• Thousands attend Syria protesters' funerals.Mourners call for overthrow of President Assad a day after at least 30 demonstrators were killed by security forces.Tens of thousands of Syrians have attended the funerals for protesters killed in the central city of Homs, chanting slogans demanding the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad, the country's president.Rights activists say security forces killed at least 25 pro-democracy protesters in Homs on Sunday night as anti-government demonstrations flared across the country, claiming up to 30 lives.Witnesses said mourners chanted "From alleyway to alleyway, from house to house, we want to overthrow you, Bashar," and "Either freedom or death, the people want to topple this regime".The protest was the largest to hit the strategically important city, Syria's third largest, since protests in the country began one month ago.A protester told Al Jazeera that the first killing took place after evening prayers on Sunday when a group of around 40 demonstrators gathered outside the Bab al-Sibaa mosque chanting "freedom".The protester, who gave his name as Abu Haider, said seven cars pulled up to the protesters and men in civilian clothes jumped out and opened fire on the crowd without warning."First we were calling for reforms, now we're calling for regime change," he said. "No one will accept the death of the martyrs."Al Jazeera's correspondent Rula Amin, in Damascus, reported that the situation in Homs was very tense on Monday."People are complaining that many of the wounded are not going to the hospital, they fear that the security forces will pick them up from their hospital bed," she said."There is also a shortage of blood according to the people we have been talking to."People are concerned that clashes might erupt following the [funeral] processions."She said there was also tension in the nearby town of Talbiseh, where five of the deaths occurred."The government says that gunmen had been going near the highway blocking the road."When security forces went to control the situation, they were attacked by the gunmen. • "The War On Christianity".Muslim intimidation of Christians in Nazareth before Easter.(ElderofZion).This is Easter week, so the media is doing their annual stories about how Israel is supposedly restricting some Christians from coming to Jerusalem. I received an interesting email from commenter Womble last Tuesday. Here's what he wrote:

I’ve just returned from a trip to the north of Israel, focused mostly on Christian holy places, and I’ve taken some photos.This photo was taken in Nazareth this morning. It shows the banner which greets any Christian pilgrim or tourist who wants to visit the Christian places of worship in the city.If you want to get to the Church of the Annunciation or to the Synagogue Church, there’s literally no way to get there without being confronted with this warning to embrace Islam or else. (The building on the right is the Church of the Annunciation; this way you can see the proximity). My guess is that it is the work of the local branch of the Islamic Movement, whose offices are located nearby.However, I cannot identify the logo in the upper left corner of the banner, so I can’t be absolutely sure if it’s the Islamic Movement or some other, less known, organization doing it.I think that Womble is right and this is the Islamic Movement of Nazareth.Either way, here is a little seen side of how Muslims feel free to intimidate and bully Christians in the Middle East - and even in Israel.Hmmmm........Of course no word from the self confessed "Christian" President.Read and see the full story here.

• GOP Rep. Tom Reed Wants Debt Clock Displayed in House Chamber: “We’re Borrowing $58,000 Per Second”. (TheHill).Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) last week introduced a resolution that would place a clock measuring the U.S. debt in the House chamber as a “visual gesture” that reminds members of the need to reduce spending.“We are currently borrowing $58,000 per second,” Reed said last week. “We borrow at least forty cents of each dollar we spend. That is unsustainable. The debt clock will be a distinct reminder that our national debt must always be our first consideration as we continue to spend money that we do not have.”Reed noted that the total U.S. debt reached $1.5 trillion in the U.S.’s first 193 years, but said the country will add that much in red ink in the current fiscal year.“The voters of the 29th district of New York elected me to get our spending and borrowing under control,” Reed said. “We must never lose sight of that fact that our children and grandchildren will quite literally pay tomorrow for the decisions made today.”Hmmmm......"Herr Obama" Doesn't care much about Congress their worries.Read the full story here.

