  • HT:AmnonandJonathan. They want to burn Tivon as well !!!Lebanese Muslim Student - "We Should Burn The Jews Like Hitler Did".In addition to the Great Fire on Mt. Caramel, fires also started in Kiryat Tivon.Fire fighters and police, aided by volunteers from the local council and residents were able to overcome the fire and prevent a disaster. It is suspected that the fires are "man made".Parallel to the Great Fire frenzy on Mt. Caramel, a fire in a wadi near the streets of Gordon and Golomb in Kiryat Tivon, was lit on Friday at 13:15 or so. The fire threatened to spread to the National Park of "Beit Shearim" and there was also damage to the residents of adjacent streets. The residents were evacuated by the Municipal Council to the near by high school.A few hours later, at 21:00, another fire started in Kiryat Tivon. This time in Wadi under the 'Sharet' street. Volunteer-observer, noticed the fire and called the troops who put the fire out quickly.
Hmmm.....Damned that peace plan works good Mr President!Don't tell me...let me guess...you'll impose a peace plan with Turkish UN troops to enforce it?Read the full story here.

  • WikiLeaks Ready to Release Giant 'Insurance' File if Shut Down.Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder, has circulated across the internet an encrypted “poison pill” cache of uncensored documents suspected to include files on BP and Guantanamo Bay.One of the files identified this weekend by The Sunday Times — called the “insurance” file — has been downloaded from the WikiLeaks website by tens of thousands of supporters, from America to Australia.Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets. The military papers on Guantanamo Bay, yet to be published, have been supplied by Bradley Manning, Assange’s primary source until his arrest in May. Other documents that Assange is confirmed to possess include an aerial video of a U.S. airstrike in Afghanistan that killed civilians, BP files and Bank of America documents. One of the key files available for download — named insurance.aes256 — appears to be encrypted with a 256-digit key. Experts said last week it was virtually unbreakable. The U.S. Department of Defense says it is aware of the WikiLeaks insurance file, but has been unable to establish its contents. It has been available for download since July.Assange has warned he can divulge the classified documents in the insurance file and similar backups if he is detained or the WikiLeaks website is permanently removed from the internet. He has suggested the contents are unredacted, posing a possible security risk for coalition partners around the world.Assange warned: “We have over a long period of time distributed encrypted backups of material we have yet to release. All we have to do is release the password to that material, and it is instantly available.”Some of the contingency plans were revealed when the site re-emerged on Friday with a Swiss address, WikiLeaks.ch. The new name was provided by the Swiss Pirate party, which champions internet freedom. Assange has also set up contingency servers in Sweden.

  • Hamas Prime Minister Haniyeh: Allah is scourging the Israelis with fire. The fires ravaging northern Israel are God's expression of anger towards Israelis, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh told Reuters on Sunday. "These are plagues from God," said Haniyeh in a recorded Reuters video interview during Sunday prayers in Gaza. "Allah is punishing them [the Israelis] from a place they did not expect it."Source.

  • Please Turkey, put your foot down.First let me apologize for the behavior of my fellow countrymen and women. I apologize for our accepting your very generous hospitality and then abusing it with our total lack of respect for your moral values. Sadly our own culture has let slide its once high moral standards.I am of course talking about the dress of a large number of our tourists and a fair few of our immigrants. If you haven’t been to Europe then you might think that we walk around the streets half naked, that we do our shopping half naked and we eat at restaurants so. That is not in fact the case; we only do so when on holiday in a “foreign” country where it doesn’t really matter. Your fault? Well, you let us!In our village we have restaurants which range in style and quality from cheap and cheerful to what I suppose ought to be “posh.” Posh all but one thing, they allow half-dressed tourists to sit together with proper people. [I use the word “proper” advisedly.]I talked to the manager of one such restaurant about this and got no sensible explanation as to why they allow beachwear in his restaurant, the best I could glean from his answer was that he couldn’t afford to lose customers. Foolish man I think. I tried to tell him that a conservative sign at the entrance requiring appropriate dress may well deter a few tourists but would quite possibly attract a larger number; the restaurant would in fact be announcing that it is in class a little above the others around.Hmmmmm......I can imagine a Turkey with every one dressed like in Saudi Arabia, but then perhaps the author of this article and the tourists won't be there,a dark veil is indeed coming over Turkey.Read the full story here.

  • Tension grows between Calif. Muslims, FBI after informant infiltrates mosque.IRVINE, CALIF. - Before the sun rose, the informant donned a white Islamic robe. A tiny camera was sewn into a button, and a microphone was buried in a device attached to his keys."This is Farouk al-Aziz, code name Oracle," he said into the keys as he sat in his parked car in this quiet community south of Los Angeles. "It's November 13th, 4:30 a.m. And we're hot." The undercover FBI informant - a convicted forger named Craig Monteilh - then drove off for 5 a.m. prayers at the Islamic Center of Irvine, where he says he spied on dozens of worshipers in a quest for potential terrorists.Compounding the damage, Monteilh has gone public, revealing secret FBI methods and charging that his "handlers" trained him to entrap Muslims as he infiltrated their mosques, homes and businesses. He is now suing the FBI.Officials declined to comment on specific details of Monteilh's tale but confirm that he was a paid FBI informant. Court records and interviews corroborate not only that Monteilh worked for the FBI - he says he made $177,000, tax-free, in 15 months - but that he provided vital information on a number of cases. Some Muslims in Southern California and nationally say the cascading revelations have seriously damaged their relationship with the FBI, a partnership that both sides agree is critical to preventing attacks and homegrown terrorism.Citing Monteilh's actions and what they call a pattern of FBI surveillance, many leading national Muslim organizations have virtually suspended contact with the bureau.Officials said they have gone to great lengths to maintain good relationships with Muslims, including meetings hosted by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. Last week, FBI officials met to discuss law enforcement and other issues with predominantly Muslim Somali community members in San Diego and Minneapolis. "If an FBI agent comes in and says, 'You're under arrest,'â??" he told the crowd, they should pray to Allah - and then call a lawyer. As worshipers milled around outside, they said they support the FBI's role in fighting terrorism but feel betrayed by the infiltration of their sacred place. "The FBI wants to treat the Muslim community as a partner while investigating us behind our backs,'' said Kurdi, the Loyola student. "They can't have it both ways".Hmmm....perhaps the FBI has heard of Al-taqiyya?Read the full story here.

  • Fire victim buried in non-Jewish plot.Despite circumstances of death, Rabbinate refuses to bury Prison Service cadet Tania Lansky in main plot, as her mother is not Jewish."From the very beginning, it was clear you had the determination and character of a commander," said Nafha Prison Commander Hezi Markovich. He added that Tania and her boyfriend Roman were planning to get married after she finished the cadets course.Sergeant Gal and Sergeant Nofar, who served with Tania, eulogized their friend and spoke of her work ethics, noting she was a source of inspiration. "You enjoyed life, you always encouraged and supported us; showed us the light at the end of the tunnel," they said.Tania was raised in Ashdod and moved to Ashkelon with her family two years ago. Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin said the municipality "will embrace and help the family as mush as possible."According to Vaknin, Tania was an outstanding student both in high school and at the Prison Service. "You did not ask any questions when you were asked to board that bus – you were one of the first people on it."Hmmm.....This does not seem right.Read the full story here.

