  • Jewish congresswoman shot in Arizona.Shocking attack in US: Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords shot in the head during public event in Tucson; conflicting reports about her condition. More than 10 people hurt in shooting, fatalities include judge, 9-year-old girl.Shocking attack: US Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head outside a grocery store in Tucson while holding a public event, National Public Radio reported on Saturday. She is the first Jewish woman from Arizona to be elected to Congress and is also known as a pro-choice supporter but also as a supporter of gun rights. Giffords highlighted her Jewish identity as part of her first Congress campaign.“If you want something done, your best bet is to ask a Jewish woman to do it,” she said at the time.Giffords is the granddaughter of Akiba Hornstein, the son of a Lithuanian rabbi who in the 1940s moved from New York to Tucson. He later changed his name to Giff Giffords in an effort to avoid anti-Semitism.In a recent visit at the Temple Emanuel synagogue she told the congregation that the US must remain committed to Israel, the Middle East's only democracy. Last week, she wrote in Arizona's Jewish newspaper that there would be no peace in the region before the Palestinian leadership and other organizations accept Israel's right to exist.Hmmmm.....Now gunned down by a "person" who considers Mein Kampf as one of his favorite books, and still the left wont call it what it is!It's Antisemitism - JudenHass or whatever you want to call it!So go on shouting on the corners of the streets about "Islamophobia" while a Jewish congres woman is shot in broad daylight! He might be deranged but it's still "The Jew" who's the victim.Read the full story here.

  • Updated !Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona " in critical condition," she was shot in the head Saturday when an assailant opened fire outside a grocery store during a meeting with constituents, killing at least five people and injuring several others in a rampage that rattled the nation. "She's in critical condition," Giffords was among at least 18 people shot, and the hospital said her outlook was "optimistic" and that she was responding. "She's in critical condition," Dr. Peter Rhee said. "The neurosurgeons have finished operating on her and I can tell you that in the current time period I am very optimistic about recovery ... she was following commands."Rhee described Giffords' wound as "through-and-through ... It went through her brain."The hospital said a 9-year-old child was among the killed, and a federal judge was also fatally shot."It's not surprising that today Gabby was doing what she always does, listening to the hopes and concerns of her neighbors," Obama said in a nationally televised news conference. "That is the essence of what our democracy is about."Hmmmm....I can not believe it that he's trying to get political advantage from this shooting. On second thought ...yes i can.Read the full story here.

  • Shia leader Al-Sadr calls on Iraqis 'to resist'the US occupiers.Shia leader urges peaceful resistance and a rejection of violence in his first address since returning from exile.Muqtada al-Sadr, the Iraqi Shia Muslim religious leader, has called on his followers to resist the "occupiers" of Iraq.In his first public address since returning from self-imposed exile, he called on the newly formed government to make sure all US forces left Iraq by the end of the year as planned."We are still resisting the occupation through armed, cultural and all kinds of resistance, so repeat after me: no, no to occupiers," al-Sadr told a crowd of thousands outside his ancestral home in Najaf on Saturday."Yes, yes for Muqtada! Yes, yes for the leader!" the crowd shouted, waving Iraqi flags and al-Sadr's pictures.David J. Ranz, the spokesman for the US embassy in Iraq, brushed off al-Sadr's remarks, saying the speech contained "nothing new".A security agreement between Washington and Baghdad requires all US forces to be out of Iraq by the end of the year, but officials in both countries have admitted that security forces are not yet ready to protect Iraq's borders from possible invasion.Al Jazeera's Jane Arraf in Baghdad said that al-Sadr's message specified ending the occupation as a key goal."He made clear reference to fighting them [the US forces] with all means necessary ... but he also made clear that this is a more disciplined Sadr organisation," she said."He said breaches would not be tolerated and that Iraqis would not assassinate Iraqis ... altogether a much more determined, perhaps a more disciplined Muqtada al-Sadr."Police and al-Sadr's guards were out in force in Al-Hanana, the area of Najaf where al-Sadr's home is located, and where he spoke.Al-Sadr left Iraq at the end of 2006, according to his movement, and had reportedly been pursuing religious studies in the Iranian holy city of Qom. He returned to his home city of Najaf on Wednesday.Iraq's new government, which was finally approved by parliament on December 21 after nine months of delays, includes six ministers from Sadr's bloc and the popular leader said that it must be given a chance to perform. "The government is new, so we should give it a chance to prove it is at the service of the people," Sadr said.Ali Al-Saffar, the deputy editor and Iraq analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit, said that al-Sadr's remarks about the government were probably more significant than the rhetoric about resistance."I think Muqtada al-Sadr has realised that times have changed since he left Iraq," he told al Jazeera from London.Hmmmmm.....More important is the question "What is Turkey's (IRAN's) Role in this"?related:"Iraq's Shiite radical leader Moqtada al-Sadr on Saturday met with some 70 co-religionists in Istanbul, including members of the Iraqi parliament."He met Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan first for talks on "security in Iraq and the promotion of links between the parties," according to a Turkish diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity."Once Again i strongly recommend "GET TURKEY OUT OF NATO!"They are the ennemy within the Western defence! And what and how much exactly does the Obama administration know about all this?Read the full story here.

  • No Burqa on the Greyhound Bus?A Chicago woman says she was denied travel on a Greyhound bus last month while wearing a full burqa and is looking for reimbursement from the company.
Jacqueline Pasha said she's traveled by Greyhound for years and was floored when an agent wouldn't let her board an Arkansas-bound bus to visit her family for the holidays last month."She said, 'You look scary. There's too much going on in the world today for you to be dressed like that. I can't see your face,'" the 31-year-old recalled.Pasha said she offered to show her face to any female employee in private."I said, 'Ma'am, I'll show you my face, no problem.' She said, 'You might have something under there.' I said, 'You can search me in a separate room, said recounted.
Ultimately, the newly-married woman who has been a Muslim for about five years was sent home with her tickets and a suitcase full of gifts for her three children.Pasha and her husband were in Chicago to find a new home, and her husband was going to continue the search for the roughly two weeks that Pasha was with her family.Since the Dec. 20 incident, the couple has racked up bills for food and hotels. The couple wants Greyhound to reimburse them for those expenses and the unused bus ticket.A Greyhound spokesman denies Pasha's claim."The customer who contacted you had a non-refundable ticket for travel on that specific day and when the customer indicated she no longer wanted to travel that day, we reissued her ticket," said Bonnie Bastian, a Greyhound manager of media relations. "At no point did we refuse to allow her to travel on our buses."The Department of Human Rights is investigating and is expected to return a legal opinion soon.Hmmmm....Another "Milkcow" is "Discovered"?Read the full story here.