• China Is About to Suffer a Banking Crisis.It is ironic that China is demanding greater control of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, just as the nation’s banking system is about to be devastated by the white hot flames of inflation.From a distance, China’s economy seems to be the poster child of sustainable growth. Recent government reports show the economy expanding by 9.7%, retail sales up a blistering 17.4%, foreign reserves at $3 trillion, and inflation only 5.4%. But these statistics mask a dark side; Chinese communist authorities have been artificially holding down fierce inflationary pressures by subsidizing consumer prices.Over the last six months the government artificially restricted increases in retail food prices to 11%, while wholesale commodity food prices have jumped by 35%. In the last two months the government capped retail gasoline price increases at 10%, even as Middle East turmoil caused crude oil prices to leap by over 30%.Most Americans believe that the secret-weapon of the “China Economic Miracle” has been currency manipulation of Chinese yuan’s exchange rate with the U.S. dollar. In the past two years as Asian economies and foreign exchange reserves expanded dramatically, the yuan gained only 4.6% versus the dollar. This modest rise compares currency gains of 31% for the Indonesian rupiah, 22% for the South Korean won, and 21%for the Singapore dollar. China has subsidized its exporters by recycling its export earnings back into over-valued U.S. dollars. The strategy makes China’s exports more competitive, but at the cost of spiking inflation at home.The less known and far more important secret-weapon of the “China Economic Miracle” is the absolute control of the banking industry by China’s four largest state-owned banks (“SOB”); Industrial and Commercial Bank, Agricultural Bank, People’s Bank of China and Construction. Since the government does not provide adequate social welfare programs and restricts its citizen’s investment options to bank accounts, about 40% of Chinese household income is deposited in SOBs each month. The SOBs then leverage the deposits by ten times and loan 75% of this massive amount of cash at extremely low interest rates to state-owned-enterprises (“SOE”). The other 25% of lending is allocated to real estate development.China is no stranger to bankers making risky loans to communist party officials and their crony real estate developers. During the Asian Financial Crisis of the mid-1990s, it is estimated that 40% of all SOB loans were non-performing and most were written off. The Chinese paid for the SOB losses with a 76% devaluation of their currency that crushed the people’s buying-power by 76%. From 1997 to 2004 Chinese frivolous lending was somewhat restrained, but since 2003 the bureaucrats have mandated a massive expansion of lending. In comparison to the U.S. and Europe where bank lending is flat, SOBs have been expanding loans by 25% annually.The Chinese officials like to present an image of their population as very industrious, but also stoic and reserved. But with the real estate bubble bursting, banks stuffed with non-performing loans, interest rates rising and inflation raging, the flames of social protest may soon ignite. Fitch Ratings just lowered China’s AA- sovereign credit rating to “negative” from “stable”; citing a “high likelihood of a significant deterioration” in banks’ asset quality within three years. Credit rating agencies also like to present a stoic and reserved image; but this eloquent language is actually code words for “duck and cover”.China may have achieved the fastest economic growth in world history, but that growth has been powered by currency manipulation and an exponential growth of risky bank lending. The Chinese authorities have been shielding their citizens from the inflationary effect of their strategies through subsidies paid for with more bank lending. • Letter: Arabs brainwashed against Israel.Iraqi man sends letter to Foreign Ministry saying Hamas has made him ashamed of being Arab.The Foreign Ministry's Arabic-language website received a letter Saturday from a repentant Iraqi man who says he and his fellow citizens have been "brainwashed against Israel".The man added that Hamas's recent attacks on Israeli civilians have caused him "shame" for being an Arab and a Muslim. "For a long time we believed that Israelis are dangerous barbarians due to the brainwashing we underwent during Saddam (Hussein)'s rule but now I see (Arabs) being massacred in a wretched and shameful manner by Sunni and Shiite rulers," the letter says.The letter was published by the Foreign Ministry on its Arabic-language website, which is accessed by web users worldwide.The writer went on to say that his epiphany had come after he witnessed Israeli doctors treating a Palestinian girl. "What caught my attention was the Israeli hospital that treated the Palestinian girl who suffered from a cancerous growth. I also watched the movie about the Jewish pianist who suffered greatly in the time of Hitler," he wrote, apparently referring to 'The Pianist'.The man said he has begun to study Jewish history, and that he hopes to eventually be able to visit Israel "in order to defeat the fear instilled in me due to the brainwashing that Israelis are barbarians and their country a terror state"."After seeing the terror in Iraq and the terror Hamas and Palestinians are performing against you I have become ashamed of being an Arab and Muslim," the man wrote. • Elie Wiesel resigns from the "Genocide Institute Canada," dissociates himself from Emir Ramic.(BalkanStudies).“Elie Wiesel cannot sit together with Emir Ramic in the same organization. He does hereby resign from the ‘International Team of Experts’ of the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada. Thank you, and please do confirm receipt of this message.”This terse note, sent by the Elie Wiesel Foundation to the Bosnian-Muslim “Institute” on April 14, is a welcome and long overdue development. Professor Wiesel is to be commended for dissociating himself from Emir Ramic and all that he and his Jihadist cohorts stand for. This fraudulent disinformation outfit now stands unmasked for what it is and terminally discredited.

