  • HT:InfidelBloggers.Kobe Bryant's deal with Turkish Airlines has angered many Armenian Americans.Kobe Bryant's newest endorsement agreement has sparked protests and incited boycotts among Armenian Americans in Los Angeles. He made a two-year deal with Turkish Airlines, which is trying to promote the start of nonstop flights in March from Istanbul to Los Angeles. Some Armenian Americans have taken that as a slight, considering that, for years, Armenian Americans have pushed the U.S. to recognize the early 20th century killings of some 1.5 million Armenians in what was then the Ottoman Empire as genocide, a term the Turkish government has strenuously rejected.California has 600,000 to 700,000 people of Armenian descent, according to Aram Hamparian, executive director of the Armenian National Committee of America."Many of them are fans of the Lakers and fans of Kobe, at least until now," he said.Bryant is to be the poster boy of the campaign, his face plastered on billboards, and print, television and online ads early as next year. Some Armenians are calling for Bryant to use his fame to push U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) to schedule a vote on House Resolution 252, which would recognize the Armenian deaths as genocide."Kobe is a champion of national basketball and should be a champion of human rights," said Casper Jivalagian, executive member of the Armenian Youth Federation's Western region. "We want to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance to right this wrong."Kobe might want to ask Lamar Odom's wife, Kourtney, and sister-in-law, Kim Kardashian, about the Armenian Genocide.Hmmmm....You know that "Armenian Genocide" that Erdogan claims never excisted.Read the full story here.

  • Iran holding secret talks with Turkey, others, says report.Iran has begun secret negotiations with Turkey and three others to surrender significant amounts of its uranium stockpile and cease enrichment in exchange for an end to international sanctions, the Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.According to the British daily’s report, the Turkish-led deal calls on Iran to ship roughly 1,000 kilograms of its low-enriched uranium, as well as its entire 30 kilogram stockpile of 20 percent enriched uranium, to a safe location. In return, France and Russia will supply ready-made fuel rods for the medical isotope reactor for which Iran says it has been enriching uranium to 20 percent – a level which halves the time needed to manufacture weapons-grade material. In exchange, the international community would agree to end sanctions that have crippled the country's economy, the daily said.France, Russia and the United States have also been involved in the negotiations, which began after a meeting between Ahmed Davutoğlu, Turkey's foreign minister, and Iranian officials in Bahrain earlier this month, the daily reported, citing anonymous diplomatic sources.
Hmmm.....Nothing about the uranium being mined in Venezuela for Iran?Or that's not included in the Turkish deal probably will pass trough Turkish harbors?Read the full story here and here.

  • Muslims unveil Times Square ad.A group called Muslims for Peace, which supports moving the mosque near Ground Zero, will unveil a billboard in Times Square today that promotes a message of tolerance in Islam. The video ad, on a 520-square-foot CBS billboard at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue, reads “Muslims for love, loyalty and peace and features images of a heart, an American flag and a dove. The video will run every hour on the hour daily through Jan. 17.“The message of Islam is being hijacked by extremists,” said Waseem Sayed, spokesman for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, a self-described “moderate” branch of Islam. “People who commit violence get all the publicity in the world; it’s a much harder task for those of us who believe that Islam’s message is a peaceful one."Sayed said his group supports moving the highly controversial mosque and Islamic center proposed near Ground Zero".Hmmmm....I wonder how Iman Rauf feels about this?Care to comment Iman Rauf? • Gaping Holes in Airline Security: Loaded Gun Slips Past TSA Screeners.Last fall, as he had done hundreds of times, Iranian-American businessman Farid Seif passed through security at a Houston airport and boarded an international flight. He didn't realize he had forgotten to remove the loaded snub nose "baby" Glock pistol from his computer bag. But TSA officers never noticed as his bag glided along the belt and was x-rayed. When he got to his hotel after the three-hour flight, he was shocked to discover the gun traveled unnoticed from Houston. "It's just impossible to miss it, you know. I mean, this is not a small gun," Seif told ABC News. "How can you miss it? You cannot miss it." But the TSA did miss it, and despite what most people believe about the painstaking effort to screen airline passengers and their luggage before they enter the terminal, it was not that unusual.Experts tell ABC News that every year since the September 11 terror attacks, federal agencies have conducted random, covert "red team tests," where undercover agents try to see just how much they can get past security checks at major U.S. airports. And while the Department of Homeland Security closely guards the results as classified, those that have leaked in media reports have been shocking.According to one report, undercover TSA agents testing security at a Newark airport terminal on one day in 2006 found that TSA screeners failed to detect concealed bombs and guns 20 out of 22 times. A 2007 government audit leaked to USA Today revealed that undercover agents were successful slipping simulated explosives and bomb parts through Los Angeles's LAX airport in 50 out of 70 attempts, and at Chicago's O'Hare airport agents made 75 attempts and succeeded in getting through undetected 45 times.Ervin said a combination of factors is likely to blame for the persistent failures on the part of screeners. Low pay, poor training, and the monotony involved in watching bags pass through x-ray machines are a recipe for trouble, Ervin said. "To be fair to screeners, it's very difficult work," he said. "After so many hours of seeing things that are innocuous, there's really a limit for the human brain to process something anomalous." Hmmm...Now that's supposed to make you feel safer,i presume they didn't miss a single double cup seize passenger?Read the full scandal story here.

  • Texas couple face jail for using charity to funnel millions to Iran.A Texas couple face jail after it was claimed they used a charity to secretly funnel millions of dollars to Iran, flouting a US embargo on the Middle Eastern country.Married Hossein Lahiji, 47 of McAllen, Texas and Najmeh Vahid, 35 of San Antonio, Texas, are accused of tax exemptions for their donations to the Portland-based Child Foundation charity, which has alleged links to terrorist group Hezbollah. The head of the charity, Mehrdad Yasrebi, allegedly funneled money that was meant for food and other assistance to his cousin Ahmad Iranshahi, 53, and to a bank controlled by the Iranian government. The charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering could carry a 20-year prison term and a $500,000 fine. The charge of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. could bring five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The indictment alleges that the defendants transferred $1.8 million in supposed donations to a Portland charity called The Child Foundation from 1995 to at least 2008. The funds were then invested in Iran. The two 'retained interest and control in Iran over a significant part of the transferred funds,' the statement says. But, they claimed them as charitable deductions on their U.S. tax returns. The Child Foundation, listed as a co-conspirator, allegedly worked with the Iranian government.Founders of The Child Foundation 'consulted with and sought approval, support and monetary assistance' from 'the Hezballah brothers, Iranian diplomats, Iranian ayatollahs and other Iranian governmental representatives,' the indictment alleges. The indictment also charges that Iranshahi and the Child Foundation 'would split the proceeds of certain donations with Iran's Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi'.Hmmm....Merry Christmas care to make a donation to the US goverment?Read the full story here.