  • HT:CreepingSharia. The “Lady Caliphs” (video). An old clip from ESPN, but the glaring omissions to sell Islam to the masses is more evident now than it was when this post 9-11 clip was aired. The Lady Caliphs of W Deen Mohammed High School in Atlanta, Ga.“Take hope” seems to be what many Muslims are taught, not just the Lady Caliphs.A little background on W Deen Mohammed that ESPN failed to mention:Born in Chicago in 1933, Wallace Deen Muhammad (WDM) is the son of Elijah Muhammad, who was the leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI) for forty years (until his death in 1975). Wallace Deen Muhammad (also known as Warith Deen Muhammad, Wallace Delaney Muhammad, and Warithuddin Muhammad) began working for NOI after his graduation from high school. What could be being taught in these Middle Eastern funded schools? The name of the team itself, Lady Caliphs, dosen’t bode well for non-Muslims. A caliph is generally used to describe the leader of the Islamic ummah, that is ruled under sharia law.Read and see the full story here.

  • HT:TheDailyCaller.Somali Islamists ban men, women from shaking hands.Al-Qaida-linked militants in war-torn southern Somalia have banned unrelated men and women from shaking hands, speaking or walking together in public, residents said Saturday. People who break the rules could be imprisoned, whipped or even executed. The insurgents already have banned women from working in public, leaving many mothers with a terrible choice: risk execution by going to sell some tea or vegetables in the marketplace, or stay safely at home and watch the children slowly starve.“It’s an awful rule. I feel like I’m under arrest. I’ve started to ignore the greetings of the women I know to avoid punishment,” Hussein Ali said by phone form the southern Somali town of Jowhar. The edict is also being enforced in the town of Elasha.Gunmen are searching buses for improperly dressed women or women traveling alone, said student Hamdi Osman in Elasha. She said she was once beaten for wearing Somali traditional dress instead of the long, shapeless black robes favored by the fighters. The Islamists’ insistence that women wear the long, heavy robes also forces many women to stay at home because they can’t afford the new clothing. In Jowhar, the insurgents are now also insisting that men grow their beards but shave their mustaches, said another resident, who asked not to be named for fear of retribution. The Islamists have also banned the cinema, music, and bras because they say they are all un-Islamic. Such restrictions are influenced by foreign fighters practicing Wahhabi Islam, which is much stricter than Somalia’s traditional Sufi Islam that incorporates a long tradition of poetry and song.“The last time I listened a song or music, was two years ago, before the insurgents managed the full control of my village,” said Bile Hassan. Now, he says, even the memory of music makes him feel afraid.Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigPeace.IPT.Why Are American Muslim Groups So Quiet About the Assassination of Pakistani Governor?American-Muslim groups were swift to issue statements condemning New Year’s Eve bombing attacks at a Nigerian army barracks and at a Coptic church in Alexandria, Egypt. But those same groups have been silent since Tuesday’s assassination of a moderate Pakistani governor over a religious dispute as Islamists rejoice and hail the killer as a hero.JeI leader Munawar Hasan blamed the victim, saying “Salman Taseer was himself responsible for his killing. Any Muslim worth the name could not tolerate blasphemy of the Prophet, as had been proved by this incident.
Sindh Asadhullah Bhutto, head of a JeI branch, told a news conference that Qadri “is a pious man and will go directly to heaven.”Bhutto then said that Aasia Bibi, the Catholic woman Taseer defended who is facing execution for alleged blasphemy “will suffer the same fate if the punishment awarded to her by the court for using derogatory remarks against Hazrat Mohammed Mustafa (PBUH) is not implemented.”American Muslim groups which advocate interfaith dialogue can benefit from taking a stand for Taseer and Bibi. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called the New Year’s Eve bombings “cowardly” attacks meant “to harm long-term relations between Muslims and Christians.” But its officials have endorsed blasphemy laws as recently as 2006.During a news conference in the wake of the riots protesting the publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, then-CAIR Chairman Parvez Ahmed said Muslim outrage about the cartoons was justified, but that “Violence is not justified. Peaceful protest is justified. Harmful, destructive behavior of properties is not justified.”Still, he indicated that expanding hate-crime laws to cover speech might not be enough. Policy makers should “even contemplate about passing blasphemy laws,” he said, citing icons including the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad which have been ridiculed. “So governments, legislatures, international bodies … must contemplate about what are the ways in which an anti-blasphemy law can be passed that can protect the right to exercise freedom of religion.”CAIR officials declined an invitation to appear on the “O’Reilly Factor” last month to discuss the Bibi case. Those officials normally do not hesitate to weigh in on foreign affairs when it suits them, condemning burka bans in France and Tunisia, and issuing almost daily statements Israel’s 2009-10 fight against Hamas in Gaza. But the pattern of selective outrage is well-established. The 2004 murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh after he produced a short film, “Submission,” which was critical of Islam’s treatment of women, drew no condemnation. The same goes for threats that have followed Van Gogh’s partner in that project, Aayan Hirsi Ali.When CAIR national spokesman Ibrahim Hooper mentions Hirsi Ali, it is to dismiss her, saying “her message is one of bigotry, not one of mutual understanding” and calling her ‘just one more Muslim-basher on the lecture circuit.”The Muslim Public Affairs Council, which has stood up for free speech, hasn’t issued any statement on Taseer’s killing or what it means for Pakistan’s future. The same goes for the Islamic Society of North America.A looming “descent into chaos” in Pakistan will only make the challenge in the fight against terror greater. A few press releases aren’t going to change that. But a united front among Muslim communities around the world that – while they may be offended by things written or said about their faith – killing the offenders is worse. That would be an important statement for tolerance and modernity.Hmmmm.....He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it. Martin Luther King, Jr."Read the full story here.