Some of the Nazi guards were Bosnian Muslims at Jasenovac. On Facebook, Ramic is also a member of a group called “Thank Allah I’m not Serbian” which has a burning Serbian and Israeli flag as a group picture.The facebook group is no longer accessible and I was unable to find a cached version, but Trifkovic had confirmed its previous existence before mentioning it in his article. Or rather, according to the mujahid who gave the lecture, his statements were “warnings”. Even so, the example of Theo Van Gogh was invoked repeatedly as one that Mr. Wilders should remember.You’ll notice the striking resemblance between the unnamed Muslim in this video and the infamous Anjem Choudary. Since Sharia4Holland is a franchise of one of Mr. Choudary’s groups — now banned in the UK — perhaps the likeness is no accident.Our Dutch correspondent Penseur tells us that on the PVV website, a discussion about these videos included the following comment from a jihad expert (Penseur’s translation):

• Obama, the Interpreter of the Message of Passover.Passover recalls the bondage and suffering of Jews in Egypt and the miracle of the Exodus, but U.S. President Barack Obama says its message is reflected in Muslim uprisings.In his annual message, prior to his third straight participation in the Passover Seder, President Obama stated, “The story of Passover…instructs each generation to remember its past, while appreciating the beauty of freedom and the responsibility it entails. • The Mystery of Barack Obama Continues.By Steve Baldwin.Most Americans don’t realize we have elected a president whom we know very little about.Researchers have discovered that Obama’s autobiographical books are little more than PR stunts, as they have little to do with the actual events of his life. The fact is we know less about President Obama than perhaps any other president in American history and much of this is due to actual efforts to hide his record. This should concern all Americans.A nation-wide network of researchers has sprung up to attempt to fill in the blanks, but at every opportunity Obama’s high-priced lawyers have built walls around various records or simply made them disappear. It is estimated that Obama’s legal team has now spent well over $1.4 million dollars blocking access to documents every American should have access to. The question is why would he spend so much money to do this?The president who campaigned for a more “open government” and “full disclosure” will not unseal his medical records, his school records, his birth records or his passport records. He will not release his Harvard records, his Columbia College records, or his Occidental College records—he will not even release his Columbia College thesis. All his legislative records from the Illinois State Senate are missing and he claims his scheduling records during those State Senate years are lost as well. In addition, no one can find his school records for the elite K-12 college prep school, Punahou School, he attended in Hawaii.What is he hiding? Well, for starters, some of these records will shed light on his citizenship and birth.More recently, it was discovered that Obama’s Selective Service card may have been doctored. Federal law requires all American males to register for the Selective Service (the draft) in case a major war broke out. Blogger Debbie Schlussel has discovered solid evidence that Obama’s Selective Service registration form was submitted not when he was younger as required, but rather in 2008 and then altered to look older. Indeed, the forgers forgot to alter the “Document Location Number” which shows that it is clearly a 2008 form. This is fraud and it’s a felony and Schlussel allegations are backed up by Stephen Coffman, a former high-ranking Federal agent. Moreover, the document shows a September 4th, 1980 date and the location of the transaction as Hawaii, but at that time Obama was thousands of miles away attending Occidental College in Los Angeles.The real reason why Obama probably did not submit this form as a teenager is that he assumed his Kenyan or Indonesian citizenship exempted him from this requirement. But clearly, as he grew older and entered politics, he saw that any documents revealing a foreign birth – Selective Service registration, birth certificate, school applications, etc – would be problematic if he ran for the presidency. Thus, it is not a coincidence that every document which contains information about his birth or citizenship is either missing, sealed, or has been altered.Indeed, everywhere one looks into Obama’s background, we find sealed records, scrubbed websites, altered documents, deception and unanswered questions. Can anyone imagine for a second if John McCain or George Bush had blocked access to his school, medical, and birth records? It would have been headlines but as with everything else concerning Obama, the media has given him a pass on this.Of all these marvels, the latest mystery and probably most perplexing is that of Obama’s social security number. It appears that Obama has multiple identities in term of possessing numerous social security numbers. Orly Taitz, an attorney who has filed numerous suits against Obama regarding his eligibility to serve as president, appears to be the first to discover this. In her suit, representing a number of military officers who are refusing to serve under an ineligible commander in chief, she hired private investigator Neil Sankey to conduct research on Obama’s prior addresses and Social Society numbers. Using Intelius, Lexis Nexis, Choice Point and other public records, Sankey found around 25 Social Security numbers connected with Obama’s name.In Obama’s home state, Illinois, Sankey tracked down 16 different addresses for a Barack Obama or a Barack H. Obama, of which all are addresses he was known to have lived at. Two Social Security numbers appear for these addresses, one beginning with 042 and one starting 364.In California, where Obama attended Occidental College, there are six addresses listed for him, all within easy driving distance of the college. However, there are three Social Security numbers connected to these addresses, 537 and two others, each beginning with 999.There are no addresses listed in New York where he attended Columbia University, but there is one listed for him in nearby Jackson, NJ, with a Social Security number beginning with 485.In Massachusetts – where Obama attended Harvard Law School – we find three addresses, all using the 042 Social Security number. After Obama was elected to the United States Senate in 2005, he moved into an apartment at 300 Massachusetts Ave NW; the Social Security number attached to that address is the 042 one. Yet, three years later, Obama used a different Social Security number for an address listed as: 713 Hart Senate Office Building. This was the address of his United States Senate office. This Social Security number began with 282 and was verified by the government in 2008.This mystery grows even stranger as other addresses and Social Security numbers for Barack Obama appear in a dozen other states not known to be connected to him. Again, I am excluding those records names not spelled exactly like his name.

