? Many people even climb onto walls and utility poles so they don't miss a single moment. "An examination of the reasons that cause this hunger, along with the increase of violence in society, can explain [this phenomenon]. It makes no sense for a healthy society to exhibit such an intense hunger to watch executions... A father takes his five-year-old daughter or young son, and even buys them ice cream on the way, and then forces them to watch the cruel moments of execution – what sort of message is he giving them? "[Even] if public executions have some benefit, families must be warned about the psychological impact of allowing children and teenagers to watch them. If parents take their children [to executions] out of stupidity, or because they do not know their role [as parents], the police should turn them away from the place of execution – because young children who have committed no crime should not have to witness the scene of death and suffer their whole lives because they saw this unforgettable [sight]. Protecting Iran's children is more important than executing criminals."Read the full story here.
After a tempest, fishermen do not find only fish in their nets. That is what happens to Jafaar, a poor fisherman who lives poorly in Gaza. And what he hauls in is really upsetting : imagine that, a pig! An unclean animal judged impure not only by the Faith of Islam but also by the Jewish religion. Determined to get rid of the animal, Jafaar tries desperately to sell it, first to a United Nations official, then to a Jewish colony where Yelena raises pigs not for their meat but for security reasons. Of course, going unnoticed in the company of a "forbidden" animal, among his Palestinian brothers, past Israeli soldiers and under the scrutiny of Islamic fundamentalists is no bed of roses and a series of misadventures await Jafaar.More parts can be found here(German)
Going Back in the 'Political Roots' - Obama, Jarrett, and Axelrod, All Connected to Communist Frank Marshall Davis.
Going Back in the 'Political Roots' - Obama, Jarrett, and Axelrod, All Connected to Communist Frank Marshall Davis.(TrevorLoudon).Paul Kengor PhD, author of The Communist, a biography of Barack Obama‘s boyhood mentor and ardent communist, Frank Marshall Davis, has penned an important article for The American Spectator.
It seems that not only Obama was connected to Frank Marshall Davis, but the president’s two most trusted friends and advisers Valerie Jarrett and David Axelrod, can also trace their political heritage back to Davis and the Chicago Communist Party USA of the 1940s.
From The American Spectator:
As readers of this site are aware, I’ve just published a book on Barack Obama’s mentor, Frank Marshall Davis. No president in the long history of this republic has had a mentor like Obama’s. Frank Marshall Davis was a literal — and I mean literal — card-carrying member of Communist Party USA. I publish Davis’s Communist Party number (47544) on the cover of the book, and fill an appendix with declassified FBI documents and Soviet archival material. Those documents reveal a Davis so suspicious that he was placed on the federal government’s Security Index, which meant he could be immediately arrested if war broke out between the United States and USSR. With that sort of pro-Soviet influence throughout his adolescence (1970-79), Barack Obama would have trouble getting a security clearance for an entry-level government job, let alone sit in the Oval Office. The group’s objective (in 1940) was to stop the United States from entering the war against Hitler. Why? Because Hitler had signed a non-aggression pact with Stalin, and American communists, being loyal Soviet patriots who literally swore allegiance to the USSR, saluted Stalin.
Nonetheless, Obama sits in that Oval Office today thanks to four factors: the American voter, a scandalously biased media, a skillful election strategy charted by David Axelrod, and the careful nurturing of Valerie Jarrett.
And most remarkable, Axelrod’s and Jarrett’s backgrounds and mentors connect to Obama’s background and mentor in a most intriguing way. It’s a stunning story, hard to believe. Follow closely:
Frank Marshall Davis, like Obama, found himself, his career, and his political calling in Chicago. It was there in the 1940s that he first began working for communist front-groups, joined the Communist Party, and wrote for and became the founding editor-in-chief of the Chicago Star, the city’s Communist Party newspaper — where Davis kicked off the newspaper with a column (July 6, 1946) pledging to advance “fundamental change.” In these capacities, Davis, Obama’s mentor, would work with the political ancestors of David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett.
I lay that out at length in the book, with all the documentation. Here, I will try to be brief and to the point.
In 1940, Frank Marshall Davis got involved in one of the worst communist fronts: the American Peace Mobilization. Congress called the group “one of the most notorious and blatantly communist fronts ever organized in this country” and “one of the most seditious organizations which ever operated in the United States.”
One of the first examples I found of Frank Marshall Davis getting noticed by Congress was a 1944 Congressional report listing his involvement in the American Peace Mobilization. That same report also cited the involvement of a fellow Chicagoan named Robert Taylor. Taylor was the grandfather of Valerie Jarrett. There is no doubt that Barack Obama was marked out for high office at an early age.
Taylor also served with Davis on another communist front, the Chicago Civil Liberties Committee, whose members masqueraded as civil-rights crusading “progressives.” The two served on the board together.
Both Taylor and Davis would have frequently encountered another politically active Chicagoan, Vernon Jarrett. Vernon Jarrett and Frank Marshall Davis worked together on the small publicity team of the communist-controlled Packinghouse Workers Union, which Frank Marshall Davis publicly called for nationalizing. Vernon Jarrett would one day become Valerie Jarrett’s father-in-law.
So, here we have Obama’s mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, working with the literal relatives of Valerie Jarrett — all serving together in Chicago’s Communist Party circles in the 1940s.
And what about David Axelrod?
Axelrod is a native New Yorker who, in the 1970s, found himself and his political calling in Chicago, where he went to college and worked for newspapers as a political journalist. (See my March 2012 Spectator profile of David Axelrod.) There, Axelrod was mentored by the Canter family, namely David Canter. The Canter family’s Soviet/communist roots were deep. David and his family had lived in Moscow just before Chicago. His father, Harry Canter, worked there as an official translator of Lenin’s writings. Harry, who had been secretary of the Boston Communist Party and ran for governor of Massachusetts on the Communist Party ticket, did this as a literal employee of Stalin’s government.
After that service to the Soviets, the Canter crew headed to Chicago, a hot-bed for American communists. They worked with Frank Marshall Davis in writing communist propaganda for the Packinghouse Workers Union, in teaching at the communist Abraham Lincoln School, in marching in Chicago’s May Day parades, and in the pages of the Chicago Star. In fact, when Davis and his comrades sold the Chicago Star to something called the Progressive Publishing Company in September 1948, Harry Canter was one of the small group of board members doing the purchase.
There are several key names here. Let me sum up:
Frank Marshall Davis mentored Barack Obama. The Canter family mentored David Axelrod, who got Obama elected president. Vernon Jarrett’s daughter-in-law is Valerie Jarrett, and Robert Taylor was Valerie Jarrett’s grandfather. Jarrett is Obama’s top presidential adviser. In other words, Obama’s political ancestor worked with the political ancestors of Axelrod and Jarrett.
Oh, and they all called themselves progressives.
Amazing, but true. You can’t make this up. The ghosts of Chicago’s political past are alive and well in Washington today. Today’s political family at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue can be traced back to the political family of Chicago in the 1940s. It’s all in the (political) Roots.
It is also undeniable that pro-Soviet communists worked to enable Obama at almost every step of his career.