  • Former US attorney-general visits Hamas terror leader in Gaza.Ramsey Clark, a long-time critic of US foreign policy who served on Saddam Hussein's legal team, meets with Haniyeh.Former US Attorney-General Ramsey Clark is in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on a solidarity mission.Clark met with Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Wednesday to kick off a three-day visit. He'll also meet with human rights activists and visit relatives of people killed during Operation Cast Lead two years ago.Clark did not comment to reporters, but Haniyeh's office says the two discussed Israel's blockade of Gaza and recent escalations in Israeli-Palestinian fighting. The visit places Clark at odds with American foreign policy, which shuns Hamas as a terrorist group. A longtime critic of US military policy in the Middle East, Clark served on Saddam Hussein's defense team.Hmmmm....Who's Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark 1. 2. ?Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigPeace.China: No Need to Verify, Just Trust Us.Americans are frustrated with China. Big time. The most recent leaks of State Department documents reveal Peking with explicit complicity in arming Iran with ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons technology. An article also appeared in the Washington Post calling attention to the major advancements China has made in ballistic missile technology, including rockets capable of attacking American aircraft carriers at distances up to and beyond 1000 kilometers.Americans rightfully are asking, “Were not the Chinese going to help us with sanctions against Iran? Didn’t they vote for the UN sanctions? Does such a report run counter to the conventional narrative that despite some small lapses, the PRC is really helping the US counter such proliferation?”Well, Americans are right to have doubts. Chinese “cooperation” is a pile of largely false promises. It reminds one of the story about a priest who enters the monastery and prays to God to “let me be chaste, but not yet!”What do the facts show? Let’s review just the past few years the highlights of Peking’s actions.Chinese airports are used to trans-ship North Korean armaments to Iran. For some reason, the excuse we hear is that China is unaware of such activity and is just “not looking” in the right direction. On November 30, the Wall Street Journal had a hysterical news story how China’s inspectors were just not doing an adequate interdiction job. The headline was China was looking “in the wrong direction.” What, they could not figure out which of the planes at their airports were North Korean? They even had folks at the Arms Control Association fooled. China says ACA, is only guilty of “benign neglect,” don’t you see? Nothing to worry about here. Apparently, it did not occur to them that China is helping ship missiles to Iran from North Korea deliberately. When it was revealed such rockets from North Korea have a range around 3500-4000 kilometers, we were initially told not to worry. We are assured that these new missiles could indeed allow Iran for the first time to reach Western Europe but well, the Iranians do not have the technology to build small nuclear weapons of the size that could be mated with such rockets. Oh, I really am feeling better already! What good news. But then just a few days later, Global Security Newswire reported North Korea was working on making smaller nuclear weapons capable of being mated to their current rocket inventory which of course includes the BM-25. And their current rocket inventory is being shipped to Iran. Oops!Unfortunately, there is a pattern that cannot be ignored. The Chinese regime believes it has a right to rule the world. It reacts menacingly to perceived slights and blacklists those it deems not sufficiently supportive—panda-huggers as they are known. Some analysts see their enhanced military capabilities as nothing more than part of their ocean port projects in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia and Timor. But these projects are the first installment of future Chinese hegemonic actions. China has a thirst for petroleum and natural gas that is second to none in the world. It is securing not just access to such resources but a guaranteed supply. Their military will follow the port projects and that will be the key signature on all energy deals they are now making—whether off the coast of Brazil or Cuba. The oil is theirs, period.Proliferation of the most dangerous kinds of weapons and the missiles to deliver them are part of this strategy. Arm America’s adversaries and give China a free hand as much as possible. And then add to that the following “top 25 Chinese hegemonic hits”.Read the full story here.

  • Twitter Subpoenaed by U.S. Government for Wikileaks Accounts. The U.S. government has asked Twitter to hand over private messages sent to and from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and other WikiLeaks staffers. In all likelihood, it's also contacting other web services Assange may have used to get contact details and personal information about Assage's activities and supporters.
According to a report just filed by The New York Times, Twitter has been subpoenaed by the U.S. government in connection to the ongoing WikiLeaks investigation.Twitter, like most web companies, has a "spy guide," documents pertaining to compliance with request from governments and law enforcement into criminal investigations. These requests are supposed to be accompanied by subpoenas or warrants.According to Twitter's specific guide [PDF], "In accordance with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, non-public information about Twitter users is not released unless we have received a subpoena, court order or other legal process document." Such requests would only be valid if sent by law enforcement. In this particular case, every indication would point to the speedy release of Assange's direct messages and other data to the U.S. government. The court ordered Twitter to surrender the above information for accounts belonging to Assange, WikiLeaks, Pfc. Bradley Manning (widely suspected to be the original source responsible for transfering cables to WikiLeaks), and several WikiLeaks associates and volunteers, including Birgitta Jonsdottir, Rop Gongrijp, and San Francisco-based programmer Jacob Appelbaum.Google and other web and social media services all have the same kinds of spy guide documents governing compliance; we'd be shocked if Twitter was the only company that got a WikiLeaks-related court order to surrender information. And we're pretty sure other services have much more sensitive information on Assange et al.Hmmmmm......"A Tweet to far"?Read the full story here.

  • WikiLeaks demands Google and Facebook unseal US subpoenas.Call comes after it emerges that US has tried to force Twitter to release WikiLeaks members' private details.WikiLeaks has demanded that Google and Facebook unseal any US court subpoenas they have received after it emerged that a court in Virginia had ordered Twitter secretly to hand over details of accounts and use of the micro-blogging site by five figures associated with the group, including Julian Assange.Amid strong evidence that a US grand jury has begun a wideranging trawl for details of what networks and accounts WikiLeaks used to communicate with Bradley Manning, the US serviceman accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of sensitive government cables, some of those named in the subpoena said they would fight disclosure."Today, the existence of a secret US government grand jury espionage investigation into WikiLeaks was confirmed for the first time as a subpoena was brought into the public domain," WikiLeaks said in a statement today. The writ, approved by a court in Virginia in December, demands that the San Franscisco based micro-blogging site hand over all details of accounts and private messaging on Twitter – including the computers and networks – used by five individuals. Those include WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Manning, Icelandic MP Brigitta Jonsdottir and Dutch hacker Rop Gonggrijp. Three of those – Gonggrijp, Assange and Jonsdottir – were named as "producers" of the first significant leak from the US cables cache, a video of an Apache helicopter attack that killed civilians and journalist in Baghdad. The broad-reaching legal document also targets an account held by Jacob Applebaum, a US computer programmer whose computer and phones were examined by US officials in July after he was stopped returning from Holland to the US.The court issuing the subpoena said it believed that it believed that there were "reasonable grounds" to believe Twitter held information "relevant and material to an ongoing criminal investigation."It also ordered Twitter not to notify the targets of the subpoena, which the company successfully challenged. The court order crucially demands that Twitter hand over details of source and destination Internet Protocol addresses used to access the accounts, which would help investigators identify how the named individuals communicated with each other, as well as email addresses used. The emergence of the subpoena appears to confirm for the first time the existence of a secret grand jury empanelled to investigate whether individuals associated with WikiLeaks, and Assange in particular, can be prosecuted for alleged conspiracy with Manning to steal the classified documents."I think I am being given a message, almost like someone breathing in a phone," Jonsdottir said in a Twitter message.Twitter has declined comment on the claim, saying only that its policy is to notify its users, where possible, of government requests for information.
The subpoena itself is an unusual one known as a 2703(d) which a recent Federal appeals court ruled was insufficient to order the disclosure of the contents of communication. Significantly, however, that ruling is binding in neither Virginia – where it was issued – or in San Francisco where Twitter is based.Assange has promised to fight the order, as has Jonsdottir, who said in a Twitter message that she had "no intention to hand my information over willingly".Gonggrijp praised Twitter for notifying him and others that the US had subpoenaed his details. "It appears that Twitter, as a matter of policy, does the right thing in wanting to inform their users when one of these comes in," Gonggrijp said. "Heaven knows how many places have received similar subpoenas and just quietly submitted all they had on me."Read the full story here.

  • HT:Spectator.BREAKING: CBO Says Repealing ObamaCare Would Reduce Net Spending by $540 Billion. The Congressional Budget Office, in an email to Capitol Hill staffers obtained by the Spectator, has said that repealing the national health care law would reduce net spending by $540 billion in the ten year period from 2012 through 2021. That number represents the cost of the new provisions, minus Medicare cuts. Repealing the bill would also eliminate $770 billion in taxes. It's the tax hikes in the health care law (along with the Medicare cuts) which accounts for the $230 billion in deficit reduction.Read the full story here.