Colorado, one address, with a Social Security number beginning with 456.

Utah, two addresses, with two Social Security numbers beginning with 901 and 799.

Missouri has one address and one Social Security number beginning with 999.

Florida has two addresses listed for his him, three if you count one listed as “Barry Obama.” One is connected to a Social Security number beginning with 762.

In Georgia there are three addresses listed for him, all with different Social Security numbers: 579, 420,and 423.

In Texas there are four different addresses listed for him, one is connected to Social Security number 675.

There are two addresses listed for Barack Obama in Oregon and one address listed for him in the states of Wisconsin, Michigan, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania.All told, there are 49 addresses and 16 different Social Security numbers listed for a person whose name is spelled “Barack Obama.” In some cases, the middle initial “H” is listed. If you were to expand the search to include closely related names such as: “Barac,” “Barak,” and “Barrack” Obama, you would find more than a dozen additional addresses and Social Security numbers.While the private investigator who compiled this list says multiple social security numbers does not automatically prove there’s criminal activity involved, he states that “having said that, I have personally experienced many, many cases where such information has led to subsequent exposure of fraud, deception, money laundering and other crimes.“What is interesting to note is that Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, was a volunteer at the Oahu Circuit Court probate department and had access to the Social Security numbers of deceased people.Hmmmm....."We invented all kinds of ways to obtain false identity papers, and got busy building multiple sets of ID for each of us and for every contingency," writes Bill Ayers of his years in the Weather Underground. • Freak mentality.(Hurriyetdailynews).The bold, bald and ever-angry tall man having absolute powers degreed while touring the city like the commander of an invading enemy: This freak monument must be removed!Who could dare to say a word and explain to the man with eagle-eyes the need to see a world further than his obsessive Islamist perspective?How could his most able advisors or the vizier for cultural and tourism affairs stop flattering the bold, bald and ever-angry tall man with absolute powers for his always wise decisions and say “Your Divine Highness, you rightly said that the monument is a freak one, but like colors or taste, art is relative as well. What you may perceive as “freak” might be a great work of art for someone else. As a country wishing to join in and indeed eventually capture that club of the infidels boasting with its democratic values and norms, perhaps we should talk less about the prohibitions of our religion regarding art… Look, immediately the club of the infidels and their collaborators at home has started reminding people what happened to the gigantic Buddha statues in Afghanistan during the Taliban rule…”But, was not Turkey a secular country?Yes, Turkey was a secular country but the monument that angered the bold, bald and ever-angry tall man with absolute powers was being erected at a location not only visible from almost at all corners of Kars, but indeed very close to an Islamist shrine. Furthermore, the construction of the “Humanity Monument” was originally planned to symbolize peace and brotherhood between Turkish and Armenian peoples. All such hopes for a quick fix in Turkish-Armenian relations started to fast fade. The monument was so huge that it indeed shadowed the nearby Islamist shrine, and thus was totally unacceptable for the bold, bald and ever-angry tall man with absolute powers.Come on, don’t raise eyebrows and question the place of shrines in Islam, a religion that strictly prohibited believers from seeking any divine help dead or alive from any other source than the almighty Allah. After all, religion is something, religious culture is something else. Turks of course have been predominantly Muslim for centuries but obviously they did not convert to Islam one day like moving from one house to another. They carried at least some of their shamanist beliefs, traditions, values, norms and symbols to their new religion and forged what we call today the Anatolian school of Muslim culture.Spitting in art or simply erasing art has become an expertise of this government of advanced democratic understanding. • 'What about burning poppies?': Court outburst of man jailed 70 days for setting Koran alight.(DailyMail).A man has been jailed for 70 days today after he burnt a copy of the Koran just over a month after a Muslim got away with a paltry £50 fine for a similar offence.Andrew Ryan, 32, stole a copy of the holy book from Carlisle Library then set it on fire by a monument in the city of Carlisle.Last month Emdadur Choudhury was fined after he burned a poppy outside the Royal Albert Hall in London on Remembrance Day while shouting 'British soldiers burn in hell'.As he was led down to the cells, Ryan shouted at the judge at Carlisle Magistrates' Court today: 'What about burning poppies?'