"It is an inappropriate situation when men and women watch football in (movie) theatres together," said Bahman Kargar, Iran's deputy police commander in charge of social affairs, according to the ISNA news agency. "Men, while watching football, get excited and sometimes utter vulgar curses or tell dirty jokes," he said. "It is not within the dignity of women to watch football with men. Women should thank the police" for the ban. The Euro 2012 games underway in Poland and Ukraine are being aired on state television in football-mad Iran. They are also being shown in movie theatres as a continuation of a practice that became popular for couples and families during the 2010 World Cup and the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. Many among Iran's hardline authorities and clerics favour segregation of the sexes and find the mingling of unrelated men and women to be corrupting. Women have to use women-only swimming pools, beaches and parks across the Islamic republic. Women can travel in the back of public buses, or use women-only taxi cabs or cars on the metro. All school classes, as well as some in universities, are segregated in Iran. Women are also required by law to observe an Islamic dress code, with those improperly wearing their mandatory headscarves or dressed in "vulgar" attires being confronted by Iran's so-called morality police.Read the full story here.

Saudi clerics to mull whether Syrian women can abort pregnancies from rape.(AA).Syrian women raped by gang-like militia or forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad should be allowed to undergo abortion according to a Saudi cleric. Sheikh Ali al-Maliki described rape as one of the most heinous crimes against women and one that is worse than murder. “A body’s scars can heal but scars of the soul stay,” he told Al Arabiya. His fatwa is the result of a heated debate between religious scholars in Saudi Arabia after families of rape victims from the bloody-conflict in Syria urged Islamic scholars to issue an edict allowing women to abort pregnancies that result from rape.
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Abd al-Aziz al-Sheikh, is scheduled to meet with the Council of Senior Muslim Scholars in the next two days to cast a verdict on the subject. “In my opinion the scholars in the kingdom will allow abortion in light of the calamities befallen on Syrian ... An honorable woman raped by Shabiha men cannot bear the birth of an illegitimate child,” he said. Various Islamic schools of thoughts have differing opinions on abortion which vary from a complete ban on the procedure to allowing it under specific conditions, like within a designated period of the first trimester. Top Iranian Commander Warns Europe about Al-Qaeda's Revival in Mediterranean.(Fars).Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi warned the European countries about the revival of the terrorist al-Qaeda group in Southeast Mediterranean region, describing it more dangerous than even atomic weapons. "The Wahhabies, who consider the followers of all sects and branches of Islam as infidels and their killing as halal (permitted religiously), naturally will not ignore killing the Christians and Jews," Firouzabadi warned on Monday. He said that the world arrogance, spearheaded by the US, which itself created the Taliban and the al-Qaeda and was then hurt by the two and now claims that it is fighting the al-Qaeda in Pakistan, is actually reviving the al-Qaeda terrorist group in Syria and Lebanon. Cautioning that a big strategic danger is being posed to the world, Firouzabadi said, "The danger of the al-Qaeda's revival on the Southeastern coasts of the Mediterranean to Europe is bigger than the danger of atomic weapons."
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country. Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad. In October, calm was eventually restored in the Arab state after President Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but Israel, the US and its Arab allies are seeking hard to bring the country into chaos through any possible means. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots in the hope of increasing unrests in Syria. Earlier reports said that Qatar, supported by the US, funded an infamous al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist and sent him to Syria at the head of a team to stir unrests in the country before his reported death, informed sources revealed. Informed sources said that the Qatari team of terrorists had entered Syria form the country's Northern borders with Lebanon, adding that the terrorists were led by Abdel-Ghani Jawhar, an al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist, who was contracted by Qatar to lead the team for a $4 million payment.
Abdel-Ghani Jawhar, Lebanon's most wanted militant terrorist, was active in Syria, the sources said, adding that he was organizing suicide attacks and assisting rebel groups in the Arab country before his alleged death. The Examiner quoted a Telegraph report on April 25, alleging that Abdel-Ghani Jawhar was killed while planting bombs for the rebel movement in Syria in his attempts to kill people. The report raised renewed concerns about the deadly influence of Sunni radicals in the armed rebel groups being funded by the United States to overthrow President Assad of Syria. According to the Telegraph, the terrorist was killed in Qusayr, near the city of Homs, which is literally crawling with extremist and terrorist agents hired and contracted by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Jawhar was the head of Fatah-al-Islam, a militant group that had fought the official Lebanese army and other militias. The group has ties with al-Qaeda, and is certainly part of a wider network of militant Sunni groups involved in the Syrian opposition Fatah-al-Islam, fights under the black flag of al-Qaeda.
The remarks came days after the US daily, Washington Post, reported that the Syrian rebels and terrorist groups battling the President Bashar al-Assad's government have received significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, a crime paid for by the Persian Gulf Arab states and coordinated by the United States. The newspaper, quoting opposition activists and US and foreign officials, reported that Obama administration officials emphasized the administration has expanded contacts with opposition military forces to provide the Persian Gulf nations with assessments of rebel credibility and command-and-control infrastructure.
According to the report, material is being stockpiled in Damascus, in Idlib near the Turkish border and in Zabadani on the Lebanese border. Opposition activists who two months ago said the rebels were running out of ammunition said this week that the flow of weapons - most bought on the black market in neighboring countries or from elements of the Syrian military in the past - has significantly increased after a decision by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Persian Gulf states to provide millions of dollars in funding each month. Recent reports coming from Syria suggested that various enemy plots are underway to spoil Annan's peace mission in Syria to bring the Muslim country back into turmoil and pave the way for an overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's government. These enemy states lead and back up various terrorist operations, including acts of sabotage and kidnapping, and use soft war tactics, including psychological operations and threats, through dissident expatriates and armed groups inside the country to deepen turmoil in Syria and bring Annan's peace plan into failure as they want to see an overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's government and the rise to power of a pro-western state.Hmmmmm..........Obama "The War on Terror Is Over".Read the full story here.