  • HT:AhmadiyyaTimes.Pakistan: With Salmaan Taseer out of way, Sherry Rehman next target of Taliban.Praising the commando of Pakistan's elite force Mumtaz Qadri for assassinating Punjab Governor Salaam Taseer, the Taliban warned that all those who opposed the blasphemy law would meet a similar fate.Angered by the governor's opposition to a controversial blasphemy law, Qadri shot him in a market as Islamabad on Tuesday. The blasphemy law was introduced by Pakistani military ruler General Muhammad Zia-ul Haq in 1980s.Under the law, anyone who speaks ill of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad commits a crime and faces the death penalty but activists say the vague terminology has led to its misuse.Only recently, Pakistan People's Party leader and former information minister Sherry Rehman submitted a bill in the national assembly to amend the blasphemy law.Talking about amendment in the law TTP spokesperson Ihsanullah Ihsan said, "Our next target is Sherry Rehman who introduced the bill to the Parliament She wants to make amendments in religion. Other politicians who supported this move are also on our radar. All secular lawmakers and politicians should know that we monitor their activities and we can target them any time."Ihsan added, "Mumtaz Qadri, the killer of Salman Taseer is hero for all the Muslims. He has encouraged Muslims around the world and Taliban appreciates his efforts. He gave a message to the world that whoever insulted the Prophet would not be spared."The Taliban spokesperson criticised those who attended Taseer's funeral. "Under Islamic law no one should offer prayers at a funeral." Allama Afzal Chisti of Ulema Wing of PPP led the funeral prayers on Wednesday.Interior Minister Rehman Malik also advised Rehman, a former journalist, to leave the country for her own safety. Malik told her on phone to leave the country at the earliest because “fanatics are hell bent to take her life due to her views on blasphemy laws.”Malik cited intelligence reports that extremists were after her and advised her to go abroad for the time being. Rehman, however, refused to leave the country. She told Malik that she would not be attending the National Assembly session due to inadequate security in the federal capital. She also told Malik that she felt more secure in Karachi than in Islamabad.Pakistan's anti-blasphemy law has been in the spotlight since November when a court sentenced a Christian mother of four to death, in a case that has exposed deep rifts in the troubled Muslim nation.Hmmmm....."The Religion of Peace".Read the full story here.More here.

  • HT:TheAmericanDream.Unfortunately, Obamacare Is Not Going To Be Repealed In 2010, It Is Not Going To Be Repealed In 2011 And There Is A Good Chance That It May Never Be Repealed.Right now the mainstream media is paying a lot of attention to the effort by Republicans in the House of Representatives to repeal the health care reform law that Barack Obama and the Democrats crammed down the throats of the American people during the last session of Congress. House Republicans are calling their legislation the "Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act", and the House of Representatives is expected to pass the legislation on January 12th. However, there are two huge problems. One is that Democrats control the U.S. Senate and they have declared that there is not a chance in the world that a repeal of the health care reform law will get through them. Secondly, even if a repeal of the health care law did somehow magically get to Barack Obama's desk, he has sworn that he would veto it. So unfortunately, Obamacare is not going to be repealed any time soon.So what do the American people think about all of this?Well, according to a Gallup Poll released this week, 46 percent of Americans are in favor of repealing Obamacare while 40 percent of Americans do not want it repealed. The numbers are pretty close. Republicans overwhelmingly want it repealed while Democrats overwhelmingly want to keep the new health care law.But perhaps someone should be paying attention to what doctors are saying about this new legislation. This new health care law is driving thousands upon thousands of American doctors out of the profession. In fact, according to one absolutely stunning new poll, 40 percent of all U.S. doctors plan to bail out of the profession over the next three years.Considering the fact that the U.S. was already facing a very serious shortage of doctors over the next several decades, this has the potential to be a national crisis of mammoth proportions.Today, there are nearly a million practicing physicians in the United States. So what in the world is going to happen if several hundred thousand of them actually do throw up their hands and head for the exits?Yes, this is really happening. The U.S. health care system is actually starting to come apart at the seams.Sadly, there is absolutely no chance that the new health care law is going to be repealed in the next two years. If Barack Obama wins in 2012, that will mean that we are facing at least six years until it has any chance of being repealed.Meanwhile, this new health care law is going to be savagely ripping apart our health care system and our entire economy. But this is the new Amerika - where "The American Dream" is rapidly becoming "The American Nightmare".
Hmmmm......"Change you can see"?And once America is completely disintegrating who will "Controll" what is left?

  • HT:ThePeoplesCube. My Favorite Progressive Talking Point in Jeopardy.I heard a very well versed progressive woman say this very thing to Comrade Red Square in a Houston book store."If it weren't for the Iraq War, we would have enough money for health care and other programs and there would be no deficit."For years, we had it as a solid gold talking point. In my opinion, it was our number one talking point, but now, I'm sad and concerned--we progressives are always sad and concerned, don't you know? Only now, I came across this very disturbing chart showing the war spending in comparison to all other spending. What! I said. This cannot be. No! No! No! The war spending in this chart appears miniscule. What will we do if the masses get a look at this chart? • HT:AhmadiyyaTimes.Pakistan: Orgy of hate.WHERE is the state? In the days since Punjab governor Salman Taseer`s assassination, the hate speech and incitements to violence have been openly, matter-of-factly and brazenly spread. What began as `celebrations` by obscure, extremist clerics has quickly snowballed into even mainstream religious party leaders seemingly endorsing the murder of Mr Taseer. And thus far there has been nothing, not a peep, not a meaningless arrest, not a word of condemnation from the government or state officials against the orgy of self-congratulatory hatred swatches of the population have been wallowing in since the governor`s assassination. The `mainstream` conservative and religious political party leaders who appear to be endorsing Mr Taseer`s killing have set a new low in what passes for acceptable public discourse. It is one thing for some illiterate, small-time `religious leaders` in parts of the country where modernity has yet to visit to spew out odious thoughts; it is quite another to see familiar political faces publicly expressing sympathy for a murderer and his motive. What appears to have happened is that when the initial eulogising of Mumtaz Qadri`s act by the far right was not condemned by any quarter, other conservative elements were emboldened to come forward with their own expressions of support and understanding for Mr Taseer`s killer. Perversely, a call by obscure clerics gathered under the banner of an equally obscure religious group to not give Mr Taseer a Muslim burial resulted in senior clerics associated with renowned religious institutions in Lahore declining to lead the funeral prayers for the late governor. Whether it was done out of fear or conviction is not known, but the chilling effect threats from extremists can have is very clear.Read the full story here.