.Sentencing him at Carlisle Magistrates' Court, District Judge Gerald Chalk said: 'This is a case of theatrical bigotry. It was pre-planned by you as you stole the book deliberately. You went out to cause maximum publicity and to cause distress.'He told Ryan that people were entitled to protest but not in the manner he chose. The court heard the defendant had six public order convictions between 2002 and 2010 including racial chanting at a football match and assault with intent to resist arrest.Ryan pleaded guilty to religiously aggravated harassment and theft at an earlier hearing. Prior to the hearing, a Facebook page created by the 'English Defence League Carlisle Division' urged visitors to support 'Division Member' Ryan in his court appearance.Around 10 men sat in the public gallery but walked out when District Judge Chalk announced the sentence. Comments of 'what a joke' and 'call that justice' were made as they left the courtroom.'He wants to make it clear that it was directed towards radical Islam such as the burning of poppies and flags.'He would certainly not want Muslim people to think he had problems with their beliefs.'Mr Ryan was brought up to respect the Armed Forces. Some members of his family were in the Armed Forces and he himself served in the Army between the ages of 16 and 20 in Northern Ireland.'What caused him to 'lose it' on that day was that he had been looking at a website which had shown radical people burning poppies and abusing British troops returning from abroad.'The defendant joined the library with the intention of borrowing the Koran but instead stole it. 'State doesn't help,' says coordinator.Soup kitchens owned by Colel Chabad have been busy these past few days, with a constant line of some 300 senior citizens – with an average age of 85 – forming outside its Jerusalem location. The clientele, mainly Holocaust survivors who come equipped with carts and baskets, help each other select products and then load them onto buses for the ride home. Most of the senior citizens are from the former Soviet Union, survivors of World War II who are accustomed to doing without life's luxuries. They receive a pension of around $670 per month plus social security benefits."It's hard to live off of this," says 85-year old Anna, from Belarus. "During the war I lost nine family members in concentration camps, and now I live here alone and make due with my pension. After rent and other expenses I have NIS 160 ($47) left over for food." Vina Burneska, a 75-year old woman who immigrated to Israel from the Ukraine, recounted her tale. "I was seven years old when we ran away from the war. I remember walking long distances and being swollen from hunger," she said. "In Israel things are good, but there is not enough money. After paying rent I have NIS 200 ($58) for food and it's difficult to get by." Israel Lazerovitch, 88, told Ynet that his main hardship is with loneliness. "During the war I was in a concentration camp in Poland, where I was forced to work hard labor. I came to Israel with my wife, who has already passed away. It's hard to be alone, to cook alone, to be home with just four walls. However, this genocide is yet to be called by its proper name, "Seyfo," in which Western Assyrian dialect it means "the sword."Seyfo was carried out in a true jihadist strategy, ethnically annihilating all the non-Muslim citizens living under the Ottoman occupation, with the objective of homogenizing Turkey with a notion of creating 'one-Nation' and 'one-Religion.' Most of the victims were killed by swords and it is precisely due to this fact that this genocide is known among our people as "Seyfo." This is how it was known by its victims, and this is how they passed it on to us with their eye-witness accounts which have become part and parcel of our collective memory. I would also like to iterate certain beliefs of mine to avoid any confusion. My knowledge on the subject, which is the Assyrian Genocide, is after all not unlimited, but I was born in Turkey, Turkish language is one of the ten languages I speak, and I know the Turkish policy very well and the reality of the Turkish state. The Assyrian Genocide was organized by the Ottoman Turks, and this is the reason I speak mostly about Assyrians and Turkey. • Pakistan: 2010 Another deadly, lawless, dangerous year.(AhmadiyyaTimes).2010 was another deadly year in Pakistan, and this year is likely to be worse, according to a report from the independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), the country’s principal human rights watchdog."Pakistan's biggest problem continues to be violence carried out militants," HRCP chairman Mehdi Hasan said."In 2010, 67 suicide attacks were carried out across the country in which 1,169 people were killed. At least 1,000 of those were civilians."Hasan added that 2,542 people were estimated to have been killed in militant attacks in the country last year.HRCP described 2010 as a “particularly bad one for religious freedoms” in Pakistan, and warned that “worse times are in store”.