  • HT:AhmadiyyaTimes.Islam in Pakistan: ‘Disabled people not allowed to pray in congregation’.KARACHI: There is a ban on wheelchairs inside mosques and disabled people are not allowed to pray in congregation, pointed out the Association of Physically Handicapped Adults (APHA) on World Disability Day.“The mullahs, who shut their mosques to us, have no idea about religion,” said the association’s SM Nishat at a news conference on Friday.According to APHA statistics, 10 per cent of the people in Pakistan are disabled in one way or the other. Out of these, 40 per cent of people are physically challenged and can barely live on the benefits offered by the state.“We do not want pity or sympathetic looks from people. We are talented educated professionals,” said Dr Maimoona Bari, who runs her own clinic in North Nazimabad and is a member of the association’s executive committee. “We just want to be awarded our rights.”“The two-per cent employment quota for the disabled is being given to [non-disabled] individuals and that is unfair,” complained APHA president Shariful Muzaffer. “Before they used to tell us that we aren’t educated enough but now when we prove our qualifications, they still offer the jobs to others.”“We need ramps for easy access into buildings, railings for support to climb stairs, lower footpaths to climb onto without help and buses friendly for handicapped people. This is not charity we are asking for, this is our right.”Hmmmm.....No Need for the Disabled. The Nazis decided that it was a waste of time and money to support the handicapped.Read the full story here.

  • HT:KleinVerzet.A welcome development. In the recent past we have reported on the perverse justice that befalls a person defending his home.Bur that has all changed with the coming into being of the new Dutch 'Danish' government. Right from the outset, out new PM, Mark Rutte, promised that persons defending their property from crime will in the future not be arrested and prosecuted for assault or 'grave bodily harm'. And curiously, this has seemed to galvanized the citizenry. All of a sudden we see stories appearing in the MSM of would-be robbers being thwarted by well-applied force. In the last case, the police did detain the owners the of the dealership, since the violence applied was deemed a little too excessive (and from what I've heard there is a little more to this particular story then a mere robbery being thwarted). However, in yet another case, the owner of a tobacco store, who managed to ward of a robbery through a swift karate kick to the head of the robber, was commended by the mayor of his home town, Zaltbommel. The mayor of Zaltbommel even went so far as to recommend this course of action (NL). The mayor recommended 'Beat the crap out of them' and assessed the performance of the tobacconist with the words: 'It's magnificent that people do this'.This is a sea change in Dutch society of the last 30-40 years. Whereas left-oriented governments unfailingly punished violence applied in the defence against crime, this new, right-wing cabinet seems to recognize that the ultimate defense am individual has is himself and the courage and force he can muster.Although one could, in a sour mood, conclude that the authorities are tacitly admitting that our police are not up to the job, it is refreshing to see our authorities finally abandoning the injustice of prosecuting victims of crime for defending themselves and their property. This is a development that is as welcom as it is unexpected. There may be hope for us yet.Hmmmmm.....lets hope it's not too contagious?Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigGoverment.A Death By A Thousand Cuts: Obama Administration’s Strategy for American Business. We have written on numerous occasions that the Obama Administration is controlled by union bosses. Throughout the administration, union bosses have planted their people in order to do their bidding to help unionize America. After you read this post, it will be hard for you to disagree with the following statement:The Obama Administration is the most anti-business administration in the last 70 years—if not ever—in the United States of America. It is also important to know just “who” the U.S. Solicitor of Labor is. Patricia Smith is the former Commissioner of the New York State Department of Labor.During Ms. Smith’s tenure as the NYS Labor Commissioner, Ms. Smith introduced a program called New York Wage Watch As Ms. Smith took her state experience to the federal level—by following Barack Obama’s pledge to the AFL-CIO to do the union bosses’ bidding—it now appears that Smith will be doing what she did to New York businesses to the rest of America. No wonder businesses don’t want to hire in the United States. With as anti-business as the Obama Administration is, what sane business leader is going to invest in jobs so they can be targeted and shamed by its own government?Hmmmmm...sounds more like some form of Jihad waged against the American business.Read the full story here.

  • HT:JihadWatch.Geert Wilders in Tel Aviv: "Israel is an immense source of inspiration for me".Here is the text of the speech Geert Wilders gave in Tel Aviv today:Shalom chaveriem, Let me start by saying that it is with great sadness that I share your grief over the deaths of more than 40 brave Israelis who lost their lives - many while trying to save others in the great fire near Haifa. My country, the Netherlands, is amongst other countries helping to put down this fire, which is threatening the lives and property of thousands of your compatriots. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who perished. My thoughts are with them.Israel is an immense source of inspiration for me. When I came to your country for the first time as a teenager, I lived here for a year.I am not ashamed to stand with Israel, but proud. I am grateful to Israel. I will always defend Israel. Your country is the cradle of Western civilization. We call it the Judeo-Christian civilization with good reason.Israel is often being treated unfairly. The world looks at the plight of the Palestinians in refugee camps in Lebanon, Gaza, and other places, and many blame Israel. The UN claims that there are over 4.7 million Palestinian refugees, and many blame Israel. These voices say the Palestinians should be allowed to return to "Palestine." But where is Palestine? Many say Israel must solve the problems of Palestine. But is Israel guilty of the plight of the Palestinian refugees? My answer is "No." The Arab leaders are to be blamed - and Islam is to be blamed. Let me first tell you why, and then I will tell you where Palestine can be found.Hmmm....why does he always remind me of the "Geuzen" The Dutch Noblemen who stood up against the Spanish king?Read the full story here.

  • HT:YidWithLid.Video of Helen Thomas Anti-Semitic Speech Delivered 12-2 in Dearborn, MI  Most Americans were horrified by Helen Thomas' latest round of anti-Semitic hatred, which ironically were made at an Islamic anti-bias forum. For example, Thomas' alma mater, gave out a Wayne State University Helen Thomas Spirit of Diversity in the Media, well until she made the comment."We are owned by propagandists against the Arabs. There's no question about that. Congress, the White House, and Hollywood, Wall Street, are owned by the Zionists. No question in my opinion. They put their money where there mouth is...Thomas was able to put almost every anti-Semitic stereotype into that one paragraph. Which led Wayne State to realize that maybe Ms. Thomas' hatred of Jews did not make her an appropriate person to name a "Spirit of Diversity in the Media" after, so they announced on Friday that they would no longer be giving out that award.Hmmmm.....Only little Children and elderly people say what they really mean?Read and see the full story here.