European Data Protection Supervisor Smart meters are 'massive surveillance' tech.(TR).The European Data Protection Supervisor has warned that smart meters are a significant privacy threat and wants limits on the retention and use of customer data before it's too late. The EDPS is an independent authority figure tasked with identifying where EU policies might represent a risk to privacy. He reckons next-generation meters, which precisely monitor electricity use within homes, are a very likely candidate unless his concerns are addressed ahead of time.
Peter Hustinx, who fills the role with the assistance of Giovanni Buttarelli, admits there are advantages of smart metering, but warns that the technology will "also enable massive collection of personal data which can track what members of a household do within the privacy of their own homes".
He pulls up examples of baby monitors and medical devices, which have identifiable patterns of energy consumption and could therefore be used to monitor what people are doing. That might sound fanciful, but researchers have already demonstrated that the pattern of energy consumed by a decent flat-screen TV can be used to work out what programme is being watched, and Hustinx is probably right that this isn't information most of us would wish to share with our electricity providers. Smart meters need to collect all that data in order to reduce our reliance on power - it's now an article of faith that once we know how much energy we're using we'll magically reduce that consumption, so the EU is committed to mandating smart meters by 2020. Therefore the EDPS thinks we need legislation now, before it's too late, stating what the data can be used for and how long it can be retained.The UK's Department of Energy and Climate Change has taken some steps in this direction, promising that collected data won't be shared with third parties, and requiring decent security to prevent it being stolen, but even that stops short of the limitations suggested by the EDPS.Read the full story here.