Among other items in the report:

*As many as 12,580 people were murdered, while 581 kidnappings for ransom and 16,977 cases of abduction were also reported.

*There were 37,088 cases of vehicle theft or snatching. Police recovered 60,884 illegal weapons.

*338 people were killed in police encounters. Only 28 ‘suspects’ were injured and captured alive.

*At least 174 people were rescued from illegal police detention.

*237 political activists and 301 other civilians were killed in targeted killings in Karachi.

*118 people were killed and 40 injured in 117 targeted killings in Balochistan. They included 29 non-Baloch settlers and 17 members of the Shia Hazara community. Bodies of 59 missing persons were found in the province.

*NGOs and human rights defenders faced threats and attacks because of their work.

*The death row population has grown to around 8,000, with nearly 6,000 death penalty convicts in Punjab alone.

*The authorized capacity of the country’s 91 prisons was 42,617 persons but 75,586 prisoners are being detained.

*Of the 12,980 detainees in jails across Sindh, 10,306 were under trial, while 33,809 of the 51,902 detainees in the prisons of Punjab were under trial.

*There were 931 women and 1,154 juvenile detainees in prisons across the country, most of them under trial.

*72 prisoners died in prisons across the country and another 157 were injured.

*356 people were sentenced to death, including seven women and one juvenile.

*20 journalists and media workers lost their lives in attacks and targeted killings.