  • Obama Eyeing Internet ID for Americans.STANFORD, Calif. - President Obama is planning to hand the U.S. Commerce Department authority over a forthcoming cybersecurity effort to create an Internet ID for Americans, a White House official said here today. It's "the absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government" to centralize efforts toward creating an "identity ecosystem" for the Internet, White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt said. That news, first reported by CNET, effectively pushes the department to the forefront of the issue, beating out other potential candidates including the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. The move also is likely to please privacy and civil liberties groups that have raised concerns in the past over the dual roles of police and intelligence agencies. The announcement came at an event today at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, where U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and Schmidt spoke. The Obama administration is currently drafting what it's calling the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace, which Locke said will be released by the president in the next few months. (An early version was publicly released last summer.)"We are not talking about a national ID card," Locke said at the Stanford event. "We are not talking about a government-controlled system. What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities." The Commerce Department will be setting up a national program office to work on this project, Locke said. Details about the "trusted identity" project are unusually scarce. Last year's announcement referenced a possible forthcoming smart card or digital certificate that would prove that online users are who they say they are. These digital IDs would be offered to consumers by online vendors for financial transactions.Hmmm....The original idea of the card came from Microsoft boss Bill Gates after seeing years ago the new Belgium micro chipped identity card! With such a card logging on a public computer would still tell the Gov who's on that computer.Big Brother in overdrive?Read the full story here.

  • China's New Fighter Jet Could Pose 'Terrifying' Challenge to U.S. Fleet. While the Pentagon downplays China’s rollout this week of what appears to be a jet fighter designed using sophisticated stealth technology, military experts are warning that the aircraft – reportedly capable of besting America’s F-22 in speed and maneuverability – could pose the greatest threat yet to U.S. air superiority.Decorated Navy fighter pilot Matthew “Whiz” Buckley, a Top Gun graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School who flew 44 combat missions over Iraq, says, “It’s probably leaps and bounds above where we are, and that’s terrifying.”“As a former Navy fighter pilot, going up against something that’s stealthy, highly maneuverable and with electronic systems more capable than mine -- that’ll keep me up at night,” said Buckley, now chief strategy officer at Fox3 Options LLC.Buckley said photos posted online of the radar-evading Chengdu J-20 jet fighter lead him to believe the aircraft has great stealth capabilities, based on what appears to be a bumpy exterior possibly housing stealth technology, and the lack of external components, such as a gas tank and missiles.“It was built to reduce radar signatures. You can tell it has some serious stealth technology,” he said. “My F-18 looks like an 18-wheeler on radar. That thing might not even show up.”“We used be No. 1 at having the leading technology. ... Now, we’re kind of in catch-up mode, where we’ve never really been before.”Hmmmm.....Obama "Lets cut the defence budget".Read the full story here.

  • HT:Northeast Intelligence Network.Fish & Bird kills: are we getting answers or being placated?7 January 2011: Readers looking for reassuring evidence that the recent massive die offs of fish and birds will find comfort in knowing that such events are historically not all that uncommon. Weather, pollution, parasites and disease are reported as the major culprits behind such events, even as reported yesterday by Glenn Beck. That appears to be the “safe, middle-of-the-road” explanation. It might even be the correct explanation. But what if it’s not? Also, why are we treated with absurd explanations by our government when the truth, if it is indeed the truth, would be more convincing? Before dismissing the concerns of us regular folks by citing statistics and general causes, however, shouldn’t we be getting answers that are specific to the latest series of incidents? Or at least have someone asking direct and specific questions instead of relying on anecdotal evidence? After all, we are supposedly at war, and our enemy has made it clear their intent to use biological and chemical weapons. If that is indeed a legitimate threat, doesn’t it make sense to know the truth before shrugging the events off to natural happenstance? After receiving several e-mails about this matter, including one from a soldier with extensive biological and chemical experience currently serving in Iraq, I thought it was time to begin conducting my own investigation.Hmmmm.....the Truth is out there"?Read the full story here.

  • Obama strongly backs US trials for terror suspects.WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama forcefully declared his support Friday for U.S. civilian trials of Guantanamo detainees, pledging to overturn language in a sweeping defense bill that would effectively block such trials anytime soon."The prosecution of terrorists in federal court is a powerful tool in our efforts to protect the nation and must be among the options available to us," the president said. "Any attempt to deprive the executive branch of that tool undermines our nation's counterterrorism efforts and has the potential to harm our national security."Obama made the comments even while signing the legislation, which also allows funding for a wide range of military and national security programs that the president said were too important to dispense with. The language reflects deep concerns in Congress and the country about Guantanamo detainees being tried on U.S. soil. The first Guantanamo detainee tried in federal court was acquitted in November on all but one of more than 280 charges that he took part in the al-Qaida bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa. That case ignited strident opposition to any further such trials.Obama's comments drew a swift rebuke from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky."The American people strongly oppose the president's goal of transferring these terrorists to the United States for trial and detention. And there is overwhelming bipartisan opposition in the Congress as evidenced by the legislation the president signed Friday," McConnell said. "When it comes to terrorism, we should err on the side of protecting the American people."Hmmm......"They don't trust me because of my middle name"?Read the full story here.

  • Get ready for gender-neutral passports.“They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’”The words “mother” and “father” will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, according to the State Dept.“The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father’,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services Brenda Sprague. “They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’”A statement on the State Department website noted: “These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.".Sprauge said the decision to remove the traditional parenting names was not an act of political correctness. Some conservative Christians are outraged over the decision.“Only in the topsy-turvy world of left-wing political correctness could it be considered an ‘improvement’ for a birth-related document to provide less information about the circumstances of that birth,” Family Research Council president Tony Perkins wrote in a statement to Fox News Radio. “This is clearly designed to advance the causes of same-sex ‘marriage’ and homosexual parenting without statutory authority, and violates the spirit if not the letter of the Defense of Marriage Act.”Robert Jeffress, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, agreed.“It’s part of an overall attempt at political correctness to diminish the distinction between men and women and to somehow suggest you don’t need both a father and a mother to raise a child successfully,” said Jeffress. “(This decision) was made to make homosexual couples feel more comfortable in rearing children.”Hmmmm....Where are the days that politicians would kiss babies in order to gain votes?Read the full story here.