This is what local sources told Vatican news agency Fides, pointing out that since the conflict broke out, only a thousand of the city’s ten thousand faithful, were left and they are now being forced to flee immediately. Some of the city’s mosques have issued the message again, announcing from the minarets: “Christians must leave Qusayr within six days, ending Friday.”
The ultimatum therefore expired on 8 June and spread fear among the Christian population which had started to regain hope as a result of the presence of the Jesuit Fr. Paolo Dall’Oglio, who stopped off in Qusayr for a week to “pray and fast in the name of peace, right in the midst of conflict.” The reasons for this ultimatum remain a mystery. Some say it is necessary in order to protect faithful from further suffering; other sources reveal “a continuity in discrimination and selective repression.”
Others still claim that Christians have openly expressed their loyalty to the state and this is why the opposition army is chasing them away. Now Christian families in Qusayr have begun their exodus as displaced persons, towards the surrounding valleys and rural areas. Some have taken refuge in parents’ and friends’ homes in Damascus. Very few families have courageously decided to stay behind in their birth city but who knows what fate will meet. Fides sources have reiterated that groups of Salafi Islamic extremists within the armed opposition consider Christians as “infidels”; they confiscate their belongings, carry out mass executions and are ready to declare a “denominational war”.Hmmmm..........“Violence does not build up the kingdom of God, the kingdom of humanity. They tried this mistake twice in South Lebanon and several times in Gaza, in an area of no more than several square kilometers, and they failed. The 19-year-old woman, Sevil Sevimli, who has lived in France since she was born, came to the central Anatolian province of Eskişehir 10 months ago as part of a university exchange program after she decided it was a good opportunity to get to know her original homeland, Turkey, better. Six students including Sevimli were arrested in Eskişehir on May 10 during operations against the DHKP/C terrorist organization. The woman has been accused of attending a concert by the left-wing band "Grup Yorum" held in Istanbul on April 12, participating in May 1 celebrations, hanging a banner for free education and more, according to Sevimli's lawyer. "I am a leftist person, I was reading all the leftist journals in France," Sevimli said. "I hung a banner at school once after I heard about the campaign for free education conducted by Turkish students, as I know the economic problems. It is not an illegal action. "Finally" - Zeal of Turkey’s ruling Islamists worries EU diplomats.(AA).European Union diplomats are expressing growing concern at what they see as the increasingly militant stance taken by Turkey’s ruling Islamists. They accuse Ankara of using probes into alleged plots against the government as a tool to jail and silence opponents and compromise the country’s secular credentials by introducing Koran studies in public schools. 
Other measures include lowering the age at which parents can send their children to Islamic religious schools, increasing pressure on those criticizing Islam and restricting abortion. Turkish authorities accuse the so-called Ergenekon network of being behind several plots to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Dozens of retired or serving senior military figures, intellectuals, lawyers and journalists have been put behind bars.
On Thursday Stefan Fuele, European commissioner for enlargement, cited this and other obstacles in the way of Turkey’s membership bid while in Istanbul for talks. “I have used this meeting to convey our concerns about the increasing detention of lawmakers, academics and students and the freedom of press and journalists,” he said. Changes due to take effect when the new academic year starts this autumn also have also ruffled feathers. The Islamist-rooted ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government is introducing Quran lessons. And from the end of primary school, more parents will be able to opt out of the secular education system and send their children to Islamic religious schools. Previously these schools could not recruit children under the age of 15: now children as young as 11 will be allowed to attend. 
There is concern too over plans by state broadcaster TRT to launch a religious channel and proposals for prayer rooms in newly built public buildings such as creches, theatres and even opera houses. “A series of recent moves show that the conservative tendency has the upper hand and faces no opposition,” said Marc Pierini, a former head of the EU diplomatic team in Turkey. “Civil society exists, but it is hardly audible,” said one Ankara-based diplomat. “The media are for the most part directly or indirectly controlled by the AKP and the opposition is powerless,” the diplomat added.
Plans to restrict the abortion laws and other moves that critics say will would make Islam a more visible part of daily life are added areas of concern. Turkey’s acclaimed composer and pianist Fazil Say faces trial in October on charges of insulting religious values in a series of provocative tweets about Islam. If convicted, he could face up to 18 months in prison. In April, Say told the Hurriyet daily that he felt completely ostracized by Turkish society since having declared that he was an atheist, an experience that for him highlighted a growing culture of intolerance.
One European diplomat in Istanbul remarked: “It’s not just the fact that he is being put on trial, but also what the pro-government newspaper Sabah says, which has made a hero out of the guy who denounced him.” Sabah has lavished praise on the person who alerted the authorities to Say’s comments on Twitter, with one headline describing him as “The man who gives no respite to the enemies of Islam”. Erdogan has also just announced that a giant mosque is to be built on one of Istanbul’s most hills, which will become one of the city’s most visible landmarks. "Harakiri" - Flame Operators Command Software to Remove Itself from Infected Machines to Make Further Analysis More Difficult.(CIO).Via: Cryptogon.The creators of the Flame cyber-espionage threat ordered infected computers still under their control to download and execute a component designed to remove all traces of the malware and prevent forensic analysis, security researchers from Symantec said on Wednesday. Flame has a built-in feature called SUICIDE that can be used to uninstall the malware from infected computers. 
However, late last week, Flame’s creators decided to distribute a different self-removal module to infected computers that connected to servers still under their control, Symantec’s security response team said in a blog post. The module is called browse32.ocx and its most recent version was created on May 9, 2012. “It is unknown why the malware authors decided not to use the SUICIDE functionality, and instead make Flamer perform explicit actions based on a new module,” the Symantec researchers said. However, even though it is similar in functionality to the SUICIDE feature — both being able to delete a large number of files associated with the malware — the new module goes a step further. “It locates every [Flame] file on disk, removes it, and subsequently overwrites the disk with random characters to prevent anyone from obtaining information about the infection,” the Symantec researchers said. “This component contains a routine to generate random characters to use in the overwriting operation. Egypt’s Mubarak in critical condition, ‘slipping in, out of consciousness’.(AA).Ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak’s health is in critical condition, with reports that he is slipping in and out of consciousness, a security official said on Sunday. Mubarak was sent to prison on June 2 to begin serving a life sentence after being found guilty of failing to stop the killing of protesters during the uprising that overthrew him in 2011. Since then, his health has been rapidly deteriorating, according to Egyptian media reports, with rumors of his death spreading rapidly. “The former president’s health is in decline, but now it’s stable in its deteriorated state,” an Egyptian official told The Associated Press news agency. Authorities have granted his wife, former first lady Suzanne Mubarak, and the couple’s two daughters-in-law special permission to visit him in Cairo’s Torah prison early on Sunday. Since his wife’s visit, Mubarak has suffered from an irregular heartbeat and required assistance in breathing, AP reported. The official told AP that the former president now lives only on liquids and yogurt. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. On Wednesday, prison sources told Al Arabiya that Mubarak’s health is “severely deteriorating.” Sources inside Cairo’s Tora said that Mubarak collapsed following visits on Monday by his wife Suzanne, and his sons Alaa and Gamal. His wife reportedly sobbed after she saw him in a prison suit. Alaa was reportedly moved to a cell near his father, whose personal doctors were not allowed to oversee his health condition. Egypt’s state news agency said “the severe deterioration in the former president’s condition” prompted prison staff to bring in a medical team from the interior ministry. He was given sedatives and placed under observation, it added. It said the family visit, the first since his sentencing, caused him to suffer from depression, prompting him to stop eating. Mubarak’s health is reported to have collapsed since his June 2 conviction. His life sentence saw him transferred immediately to a prison hospital, instead of the military hospital and other facilities where he had been held since his April 2011 arrest. Mubarak’s two sons Alaa and Gamal, who are still in detention, were acquitted on June 2 of corruption charges, but still face separate charges of insider trading. Authorities have turned down several requests by Mubarak’s family to transfer the ousted president back to a military facility, the official said. On Saturday Mubarak’s wife was denied access to the Intensive Care Unit where he was placed, as authorities limit family visitations to one a month. A U.S. ArmyReserve vessel that struck an object and began taking on water late Friday night grounded on a small island near Kodiak to avoid sinking, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

According to Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Grant DeVuyst and radio station KMXT, the crew of the landing craft Monterrey, assigned to the 481st Transportation Company in Vallejo, Calif., placed a mayday call after the vessel hit Humpback Rock in Chiniak Bay at 10:16 p.m.

Maj. Annmarie Daneker, an Army Reserve media relations officer, said the Monterrey’s crew of 16 to 18 people subsequently grounded on Puffin Island at the request of the Coast Guard.

An Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter launched at 10:44 p.m. to assist the Monterrey, and the good Samaritan fishing vessels Resolution and Peggy Joe also responded to the scene. Two Monterrey crew members with minor injuries were transported to Kodiak aboard the Peggy Joe.