  • Iran 'produces own raw uranium'.Well they claim so! Iran says it has delivered its first domestically produced raw uranium, or yellowcake, to a plant that can make it ready for enrichment. The statement, from Iran's nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi, comes the day before talks between Iran and world powers over its nuclear programme.Enriched uranium can be used for fuel in reactors or made into nuclear bombs. The US and its allies believe Iran may be trying to produce nuclear weapons, a claim denied by Iran.Tehran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful, civilian purposes."The West had counted on the possibility of us being in trouble over raw material but today we had the first batch of yellowcake from Gachin mine sent to Isfahan (conversion) facility," Mr Salehi said on state television.Iran was believed to be running low on its stock of yellowcake, originally imported from South Africa in the 1970s. The claim comes ahead of talks in Geneva on Monday between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the US, Russia, China, France and Britain - and Germany.US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged Iran to enter the talks in good faith and with "a much more sober assessment of what isolation means", given successive rounds of UN sanctions.Read the full story here.

  • Islamic website tied to MP's stabbing resurfaces under new name. A radical US-based Islamic website shut down last month after allegedly helping to inspire the stabbing of a Labour MP has resurfaced with a new name.Younus Abdullah Muhammad, a founder of both sites, told The Daily Telegraph that IslamPolicy.com was the direct successor to RevolutionMuslim.com which was closed amid the furore over its role in the attack on Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham."IslamPolicy will continue with the work of RevolutionMuslim," Mr Muhammad, a white American convert to Islam, said during an interview in which he called the Sept 11 terror attacks "justified violence". He continued: "If loving Muslims that fight and die to defend themselves from Western imperialism make the UK and US governments associate me or IslamPolicy with terrorists, then I am honoured to be so associated." US counter-terrorism officials say that at least a third of the more than 50 domestic terror suspects arrested in America in the last year had ties to RevolutionMuslim, an English-language site aimed at Muslims in the West. Peter Barron, European communications director for Google, said: "We are looking at the new site and will remove content which breaks our guidelines on hate speech and dangerous or illegal content. What we can't do, and which few people would want a private company to do, is check what people want to post online before they do so." The site's re-emergence as IslamPolicy prompted demands for the new site to be closed by Patrick Mercer, the Conservative MP who was formerly his party's Homeland Security spokesman. "I am horrified to hear that the people behind the RevolutionMuslim site have started up again," he said. "I am equally surprised that the American authorities have allowed these highly suspicious individuals to operate yet again." Hmmm.....just this clue as to why:Obama "Islam is a great religion"?Read the full story here.

  • Cry of 'plot' from Turkey's Grey Wolves. The Nationalist Movement Party, or MHP’s, failure to convince typically loyal precincts to vote “no” in the Sept. 12 referendum sparked questions about the party’s future, and allegations from its leader of a political plot.Dogged by criticisms that he was moving the MHP away from its traditional grassroots, party chief Devlet Bahçeli accused religious leaders and figures within the Justice and Development Party, or AKP, government of plotting to destroy the nationalist party.“A smear campaign against the MHP has been launched by the AKP for a certain reason and is being orchestrated by a center across the Atlantic,” Bahçeli wrote in a Sept. 18 statement to the party organization. The veiled reference was to Fethullah Gülen, the U.S.-based leader of the religious Gülen community, said to have ties to the AKP.According to Osman Kara, former leader of the Ülkü Ocakları in Samsun, there has been a shift in the country “toward religious communities, the people in power and prosperity. Religious communities ... both provide prosperity and present an ideal for the future. Right or wrong, someone is benefiting. We have to resolve this.”Comments made openly and off the record, as well as observations from around the country, indicate that power is changing hands in the perceived conflict between the Gülen community and the prominent members of the MHP. With the Ülkü Ocakları no longer attractive with the youth and efforts to involve women having stalled, the influence of religious communities on Turkey’s nationalists seems to be expanding.Hmmm......"religious communities"somehow doesn't sound good combined with NATO.Read the full story here.

  • HT:MoonBattery.Fox Guest Threatened for Opposing Dream Act Amnesty. With uncounted millions pouring over the willfully undefended southern border, it's inevitable that America will become more like blood-drenched Mexico, where physical intimidation rules. We can see it happening already:Dream Act Amnesty supporters, including the President of Immigration Clearinghouse, have issued a fatwa calling for the murder of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC's President William Gheen following his appearance on Fox and Friends.Local police and the FBI have been contacted and reports have been filed concerning these threats and civil rights violations that are coming from Dream Act Amnesty supporters. The Dream Act Amnesty would give legal status, college access, and voting rights to over 2 million illegal aliens."I try my best in the national media to represent the 59% of Americans found in certified polls who oppose the Dream Act Amnesty," said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. "Now I am receiving death threats from Dream Act leaders who are also posting my home address, while encouraging grenade attacks on me because I oppose Amnesty."William Gheen appeared on Fox News at 6:15am EST on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. In the interview, Gheen said that the Dream Act Amnesty was a "Political Teddy Bear with a hand grenade in it," and that passage of the Dream Act Amnesty could eventually lead to "millions of innocent American students, workers, and voters being displaced and replaced by illegal aliens."In response, reconquistadors have been circulating Gheen's home address and calling for him to be killed with a grenade. "In other countries, big fires took longer. We have been asked, 'How can you put out a big fire in less than three days, while it takes other countries three weeks?' My response was, 'We have no other country, and it's a very small country.' As fires swept through the hills around the northern city of Haifa for a fourth day, hopes were high that the arrival in Israel in the early hours of a rented Boeing Supertanker, the largest aerial firefighting plane in the world, would finally tip the balance in the struggle to put out the flames.Read the full story here.

  • HT:NorthEastIntelligence.U.S. Government: Outreach or complicity with terrorists?3 December 2010: There are some deeply troubling aspects pertaining to the U.S. government’s approach to the “war against terror” that need to be fully addressed and investigated. It has often been considered unpopular and unpatriotic to question the official accounts of various aspects of 9/11 and the government’s handling of issues related to that event. Based on an honest assessment of investigative reports, recent revelations and current government sanctioned activities, however, it would be unpatriotic not to do so.Consider that the primary reason given by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that all air passengers must be subjected to a full body scan or an enhanced pat-down stems from the actions of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 2009 Christmas Day “underwear” bomber and threats related to his modus operandi. Beyond the obvious irregularities surrounding that event (and the subject of a future report), the inspiration, facilitator and instructor of that failed attack has been publicly identified as Anwar al Awlaki (a/k/a Anwar Nasser Abdulla Aulaqi). Al Awlaki is currently “at large” and being sought by our intelligence agencies. It was first reported by Fox News correspondent Catherine Herridge that Al Awlaki was a guest at a luncheon held at the Pentagon just months following the 9/11 attacks as part of an official government “outreach program.” Despite being “vetted,” Al Awlaki had a long criminal history stemming back at least a decade-and-a-half before 9/11. According to investigative reports, Al Awlaki was interviewed by the FBI on 17 September 2001 due to his relationship to three of the hijackers, although was inexplicably released.Following that luncheon, he was identified as the inspiration behind Fort Hood killer Nidal Malik Hassan, the guidance counselor to the thwarted Times Square bomber, two “alleged” would-be New Jersey Muslim terrorists arrested in June, and the now infamous attempted Christmas Day airline bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.Despite the vast amount of information contained in the FBI, CIA and Pentagon files that have existed about Anwar al Awlaki for at least two decades, references within the 9/11 Commission Report are often overlooked. The 9/11 Commission Report, formally named the Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, was the product of an investigation that began on 22 November 2002 and lasted through the summer of 2004. The final report was published on 22 July 2004. The report noted that al Awlaki remained under suspicion by the Commission, but despite the money and resources at their disposal, they had been unable to locate him. One is forced to wonder how hard they tried, or if they tried at all.The outreach by Ambassador Susman was part of President Barack Hussein Obama’s “call for a renewed dialogue with Muslim communities around the world” that is being spearheaded by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. What the ambassador and the U.S. State Department declined to address are the direct and unquestionable connections between the East London Mosque and terrorists. The current actions of this administration combined with the historical decisions of the former administration begs the question: is it ignorance or complicity? In either case, it is inexcusable, and a full investigation must be launched that encompasses all aspects of our government’s involvement with terrorists and terror events from 9/11 to the present. Anything less would be an affront to those who have died on American soil or on behalf of our country.Hmmmm....Obama "Islam is a great religion".Read the full story here.