  • EU Report Warns Against Losing Ground With U.S.European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton has called on European leaders to develop a coherent, common foreign policy in order to prevent the United States from turning away from Europe.Ashton's call was contained in a five-page report on EU-U.S. relations presented at an EU summit meeting in Brussels on December 17, along with assessments of the bloc’s relationships with China and Russia.Ashton was appointed in November 2009 to lead efforts to coordinate the union’s foreign affairs but has faced criticism from European governments for her performance to date. The paper on EU-U.S. ties is an indication that Ashton considers regaining influence in Washington a priority. The document, obtained by "The Guardian" and the "International Herald Tribune," warns: "Conversely, if we overpromise and underdeliver, if we prioritize process over substance or if we don't know what we want, the U.S. will turn its attention elsewhere."Ashton says Europe is “no longer the main strategic preoccupation” of U.S. foreign policy and that Washington is “increasingly looking to new partners to address old and new problems.”Hmmm....For anyone who doesn't understand it, Obama's "outreach to Muslims" is the end of the cooperation with Europe. The result will be that Europe turns to Russia.Read the full story here.

  • Mother's exasperated rant at passport agency call centre worker earns her a visit from the Secret Service.A mother was interrogated by the Secret Service after making an offhand remark about 'killing the President' whilst on a phone call to a civil servant.Sue Velezquez made the mock threat after being driven to her wits end by a jobsworth worker at the U.S. passport agency.'It's not like I'm gonna kill the f****** president,' said the 52-year-old in exasperation as she asked for her daughter's documents to be returned in time for the girl's wedding.Ms Velezquez, a mother of three, thought no more about it until she was phoned by a man identifying himself as a Secret Service agent who said he was outside her home. When she explained it was the wrong address, the agents tracked down her new house and sent three police cars to escort her to the station where they interrogated her.Threatening to kill, harm or kidnap the president is a federal crime but it is unlikely Ms Velezquez will face punishment, given that her threat was not serious. Her troubles began when she rang the U.S. Passport Agency to ask they return her daughter's certificate of citizenship, which she had sent off to them to renew her passport.Although her children are Americans, the daughter in question was born in Mexico so needs the certificate to get married.Ms Velezquez rang her local state department support office in Naperville, Illinois and became gradually enraged by the red tape and waffle the civil servant was giving her.'I said to him, I said, "Sir, I can't even get an appointment to get my paperwork back".'And then I said, 'It's not like I'm gonna kill the f****** president.'Soon after a three car police escort arrived at her real home and took her down the station for questioning.'When the agents asked for my driver's license, my hands were literally shaking,' said Ms Velezquez.'And then they wanted me to sign a medical release, and I said, 'You can kiss my a**'.Ms Velezquez's feistiness did not end there.'The Secret Service acted like I wanted to kill Obama.'I told them: 'You're wasting your time and our taxpayer money in this economic time on this BS?''And I really wish I could get some help from somebody with the passports and certificate of citizenship.'I've sent repeated letters to the passport office starting in August of this year, asking them to please relinquish those papers. Right now, I can't even get my daughter into a driving school, much less obtain a marriage license.'She added: 'I am a straight-up person and I talk straight from the hip. And you can't take that away from me because I live in America.'Hmmm...Sounds like "lively" lady (smiles).Read the full story here.

  • Russia to keep Satan ballistic missiles in service until 2026.Russia will continue to deploy SS-18 Satan heavy intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) as part of the country's nuclear arsenal until at least 2026, the commander of Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) said Friday."The extension of the service life of the systems equipped with RS-20V [SS-18 Satan] missiles will allow us to keep these most powerful missiles in the world until 2026," Lt. Gen. Sergei Karakayev said.Introduced almost 33 years ago, the missile is routinely tested and has proved to be a very reliable weapon."At this point, there are no serious technical restrictions to continue extending the missile's service life," the general said. The missile is armed with a warhead containing 10 multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles (MIRVs) with a yield of 550 to 750 kilotons each. It has a maximum range of 11,000 km (6,800 miles) with a launch mass of over 210 tons and a payload of 8.8 tons.According to publicly available sources, Russia currently has 88 SS-18 missile silo launchers, most of them deployed at the Dombarovsky missile base in the Orenburg Region.Read the full story here.

  • Judge Hints He May Rule Against Health Law.A federal judge asserted on Thursday that it would be “a giant leap” for the Supreme Court to accept the Obama administration’s defense of a central provision of the new health care law, suggesting he may become the second judge to strike it down as unconstitutional. In a three-hour hearing, the judge, Roger Vinson of Federal District Court, said the law’s requirement that most Americans obtain insurance, a provision that takes effect in 2014, would constitute “a giant expansion” of the court’s traditional application of the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. People have always exercised the freedom to choose whether to buy or not buy a commercial product,” the judge said, noting that he had been uninsured and paid out of pocket when his first son was born.If the government is allowed such power, said David B. Rivkin Jr., who represented the state officials, the health law “would leave more constitutional devastation in its wake than any statute in our history.”Blaine H. Winship, special counsel to Florida’s attorney general, Bill McCollum, argued Thursday that the expansion amounted to a coercive “bait and switch.” He said states had joined the Medicaid program, enticed by its limited initial scope and generous federal payments, only to watch helplessly as Washington expanded eligibility and the states’ obligations.Hmmm...Like a Hydra they should shop of the heads of this monstrocity of a bill.Read the full story here.

  • HT:WZ."The War On Christmas"Unreal: Feds Force Small-Town Oklahoma Bank to Take Down Crosses and “Merry Christmas” Buttons so People Wouldn’t Be Offended.PERKINS, Okla. — A small-town bank in Oklahoma said the Federal Reserve won’t let it keep religious signs and symbols on display.Federal Reserve examiners come every four years to make sure banks are complying with a long list of regulations. The examiners came to Perkins last week. And the team from Kansas City deemed a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the teller’s counter and buttons that say “Merry Christmas, God With Us.” were inappropriate. The Bible verse of the day on the bank’s Internet site also had to be taken down.“I don’t think there should be a problem with them displaying whatever religious symbols they want to display,” said Amy Weierman, a Perkins resident.Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, “…the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication … express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion.”The feds interpret that to mean, for example, a Jew or Muslin or atheist may be offended and believe they may be discriminated against at this bank. It is an appearance of discrimination. But customers Eyewitness News 5 talked to said they aren’t buying it.“This is just ridiculous,” said bank customer Jim Nyles. “This whole thing is just ridiculous. We all have regulatory bodies that govern us. But this is too much.”Hmmm...Haven't people heard what the Pope just said"Christians are the most persecuted".Read the full story here.