The Coast Guard says the Monterrey may be carrying up to 40,000 gallons of diesel fuel. Two tanks aboard the 174-foot landing craft were reportedly damaged and leaking 15,291 gallons of fuel, and the Coast Guard has contracted with Alaska Chadux Corp. to contain and clean up the leak.

DeVuyst said Alaska Chadux’s initial steps include setting up three containment booms around the Monterrey, in the area of the spill and around the mouth of the Buskin River. The firm has also contracted a skimming vessel to clean up oil between the Monterrey’s initial impact point and the site of its grounding.
A report from the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation suggested that the damaged tank had completely emptied. Four response vessels were on scene as of noon Saturday, with an estimated 3,000 total feet of containment boom deployed so far.

In an interview with The Source, Director of the International and Terrorist Intelligence Program at INSIGNIS Strategic Research Inc. David Harris noted that textbooks issued by the Iranian Education Ministry have made their way into public Canadian schools. "Ottawa Carlton Public School Board, a publically funded school board had until 2011 allowed its courses in Farsi on the weekend to use Iranian Ministry of Education textbooks." Harris noted.
"These textbooks included hate literature that included the glorifying of a 13-year old child soldier who had strapped a grenade to himself and blown himself up under an Iraqi tank during the Iran-Iraq war. We've also seen multiple pictures of Ayatollah Khamenei." Harris noted that "these books were given to elementary school students, and even third graders," adding that "Israel of course was vilified. "The Israeli soldiers (in the book) looked ape-like and very much reminiscent of the popular Jihadist portrayal of Jews as the 'sons of apes,'" he said.
"There was a grade three text that portrayed a situation in which a six-year-old Palestinian was instructing his three-year-old brother how to stone Israeli soldiers, and then the passage ends with one of the soldiers beating the young child over the head with blood flowing everywhere." Asked whether Canadian Authorities have done anything to remove the textbooks, Harris noted that the response was unsatisfactory. "We know that some objections were made to senior board officials. The board has since issued a rather vague kind of statement (about) how they then did some sort of review and response to the objections and removed a few images, as they put it, in one story. "Iranian Canadians that have exposed this have emphasized their conviction that the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa in various senses was involved in facilitating this, thereby hijacking in effect an Ottawa Carlton School Board course," he noted. Canada has seen a few anti-Semitic incidents in the past year. In august, culprits sprayed anti-Semitic hate slogans in a synagogue in Toronto. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, United States President Barack Obama, and the European Union Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton became victims to the 'Occupation' mantra their own organization has repeated over and over in their propaganda campaign to legitimize the Arab position.



Continuous pressure by the "Quartet" (U.S., the European Union, the UN and Russia) to surrender parts of the Land of Israel are contrary to international law as stated in the "Mandate for Palestine" document, that in article 6 firmly call to "encourage ... close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes." It also requires, under Article 5 of the Mandate to "seeing that no Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of the government of any foreign power."




Any attempt by the World Leaders to negate the Jewish people's right to Palestine - Eretz-Israel, and to deny them access and control in the area designated for the Jewish people by the League of Nations, is a serious infringement of international law, and as such - illegitimate.


International Law - The "Mandate for Palestine"
The "Mandate for Palestine" an historical League of Nations document, laid down the Jewish legal right under international law to settle anywhere in western Palestine, the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, an entitlement unaltered in international law. Fifty-one member countries - the entire League of Nations - unanimously declared on July 24, 1922:
"Whereas recognition has been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country."
On June 30, 1922, a joint resolution of both Houses of Congress of the United States unanimously endorsed the "Mandate for Palestine":
"Favoring the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.
"Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That the United States of America favors the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which should prejudice the civil and religious rights of Christian and all other non-Jewish communities in Palestine, and that the holy places and religious buildings and sites in Palestine shall be adequately protected." [italics in the original]

Law of War - Arab Unlawful Acts of Aggression in 1948
Six months before the War of Independence in 1948, Palestinian Arabs launched a series of riots, pillaging, and bloodletting. Then came the invasion of seven Arab armies from neighboring states attempting to prevent the establishment of a Jewish state in accordance with the UN's 1947 recommendation to Partition Palestine, a plan the Arabs rejected.

The Jewish state not only survived, it came into possession of territories - land from which its adversaries launched their first attempt to destroy the newly created State of Israel.
Israel's citizens understood that defeat meant the end of their Jewish state before it could even get off the ground. In the first critical weeks of battle, and against all odds, Israel prevailed on several fronts.

The metaphor of Israel having her back to the sea reflected the image crafted by Arab political and religious leaders' rhetoric and incitement. Already in 1948 several car bombs had killed Jews, and massacres of Jewish civilians underscored Arab determination to wipe out the Jews and their state.

6,000 Israelis died as a result of that war, in a population of 600,000. One percent of the Jewish population was gone. In American terms, the equivalent is 3 million American civilians and soldiers killed over an 18-month period.

Israel's War of Independence in 1948 was considered lawful and in self-defence as may be reflected in UN resolutions naming Israel a "peace loving State" when it applied for membership at the United Nations. Both the Security Council (4 March, 1949, S/RES/69) and the UN General Assembly (11 May, 1949, (A/RES/273 (III)) declared:
"[Security Council] Decides in its judgment that Israel is a peace-loving State and is able and willing to carry out the obligations contained in the Charter ..."