*Security forces personnel subjected journalists to physical attacks,intimidation and arbitrary detention. Under a White House plan, the Homeland Security Department will have far-reaching oversight over all civilian agency computer networks.The proposal would codify much of the administration’s memo from July 2010 expanding DHS’s cyber responsibilities for civilian networks.The White House, however, is taking those responsibilities further, according to a source familiar with the document. The administration drafted a legislative proposal to give DHS many, if not all, of the same authorities for the .gov networks that the Defense Department has for the .mil networks.Federal News Radio recently viewed a draft copy of the legislative proposal.“I have to question why the Executive branch is writing legislation,” said the source, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to talk about it. “This is not a proposal or white paper like the White House usually sends to Capitol Hill. This is the actual legislation.”The source said the 100-page document is going through interagency review. DHS sent the document around to agencies late last Friday and asked for comments by Monday. The source said few agencies had time to take a hard look at the document, especially in light of the possible government shutdown.Sources on Capitol Hill and in government confirmed the White House is working on such a proposal.A DHS spokesman said the agency doesn’t comment on pending legislation.The anonymous DC source also introduces the “Google provision,” which would establish vaguely drafted nationalized controls over whose servers may store .gov sites. The key to understanding the summit may be found in the joint statement, which refers to “the inadequacies and deficiencies of the existing international monetary and financial system….” Without question, this statement is about eliminating the U.S. dollar as the global reserve currency. Therefore, the BRIC countries are asking for “the reform and improvement of the international monetary system, with a broad-based international reserve currency system providing stability and certainty.”It appears, with the addition of South Africa to the BRIC alliance, that gold is being contemplated as a means for backing a new reserve currency. China and South Africa are the two leading gold-producing countries. Russia is the sixth leading gold producer, and Brazil is 15th. But this is not an easy game to win, because the dollar’s position is almost unbeatable. Furthermore, the United States, Canada and Australia have steady gold production. But here, at the BRIC Summit, a serious challenge is being mounted. If the dollar is to be overthrown, a humble beginning must be attempted. And who knows what countries will join the BRIC Summit next year?The sequence of unraveling is easy to follow. If you dump U.S. Treasuries, how will the U.S. dollar remain the global reserve currency? In that event, how will the United States finance its deficit spending? Makled is a Syrian-born Venezuelan citizen, who claims to have a treasure trove of information on Hezbullah operations in Venezuela. Makled is in a position to know. He is believed to have paid more than $1,000,000 per month in bribes to Venezuelan generals and ministers to protect his drug business.Makled will only give the information he has about Hezbullah to the United States. But he is being extradited to Venezuela and not to the United States as he wished. Colombia is afraid of Venezuela. Colombia is also afraid that Washington will abandon it.Makled claims to have information on Chavez's help to Hezbollah and other Middle Eastern terrorist groups operating in the Venezuelan soil. Makled stated in an interview that Hezbollah is "absolutely" active in Venezuela. He also has information on the flights between Venezuela and Teheran -- a serious source of concern for the US.As the Washington Post puts it: "The Obama administration is about to lose an extraordinary opportunity to prosecute one of the world's biggest drug traffickers. Newsmax cites Ken Timmerman's article, but I broke the story that Timmerman writes about (all posts here), and it was well documented in my book: The Post American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America.Obama’s 2008 campaign finance records are full of riddles, mysteries, and unanswered questions. Contributing nearly $25,000 to the Obama campaign was Monir Edwan, who was listed on FEC documents as contributing from the city of Rafah in the state “GA.” Georgia? No – there is no Rafah in the Peach State. Monir Edwan sent money to Obama from Rafah, Gaza.Rafah is a Gaza refugee camp.The Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) “prohibits any foreign national from contributing, donating or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States, either directly or indirectly. It is also unlawful to help foreign nationals violate that ban or to solicit, receive or accept contributions or donations from them. Persons who knowingly and willfully engage in these activities may be subject to fines and/or imprisonment.”Yet no one has found it noteworthy that Barack Hussein Obama himself appears to be in violation of this statute.According to the FEC, contributions to the Obama campaign from three brothers, Osama, Monir and Hosam Edwan, all from Rafah, totaled $33,000.And they weren’t alone. Al-Jazeera reported on March 31, 2008 that Gazans were manning phone banks for the Obama campaign.The brothers were vocal in their “love” for Obama – which in itself spoke volumes to Obama’s