  • HT:IslamInEurope.Sweden: Intelligence report counts 200 violent Islamic extremists, missed bomber. Some 200 possibly violent Islamic extremists live in Sweden, according to an intelligence report released Wednesday after the country's first-ever suicide bombing narrowly missed Christmas shoppers."The group of active members ... consists of just under 200 individuals," the Saepo intelligence agency said in its 126-page report, based on data from 2009 and scheduled to be published before the weekend's attack in central Stockholm.Saturday's bomber, named as Taymour Abdelwahab, a Swedish national who became an outspoken supporter of violent jihad while living in Britain, did not figure among the 200 people on Saepo's radar, and it remained unclear if any possible accomplices were on the list. While the so-called radicalisation process generally happens among men aged 15 to 30, the average age in the group is 36, the report showed.Rembe explained that while members of other violent, radical groups, like rightwing extremists, tended to drop out when they started families, the radical Islamists "don't leave when they get older," making prevention work at an early age vital. The report showed "most of them were born or grew up in Sweden, and it is here that they come into contact with violence-promoting ideologies and groups."Some "80 percent of the 200 can be linked to each other," Rembe told a press conference, adding however that the connection tended to be loose, through friendship and acquaintances, and not as part of one big network.Around 30 out of the 200 have in recent years traveled abroad to take part in violent combat or terrorist training camps, she said.Hmmm...About 15 % went to take part in terrorist training camps, just imagine these percentages aplied to US Muslims?Read the full story here.

  • Military Jury: Prison, Dismissal for Army Birther. An Army doctor who disobeyed orders to deploy to Afghanistan because he questioned President Barack Obama's eligibility to be commander in chief was sentenced by a jury Thursday to six months in a military prison and dismissal from the Army. The military jury spent nearly five hours deliberating punishment for Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin on Thursday after three days of court martial proceedings at Fort Meade, outside Baltimore.Lakin was convicted of disobeying orders - he had pleaded guilty to that count - and missing a flight that would have gotten him to his eventual deployment. An Army commander, Maj. Gen. Karl Horst, still has to approve the sentence returned by the jury and has the option to reduce it. Lakin could then appeal. He was to begin serving his sentence immediately. But Lakin's defense attorney, Neal Puckett, asked the jury to be lenient, calling Lakin's case unique. He described the 17-year veteran and Greeley, Colo. man as giving, compassionate and patriotic but also naive in trusting the poor advice of a previous civilian lawyer. He called Lakin the "victim of an obsession," referring to questions about Obama's eligibility, and said he made "one bad decision on one day of his career."Officials in Hawaii say they have seen and verified Obama's original 1961 birth certificate, which is on record with that state. But birthers have not been satisfied with that assurance or the "Certification of Live Birth" Obama has released. The certification is a digital document that is a record of a person's birth in the state, but the certificate does not list the name of the hospital where Obama's mother gave birth or the physician who delivered him.Puckett asked the jury to consider Lakin's wife and three children at Christmas and said he should be allowed to stay in the Army because of his value as a doctor.Hmmmm......"The certification is a digital document that is a record of a person's birth in the state".Read the full story here.Related : This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro.Name: Barry Soetoro

  • 'Change Has Come to the Senate’ After Collapse of Massive Spending Bill, Republican Declares."We just saw something extraordinary on the floor of the United States Senate," Sen. John McCain said Thursday night after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) – lacking enough votes – gave up on a trillion-dollar, 1,924-page omnibus spending bill that included $8 billion in pork barrel spending.Kirk said the defeat of the trillion-dollar-plus legislation – 12 spending bills rolled into one -- is a significant turning point when it comes to fiscal restraint.“All of the GOP senators just signed a letter to the leadership this morning saying that we should not move forward with this as representatives of the new mandate,” Kirk said. “And it seems change has come to the Senate tonight with the death of this $1.1 trillion plan.”McCain agreed, “I have no doubt.”

  • HT:investigativeproject.Accused Bomb Plotter's Mosque Tied to Radical Group. The mosque attended by accused Baltimore bomb plotter Antonio Martinez is part of a network of mosques run by the radical group Jama'at al-Muslimeen that questions the existence of the Holocaust, supports the release of convicted terrorists and wants the United States to stop "interfering" in Muslim countries, Maryland corporate records show.Martinez, who was arrested Dec. 8 and charged with plotting to blow up an Army recruiting center in Catonsville, Md., attended the Al-Madina mosque in Baltimore, friends and associates told The Baltimore Sun.That mosque, Maryland records show, is owned by the All Farooq Foundation of Catonsville. The foundation's incorporation papers, which were filed with the state of Maryland on Feb. 3, 2009, say that all leaders of the foundation "must have at least one year of active membership in the Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen community."State records show that the Masjid Jama'at al-Muslimeen's address – 4624 York Rd. in Baltimore – is the same as the group Jama'at al-Muslimeen, which is run by Kaukab Siddique, an assistant professor of English at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and a longtime opponent of Israel and U.S. policies in Muslim nations.Martinez, the accused bomb plotter also known as Muhammad Hussein, echoed many of these beliefs, court documents show. According to confidential witnesses cited in the federal complaint, Martinez spoke often his desire to commit jihad, not just against U.S. forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan but in the United States as well."I wanna actually be Shaheed [martyr]) .... Like actually die for the cause of Allah," Martinez told one witness, the criminal complaint shows.Hmmm....I think the new congress has a mountain of work ahead of them.Read the full story here.

  • Lukashenko to the opposition: "You will not get the country.".It is clear that the December 19 presidential election will not change anything in Belarus. Although the opposition candidates were given an opportunity to make television addresses to the people, the authorities still have tight control over polling stations, absentee voting and other parts of the election system. Their victory is assured.A voter rally organized by the opposition is planned for the evening of December 19 to contest Lukashenko's essentially inevitable victory. But the powers-that-be will stop at nothing to keep the rally from happening. He said in an address to parliament, "No matter where you meet and what you do, you will not get the country. We will not let you tear it apart, because we have paid a high price for it ... Those who are dreaming of a revolution should calm down: we reached our limit on revolutions last century."Readers who are unfamiliar with politics in Belarus might hear this as intimidation, but this is just Lukashenko's usual style. By referring to the opposition as "you," he creates an image of the opposition as faceless enemies against which any and all means are justified. The older generation will tell you that similar veiled phrases ("their mores," "some circles") were used to refer to foreign opponents during the Soviet era.Hmmmm....Lukashenko the last Eastern European dictator?Read the full story here.

  • HT:NorthEastIntelligence. The Arson Intifada of 2010.An article by Gil Ronan in Arutz Sheva verified what we suggested as the cause of the massive fire in Israel: “arson by Arabs.” According to Kalman Libeskind, a reporter for Ma’ariv Hebrew Daily, there were no less than eighteen-(18) separate acts of arson last month that took place in the Forest of Peace, causing massive amounts of destruction and death. Yet, the media was reportedly complicit at the request of Israeli officials in keeping the entire series of incidents quiet to avoid the “copycat phenomenon.”During my career as an investigator, I’ve completed courses in criminal behavioral analysis that directly addressed the copycat syndrome and understand this logic in the criminal mindset. In my professional analysis, however, the environment in which such acts are occurring and the motivation behind the acts must be considered much differently than the conventional models applied to this type of criminal behavior. These specific acts and actors supersede all aspects of criminal behavior and the normal motivation that drives criminals and copycats. The actors see themselves as soldiers and their actions as acts of war.Read the full story here.