Arab Unlawful Acts of Aggression in 1967
In June 1967, the combined armies of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan attacked Israel with the clear purpose expressed by Egypt's President: "Destruction of Israel." At the end of what is now known as the Six-Day War, Israel, against all odds, was victorious and in possession of the territories of Judea and Samaria [E.H., The West Bank], Sinai and the Golan Heights.
International law makes a clear distinction between defensive wars and wars of aggression. More than half a century after the 1948 War, and more than four decades since the 1967 Six-Day War, it is hard to imagine the dire circumstances Israel faced and the price it paid to fend off its neighbors' attacks.

Who Starts Wars Does Matter
Professor, Judge Stephen M. Schwebel, past President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) states the following facts:
"The facts of the June 1967 'Six Day War' demonstrate that Israel reacted defensively against the threat and use of force against her by her Arab neighbors. This is indicated by the fact that Israel responded to Egypt's prior closure of the Straits of Tiran, its proclamation of a blockade of the Israeli port of Eilat, and the manifest threat of the UAR's [The state formed by the union of the republics of Egypt and Syria in 1958] use of force inherent in its massing of troops in Sinai, coupled with its ejection of UNEF.

"It is indicated by the fact that, upon Israeli responsive action against the UAR, Jordan initiated hostilities against Israel. It is suggested as well by the fact that, despite the most intense efforts by the Arab States and their supporters, led by the Premier of the Soviet Union, to gain condemnation of Israel as an aggressor by the hospitable organs of the United Nations, those efforts were decisively defeated.
"The conclusion to which these facts lead is that the Israeli conquest of Arab and Arab-held territory was defensive rather than aggressive conquest."

Judge Sir Elihu Lauterpacht wrote in 1968, one year after the 1967 Six-Day War:
"On 5th June, 1967, Jordan deliberately overthrew the Armistice Agreement by attacking the Israeli-held part of Jerusalem. There was no question of this Jordanian action being a reaction to any Israeli attack. It took place notwithstanding explicit Israeli assurances, conveyed to King Hussein through the U.N. Commander, that if Jordan did not attack Israel, Israel would not attack Jordan.
"Although the charge of aggression is freely made against Israel in relation to the Six-Days War the fact remains that the two attempts made in the General Assembly in June-July 1967 to secure the condemnation of Israel as an aggressor failed. A clear and striking majority of the members of the U.N. voted against the proposition that Israel was an aggressor."

Israel Has the Better Title to the Territory of Palestine, Including the Whole of Jerusalem
International law makes it clear: All of Israel's wars with its Arab neighbors were in self-defence.
Professor, Judge Schwebel, wrote in What Weight to Conquest:
"(a) a state [Israel] acting in lawful exercise of its right of self-defense may seize and occupy foreign territory as long as such seizure and occupation are necessary to its self-defense;
"(b) as a condition of its withdrawal from such territory, that State may require the institution of security measures reasonably designed to ensure that that territory shall not again be used to mount a threat or use of force against it of such a nature as to justify exercise of self-defense;
"(c) Where the prior holder of territory had seized that territory unlawfully, the state which subsequently takes that territory in the lawful exercise of self-defense has, against that prior holder, better title.
"... as between Israel, acting defensively in 1948 and 1967, on the one hand, and her Arab neighbors, acting aggressively, in 1948 and 1967, on the other, Israel has the better title in the territory of what was Palestine, including the whole of Jerusalem, than do Jordan and Egypt."

"No legal Right Shall Spring from a Wrong"
Professor Schwebel explains that the principle of "acquisition of territory by war is inadmissible" must be read together with other principles:
"... namely, that no legal right shall spring from a wrong, and the Charter principle that the Members of the United Nations shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State."

Simply stated: Arab illegal aggression against the territorial integrity and political independence of Israel, cannot and should not be rewarded.

Professor Julius Stone, a leading authority on the Law of Nations, stated:
"Territorial Rights Under International Law.... By their [Arab countries] armed attacks against the State of Israel in 1948, 1967, and 1973, and by various acts of belligerency throughout this period, these Arab states flouted their basic obligations as United Nations members to refrain from threat or use of force against Israel's territorial integrity and political independence. These acts were in flagrant violation inter alia of Article 2(4) and paragraphs (1), (2), and (3) of the same article."

Thus, under international law Israel acted lawfully by exercising its right to self-defence when it redeemed and legally reoccupied Judea and Samaria, known also as the West Bank.
Legalities aside, before 1967 there were no Jewish settlements in the West Bank, and for the first ten years of so-called occupation there were almost no Jewish settlers in the West Bank. And still there was no peace with the Palestinians. The notion that Jewish communities pose an obstacle to peace is a red herring designed to blame Israel for lack of progress in the 'Peace Process' and enable Palestinian leadership to continue to reject any form of compromise and reconciliation with Israel as a Jewish state.

This is a history lesson that must be repeated over and over again so the "pundits" and the media finally GET IT! These facts have been conveniently forgotten – by Jews and non-Jews alike - in order to delegitimize Israel.

Why would Jews rather see Israel as a vassal of the Arab world than as an independent Jewish State is beyond all comprehension.

They have illustrated their attitude towards the murder of Israelis by their demand that every single Palestinian now being held by Israel be freed - not extradited for incarceration by the PA - regardless of what they did - and regardless of what press release the PA issued at the time that they carried out their crime.

#4. Our "peace partners" refuse to acknowledge for the record any details of the inventories of weapons held either in the West Bank or Gaza Strip by a multitude of official, semi-official and other armed groups.