  • Al Qaeda claims fire of Mount Caramel.A group, calling itself "Lions of the mujahideen in Palestine" in an Internet message, claims to have started the fire between Thursday and Friday to avenge the death of some fighters in Gaza. The Israeli authorities deny the fire was caused deliberately. International assistance arrives. The terrorist organization Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the fire that has devastated the forests of Mount Caramel, the most serious environmental disaster in the history of Israel. Although the local police authorities attribute the blaze to negligence and the prolonged drought that is affecting the region.Today, a new terrorist group, which claims links to Al Qaeda, posted a video message on jihadist forums, the same used by Osama Bin Laden, declaring to be behind the fire. The group, which calls itself “Lions of the mujahideen in Palestine" claims to have set fire to the trees of Mount Carmel, triggering the inferno which is still raging. "The lions of the mujahideen in Palestine" say they carried out the arson attack on the night between Thursday and Friday - "performing a holy and heroic expedition within the territory of the usurpers on occupied Mount Caramel setting fire to its trees, causing the deaths of more than 40 people and wounding dozens, as recognized by the enemy itself".Read the full story here.

  • Delightful: White House Seeks to Shred More of the Constitution by Eradicating House of Representatives' Power of the Purse.Ed Morrissey finds the buried gem inside a staid Politico report on the U.S. budget. The action came as the administration sent to the Capitol more than 50 funding adjustments it wants considered as part of what would be a stripped-down appropriations package for the remainder of the 2011 fiscal year ending Sept. 30.Many agencies would be left frozen at their current spending levels, but the documents indicate the White House is seeking more than $11.4 billion in new spending above 2010, chiefly for foreign aid and defense accounts as well as education initiatives and housing assistance for low-income tenants. The administration also wants to a remarkably open-ended authority to transfer funds between accounts — a power that is sure to be resisted by the Appropriations Committee leadership. This is what’s known as “burying the lead” in journalism. A Republican House will have the “power of the purse” to put an end to executive branch overreach — for instance, the efforts at the EPA to create carbon caps outside of Congressional authorization, the FCC’s attempts to regulate the Internet, and so on. That power is a key part of the checks and balances in federal government......[Obama knows] that Republicans plan on using the power of the purse to keep the Obama administration from abusing its power and making end-runs around the legislature. It all but demands a blank check from Congress as a budget plan and ends their ability to direct funding as it sees fit. It’s a carte blanche for runaway executive power.Morrissey is absolutely right to state that "every member of Congress should protest this demand to surrender the Constitutional prerogative of budgeting and the check on power it represents. Otherwise, they will consign the people’s branch to a mere rubber stamp for executive whims."The nation's highest law -- the Constitution -- is a mere inconvenience for the great Barack Obama and the most radical Congress in American history.Constitutional attorney Mark Levin once called the Obama White House "as close to a dictatorship as this country has ever seen". Every day and in every way, Alinsky's most celebrated acolyte seems determined to prove his detractors right.
Hmmmmm.......still think there will be fair democratic elections in 2012?

  • Anger as schools drop Christian assemblies in favour of multi-faith sessions or 'moments of reflection'.Christians have criticised the growing number of schools which have dropped their traditional assemblies in favour of multi-faith sessions or ‘moments of reflection’ which include children staring at rocks, meditating or discussing the news.More than 140 primary and secondary schools across Britain have won the right to opt out of the legal requirement to provide a daily act of worship which is ‘broadly Christian’ in character.Several hold Islamic assemblies with readings from the Koran, while others hold sessions giving weeksequal prominence to all faiths and sometimes incorporate events such as Black History Month and Chinese New Year. The disclosure that so many schools have ditched the Christian service has upset traditionalists.Mike Judge, of The Christian Institute, said: ‘It is part of an attempt to airbrush Christianity from public life. Of course it is important to be sensitive to other faiths but I think all children should be made aware of our Christian heritage. It is as much part of our island story as 1066 and the Battle of Hastings.‘A lot of Muslim parents don’t mind their children learning about the nature of Christianity. I think it’s a question of other people being offended on their behalf.’Bradford, West Yorkshire, which has a large Muslim community, has the highest number of opt-outs at 47. In 40 of these schools pupils attend one assembly a week which is devoted to Islam and four other sessions which have a multi-faith approach. In the other seven schools there are five multi-faith session. Hmmm...a new Crusade is going on,only this time it's the other way around,Christianity is all over the World under assault!Read the full story here.

  • Assessment: Carmel fire nearing its end. Largest firefighting aircraft lands in Israel overnight, begins dumping water, flame retardant chemicals on inferno in north. IAF officer: It will contribute significantly to fire extinguishing efforts.Following a meeting with Israel Air Force commander Major General Ido Nehushtan and Fire Service chief Shimon Romah on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to halt the arrival of additional firefighting airplanes to Israel. His decision was based on the estimation that the deadly fire in the Mount Carmel region will be under control soon, and therefore no additional international aid will be needed.A giant American aircraft joined the battle against the deadly inferno in the Carmel region Sunday morning. As fires swept through the hills around the northern city of Haifa for a fourth day, hopes were high that the arrival in Israel in the early hours of a rented Boeing Supertanker, the largest aerial firefighting plane in the world, would finally tip the balance in the struggle to put out the flames. The plane was dumping water and flame retardant chemicals on the Carmel hills. Residents were asked to close windows and turn on the air-conditioner as long as the aircraft is operating.Prime Minister Netanyahu said that unlike aircraft already on the scene, the Supertanker was able to operate at night, a potentially decisive quality."The pilots and firefighters do exceptional work but night falls and the wind-fanned embers return to life, so the ability to operate at night is very significant," Netanyahu told a news conference in Haifa.Read the full story here.

  • HT:JihadWatch.New Turkish film highlights "America's paranoia with the Islamic world after 9/11".The movie is clearly an orgy of Muslim victimhood, complete with a villainous U.S. law enforcement officer (played by Robert Patrick) stalking into a mosque during prayers and making statements about Islam that no actual American law enforcement official has ever dreamed of uttering in today's hyper-PC environment.Interesting to note also Gina Gershon's and Danny Glover's presence in the film. Probably Hollywood's fashionable Leftism made acting in this America-hating screed seem to them to be a moral duty.Hmmm...in case anyone still had doubts about Turkey their allegiance ,now you know ,get them out of NATO NOW!Read and see the full story here.