  • House Republicans Considering Adopting Rule Requiring Lawmakers to Provide Constitutional Authority For Every Bill.(The Hill)- Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah), the head of the House Rules Working Group, on Thursday said the GOP transition team will recommend the adoption of a rule requiring lawmakers to provide constitutional authority for every bill.“The Constitution is not that long. The operating manual for a Toyota Camry is more than five times longer, so it should not be that difficult,” Bishop said.GOP leaders intended to send out a memo later Thursday providing guidance to members of the 112th Congress on how to deal with the new requirement, and suggest “resources they can go to to assist,” said Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), the chairman of the transition team.“The Constitution will suddenly become en vogue again” in the next House, Bishop said.Hmmmm....Now that's a living constitution.Read the full story here.

  • HT:CompassDirect.Life on Hold for Egyptian Christian Arrested for his Faith. An Egyptian who left Islam to become a Christian and consequently lost his wife, children and business is waiting to see if the government will now take away his freedom for “defaming” Islam.Ashraf Thabet, 45, is charged with defaming a revealed religion, Article 98f of the Egyptian Penal Code. The charges stem from Thabet’s six-year search for spiritual meaning that eventually led him to become a Christian. During his search, he shared his doubts about Islam and told others what he was learning about Jesus Christ.Local religious authorities, incensed at Thabet’s ideas, notified Egypt’s State Security Intelligence service (SSI), which arrested and charged him with defamation. If found guilty, Thabet would face up to five years in jail. But because prosecutors have made no move to try the case, Thabet lives in limbo and is subject to a regular barrage of death threats from people in his community in Port Said in northeast Egypt.“I don’t know what is going to happen in the future,” Thabet said. “They’re making life hard for me. • HT:BigPeace.Islamist Radicals Hold Convention Tomorrow; Obama's ‘Special Envoy’ to Attend. One of the nation’s leading Islamist political organizations hosts its annual convention this weekend, opting to showcase a slew of radicals and terror apologists on its program. The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) is calling this Saturday’s conference at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, “The Struggle for America’s Conscience.”Among the invited speakers is a leader of a Virginia mosque whom law enforcement officials consider to be “associated with Islamic extremists,” a director of a group founded by the Muslim Brotherhood with a history of radical statements, and MPAC officials with their own record of undermining law enforcement counter-terror efforts. In addition, a White House aide responsible for outreach to the Muslim world is scheduled to appear. But even he has a record of criticizing American terrorism prosecutions and policies. That’s on top of the rhetoric put forth by the host group MPAC, which rails against law enforcement terrorism investigations and has argued that the U.S. is wrong to designate Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.Convention topics include “Islamophobia, U.S.-Muslim world relations, terrorism, violent extremism, civil rights, homeland security, bigotry, civic engagement, war, reform.” It would be refreshing if that leads to a frank assessment of what is driving a spike in homegrown terrorist plots during the past two years, including recent arrests in Portland, Baltimore and Virginia.Joining al-Marayati will be Rashad Hussain and Reem Salahi, who each have their own records of demonizing U.S. counterterrorism efforts.Prior to becoming President Obama’s Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Hussain frequently criticized law enforcement efforts to combat radical Islam. During a 2004 talk before the Muslim Students Association (MSA), Hussain cast the terror-support indictment of Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian as an example of politically-motivated cases. At the time, Al-Arian was a year away from trial for providing material support to a terrorist organization. After initially denying that he made the comments, Hussain had to backtrack after a tape of the event surfaced. “The judicial process has now concluded, and I have full faith in its outcome,” he said in a subsequent statement.Al-Arian pled guilty to “conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a Specially Designated Terrorist.”We have previously detailed how MPAC’s veneer of moderation is undermined by its routine defense of designated terrorist organizations and its opposition to U.S. counterterrorism measures. The 2010 convention program offers little indication anything has changed.Read the full story here.

  • Erdogan rejected to answer questions on Armenian Genocide.Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan was asked at joint news conference with president of Poland Donald Tusk, who pays official visit to Turkey, if the senior diplomats have discussed issues related to massacre of Armenians (without using Genocide) and Turkey’s membership to European Union.According to Turkish “Son Dakika” news web site, Erdogan said the conditions raised for the EU membership don’t includes anything about Armenian massacres, hence there can’t be answer to a thing that doesn’t exist. Panorama.am recalls that Turkey has traditionally rejected the mass killings of 1,5 million Armenians carried out early in the 20th century and took the criticism of the West painfully. The Armenian Genocide has been recognized by lots of states. It was first recognized by Uruguay in 1965. Later Russia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, Canada, Venezuela, Argentina and the US 42 states did the same. The Armenian Genocide has been recognized also by Vatican, the Council of Europe, the World Council of Churches.Hmmmm...."Something that doesn't exist", Perhaps like your buddy Ahmadinejad doesn't recognises the Jewish holocaust?Read the full story here.

  • Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf Army 'May Intervene Over Pakistan's Decline'.Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf has warned the army may have to intervene again in politics, if the country continues to decline. He added Pakistan may be forced to take matters into their own hands - which could include working with the Taliban - if it continues to feel alienated by the rest of the world."There is no bar against me going back to Pakistan. But the conditions have to be right," he said. The former general is building his own political party with the intention of returning to Pakistan to take on the current government in a bid for power. He was most concerned over the threat he sees coming from the developing relationship between America, India and Afghanistan."They are creating an anti-Pakistan Afghanistan and America has to realise that," he said.Pakistan, he said, is in a terrible state - with its economy in crisis, high unemployment, mass discontent - and this as well as having terrorists on its soil.Mr Musharraf said his return and his attempt to become an elected politician would this time "give me the legitimacy which maybe last time I didn't have because, in the eyes of the world, I was a dictator. The man who first took power in a bloodless coup also said the army may still have to play a role in determining the future leadership."You have to remember, in Pakistan the armed forces play a very big and important role," he said."It is strong and well-administered and wherever there is turmoil, the people run to the army."Is democracy more important than the state?" he asked."This is the question that arises. And the army is in between. The Army is the saviour. The Army can save the state. It cannot save democracy."