#5. Our "peace partners" also refuse to address the issue of achieving compliance with the weapons restrictions that were set in in the various agreements. Again in simple English: there are literally hundreds of
thousands of illegal weapons out there - including rockets, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles - whose existence is a gross violation of the agreements, and our "peace partners" refuse to make any commitment to remove them or to recognize that they are obligated to do so in areas under their control today or that they hope to have under their control in the future (e.g. if Fatah-Hamas unity is achieved).

Equally disturbing: none of the above, at least judging by official statements of the the US or the Quartet, seems to be of any concern to the world at large.The opportunity for the Netanyahu administration: Abbas wants Israel to free murderers and give him more guns. Official: PA security forces need arms to keep peace.

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Palestinian Authority security forces require regular armaments and supplies in order to keep peace and order in the West Bank, a Fatah official said Friday.Jamal Muheisin told Ma'an that weapons used by security forces naturally wear out after a period of time and, like police forces in other countries, need to be replaced.
A large portion of arms used by Palestinian security forces were destroyed in the second Intifada during Israeli incursions into the West Bank, Muheisin said.President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday said he would open dialogue with Israel if it re-armed Palestinian security forces.
"We recently told them that if Israel accepted to free prisoners and allow us to re-arm the police then we would again sit at the same table as Netanyahu," Abbas said during a visit to Paris.
Israel regularly coordinates with PA security forces and has a say on the degree to which they are armed and deployed.The Palestinian Authority is prevented from developing conventional military forces by Israel, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said in the past that any future Palestinian state must be demilitarized.Israel's 2011 defense expenditure was about 6 percent of its GDP. Russian Foreign Minister: "Syria on Brink of Civil War" - Russian Arms for Syria No Threat to Protesters.(RN).The situation in Syria is teetering on the brink of full-fledged civil conflict, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday. “It looks like Syria is on the brink of civil conflict,” he said. At least 9,000 people have been killed in clashes between the government and opposition forces in Syria since the start of the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad last year, according to UN estimates. UN special envoy Kofi Annan said on Thursday his six-point peace plan aimed at stopping the violence in Syria is "not being implemented."
The presence of a group of UN observers also had little impact on the situation. Annan warned of an escalating crisis and laid responsibility for the atrocities on al-Assad’s regime. In order to help settle Syria’s ongoing political crisis, Russia has proposed a UN conference that will gather together the countries that have influence on Syria’s disparate forces. The five permanent members of the UN Security Council, Syria’s neighbors – Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey - should take part, as well as representatives of the League of Arab States, Lavrov said. He also said that Saudi Arabia and UN, EU diplomats should join the discussion. Lavrov spoke in favor of Iran’s participation in the conference. “All forces that have influence on Syria should take part in the conference to make it effective. And Iran is one of the counties having real influence on the Syrian government.
Earlier, the United States slammed the prospect of Iran’s role in the Syrian conflict settlement. “We would like the conference to be open, with explicit discussion that will show whether there is a possibility to agree on coordinated… measures towards both the Syrian government and all of the country’s opposition groups,” Lavrov said. Lavrov said disruptions in the implementation of Annan’s peace plan are to be blamed on the uncoordinated measures taken by outside forces. “Not only the Syrian government is responsible for what’s going on now, the crisis is also to be blamed on the actions of those people who have not stopped giving money to illegal armed groups, hire mercenaries, help transfer them abroad and flirt with extremists to reach their own goals.” Lavrov said that participants of the conference will discuss ways to improve the details of Annan’s peace plan. “I do not think it is out of date. Moreover all of its points remain vital,” he said. Moscow wants to hold this conference as soon as possible, but believes that expert meetings with representatives of other countries that also have influence on Syria should be held in advance of the conference. Lavrov said Moscow has enough information proving that outside forces are in control of the actions of the Syrian opposition. “We have enough data that they supply arms and other vital items to the opposition.”
The way the world is in future depends on the outcome of the Syrian crisis, the minister said. China and Russia have twice blocked UN condemnations and punitive actions against al-Assad’s regime. It’s D-Day and President Obama is hitting the beaches – of sunny California! Instead of scheduling a brief event to mark the 68th anniversary of America’s brutal landing on the shores of Normandy, Obama is already on his way to San Francisco, where he will hold two fundraisers before moving on to Beverly Hills to stage two more. Obama failed to mark D-Day with either a speech or a written proclamation both last year or the year before. He did give a speech in 2009, the 65th anniversary of the event. First Lady Michelle Obama, who has made much of her “Joining Forces” campaign to support military families, also has nothing planned for D-Day. She’ll be in New York City for a fundraiser and then in Philadelphia to meet with campaign volunteers. Obama’s failure to mark D-Day in any significant way is both a shame and a political mistake. According to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, two critical swing states – Florida and Pennsylvania, are among the top five states in terms of veterans’ population. Within the top twelve are four others – Michigan, Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina – all states Obama desperately needs to carry. Mossad: "Stuxnet is our Baby" Pres Obama disclosed it for electoral reasons.(TA).Israel’s officials have a message for anyone praising the CIA for its sophisticated cyber attack on Iran: It was our baby. The Stuxnet computer worm, described by David Sanger in The New York Times last week as an invention by the Bush administration, was actually developed by Mossad, according to Israeli officials speaking with Haaretz journalist Yossi Melman on condition of anonymity:
The Israeli officials actually told me a different version. They said that it was Israeli intelligence that began, a few years earlier, a cyberspace campaign to damage and slow down Iran’s nuclear intentions. And only later they managed to convince the USA to consider a joint operation — which, at the time, was unheard of.
The irony of course is that both U.S. and Israeli officials spent years denying knowledge of who carried out the attacks, which reportedly destroyed thousands of Iran’s centrifuges, ever since it became public in 2010. Now that it’s out, it’s time to claim credit! Of course, if you read Sanger’s account, he certainly doesn’t diminish the expertise of Israel’s spies:
Israel’s Unit 8200, a part of its military, had technical expertise that rivaled the N.S.A.’s, and the Israelis had deep intelligence about operations at Natanz that would be vital to making the cyberattack a success.
Regardless, these Israeli officials say Sanger’s account was too generous to the CIA. Amusingly, one of the officials tries to play it cool, in his remark to Melman:
My Israeli sources understand the sensitivity and the timing of the issue and are not going to be dragged into a battle over taking credit. “We know that it is the presidential election season,” one Israeli added, ”and don’t want to spoil the party for President Obama and his officials, who shared in a twisted and manipulated way some of the behind-the-scenes secrets of the success of cyberwar.”
Translation: We don’t need to tell anyone we’re the ones responsible for Stuxnet, but just so you know, we’re responsible for Stuxnet.Read the full story here.