  • Ayaan Hirsi Ali: Submission II is too risky.Ayaan Hirsi Ali says she will not make sequels to her controversial 2004 film , an attack on the treatment of Muslim women. In an interview for Dutch TV, the former Dutch politician said the risk to the crew and cast would be too great. The script for is finished and a third part was planned, Ms Hirsi Ali says, but it would be too difficult to guarantee anonymity for producers or actors.Submission criticised alleged violence against women in Islam, and featured images of women’s bodies painted with verses from the Qur’an. After the film was aired on Dutch TV, its director Theo van Gogh was murdered by a Muslim extremist. The filmmaker and broadcaster was an outspoken critic of Islam. He had been open about his role in collaborating with Ms Hirsi Ali on Submission, which some Muslims criticised as blasphemous.Fanatics Submission II was to have tackled the oppression of homosexuals in Islam. In part three God would have been portrayed speaking directly. Although Ms Hirsi Ali says she feels too great a sense of responsibility to go ahead with the sequels, she denies her decision was based on fear. Creating a climate of fear was precisely the aim of Muslim fanatics who reject any criticism of Islam, she says. • Four IDF soldiers injured from gunfire along Gaza border.Terrorist cell ambushes paratrooper patrol.Four soldiers were injured by gunfire along the border fence of the central Gaza Strip Friday evening.According to preliminary reports, a cell of terrorists was situated along the fence near Kibbutz Nirim and opened fire on IDF soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade with automatic weapons and mortars.Palestinian sources reported that the firefight lasted 20 minutes and that tank shells were fired, according to AFP. There was no word of Palestinian casualties. The cell apparently waited in ambush for an IDF patrol and opened fire when the patrol passed by. An officer in the Southern Command told Channel 10: "We are still learning the details of the event. The soldiers were transferred to the trauma center at Soroka Hospital [in Beersheba] where their condition will be determined."The officer continued, "From initial details, it seems that we are dealing with a planned ambush by a terrorist cell that intended to observe IDF forces operating in the area where the incident occurred." He added that additional forces were quickly called to the location.Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported that IAF helicopters fired missiles into the Strip in response to the incident, which the IDF spokesperson declined to confirm or deny.Responding to reports of suspicions that some of the soldiers were injured by friendly fire from another unit operating in the area, the IDF spokesperson said that the possibility is being investigated along with several other scenarios. The spokesman noted that an investigation has not yet been carried out.Read the full story here.

  • Package Addressed to Napolitano Ignites at D.C. Postal Facility Day After Maryland Scare.WASHINGTON -- A package addressed to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano ignited at a Washington postal facility Friday, a day after fiery packages sent to Maryland's governor and transportation secretary burned the fingers of workers who opened them.It was unclear if the package had the right address, but a law enforcement official confirmed to Fox News that Napolitano's name was on it and it appears to be related to the packages that ignited Thursday in Maryland.FBI Spokeswoman Lindsay Godwin said initial information indicated the parcel that ignited in northeast Washington about 2:45 p.m. was similar to the two packages opened in Maryland on Thursday. The Washington postal facility was evacuated and no injuries were reported. The Maryland packages contained a note railing against highway signs urging motorists to report suspicious activity, investigators revealed. The message read: "Report suspicious activity! Total Bull----! You have created a self fulfilling prophecy."The packages, addressed to Gov. Martin O'Malley and to Transportation Secretary Beverley Swaim-Staley, have been taken to the FBI lab in Quantico, Va., for forensic analysis. They were opened within a 15-minute period Thursday at state government buildings 20 miles apart. The workers who opened the packages singed their fingers, but there were no significant injuries.Soon after, mailrooms across Maryland were cleared and two other suspicious packages uncovered, though they turned out to be a toner cartridge and laptop batteries.Explosive material wasn't found in either package that ignited and authorities aren't sure if any other dangerous packages are out there, but mailroom employees were back at work Friday. They had pictures of the packages and were advised to be vigilant about anything suspicious.
Hmmmm....Did i not mention yesterday in my posting about the exploding packages that this will probably result in more TSA scanners?Well the link to Napolitano is there.Read the full story here.

  • Obama mouthpiece Robert Gibbs was forced out by new henchman William Daley.I wondered yesterday whether Robert Gibbs jumped or was pushed and noted that President Barack Obama’s words indicated that it was “not an entirely voluntary departure”.It’s being reported by John King on CNN right now that Gibbs wanted to be a presidential counsellor – something he’s been putting about for quite a while – but William Daley, the new chief of staff, nixed this because he believed that too many cooks would spoil the presidential broth. So that’s why Gibbs is out.Additionally, King reports that Valerie Jarrett, whose sole qualification to being a senior counsellor seems to be that she’s a long-time Chicago buddy of Barack and Michelle Obama, will have her wings clipped. Daley, not Jarrett, will be the person speaking to the business community. So the next question is: with Gibbs and David Axelrod gone, how much longer will Valerie Jarrett last?Read the full story here.

  • Egypt Threatens NYC/Bloomberg Removal of Cleopatra's Needle.Since 1881, the obelisk known as Cleopatra's Needle has stood in New York's Central Park, but a letter from the secretary general of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities indicates that this may change if the monument is not taken better care of. Recently, Zahi Hawass, the aforementioned secretary general and archaeologist, wrote to the Central Park Conservancy and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to inform them that if steps are not taken to protect the obelisk, it would be removed."I am glad that this monument has become such an integral part of New York City, but I am dismayed at the lack of care and attention that it has been given," Hawass wrote. "Recent photographs that I have received show the severe damage that has been done to the obelisk, particularly to the hieroglyphic text, which in places has been completely worn away. I have a duty to protect all Egyptian monuments whether they are inside or outside of Egypt. If the Central Park Conservancy and the City of New York cannot properly care for this obelisk, I will take the necessary steps to bring this precious artifact home and save it from ruin."The obelisk was originally one of a pair - the other currently resides in London - built around 1500 B.C. to honor Pharaoh Thutmose III. They were placed in the ancient city Heliopolis in Egypt, where they sat for a little over 1,500 years until 18 A.D., when they were taken by the Romans and placed at the entrance of the Ceasarium in Alexandria, according to TravellersinEgypt.com, a website that compiles information from people who have traveled in Egypt. In 1869, to commemorate the opening of the Suez Canal, the Khedive of Egypt, Ismail Pasha, gave the United States the obelisk that now sits in Central Park. The gift was an attempt to cultivate trade relations between the two countries, according to the Central Park Conservancy. Hawass finished his letter, which is posted on his blog, by writing "I strongly urge you to focus your efforts on saving this obelisk and preserving it for future generations. I am confident that you can find the resources in New York City to conserve this monument properly and pay this treasure the respect that it deserves. I eagerly await your prompt reply." A statement from Jonathan Kuhn, director of Art and Antiquities for the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation states: "We have been working in recent years with the Metropolitan Museum and the Central Park Conservancy to further analyze the condition of the obelisk and monitor its condition. There is no evidence at this point of any significant ongoing erosion."Hmmmm.....Obama and Bloomberg probably nodding in agreement to Zahi Hawass his letter.Read the full story here.HT:AstuteBloggers.