  • EU states show reluctance to cooperate with Turkey on terror.Turkish officials have added yet another complaint to the long-endured attitude of indifference from European security agencies towards members of terrorist organizations, such as the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), that reside in EU countries: Authorities in EU countries seem reluctant to engage in judicial solidarity to the point where they refrain from signing bilateral agreements on handing over detained terror suspects to Turkey.European countries are reluctant to hand over many PKK leaders, along with other detainees, such as Fehriye Erdal, who was convicted for the assassination of Özdemir Sabancı. As if this were not enough, no decisive measures have been taken against economic activities conducted by the PKK in those countries. In the last decade Turkey has demanded from Europe the repatriation of 158 detainees who are members of terrorist organizations, 154 of whom were PKK militants. Up until now, 14 PKK militants and an Islamic Great East Raiders Front (İBDA-C) militant have been handed over to Turkey. Belgium, Holland and Denmark are among the countries that completely rejected Turkey’s demands in this respect, whereas Romania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine partially met them.Every year Turkey sends an updated list of detainees prepared on the basis of the current status of terrorist organizations such as the PKK and DHKP-C in Europe. As is known, most of the detained PKK militants in Europe have been sought by Interpol red notices, and Germany handed four of them over to Turkey. It was later determined that one was a lower-ranking militant in the terrorist organization. Turkey submitted to the US and Iraqi governments the list of 248 PKK militants it demands repatriation of. Turkey also called for the arrest of 18 PKK leaders who are leading prosperous lives in Europe. Leaders like Zübeyir Aydar and Ali Rıza Altun were arrested several times by authorities in Europe, but Turkey’s demands for their repatriation were rejected and the leaders were released.Hmmm...perhaps because they consider them "freedomfighters"?Read the full story here.

  • Farah Pandith : ‘Identity issue hardest challenge for young Muslims’“No matter where in the world I’ve been, no matter what country or community I’ve been [to], [I’ve found that] this generation is having a hard time navigating their identity. What does it mean to be modern and Muslim? What is the difference between culture and religion?” Pandith said. Her position was created following US President Barack Obama’s Cairo speech almost one-and-a-half years ago, in which he reached out to Muslims around the globe.Pandith has become the first person to serve in this role executing US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's vision for engagement with the Muslim communities around the world.Secretary Clinton gets a report of each of my trips. One of the major initiatives that has come from my trips and that we launched in connection with Secretary Clinton's iftar in September is called Generation Change. We brought together young Muslims from across America who are doing amazing things to make positive change in their communities, and we are now working with our embassies to hold similar events around the world with some of the best young social entrepreneurs.Hmmmmmmm"Generation Change" who's among them?Secretary Clinton praised 70 young American Muslim leaders who attended the iftar, as well as an event earlier in the evening, called Generation Change. Generation Change gave the young leaders an opportunity to network and to discuss issues important to their communities.Rashad Hussein, the U.S. envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and Precious Muhammad, a highly regarded historian, were singled out for praise by Clinton. Muhammad is writing a chronicle of Islam in America for the State Department.“And it is indeed a rich history that extends back hundreds of years,” Clinton said.Clinton said that an iftar can be a time of reflection on how to build a better future.Hmmmm.....lets look at "Precious Muhammad, a highly regarded historian".Precious Rasheeda Muhammad, a third-generation African-American Muslim and founder-editor of the Journal of Islam in America, introduced the August 11 panel, which was held in Washington. She said the convening of such a panel speaks of the freedom of Muslim-American women in the United States.Muhammad outlined the history of prominent women in Islam since the revelation of the Quran 1,400 years ago. Some of them were political leaders and others fought as soldiers alongside men, she said.Muhammad said that in the United States a movement to educate Muslims about their own heritage and culture began with Sister Clara Muhammad, the wife of the Nation of Islam’s founder, Elijah Muhammad. Sister Clara founded a network of schools to educate African-American Muslims beginning in the 1930s.Hmmm......Precious admires "the Nation of Islam's founder's wife sister Clara Mohammed" he was among other things the mentor of Louis Farrakhan,....i can't wait to read that "chronicle of Islam in America",and see what kind of Islamic leaders they will become in the USA...perhaps even obtain the Presidency?A pitty young Muslims ...all over the world don't have a challenge with that part in the Koran about hating Jews .Read the full story here.More on the Nation of Islam and Farrakhan here ,here and here.

  • HT:NewsRealBlog.AmericanCatholic.org: Apologists for Islam.Google these two words — catholic islam — and the #1 search result is a page from AmericanCatholic.org entitled “Islam: What Catholics Should Know“. Instead of telling readers what reasonable Catholics (like the Pope?) understand to be true — that Islam is a violent political system married to a religion – the site paints quite a rosy picture. AmericanCatholic.org seems to be more “lip-service Muslim” than Catholic in its exposition of Islam. I’ll demonstrate that fact.In order to see how far off base AmericanCatholic.org is, it is helpful to first look at other top Catholic sites. Many of them address Islam only superficially and with what seems to be a mind toward convincing individual Muslims of shared beliefs, very likely in the hope that they might be converted to Christianity. At AmericanCatholic.org, however, the message about Islam is decidedly different. Here are some quotes from two pages on Islam, complete with my translations which I’m sure regular NRB readers will find easy to understand:Islam has been unjustly portrayed as a religion that fosters violent and extremist behavior. (The Real Islam)Translation: Everyone who calls Islam what it really is — as Pope Benedict did — must be an Islamophobe.Hmmmm....they must be the No. 1 in "interfaith dialog" also?Read the full submission story here.

  • Afghan Women's Uncertain Future.During yesterday's Afghanistan visit, Obama talked of progress. But as Ann Marlowe reports from Mullah Omar's birthplace, many women still suffer under customary law. When President Obama arrived in Afghanistan for an unannounced visit on Friday, all eyes were trained on his talk with President Hamid Karzai, and if he might be able to revive the flagging relationship between Washington and Kabul. At the top of the agenda was a U.S. withdrawal, now scheduled for 2014. In recent months, U.S. officials—including Gen. David Petraeus—have highlighted progress in the country. But for half the population—Afghanistan's women—that's a truth with modifications. The province of Zabul offers a contradictory—but realistic—window on the problems and opportunities facing the country.Hmmmm....Do we have the right to give people hope and then abandon them?Read the full story here.

But after a while, she noticed that they could no longer concentrate.“They kept blushing and turning their faces away from their class mates although it is a female centre…after a few days, they quit the school,” she said.Hmmmm.....these are the people who have a seat in the UN for women rights?God have mercy on us!Read the full story here.