campaign. The media showed no interest, but Obama pricked up his ears. He smelled trouble; even though no reporters asked him about these contributions, he answered anyway. The Obama campaign contended in the summer of 2008 that they had returned $33,500 in illegal contributions from Palestinians in Hamas-controlled Gaza – despite the fact that records do not show that it was returned, and the brothers said they did not receive any money. And indeed, Obama’s refunds and redesignations on file with the FEC show no refund to Osama, Hossam, or Monir Edwan in the Rafah refugee camp.Why did Palestinians in a Gaza refugee camp have such love for Obama in the summer of 2008? Did they know he was going to run a jihad presidency?Just as disturbing were the phone banks in Gaza campaigning for Obama. Muslims in Gaza methodically worked the phones in Internet cafes, calling Americans and doing everything they could to influence the vote.When New York Congressman Jerrold Nadler was confronted with the Gaza phone banks issue while campaigning for Obama in South Florida in early November 2008 said that if there “really were phone banks in Gaza, that would be a major campaign issue.” He said it would be all over the media and be a major problem for the campaign. And he laughed at the idea that Obama was receiving campaign contributions from Gaza. The mainstream media laughed along with him, continuing its refusal to cover this explosive story.If there had been just one questionable tie, one link to jihadist entities, one link to groups advocating the destruction of Israel, Barack Obama might have merited the free pass he got from the mainstream media about this. • As Putin Crushes Russia’s Internet, Obama Stands By.(PajamasMedia).The technologically hip president is abetting the ruin of online freedomBoth the United States and Russia began gearing up over the past few weeks for their coming presidential elections next year. As with most things, the course of events in the two countries was rather different.In America, the opposition party candidates began jockeying for position and the incumbent declared his intentions. In Russia, where there is no opposition party and the incumbent is a mere figurehead, the corrupt dictatorial regime began systematically eradicating political dissent on the Internet.In Vladimir Putin’s Russia, there are three significant sources of dissent, all based mainly on the Internet: bloggers on the LiveJournal (LJ) host, the website of the newspaper Novaya Gazeta, and the website of shareholder rights activist Alexei Navalny, who is something like the Russian Ralph Nader.Between March 24 and April 8, all three came under a vicious, determined, and overwhelming DDOS attack from a powerful, shadowy enemy — and all three faltered and fell from their Internet perches. One of the LJ bloggers who disappeared was Dmitry Medvedev, the so-called “president” of Russia. Another LJ blogger, Timur_nechaev77, asked: “Who ordered the attack on LiveJournal is a rhetorical question. Who has been carrying out a mop-up operation of the mass media and the Internet for the last 10 years?”In Russia today, nobody has any doubts about the answer to that question. In Washington, D.C., though, it seems our government remains very much in the dark.A few months ago, Rustem Adagamov, the single most powerful LJ blogger, warned: “The Internet is the last free territory [in Russia] — but it won’t stay that way for long.” It didn’t take long for him to be proved right.Just as the DDOS attacks subsided, a high-ranking figure in the Russian state security forces — formerly known as the KGB — announced that his agency favored shutting down “foreign” Internet communication hosts such as Skype, Gmail, and Hotmail. These services, he said, use encryption technology that is difficult for the KGB to break, and therefore pose a direct threat to Russian national security.Putin’s moves to shut out contact between Russia and the outside world appear deranged when you know that Russia is facing a massive and increasing shortfall in foreign investment. With little domestic savings to speak of, Russians depend on foreigners to float their boat, yet their government is doing all it can to prevent them from understanding the needs and concerns of foreigners, which only further alienates foreign money from the Russian market.And Putin’s goons are going much further. The security forces are already openly bragging about reading the e-mail of opposition leaders, openly storming the offices of opposition publications at will, and openly seeking to bribe LJ bloggers to toe the Kremlin line. They are, in other words, practicing not just to destroy the Internet’s ability to influence the next presidential “election” in Russia, but to bring about a sea change in the way Russians get information from the Internet — permanently rendering the web useless as a means of challenging the Kremlin’s power.Obama has done nothing at all to stand up for American values in Russia. Instead, he’s munched burgers with Medvedev, unilaterally given up missile defense in Eastern Europe, and made it clear he thinks Medvedev is a progressive figure that America should support. This allows Medvedev to sell himself to his electorate as a man respected by the outside world, further undermining the legitimacy of those who would challenge him.In fact, to the shocking contrary, Obama may actually support the Kremlin’s efforts to wipe out privacy on the Internet. His administration is actively seeking to crack open Skype and Gmail, just like the Putin Gestapo. Who knows?