  • Former FBI agent to be top Republican on House Intelligence.Rep. Mike Rogers, a former FBI agent and vocal critic of the Obama administration's dealing with terrorists, will head the House Intelligence Committee when Republicans take control of the House next year.Rogers is not one to mince words. • The escape from Holland. After hiding his skullcap and being harassed, son of Amsterdam's chief rabbi flees to Israel. Senior Dutch politician: Jews with conscience should leave.Benzion Evers believes Amsterdam is not a safe place for Jews. The son of the Dutch capital's chief rabbi says he is planning on leaving the country next year together with his wife and infant son.In spite of being a popular vacation destination for Israeli travelers, and even though the city boasts a warm Jewish community of thousands, 22 year old Evers, son of Raphael, Amsterdam's chief rabbi has announced that the country is becoming less safe for Jews.He also told of how recently, he is careful never to leave the house wearing his fur hat and hides his skullcap under a baseball cap when going through neighborhoods with high concentrations of Moroccan and Turkish immigrants. The interview he gave to the newspaper was mentioned in many Dutch publications and one newspaper even declared that "history was repeating itself". Bolkestein admitted to being pessimistic with regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which, in his opinion, is fanning the flames of anti-Semitism in his country. "Holland has Arab television channels that promote anti-Semitism," he noted."I don't hang any hopes on the various suggestions that are raised on occasion to battle the incitement against Jews. I see no quick fix on the horizon; anti-Semitism will continue to exist, because the Moroccan and Turkish youngsters don't care about efforts for reconciliation." Hmmm.....It was about time someone like Wilders stood up against this hatred.Read the full story here.

  • HT:Wired.Court Rebuffs Obama on Warrantless Cell-Site Tracking.A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected the Obama administration’s contention that the government is never required to get a court warrant to obtain cell-site information that mobile-phone carriers retain on their customers. The decision by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is one in a string of court decisions boosting Americans’ privacy (.pdf) in the digital age — rulings the government fought against. The most significant and recent decision came Tuesday, when a different federal appeals court said for the first time the government must obtain a court warrant for an internet service provider to grant the authorities access to a suspect’s e-mail.The Obama administration urged the appellate court to reconsider its position, an offer the court declined Wednesday without commenting on the merits. The administration has also asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to reverse its August ruling requiring court warrants to affix GPS devices to vehicles to track their every move. • Democracies Urged to Vote Against U.N. Plan to Hold Racism Event in NYC.The United Nations General Assembly will vote Monday on whether to hold a controversial anti-racism event in New York next September, when America will mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. This time, Canada has again been first to announce it would boycott Durban III.Two days after the Nov. 23 U.N. committee vote, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said that Canada had “lost faith” in the Durban process: “Canada is clearly committed to the fight against racism, but the Durban process commemorates an agenda that actually promotes racism rather than combats it.”Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, incoming chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is among those urging the administration to make its position clear now. Also critical of the Durban III plans is Joseph A. Klein, author of books including Lethal Engagement: Barack Hussein Obama, the United Nations and Radical Islam and Global Deception: The U.N.’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom.“The United States and other democracies should follow Canada’s example and announce immediately that we will boycott the conference next September,” he told CNSNews Thursday.Klein said the U.S. should also subtract from its funding towards the U.N. budget for next year an amount “in proportion to what would be our share of the U.N.’s expenditures on the planning and running of Durban III.”According to U.N. documents next September’s events will require an estimated $231,800 for costs including six-language interpretation services, documentation, conference support, travel costs for participating experts, media coverage, outreach, exhibits and promotional activities.Hmmmm....."The U.N.’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom."Read the full story here.

In Iraq, meanwhile, gains are tentative and in danger of unraveling.Without much notice or debate, the Obama administration has greatly expanded the outsourcing of key parts of the U.S.-led counterinsurgency wars in the Middle East and Africa, and as a result, for its secretive air war and special operations missions around the world, the U.S. has become increasingly reliant on a new breed of specialized companies that are virtually unknown to the American public, yet carry out vital U.S. missions abroad.Hmmmmm.....Transparacy and Obama?Hahahahaha!Read the full story here.

  • Sudan: Women are punished with '600,000' lashes a year.Forty thousand women in Sudan are subject to police whippings for moral transgressions each year, a figure that came to light after a video was circulated on the Internet which showed the public thrashing of a Khartoum woman.Sudanese feminist and political figure Mariam al-Sadiq al-Madi brought the issue to the attention of authorities, the Sudanese daily al-Sharq al-Awsat reported. The drama of the physical punishments against women in Sudan is much more serious than previously believed," al-Madi said. She said that each year around 600,000 lashes are dealt to women in Sudan."The situation was worsened by a 1991 law that increased violence against them," she added. The so-called 'law 152' allows for women to be whipped for an array of 'moral' crimes including wearing trousers as in the case of a journalist, Lubna Ahmad Hussein, who was found guilty of this 'crime' last year.According to lawyer Nabil Adib, "a vast array of crimes allows for whippings," she said, citing the excessive use of alcohol and gambling to washing one's car in an incorrect location as crimes punishable by flogging.

  • Muslim ‘Radicalization’ Is Focus of Planned Inquiry. The Republican who will head the House committee that oversees domestic security is planning to open a Congressional inquiry into what he calls “the radicalization” of the Muslim community when his party takes over the House next year.Representative Peter T. King of New York, who will become the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said he was responding to what he has described as frequent concerns raised by law enforcement officials that Muslim leaders have been uncooperative in terror investigations. “When I meet with law enforcement, they are constantly telling me how little cooperation they get from Muslim leaders,” Mr. King said.Told of Mr. King’s plan, Muslim leaders expressed strong opposition, describing the move as a prejudiced act that was akin to racial profiling and that would unfairly cast suspicion on an entire group.Mr. King also opposed the plan to build an Islamic center near ground zero, urging the developers of the project to meet with 9/11 families to identify a more appropriate location for the center.Hmmm....Mr King should read up on Al-taqiyya.Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigPeace. The Islamists Battle Plan. After centuries of warfare in which secrecy and espionage often made the difference between winning and losing, we should be grateful that our current enemy has published–and then repeatedly called attention to–his battle plan. The only problem? Our senior leadership refuses to read it.When Coughlin speaks about Islam, he often puts the word moderate in quotes. That’s because even those considered moderate, such as Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf–spiritual leader of the “Ground Zero” mosque–believe in the primacy of shariah law. Rauf himself wrote that since “Shariah is understood as a law with God at its center, it is not possible in principle to limit the Shariah to some aspects of human life and leave out others.”Coughlin noted that some of our Arab allies, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, have constitutions based on Islamic law. And pointing to The Quranic Concept of War, by Pakistani Gen. S. K. Malik, Coughlin said the enemy’s threat doctrine is based on Islamic law, and there is no way to defeat an enemy without explicitly understanding its threat doctrine.John Guandolo, vice president of strategic planning and execution for SEG, delved more into the concept of taqiya, pointing out the infiltration into major sectors of local and federal governments by the umbrella Islamist network, the Muslim Brotherhood.“Deception is not a tactic for these guys, it’s the whole game,” Guandolo said.He went on to demonstrate this by showing a photo of the Brotherhood’s Sheikh Kifah Mustapha among the graduates of a recent FBI Citizens’ Academy, which takes its participants inside the FBI’s investigation and community relations processes. He showed a video of Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born top terrorist recruiter for al-Qaeda now based in Yemen, leading a prayer service on Capitol Hill. Guandolo pointed out that Abdurahman Alamoudi–who in 2004 pled guilty to illegal financial transactions with the Libyan government and to participating in a plot to assassinate Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah–was in charge of selecting Muslim chaplains for the U.S. military. These are just a few of many examples, he said.“They’re actually inside our decision making group,” Guandolo said, adding that decades of Soviet subversion in the U.S. laid the groundwork for radical Islam’s taqiya campaign.Hmmm...."The Ennemy within"?Read the full story here.