  • Save Obama - by running against him.People who used to say, "Give President Obama more time" when the president was criticized for capitulating to the right, or who argued that Obama must have a plan to turn things around, are now largely depressed and angry. To many liberals and progressives, the president's unwillingness to veto any measure that includes continued tax relief for billionaires is the last straw, building on a record of spinelessness that includes his escalation of the war in Afghanistan, abandonment of a public option for health-care reform, refusal to prosecute those who tortured in Iraq or lied us into that war, and unwillingness to tax carbon emissions. With his base deeply disillusioned, many progressives are starting to believe that Obama has little chance of winning reelection unless he enthusiastically embraces a populist agenda and worldview - soon. Yet there is little chance that will happen without a massive public revolt by his constituency that goes beyond rallies, snide remarks from television personalities or indignant op-eds.But there is a real way to save the Obama presidency: by challenging him in the 2012 presidential primaries with a candidate who would unambiguously commit to a well-defined progressive agenda and contrast it with the Obama administration's policies. Such a candidacy would be pooh-poohed by the media, but if it gathered enough popular support - as is likely given the level of alienation among many who were the backbone of Obama's 2008 success - this campaign would pressure Obama toward much more progressive positions and make him a more viable 2012 candidate. Far from weakening his chances for reelection, this kind of progressive primary challenge could save Obama if he moves in the desired direction. And if he holds firm to his current track, he's a goner anyway.Hmmm....will there still be free elections in 2012?Read the full story here.

  • World running out of new places to fish: study. The world's fishing industry is fast running out of new ocean fishing grounds to exploit as it depletes existing areas through unsustainable harvesting practices, according to a study published Thursday.Expansion into unexploited fishing grounds allowed global catches to increase for decades, and disguised the fact that older areas were being depleted, according researchers at the University of British Columbia and National Geographic."We knew the expansion was going on, but this is the first time we have quantified it," said Daniel Pauly, a scientist at the Vancouver-based university who co-authored the report published in the online journal PLoS ONE.About 19 million tons of fish were landed in 1950, and that increased to a peak of 90 million tons a year in the late 1980s, according to the researchers, who looked at data from 1950 to 2005.The researchers tracked the expansion of fishing activity using computer models that examine both the total number of fish caught and the impact that catching different types of fish has had on the ocean's productivity.By the late 1990s, the world's fishing fleets had largely run out of new fishing grounds to exploit, the researchers said.Hmmm...During WWII the European fish stocks recovered greatly due to the fact that there was hardly any commercial fishing in Europe. No need to say more!Read the full story here.

  • And now for something complething completely different.Reports of weeping Virgin Mary statue draw faithful to Ontario church.A Virgin Mary statue is drawing scores of people to an ethnic Roman Catholic church with reports that she smiles during the day and weeps tears of healing oil at night. Two veteran investigators of religious and paranormal phenomenon cautioned, however, that the weeping Madonna figure is more likely a case of "pious deception."The plaster statue has been displayed since Nov. 6 at St. Charbel Maronite Roman Catholic Church in Windsor, Ontario, a modest brick building serving Lebanese Catholics. The church has been packed with more than 400 people at recent weekend Masses, but on a recent Tuesday evening, about 40 people participated in a 7 p.m. recitation of the rosary. After about 20 minutes, a reverente is drawing scores of people to an ethnic Roman Catholic church with reports that she smiles during the day and weeps tears of healing oil at night. After about 20 minutes, a reverent buzz arose from the front of the church.A man in a leather jacket near the statue pointed a finger at the corner of his eye, then moved his finger down his cheek -- signaling that the Madonna was weeping.Meanwhile, pilgrims collected tears, and Ibrahim began getting reports that people had been miraculously healed by the oil.The Rev. Chaaya Akkari agreed to accept the statue at St. Charbel's, although he was not convinced at the time that the tears were real. He washed and scrubbed the statue twice by hand, wanting to ensure there was no oil or residue or trickery. For the first week that Mary stood in St. Charbel's sanctuary, there were no signs or miracles. Then, during recitation of the rosary on the evening of Nov. 13, the Maronite priest said he and about 50 worshippers clearly saw tears dripping from the statue's eyes. "It's true. I saw it," Akkari said. "Now I know."The Virgin Mary statue has been weeping almost nightly ever since, and people have been visiting the church from throughout Ontario and Michigan.Rhett Rushing, a professor at the University of Texas-San Antonio, also a veteran investigator of weeping Madonnas, said, "My theory as a social scientist is that you'll see what you came expecting to see."The public is fascinated with the supernatural, Rushing said. "You're looking at two words here: truth and faith. Where do they cross? And can they cross? You can't scientifically debunk or investigate something that's based on faith. A faith-based investigation is an oxymoron."Hmmmm ...maybe...on the other hand a new statue ,new wood drying could give a kind of sap leakage ,Canada and Maple syrup go together.Read the full story here.

  • Wikileaks 2010-12-03: Censorship watch, continued.United States: The Office of Management and Budget today directed all federal agencies to bar employees from accessing the Wikileaks web site. Talking Points Memo obtained a copy of letter sent out by OMB, which "directed the agencies to immediately tell their employees to 'safeguard classified information' by not accessing Wikileaks over the Internet.Classified information, the OMB notes, 'remains classified ... until it is declassified by an appropriate U.S. Government authority.' Employees may not view classified info over a non-classified system (i.e., the Internet), the OMB says, 'as doing so risks that material still classified will be placed onto non-classified systems.'"AFP, The Guardian and CNN have more on the story.

  • Senate rejects million-dollar tax-cut compromise in Saturday session.United Senate Republicans joined a small handful of Democrats on Saturday to defeat a pair of proposals to extend some of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts signed into law by President George W. Bush.Voting nearly identically, the Senate twice failed to meet a 60-vote threshold necessary to move forward on both proposals. Meeting in a rare Saturday session after agreements fell through for a Friday vote, the results were widely expected. They were also somewhat premature, as the White House is still negotiating with congressional leaders on an alternative compromise proposal.Alluding to last year's Christmas Eve votes on the healthcare reform bill, Reid said he planned to adjourn the chamber on Friday, Dec. 17, for Christmas recess."We all know where we were last year on Christmas Eve," Reid said. "We don't want to be in the same place this Christmas Eve."Read the full story here.

  • Was President Obama endangered by premature news reports of his arrival in Afghan warzone?A growing flap -- and concerns -- over President Obama's personal safety and security in the Afghan war zone tonight, given that some American news outlets reported he was there nearly a half-hour before Air Force One actually landed. The concern is not just factual. Thus alerted, an enemy with a shoulder-fired missile near Bagram Air Base outside Kabul could have fired on the president's plane or its decoys. The president is over the Atlantic Ocean now on a 15-hour return trip following a three-hour-25-minute stay at Bagram and a refueling stop in Germany. He'll return to the White House early Saturday morning and is expected to make a statement about the newly-completed U.S.-Korean trade agreement, which had stalled during his recent visit to Seoul.According to news pool reports from Air Force One, already White House officials are investigating how the news embargo was dangerously broken first by ABC News and then CNN and MSNBC.Some details of the president's plans in Afghanistan were also reported incorrectly initially, and his helicopter trip into Kabul to meet President Hamid Karzai was canceled due to weather concerns.Hmmm...we don't want anything happening to the President after his damaged lip,do we?That includes him getting wet!Read the full story here.