Today, OPEC produces about 2 million barrels of oil a day over its official production ceiling, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoets Mohammad Ali Khatibi as saying. In December 2011, the organization's members agreed to put selling level of oil production at 30 million barrels a day of oil. OPEC Statistics show that the organisation's output exceeded 31.621 million bpd in April. Saudi Arabia and Iraq produce 9.897 million bpd and 3.025 million bpd of oil, respectively. The figures are 1.621 million bpd and 624,000 bpd more than the figures for 2010. This is while Iran's oil output has decreased by 510,000 bpd since 2010, according to OPEC reports. Iraq announced that it will boost oil output by 400,000 bpd in the current year. Iran has always been opposed to any increase in the ceiling output, because increasing the output will decrease prices in the international market. The falling oil price has decreased Iran's oil revenues, a country highly dependent on oil exports. Khatibi pointed to Saudi Arabia and its two allies, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the biggest violators of OPEC's production ceiling and the primary cause of lower global oil prices. Khatibi said Saudi Arabia is pressured by the world's big oil consumers to calm the oil market and does so by boosting production. Iran's Oil Minister, Rostam Ghasemi, has sent a letter protesting OPEC countries' acting against another member. The 161st meeting of the Conference of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is to start on June 14 in Vienna. Iran and some other OPEC members like Venezuela and Algeria will oppose pushing the organization's daily production ceiling from 30 million barrels a day to 31 million. Yesterday, the price for a barrel of oil with a July delivery date dropped 72 cents to $84.10 on New York's Mercantile Exchange (NYSE).Hmmmm........Now just imagine if Iran becomes the next OPEC Secretary General.Read the full story here.

Changes in German Holocaust Education. (INN).Manfred Gerstenfeld interviews Susanne Urban.“Germany erected many memorials and museums at former concentration camps, as well as for murdered Jews. The extent of the attention given to Holocaust education in schools and other educational institutions is outstanding. At the same time, one also observes an increasing self-perception of Germans as victims – because of the Allied bombings, the flight and expulsion from Eastern Europe and so on. Furthermore, prejudices such as ‘the Jews still make money off the Holocaust; they use the Holocaust against Germany and Europe for their own benefit,’ continue to float around.” Dr. Susanne Urban, an historian, is the Head of Historical Research in the International Tracing Service (ITS) in Bad Arolsen, Germany. Before that, she worked for five years at Yad Vashem. 
Urban observes: “Anti-Semitism is currently found among 20% of the German population. Since the year 2000, anti-Semitic attitudes have often turned against the State of Israel and therefore contain both anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. Successful Holocaust education is hampered when comparisons between the Warsaw Ghetto and the situation in Gaza or Israeli soldiers and Wehrmacht soldiers abound in media, in the public sphere and afterwards in schools.
Colleagues told me about cases of students with migration backgrounds who left the classroom because the Holocaust was on the agenda. 
Studies such as those by the Amadeo-Antonio-Foundation underline that these attitudes occur in the context of a self-perception which is often based on a confrontation between ‘us’ and ‘the West’ accompanied by a rejection against everything Jewish / Israeli – and therefore also against Holocaust education. “Educators should ask themselves: ‘How can we initiate an interest in the Holocaust for students not born in Germany or with a migration background?’ There are many angles through which educators may connect these students to the Holocaust. One way is through Muslim rescuers in Albania who saved nearly all of the Jews in the country. Another is through the experiences of North African Jews or Jews who found shelter in Turkey.
Another example comes from ITS documents: an Italian citizen – Muslim – fought with Italian partisans against the Nazis and was then registered as a Displaced Person in Italy. Ninety percent of Germans know about Auschwitz and were able to connect the name to the camp. Yet only 21% of those aged between 18 and 29 know about Auschwitz. A third of those interviewed didn’t know that Auschwitz is in Poland. Forty three percent have never visited a memorial site of a former concentration camp.
On the positive side: in 1994, 53% in Germany longed to consider the Nazi-past and the Holocaust as history without actual importance. Today this number has dropped to 40%. This is probably related to the fact that the generation of bystanders, perpetrators and profiteers is dying out. But 40% is still a high number, as these people are not willing to share responsibility for remembrance and the legacy of the survivors. This also has to do with the fact that 65% emphasize that Germany does not carry any special responsibility toward other nations because of its history. This gets further relief if one considers the widespread anti-Israel attitude in the country. “A current lesson from history is that we have the responsibility not to be bystanders in other genocides. The world failed in Rwanda. In addition, the threats of genocide – such as those made by Iran against Israel — should not go unanswered.” Urban concludes: “There is an urgent need to clearly define the common goals of Holocaust education. It should give the victims their stories and history back. One should read and listen to their perspectives as a counterpart to the perpetrators’ views. Youngsters should learn to take responsibility for their own opinions and actions. The stories of Righteous Gentiles should be taught to demonstrate that one does have a choice and that life is not deterministic. All victims and survivors and all helpers and rescuers participated in European culture, enriched societies and contributed to their countries. At the ITS we have over 30 million documents. From them, one can learn to teach and find one’s way to be active, engaged and alert. The Home Office released details of the caseload of the Government’s dedicated Forced Marriage Unit showing that it has been handling around 120 cases a month. The figures suggest a rise in the number children under threat of forced marriage, with 14 per cent of those dealt with aged under 15, compared with 10 per cent last year. There was also a handful of homosexual people fearing they are being forced into a marriage and 25 of those who came forward were disabled, some severely. But the figures are thought to be the tip of the iceberg with some estimates suggesting the real instance of forced marriage could be up to five times that amount. Mr Cameron and Theresa May, the Home Secretary, are announcing plans to make forced marriage a crime today after rejecting claims that banning the practice would simply drive it underground.There will also be a new publicity campaign and extra training for social workers, police, lawyers and judges to help them spot the signs. But campaigners last night warned that the plans look set to fail to tackle a key loophole in the law which could be behind hundreds of forced marriages a year involving vulnerable people with learning difficulties. Mandy Sanghera, a campaigner on honour violence who has advised the home office on forced marriage, said that people who lack the capacity to consent to marriage are routinely being allowed to sponsor visa applications for would-be spouses without query. Mr Cameron said: “Forced marriage is abhorrent and is little more than slavery. “To force anyone into marriage against their will is simply wrong and that is why we have taken decisive action to make it illegal. “I have listened to concerns that criminalisation could force this most distressing issue underground. “That is why we have a new comprehensive package to identify possible victims, support those who have suffered first hand and, indeed, prevent criminality wherever possible.”Read the full story here.