  • Rising Oil Prices Fuels Debate Over Offshore Drilling. As oil prices rose above $88 a barrel Friday, a new high for this year, energy analysts predicted that oil could rise to $120 a barrel before the end of 2012, adding more fuel to the debate over offshore drilling. It's hard to say exactly what that would mean for motorists buying gasoline since the price of gas depends upon a number of different variables, including the region, retail prices and local and state taxes, AAA told FoxNews.com.The rise in oil comes on the same week that the Obama administration announced it will not allow offshore drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico or off the Atlantic coast for at least seven more years because of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion in April that killed 11 workers and unleashed about 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf.Kevin Book, managing director of Clearview Energy Partners, told FoxNews.com that his firm sees oil rising to $107 a barrel in 2013 "if economic growth follows its current trajectory."Book explained that his firm's forecast implies that there is substantial non-OPEC slow downs at the same time as there is significant demand growing in emerging economies in Asia and other places."What it does is draw inventory down and lowers capacity in the system," he said. "It also pulls more OPEC oil into circulation.""We're going to use OPEC's oil," he said. "The problem isn't doing business with OPEC. The problem is doing business in a world where OPEC is becoming less relevant.""The true value of OPEC from a price stability standing to its members is predicated on the idea it has to do what it has to do or Saudi Arabia will flood the market with cheap oil," he said.Hmmm....Or soon what a nuclear Iran says to do!Dream on!Read the full idiocy story here.

"We need the public's help.''The photos and videos were found at Franklin's home and garage during a three-day search after his July arrest."Now that we know who he is and what type of activity he is involved in with women, we are very concerned for everyone in these photographs,'' Dennis Kilcoyne, a detective, said.Hmmmm....No really Sherlock?Read the full story here.

  • And now for something completely different.Amelia Earhart's mystery may have been solved - paper.Researchers have found evidence that could shed light on the fate of Amelia Earhart, the pioneering pilot who vanished 73 years ago while attempting to circumnavigate the world, The Daily Telegraph said. The British newspaper said on Tuesday that an expedition launched by The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) had searched an area "on the uninhabited island of Nikumaroro, a former British colony that is today part of the republic of Kiribati."The researchers found "a human bone, a broken pocket knife of the same brand that was listed in an inventory of Earhart's aircraft," and the remains of other objects dated back to the1930s, which may have belonged to Earhart."The bone is being tested at the University of Oklahoma's Molecular Anthropology Laboratories to see if they contain human DNA," The Daily Telegraph quoted Ric Gillespie, executive director of the group, as saying. "If human DNA is extracted, it will be sequenced to Earhart's DNA."According to the most widely accepted explanation for the disappearance of Earhart's Lockheed Model 10E Special "Electra" in July 1937, her plane simply ran out of fuel and crashed into the Pacific Ocean on route to Howland Island. However, TIGHAR believes that Earhart's plane had sufficient fuel to reach Nikumaroro, and Earhart and her copilot Fred Noonan "could have survived on the island for a time, but eventually succumbed to injury or infection, food poisoning or thirst."Read the full story here.More on Amelia Earhart here.

  • HT:IsraelMatzav.Who are Israel's 'indigenous peoples'?President Obama made news a few moments ago by announcing that the United States would support the UN Declaration on the Rights of 'Indigenous Peoples.' But who are the 'indigenous peoples' of Israel? Well, according to the UN it's probably the 'Palestinians.'When the declaration was adopted in 2007, four countries voted against: Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. The Declaration goes on to provide that the UN’s member states are expected to “provide redress for past transgressions through effective mechanisms, which may include restitution, developed in conjunction with indigenous peoples, with respect to their cultural, intellectual, religious and spiritual property that has been taken without their free, prior and informed consent or in violation of their laws, traditions and customs”.The Bush administration likely opposed the declaration because of potential claims by Indian tribes Native Americans, which is also why Canada was opposed. Australia and New Zealand likely opposed it because of fear of claims by Aboriginal tribes. And Israel's government under Ehud K. Olmert likely voted in favor because the Jews are Israel's indigenous people anyway and 'peace' was at hand. But what happens if the world decides that the 'Palestinians' are Israel's 'indigenous people'? And what if they do it with the Obama administration's support? And what if there is no peace? • WASHINGTON DIARY: We hypocritical Muslims —Dr Manzur Ejaz.Muslims have convinced themselves that they are super-humans. They believe that the world should be very attentive to the Muslims’ religious and cultural sensitivities while they can persecute any minority. On an international level, people from every religion exchange greeting cards to commemorate different occasions. We all know that most of these cards are meant for the wastebasket. What if a Christian or Jew saw a Muslim salesperson throwing his card with Jesus or Moses’ name on it and called the police to register a case of blasphemy against him/her and the police arrested the violator? Most western readers would laugh out loud at this unlikely scenario but it is not a laughing matter for a physician from Hyderabad, Pakistan, who, unwittingly, threw a Muslim’s visiting card in the trash basket. He apologised to the offended party and yet the police arrested him under pressure from religious fanatics.Presently, the religious parties are using the Blasphemy Law for a proxy war. The support for religious causes has been going down because of terrorist acts by the Taliban and other jihadi groups. Therefore, the campaign for the preservation of the Blasphemy Law is being deployed to regain lost ground and to keep their monopoly over the ideological discourse. Actually, this is a smokescreen to defend the Taliban and other jihadis and provide the ideological basis for the continuation of terrorism. The mainstream parties are either spineless or secretly in agreement with the mullahs. Different levels of administration, security agencies and even some courts are not enlightened enough to understand the negative impact of such discriminatory practices. While having laws like blasphemy and indulging in the persecution of poor minorities, Pakistan is never going to be a respectable country in the world community. Which foreign business will invest in Pakistan if they fear that the mistake of throwing away a business card can cost them their lives? However, the religious monopoly over the ideological discourse and madness is going to dominate the country until a counter-movement takes shape.Hmmm....Which Administration would be stupid enough to give tens of Billions of Dollars to Pakistan?Read the full story here.