The alliance said in a statement that Afghan and coalition investigators have determined that Monday's shooting happened after the American troops, partnered with Afghan National Army soldiers, climbed a mountain in Nangarhar province for an artillery drill. After customary tea was served by an Afghan border police unit manning the outpost, the coalition forces fired the first artillery shell as part of the practice drill, NATO said. • Cablegate: Censorship and freedom in unlikely places.France: The French minister for industry, energy and digital economy, Eric Besson, wrote to CGIET, the body governing internet use, to ask that hosting for WikiLeaks in France be terminated, reports Libération. WikiLeaks has been partly hosted by French provider OVH since December 2nd, after Amazon cancelled its hosting service under political pressure from Sen. Lieberman's office.Besson wrote that "The situation is unacceptable. France cannot host websites that violate diplomatic relations secrecy and endanger persons protected by diplomatic confidentiality. We cannot host sites that have been called criminal and rejected by other countries on the basis of harm to national rights." One would be tempted to ask Mr. Besson whether he is suggesting that Le Monde cannot be hosted in France either, seeing as how the paper has published exactly the same material as WikiLeaks.OVH however did not bow to the pressure, responding in a letter that it will refer the issue of the legality of hosting WikiLeaks to a judge, and that "it was not up to the politicians or OVH to request or decide the closure of the site."More from - Pakistan - Russia andthe USA.Read the full story here.

  • HT:JIDaily. Why Menorahs?Menorahs In Jewish Art.From 40 B.C.E. to the Knesset, the long history of an artistic symbol. Why is the menorah such a powerful and long-lasting symbol of the Jewish people? After all, its lure ostensibly originates in a relatively minor rabbinic festival, Hanukah. No disrespect intended, but how can Hanukah compare to the great pilgrimage festivals, Passover, Shavous and Succos or the Days of Awe with Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur? Of course it is not the Hanukah menorah that captivates us, rather it is the Temple menorah that carries such an awesome power. Originating in the Torah commandment in Exodus 25:31 "you shall make me a menorah of pure gold " Rashi explains that so wondrous and complex was the menorah that is was finally fashioned with a miracle; "throw a kikar of gold into the fire and it will be made by itself."Read the full story here.

  • HT:RefugeeResettlementWatch.San Diego Somalis don’t believe Obama administration’s case.SAN DIEGO — Despite scores of FBI intercepts, many local Somalis think the government’s case against four area San Diegans is fabricated and believe their community remains caught in the crosshairs of 9/11.“There’s no Somali that I know today who supports al-Shabab,” said Mohamed Mohamed, a local Somali college student. But in court papers, federal prosecutors say at least one of the accused men — Basaaly Moalin — had ties with top-ranking al-Shabab figures including Ayden Hashi Ayrow, the founder of al-Shabab which is trying to topple the weak central government in Somalia.International Rescue Committee spokesman says undue pressure put on Somali “community” by authorities.College student Yusuf Ali questions how the Imam, who counseled the community’s youth on the importance of education and Islam, could support al-Shabaab — a brutal group infamous for cutting off people’s hands and beheadings.“He was my mentor. He used to tell me, `stay in school, stay away from drugs, study.’ He was teaching me my religion. He never taught me any violence. I was with him for 10 years. I never saw him doing that stuff.”When asked if he thought the government was lying, Ali said, “Yeah, I do.”Edgar Hopida of the Council on American-Islamic Relations says past terrorism cases have fostered that perception. He says the government has accused other American Muslims of having ties to violent Islamist groups but ends up with minor immigration violation convictions.“So when they saw this come about with one of their local leaders, they saw it as `oh no, here we go again,’” Hopida said.Hmmmm....the FBI profiling Somalians, while giving the Arabs free guided tours of the FBI facilities?Neh?No Way!Read the full story here.

  • "The War On Christmas"O CHRISTMAS TREE: Ames High School takes down holiday decorations.School Officals say they got calls calling the tree "offensive".A Christmas tree in Ames High School's cafeteria was taken down just two days after it was donated to the school for its winter dance. School officials say they removed the decoration after several phone calls stating it was "offensive."Ames school district officials call it a "winter tree," but students say the tree was clearly a Christmas tree. Both described it as a pine tree decorated with cardinal and gold lights and ornaments."You can't stop the world from celebrating. You shouldn't be offended by the tree it was donated and we had to take it down. It was kind of heartbreaking. People liked tree in the lunch room," says student Jay Hoskins."I didn't find it offensive but I guess I could see why people would but I don't think people did. I bet someone told their parents and they didn't think it was a good idea in case someone did get offended," says student Eric Jones."I think its' them being oversensitive and overly politically correct. They did call it non-denominational so don't see why it could offend someone when they're trying so hard to make it not offensive," says student Megan Streit. The district's policy on religion says, "The district is required by law to keep the practice of religion out of the school curriculum. Preferential or derogatory treatment of any religion shall not take place." Hmmmmm....who declared war on Christmas?Human Rights Article 18 - "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance. A 17-year-old girl in Somalia who converted to Christianity from Islam was shot to death last week in an apparent “honor killing,” area sources said.Nurta Mohamed Farah, who had fled her village of Bardher, Gedo Region to Galgadud Region to live with relatives after her parents tortured her for leaving Islam, died on Nov. 25. Area sources said they strongly suspected that the two unidentified men in Galgadud Region who shot her in the chest and head with a pistol were relatives or acting on their behest.“Reports reached the relatives in Galgadud that Nurta Farah had converted to Christianity,” one source said. “The suspicion that the family is responsible is a solid one. The sister was killed in Abudwaq, a district in Galgadud Region, and the place where the incident took place is about 200 meters from where the sister was staying with relatives.”Relatives buried Farah, sources said. Her parents had severely beaten her for leaving Islam and regularly shackled her to a tree at their home, Christian sources said. • HT:AntiWar.State Dept Warning Students Not to Read, Share WikiLeaks.Spokeswoman Says Commenting on WikiLeaks Not a Good Move for Any Citizen.Columbia University’s Office of Career Service is said to have passed around an email warning students that if they read WikiLeaks or make comments related to the releases it would render them ineligible for any government jobs in the future, based on a warning sent by a former student working at the State Department.State Department spokeswoman Nicole Thompson insisted the warning wasn’t an official Department directive but added that making public comments or posting links to WikiLeaks content wasn’t “a good move for any US citizen.Beyond the State Department, the US military is also said to be trying to curb access to the content among active duty personnel, with attempts to visit any media website from the military’s open network resulting in a warning message not to read anything related to the WikiLeaks release. The Social Security Administration has also sent an alert to all its employees warning them that reading anything related to the WikiLeaks release could subject them to “federal criminal statutes for unlawful access to or transmission of classified information.”Even the Library of Congress is getting into the game, with attempts to visit the website at the Library resulting in a warning that the site is “malicious content” and has been blocked.Hmmm.....Transparancy....Obama?Yeah whatevah.Read the full story here.