Hate Song ‘I Love Israel’ Latest Craze in Islamic Egypt.(INN).A hate song with the deceiving title of “I Love Israel” has become the latest craze in Egypt, The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported.
The singer, Amr El Masry, begins by repeating the phrase, “I love Israel.” The lyrics read as follows:
May it [Israel] be destroyed. May it be colonized. May it be wiped off the map. May a wall fall on it. May it disappear from the universe. God, please have it banished.”
During the duration of the song, the chorus of “I love Israel” is repeatedly interjected. “May it dangle from the noose. May I get to see it burning, Amen. I will pour gasoline on it. I am an Egyptian man. I am not a coward.” “May it be targeted. May it go up in flames that will never subside. From the bottom of my heart – may a wall fall on it,” the song continues.
“May it destroy itself. May we never hear of it again. May it destroy itself. May we never hear of it again. May it cease to exist, not even on the border. May they say on the news that there is no more destruction.” El Masry concludes the song by stating, “My heart is broken under my smoking jacket. I see that you are occupied, so I'm off. Goodbye.” Another song by the Egyptian Shaaban abd el Rehim, released in 2000 and titled “I Hate Israel” espouses the same vehemently anti-Israel sentiments, yearning for the obliteration of the Jewish state. The two songs caused controversy, but managed to pass the Egyptian censors. IAEA says no progress in nuclear talks with Iran.(JPost).The UN nuclear watchdog and Iran failed at talks on Friday to unblock a probe into suspected atom bomb research by the Islamic state, a setback dimming any chances for success in higher-level negotiations between Iran and major powers later this month. The International Atomic Energy Agency, using unusually pointed language, said no progress had been made in the talks aimed at sealing a deal on resuming the IAEA's long-stalled investigation, and it described the outcome as "disappointing." The setback came just a few weeks after UN nuclear chief Yukiya Amano said he had won assurances from senior Iranian officials in Tehran that an agreement would be struck soon. Herman Nackaerts, the IAEA's global head of inspections, said after the eight-hour meeting at IAEA headquarters in Vienna that no date for further discussions on the matter had been set. The IAEA had been pressing Tehran for an accord that would give its inspectors immediate access to the Parchin military complex, where it believes explosives tests relevant for the development of nuclear arms have taken place and suspects Iran may now be cleaning the site of any incriminating evidence. The United States, European powers and Israel want to curb Iranian nuclear activities they fear are intended to produce nuclear bombs. The Islamic Republic says its nuclear program is meant purely to produce energy for civilian uses. Six world powers were scrutinizing the IAEA-Iran meeting to judge whether the Iranians were ready to make concessions before a resumption of wider-ranging discussions with them in Moscow on June 18-19 on the decade-old nuclear dispute. The lack of result may heighten Western suspicions that Iran is seeking to drag out the two sets of talks to buy time for its uranium enrichment program, without backing down in the face of international demands that it suspend its sensitive work. "It should by now be clear to everyone that Iran is not negotiating in good faith," a senior Western diplomat said. Nackaerts said the IAEA had come to the meeting with a desire to finalize the deal and had presented a revised draft that addressed earlier stated concerns by Iran. "However, there has been no progress," he told reporters. "And indeed Iran raised issues that we have already discussed and added new ones. This is disappointing. A date for a follow-on meeting has yet to be fixed."