It seems we can't have anything that means Christmas. We're allowed to have some tinsel but that's it.'When we send cards they have to say season's greetings or best wishes. They must not be linked directly to Christmas.'When we asked we were told it is because we must not upset Moslems.'Mrs Banks added: ' We have been instructed that we can't say anything about Christmas and we certainly can't have a Christmas tree.' I think the policy is offensive to Moslems as well as to us. No reasonable person can object to Christians celebrating Christmas. But we are not supposed to show any sign of Christianity at all.'The spokesman said: 'The Red Cross is trying to be inclusive and we recognise there are lots of people who want to buy Christmas cards which they know will benefit us.'The charity's umbrella body, the Swiss-based International Red Cross, has also had politically-correct doubts about its famous symbol. • Pope calls Christians the most persecuted.Pope Benedict XVI singled out Christians as the religious group that suffers from the most persecution on Thursday, denouncing lack of freedom of worship as an "intolerable" threat to world security. The message reflected a pressing concern by Benedict in recent months for the plight of Christian minorities in parts of the world, especially in the Middle East."At present, Christians are the religious group which suffers most from persecution on account of its faith," the pontiff asserted, and cited Christian communities suffering from violence and intolerance particularly in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Holy Land."This situation is intolerable, since it represents an insult to God and to human dignity" as well as "a threat to security and peace," Benedict wrote in one of the 17-page-long message's strongest passages. He appealed to authorities to "act promptly to end every injustice" against Christians.Benedict didn't cite countries, but in past years church officials have lamented that Christians — most of them migrant workers — are forbidden to worship in Saudi Arabia. He blasted what he called "more sophisticated forms of hostility to religion, which, in Western countries, occasionally find expression in a denial of history and the rejection of religious symbols which reflect the identity and the culture of the majority of its citizens.A.k.a. "The War on Christmas'"Hmmm...In numbers the Christians are perhaps the largest group ,but lets not forget the Hindus and last but probaly most severely persecuted the Jews.Still it seems it will take a lot more then 17 pages to let this American President speak up for the Christian cause!Read the full story here.

  • Turkey to build ‘national, original’ fighter aircraft.Turkey's top defense procurement committee decided late Wednesday that Ankara would develop and manufacture its next air-to-air fighter aircraft, either by itself or in cooperation with another country, Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül said.Gönül also said Turkey has rejected an offer by the Eurofighter consortium for the sale of Eurofighter Typhoon fighters. "The Eurofighter is off Turkey's agenda," he said. The minister said Turkey may cooperate with South Korea, but implied that this is a small possibility. "We can manufacture the new fighter aircraft with them, we don't rule this out. But the decision we have taken now calls for the production of a totally national and original aircraft," he said.Minister Gönül said Turkey's newly designed fighter aircraft "would be a next-generation type, would replace the [U.S.-made] F-4Es and would function well with the F-16 and the F-35." He therefore confirmed that the new aircraft mostly would be meant for air-to-air fighting.Separately, Turkish and South Korean officials earlier have said that Turkey, South Korea and Indonesia jointly may develop the South Korean-led KF-X fighter aircraft. But Turkey is now stepping back from this option. "What we need is a true and equal partnership for the development of a fighter".Hmmm....Let me guess "equal partnership" Like Islamic Iran kind of partnership?Read the full story here.

  • Congress: No to Palestinian statehood declaration.House of Representatives unanimously decides to remind Obama it supports Israel, passes motion saying US will not recognize Palestinian state declared without Israel's approval, veto UN resolution to this effect if it is brought forth. The House of Representatives on Thursday passed a motion opposing a move being promoted by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, for recognition of a state within the 1967 borders without Israel's agreement. The decision, which was reached by general consensus rather than a vote among house members, states that the US would not recognize a unilaterally declared Palestinian state and would veto any resolution for recognition brought forward in the UN Security Council without an agreement between the two sides.Meanwhile, US special envoy George Mitchell has proposed six weeks of "parallel" negotiations with Israeli and Palestinians negotiators, a Palestinian official said on Wednesday.Mitchell, who met Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas on Tuesday, suggested the US administration hold "parallel talks with the Palestinian and Israeli sides separately, and not negotiations," he told AFP, on condition of anonymity.Hmmm.....I wonder what was in Obama's letter Biden gave to the Saudi King?Read the full story here.

  • Danny Ayalon : 'Include Jewish refugees from Arab lands in talks'.Foreign Ministry pushing to include Jews who fled from Arab countries in core issue discussion with the US about refugees. With the Palestinian refugee issue one of the core issues expected to be at the center of the US's new diplomatic push, the foreign ministry is actively engaged in an effort to ensure that Jewish refuges who fled Arab lands are not forgotten.Deputy Foreign Ministry Danny Ayalon, who is leading the push to include Jewish refugees in the core issue discussion with the US about refugees, said "it is vitally important to return this issue to the international agenda. It is a matter of justice, closure and righting a wrong."Ayalon, whose father came to Israel after being forced out of Algeria, said this issue has "a practical as well as a moral aspect. The demands from the two sides are asymmetrical, the Palestinians talk of rights and justice [for Palestinian refugees], yet the rights and justice of the Jewish refugees from Arab lands have been ignored and suppressed for too long. ""We are going to make an effort now to bring to the forefront the plight of the Jews from the Arab countries,” he said. The foreign ministry, in an effort to place this issue high on the international agenda, has appointed an official to coordinate the matter. He has met over the last few weeks with historical and legal experts, and is preparing a detailed position paper that will be entered into the discussion on the refugee issue.“We will make sure that this will be an important and integral part of the negotiations for a final settlement," Ayalon said. • HT:CreepingSharia.College that bowed to CAIR, won’t bow to pressure to reinstate Islam course.Lane Community College has been flooded by mostly out-of-state phone calls and e-mails since its decision to cancel a noncredit course on Islam, but LCC officials say they have no intention of reinstating the class. However, the instructor now has the backing of a conservative legal group that has sent LCC a letter demanding that it reinstate the class or face a federal lawsuit claiming breach of contract and violation of free speech rights. The letter was sent by the American Center for Law & Justice, a group founded by televangelist Pat Robertson that has championed conservative causes.LCC said it won’t bow to the pressure and maintains that its decision to cancel the class was not influenced by outside groups.“We really take our responsibility for instruction and creating the learning environment seriously, and that responsibility resides within Lane Community College and it’s not based on outside individuals or entities telling us what to do,” said Sonya Christian, LCC’s vice president for academic and student affairs.Instead of reinstating the class, the college plans to add a credit course on Islam in spring term taught by UO religious studies professor Frederick Colby, who specializes in early Islamic thought and popular Islam. Christian said LCC also is planning a series of public seminars on Islam during winter term that will be aimed at a general audience.Too bad Lane Community College didn’t have the to courage to take as strong a stance against the terror-linked Islamist group CAIR.Hmmm....I guess the legal suit will go ahead then, will be intresting to follow.Read the full story here.