  • HT:CreepingSharia.Oooooooh Canada !OTTAWA — There is one law for all Canadians, and no religious group should expect special treatment when it comes to enforcement of the law, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Thursday. The remarks were made in response to reports that RCMP officers had apologized for arresting Muslims on terrorism-related charges during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. On Aug. 25, the RCMP and Ottawa Police arrested two Ottawa men — Hiva Muhammad Alizadeh, Misbahuddin Ahmed — on terrorism-related charges. A third man, Khurram Syed Sher, was arrested elsewhere. The next day, Aug. 26, the RCMP and city police staged a special, hour-long meeting with members of Ottawa’s Muslim community with the ostensible purpose of ensuring them that their community was not regarded with undue suspicion despite the arrests. However, at least one officer was heard apologizing during meeting for the arrests having occurred during Ramadan, which ran last year from Aug. 12 to Sept. 9.Asked Thursday about the apology, Harper said: “In fairness this is an operational matter for the RCMP and I wouldn’t pretend to know all the details and aspects of the story. But the general approach that this government would expect to see (from law enforcement agencies) is that the law, our important laws, are enforced every day of the year.”Prominent members of the Muslim Canadian Congress applauded the prime minister’s remarks, saying it is about time that senior government officials emphasized the unitary nature of Canadian law, and that religious sentiment cannot be allowed to interfere with the law.“He (Harper) is right,” said Salma Siddiqui, vice president of the Congress. “We have one law in Canada and it applies to everybody. We need to stop all this political correctness.”“The notion that in Ramadan you can’t arrest people is so foolish,” Tarek Fatah, a founding member of the Congress, told a Calgary radio station.Hmmmmm......Harper ....Canada's John Wayne?Read the full story here.

  • Mysterious Bird Deaths Mapped on Google. The story out of Arkansas late last week that 5,000 blackbirds had fallen out of the sky over Beebe, a small town in the northwest part of the state, had people scratching their heads. What caused the mysterious deaths? Google's custom mapping features were put to use yesterday afternoon to build a map that highlights dozens of similar incidents that have taken place around the world this month. Most of the mass bird deaths have happened over the United States, but reports are also coming out of Sweden, the Philippines, Italy and many other countries. The map provides a quick read on what places have been affected, but it could also help to solve the conundrum. One reader left comments suggesting that the map could be superimposed over a current global oil exploration map to test the hypothesis that the deaths could have been caused by ground penetrating tomography.View -- and interact with -- the map here.Hmmmm....Something poisonous traveling along the Jet stream?Read the full story here.

  • Magnetic North Pole Shifts, Forces Runway Closures at Florida Airport. The planet's northern magnetic pole is drifting slowly but steadily towards Russia -- and it's throwing off planes in Florida.Tampa International Airport was forced to readjust its runways Thursday to account for the movement of the Earth's magnetic fields, information that pilots rely upon to navigate planes. Thanks to the fluctuations in the force, the airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to change taxiway signs to account for the shift, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The poles are generated by movements within the Earth's inner and outer cores, though the exact process isn't exactly understood. They're also constantly in flux, moving a few degrees every year, but the changes are almost never of such a magnitude that runways require adjusting, said Paul Takemoto, a spokesman for the FAA.The magnetic fields vary from place to place. Adjustments are needed now at airports in Tampa, but they aren't immediately required at all airports across the country. So just how often is something like this necessary? "It happens so infrequently that they wouldn't venture a guess," Takemoto told FoxNews.com. "In fact, you're the first journalist to ever ask me about it.""You want to be absolutely precise in your compass heading," he pointed out. "To make sure the precision is there that we need, you have to make these changes." Kathleen Bergen, another spokeswoman for the FAA, explained that runway designations and charting rely upon geomagnetic information. "Aviation is charted using latitude and longitude and the magnetic poles," she told FoxNews.com.The shift is likely a normal oscillation of the Earth's magnetic field, Stoner said, and not the beginning of a flip-flop of the north and south magnetic poles, a phenomenon that last occurred 780,000 years ago. Such reversals have taken place 400 times in the last 330 million years, according to magnetic clues sealed in rocks around the world. Each reversal takes a thousand years or more to complete. "People like to think something special is happening in their lifetimes, but despite the dramatic changes, I don't see any evidence of it," Stoner said. "It's probably just a normal wandering of the pole." Hmmmm....What and who else is affected by the Pole Shift?Read the full story here.

  • Sobbing Coptic Christians mark grim Christmas Day in wake of suicide bomb attack on church.Egyptian Christians, many sobbing and garbed in black, attended Christmas Eve masses despite security fears after a New Year's suicide bombing which killed 21 worshippers at an Alexandria church.Al-Qaida in Iraq had threatened Christians in Iraq and Egypt in the weeks leading up to the holidays. Militant websites had even posted names and addresses of churches in Egypt to target, raising fears of a follow-up attack on celebrations of the Orthodox Christmas, which Egypt's Coptic Christian minority marks on Friday.A heavy police detail was assigned to guard Christmas Eve services across the country today.Vehicles were blocked from parking near churches. Police and church staff checked IDs, which denote religion - as well as people's wrists, where many Egyptian Christians bear the tattoo of a cross.A line of riot police stood at each end of the street at Saints Church in Alexandria, the target of Saturday's attack. Security officers with walkie-talkies fanned out across the streets surrounding the cathedral in the capital, Cairo, and metal detectors were set up at the entrances.Despite the fears, turnout was heavy for a service Christians said they were determined to attend. Muslims also joined some services as a show of solidarity.State TV gave heavy coverage to the Christmas Eve Mass to promote a sense of unity. President Hosni Mubarak's two sons and several Egyptian government ministers attended the services, as did some foreign diplomats. As in past years, state TV broadcast live Pope Shenouda III leading prayers and delivering his sermon at Cairo's Coptic Cathedral. The 87-year-old head of the Coptic Church recited the prayers, his voice sounding tired and cracking. He offered condolences 'to our sons in Alexandria and in several other countries for the martyrdom of innocent people.''I echo President Mubarak's remark that the blood of our sons is not cheap,' the pope said.At Saints Church, blood stains on the wall were a grim reminder of last weekend's sectarian violence. A stream of black-clad worshippers flowed in as Mass began.'It's worse than before,' said Marina Sammy, a young woman at the Saints Church whose family owns a store in Alexandria.'The events haven't improved attitudes at all. We've been attacked and insulted and our store windows were broken. There's no security at all.'Hmmmm....How many hours until the next attack?Read the full story here.

Many women who happen to leave marriages are forced into a life of shame; for some this is so much that they remain perpetually hidden behind closed doors. One thing that is for sure is that society fails to give these women a chance to breathe; they are spoken about and made to feel awkward wherever they go. “Nobody educated me about the next step after getting married and I blame my parents for that,” said Nadia Al-Otaiby, a 38-year-old divorcee. “I asked for a divorce only one month after I got married because I found out that the man I married was impossible to live with. There were also some other reasons which I prefer keeping to myself,” she said.“Imagine what people said about me when I got divorced just 30 days after getting married. Now I’m forced to walk shamefully whenever I leave the house as if I did something wrong,” she added.Every woman dreams to have a wedding day in which she is the center of attention among hundreds of women. However, when she gets divorced she turns into the center of attention of not just those who were invited to her wedding but the entire society.Read the full story here.