  • HT:IslamTodayOregon.Related :Professor Frederick Colby The New Islam Teacher at LCC,Ex faculty advisor to the Muslim Students Association in Miami. Prof. Colby has a narrow area of study: the ascension and night journey of Muhammed. Now do not get me wrong, the ascension and night journey are important pieces of Islamic tradition, as is the death and resurrection of Jesus to Christians. To have a historically factual and accurate overview of Islam presented correctly, it should be done by someone who has studied Islam in a broad context, rather than one who's area of expertise is so small and specific. It is not just his particular studies which make him unqualified to teach this LCC class, there are some unsavory connections Prof. Colby has well. During his time teaching in Miami, the good professor was the faculty advisor to the Muslim Students Association between 2004 and 2008. In what capacity did Prof. Colby assist the MSA in Miami, and what was his roll exactly? The MSA is an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group who has as it's goal the destruction of the west through its "own miserable hand", and has consistently supported Hamas, Israeli genocide and jihad through the sword (9-29). Does Prof. Colby disavow the MSA, it's program of hatred and it's direct connection to the Muslim Brotherhood?Just as disturbing, Prof. Colby lists as a presonal reference Dr. Carl Ernst of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. If you do not know Dr. Ernst, he is of the same vein as John Esposito of Georgetown University, Karen Armstrong, Grover Norquist and Robert Crane. Islamic apologism is rampant at colleges and universities across the country, and with personal references such as Dr. Ernst, one needs to seriously ask why Prof. Colby would even be considered for tenure.Dr, Ernst, within the past few years has accepted a literary award from Egypt, Yes, he received the coveted Shaykh Muhammad Salih Bashrahil Prize for Outstanding Cultural Creativity, and he also recently shook the hand of Ahmadinejad while receiving another prize, the The Farabi International Award, named for a 10th-century Persian philosopher. The honor bestowed is for his Colby's book on Ruzbihan, a 12th century Sufi poet born in what is now Iran. Translated twice the book is widely used in university courses. Hmmmm....Did CAIR propose Prof Colby to the LCC?Read the full story here.

  • Failed asylum seeker who left girl, 12, to die after crash can stay in UK as deporting him would 'breach his human rights'.A failed asylum seeker who left a 12-year-old girl dying under the wheels of his car while banned from driving will be allowed to remain in the UK, judges ruled today.Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, 33, an Iraqi Kurd, was jailed for four months over the 2003 crash which cost Amy Houston her life. Her father, Paul Houston, 41, begged judges at a recent deportation hearing to bring 'my seven years of hell to an end' by sending Ibrahim back to Iraq.Last month he handed in a letter to judges, containing an impassioned plea asking for Ibrahim to be deported.Mr Houston, from Darwen, Lancashire, said he was 'frustrated and angry' at the decision.'I'm really angry. We should all be angry. It is a ridiculous state of affairs,' he said.'I'm battling away here on my own. This is a perversity of our society.'What are the judges saying here? They are saying it doesn't matter what you do when you come here, who you kill, what laws you break, as long as you have a child here you can stay?'You work hard, play by the rules, pay your taxes and this is how you get treated. What does that say about politicians, our leaders and the legal system? It's a joke.'They are obsessed with the rights of others from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. Where are my human rights?'This man is a criminal, do we have no say who we allow in this country?Ibrahim knocked down Amy near to the home of her mother, Joanne Cocker, from whom Mr Houston is divorced. He was already serving a nine-month driving ban for not having insurance or a licence. He ran off but later handed himself in to police.Ibrahim was jailed for four months after admitting driving while disqualified and failing to stop after an accident. The Regional Director of the UK Border Agency in the North West, Jo Liddy, said they Ibrahim should have been removed from the country.'We are extremely disappointed at the tribunal’s decision to allow Mr Ibrahim to remain in the UK,' she said.'He was convicted of committing an offence that led to the tragic death of a twelve year old child and it is our view that he should be removed. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of the victim.'Hmmm....One of these days they have to stop that PC idiocy and start doing the right thing.Read the full story here.

  • John Boehner's Crying: Is He Drinking Too Much?Incoming House Speaker John Boehner's recent interview on "60 Minutes" with Lesley Stahl, where he once again cried publicly, has created a minor controversy among pundits, with observers trying to figure out the cause of his unusual behavior. Is it depression? Or is Boehner simply in touch with his emotions? Does he wear his heart on his sleeve, or does he cry on a dime because he has a tender spot for all things American? While it's impossible to know, some are beginning to speculate that Boehner's penchant for turning on the waterworks might have some connection to his consumption of wine. Liberal MSNBC host Ed Shultz, half-jokingly, called Boehner a "cheap drunk" the other day, Capitol Hill aides of both parties are wondering, and there's even a web page devoted to it.So is drinking the issue -- and why might a person struggling with drinking be more prone to weeping in public?Sobriety certainly wasn't the issue with them. Bush 41 was known to drink only occasionally, always in moderation, and by the time Bush 43 became president he was a teetotaler. Their penchant for waterworks was so well known to them that father and son avoided eye contact at the younger Bush's inauguration. "We Bushes cry when we're happy, and when we're sad," the senior Bush said. Younger son Jeb Bush copped to being a crier, too, and seemed to blame it on the old man. "Bush men always cry," Jeb Bush said in 2002. "It's a little genetic problem I got from my dad."Most experts I talked to said that if a person exhibits strong emotional behavior over the span of a lifetime, there is little to be worried about. One might also argue that public crying could also be seen as positive sign that a man is in touch with his emotions and not afraid to show them. As Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf once said, "I don't trust a man who doesn't cry."Hmmm....I agree a man should be cautious of the guy who shows no emotions or phony emotions!Read the full story here.

  • HT:MichelleMalkin.Boston Tea Party: 237th anniversary. On December 16, 1773, the taxpayers of Boston had had enough. The Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum website recounts the story:On the cold evening of December 16, 1773, a large band of patriots, disguised as Mohawk Indians, burst from the South Meeting House with the spirit of freedom burning in their eyes. The patriots headed towards Griffin’s Wharf and the three ships. Quickly, quietly, and in an orderly manner, the Sons of Liberty boarded each of the tea ships. Once on board, the patriots went to work striking the chests with axes and hatchets. Thousands of spectators watched in silence. Only the sounds of ax blades splitting wood rang out from Boston Harbor. Once the crates were open, the patriots dumped the tea into the sea.The silence was broken only by the cry of “East Indian” as patriots caught Charles O’Conner filling the lining of his coat with tea. George Hewes removed O’Connor’s coat, threatened him with death if he revealed the identity of any man present, and sent him scurrying out of town. The patriots worked feverishly, fearing an attack by Admiral Montague at any moment. By nine o’clock p.m., the Sons of Liberty had emptied a total of 342 crates of tea into Boston Harbor. Fearing any connection to their treasonous deed, the patriots took off their shoes and shook them overboard. They swept the ships’ decks, and made each ship’s first mate attest that only the tea was damaged. When all was through, Lendall Pitts led the patriots from the wharf, tomahawks and axes resting on their shoulders. A fife played as they marched past the home where British Admiral Montague had been spying on their work. Montague yelled as they past, “Well boys, you have had a fine, pleasant evening for your Indian caper, haven’t you? But mind, you have got to pay the fiddler yet!”Montague’s words were to be an omen for the patriots. The party was indeed over for Boston.Hmmmm...History has a tendency of repeating itself.Read the full story here.