  • HT:NewsRealBlog.ObamaCare Exceeds the Limits of Congressional Authority. Judge Miffed. One of the first orders of business for the 112th Congress is for the new House to fulfill its campaign promise to pass a repeal of ObamaCare. This will be a vain effort, however, as repeal will likely die in the Senate. But even if repeal were to get through the Senate, President Obama would surely veto a repeal of ObamaCare. The better way for ObamaCare to be struck down is not by repeal, but by appeal: appeal to the courts. A Supreme Court decision on the constitutionality of ObamaCare would set huge precedents having far-reaching ramifications. The end of the first major skirmish in the legal war came December 13 with U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson’s decision in Virginia v. Sebelius. For ObamaCare, Friday the 13th came on a Monday.Created by the states, the federal government is a government of enumerated powers. The 10th Amendment makes this clear. But the Constitution does not specifically grant to the feds the power to do much of what they do. The feds therefore must find that power somewhere in the Constitution. So they invoke the Commerce Clause or the General Welfare Clause or something to justify what they do. But there must be limits to what the feds can do; otherwise America degenerates into just another totalitarian state. Where those limits are was the question before Judge Hudson, who ruled that the Minimum Essential Coverage Provision (Section 1501) of ObamaCare — better known as the “individual mandate” — is unconstitutional. Page 37 of Hudson’s decision:Congress lacked power under the Commerce Clause … to compel an individual to involuntarily engage in a private commercial transaction, as contemplated by the Minimum Essential Coverage Provision. … The unchecked expansion of congressional power to the limits suggested by the Minimum Essential Coverage Provision would invite unbridled exercise of federal police powers.Hmmmm......No to tyranny !Read the full story here.

  • Head Of Mossad ReNamed As Dr Dolittle. As my colleague Dominic Waghorn reports Saudi police have arrested a vulture suspected of spying for Israel. After searching the vulture the authorities say they found a GPS system and an identification tag bearing the words 'Tel Aviv University' and 'R65'.Agent R65, as the bird has not yet been called is still being held. The conditions R65 is being held in are unknown. However it is thought he is singing like a bird.No doubt most sensible people in the Saudi government do not believe R65 is part of the Mossad, but a lot of people in the region will because there is long, amusing, and yet sad history of media reports giving credence to stories in which animals are part of a Zionist plot.Last year, in Egypt, the regional governor of Sinai suggested that a shark which had attacked tourists may have sent there by the Israeli secret service. 'It is not out of the question. But it needs time to confirm," said Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha. The Iranians once caught 14 Mossad squirrels inside the Islamic Republic. All were wearing listening devices and cameras. In 2008 they arrested two spy pigeons near a nuclear site. These birds were suspected of spying for either Mossad or MI6. Etemad Melli newspaper quoted a government source - "Early this month, a black pigeon was caught bearing a blue-coated metal ring, with invisible strings," At the time a diplomatic source told me "It must be a shattering blow to our intel boys that that the 'invisible string' has been discovered, after all it's the first thing Britain has invented since the Hovercraft"Another added "It's clear there has been some sort of coo in Tehran", while a third told me, "I don't think this story has legs, but it does have wings"Also in 2008 the Palestinian newspaper WAFA printed a report claiming that jews had trained rats to distinguish between arabs and jews and released them into the Old City of Jerusalem. A year later the Israelis had trained wild boars to destroy Palestinian crops, antelope were patrolling the Lebanese border, and llamas were being trained but turned out to be too unruly and suspected of having pro Hizbollah sympathies. But squirrels wearing cameras? Sharks? Invisible strings, anti arab rats? And now Mossad vultures so stupid they forgot to take off their Tel Aviv ankle bracelets... to believe that, you have to believe that the Head of Mossad is not Tamir Pardo but in fact is...Dr Ben Dolittle.
Hmmmm....Contra intelligence is now seeking desperatly to catch one of the Speaking Mossad parrots hoping to question him thoroughly.Read the full animal planet story here.

  • U.S. Woman Said Detained In Iran 'Did Not Use Armenian Territory'. Armenian authorities have insisted that a U.S. woman reportedly detained in neighboring Iran on suspicion of espionage did not travel to Iran from Armenia.Iran's state run "Iran" newspaper reported this week that the 55-year-old woman -- identified as Hall Talayan -- was detained as she attempted to cross the Armenian-Iranian border. The newspaper claimed an espionage device was found in her teeth and she had no Iranian visa.Iran's state-run television said subsequently that she did actually not manage to enter Iran via the border with Armenia. The station quoted a "well-informed" source as saying that she "tried to enter the country illegally, but she was prevented from doing so." It said the woman is in Armenia. Armenia's National Security Service (NSS), which runs all Armenian border crossings, denied this, however. "A person with that identity did not enter Armenia and could have therefore not left Armenia," NSS spokesman Artsvin Baghramian said in a written statement. The U.S. State Department has cited "conflicting reports" and said it was seeking more information through the U.S. Embassy in Armenia and Swiss officials, who represent U.S. interests in Iran.Iranian authorities have not publicly reacted to the report.Hmmm......Perhaps a Zionist group of squirrels sneaked her over the border?Read the full story here.

  • HT:RossRightAngle.Islamist Minister of of Religious Affairs Suryadharma Ali – ‘Religious Freedom Doesn’t Apply to Ahmadiyah Dissenters.’.But meanwhile, RRA’s ‘old friend’ Suryadharma Ali, Minister for Religious Affairs, has stirred up another row by honouring, among others, West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zainul Majdi, the man who has been hounding Ahmadiyah. As the Jakarta Globe reported 6th January, ‘critics have lashed out at the Ministry of Religious Affairs for recently handing out awards to Muslim leaders, saying it unduly favored Islam over other faiths. The ministry on Monday presented awards to six governors and 10 district heads and mayors for “explicitly including Islamic education in regional bylaws.” Recipients included the governors of Bangka-Belitung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara and South Sulawesi…..Ismail Hasani, a senior researcher at the Setara Institute for Democracy and Peace, said the ministry “showed favoritism” by handing out the awards.“It’s supposed to be the Religious Affairs Ministry, not the Islamic Affairs Ministry,” Ismail said on Tuesday. “I fear that the objectivity of the country’s public officials has been compromised,” he added. “They no longer work for all groups in society, but rather they see things based on the dichotomy of majority and minority….Zainul is an Islamic cleric whose grandfather founded Nahdlatul Wathan, the biggest Islamic organization in the province,” Ismail said. “Now he has ambitions to build the country’s biggest Islamic center there, for which he’s already had two schools bulldozed. Not to mention he’s already quarantined the Ahmadiyah.”Hmmm.....Obama "Indonesia is an example of religious tolerance".Read the full story here.

  • HT:What'sUpWithThat. And now for something completely different! Are huge northeast snow storms due to global warming? That’s the theory; how about some data to show that a warmer climate should lead to less snow, not more. The data are easy to find and interpret. More than a century of winter snow totals and average winter temperatures (December-January-February) are posted on the NWS Philadelphia web site. Seasonal snow totals in Philadelphia are dominated by the occurrence (or non-occurrence) of large snow events (i.e., the snowiest winters have two or three major storms, and the least snowy winters had none). Here’s some charts and correlations.Read the full story here.