  • Hold the Brownies! Bill Could Limit Bake Sales. Don't touch my brownies! A child nutrition bill on its way to President Barack Obama - and championed by the first lady - gives the government power to limit school bake sales and other fundraisers that health advocates say sometimes replace wholesome meals in the lunchroom.Republicans, notably Sarah Palin, and public school organizations decry the bill as an unnecessary intrusion on a common practice often used to raise money."This could be a real train wreck for school districts," Lucy Gettman of the National School Boards Association said Friday, a day after the House cleared the bill. "The federal government should not be in the business of regulating this kind of activity at the local level."It wouldn't apply to after-hours events or concession stands at sports events.Public health groups pushed for the language on fundraisers, which encourages the secretary of Agriculture to allow them only if they are infrequent. The language is broad enough that a president's administration could even ban bake sales, but Secretary Tom Vilsack signaled in a letter to House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif., this week that he does not intend to do that. The USDA has a year to write rules that decide how frequent is infrequent.Palin mocked the efforts last month by bringing a plate of cookies to a school speech in Pennsylvania. Rep. John Kline of Minnesota, the senior Republican on the House Education and Labor Committee, said the federal government "has really gone too far" when it is deciding when to hold bake sales. Some parents say they are perplexed by what the new rules might allow."Limiting bake sales is so narrow-minded," said Laura Shortway, whose 17-year-old daughter, Mallory, is a drummer in the band. "Having bake sales keeps these fundraisers community based, which is very appealing to the person making the purchase."One loophole in Connecticut: The nutritional standards apply if the food is being sold at a bake sale, but not if it's being given away free, such as by a parent for a child's birthday."If a mom wants to send in cupcakes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, that would not be subject to the state guidelines," said Thomas Murphy, a spokesman for the state's education department.Hmmmmm.....no more"Let them eat cakes"the "Queen" has spoken?Read the full story here.

  • U.S. May Appeal Sugar Beet Crop Destruction Order. The U.S. may appeal a court order requiring the destruction of sugar beet crops engineered to be resistant to Monsanto Co.’s herbicide Roundup, according to a court filing. The U.S. Justice Department said it is seeking the Solicitor General’s permission to appeal a Dec. 1 order by a San Francisco federal judge in a lawsuit brought by organic farmers and a food safety group. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White found that “plaintiffs have made a strong showing that they and the environment are likely to suffer irreparable harm if this court does not issue an injunction.” He put his order on hold to allow an appeal to be filed by Dec. 7. The use of seeds engineered to resist St. Louis-based Monsanto’s weed killer was deregulated by the Bush administration’s U.S. Agriculture Department five years ago, according to court filings. Today more than 90 percent of the U.S. sugar beet crop comes from the genetically engineered seeds.Hmmm....don't you feel safe taking that extra spoon of sugar in your cup?Read the full story here.

  • How Islam Creates Terrorists, and How to Defeat Them. There are three myths about terrorists that must be corrected if we are to battle terrorism effectively, according to Col. Matt Venhaus: that Muslim youth become terrorists for economic reasons; that they become terrorists primarily for religious reasons; and that they are recruited by al-Qaeda.Contrary to conventional wisdom, terrorists are not motivated by poverty; they do not turn to violence in a fit of religious fervor; and al-Qaeda does not actively recruit them–they go looking for al-Qaeda, according to Venhaus.“If you understand the phenomenon incorrectly then your solution’s going to be wrong,” Venhaus said at panel Dec. 2 at the Heritage Foundation on the role of psychological operations (PSYOP) in strategic communication in warfare. Venhaus, currently at the Department of Defense, spent a year interviewing more than 2,000 “foreign fighters” to determine the reasons young Muslim men were turning to terrorism in such large numbers. In his words, if putting a bomb in your underwear and getting on a plane is the answer, “then what in the heck is the question?”Venhaus found that Muslim youth were primarily acting out a need to control their environment–their strict Muslim lifestyles gave them few options to vent the pent-up energy bred by such structured, in many cases suffocating, lives.Read the full story here.

  • UPDATE: “Police State” episode of hit Ventura show covering FEMA camps pulled from air. This is an update on the now-confirmed bizarre cancellation of the “Police State” FEMA camp episode from TruTV’s schedule, which is we now know is due to background pressure.Alex Jones, a consultant to the show who appears in “Police State”, noticed three weeks ago that the episode was scheduled to air before the then-newest episode on Fridays at 10 PM EST / 9 PM CST. Alex knew that encore episodes were consistently replayed over-and-over prior to brand new Friday premiere episodes, so red flags went up when it did not re-air like all the others. Now that more inconsistencies have been documented, Alex made some phone calls to get to the bottom of the matter. This morning, Alex spoke with Gov. Jesse Ventura and discovered that he was fully aware of the fact that “Police State” had been pulled due to pressure from within the government. The former Minnesota governor and star of the show indicated that he’s not ready to make a full statement yet as he’s still investigating the details and talking with network execs. However, Ventura urged that people have a right as citizens to contact TruTV and let them know that they want to see it back on air.Whatever the full cause of the behind-the-scenes pressure, it is clear that the government does not want audiences discussing FEMA camps and Fusion Centers or looking up H.R. 645, the bill named and read in the episode that authorizes FEMA emergency centers. Alex has done all he can to make sure the TruTV series is packed with hard-hitting facts and full of real, substantial issues. Though the show employs the dramatic techniques used throughout TV land, this is not the typical fluff. People had better understand that these are truly groundbreaking shows that are discussing damning evidence that the establishment doesn’t want sinking into the minds of a mainstream audience. Who knows if tonight’s water episode investigating lithium, uranium and fluoride being added to drinking water as a means of population control will itself even air or be replayed after the fact.Lovers of liberty and supporters of Conspiracy Theory had better cue their DVRs and other recorders and save the episode for good, because with the censorship we’ve already seen, it is difficult to know how long this program will remain on air, or which episodes will be allowed to repeat.Alex Jones, a consultant to TruTV’s Conspiracy Theory, can confirm that the controversial episode “Police State,” which dealt with FEMA camps and fusion centers, has been pulled from air and essentially “memory-holed” due to behind the scenes pressure.Hmmm....resistance is useless?Read the full story here.

  • HT:BacktoBasics.President runs to Afghanistan to escape U.S. economic woes, say critics. In the immediate aftermath of hearing the new and disappointing Labor Department jobs numbers — unemployment rose to 9.8 percent for the month of November and 15.2 million Americans are unemployed — President Barack Obama took an unscheduled trip to the Afghan front of the Global War on Terrorism.Seeking to maintain his posture as a wartime president in the face of domestic turmoil and economic uncertainty, Obama told U.S. servicemembers at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan today that their bravery, resolve, expertise and commitment proves that America’s best days lie ahead.Obama thanked American military and civilian personnel for their sacrifices during a visit to the headquarters of Regional Command East, as well. That command, built around the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division, is responsible for some of the most dangerous and deadly territories in Afghanistan.Critics of both Obama’s terror war strategy and his in ability to stimulate a dragging economy at home claim Obama’s Afghan trip was unnecessary and calculated to make him look presidential in spite of the many failures endured by his administration.“If the President really cared about our warfighters and not his own image, he would have visited the troops closer to Christmas or at least New Year’s Eve. This wasn’t anything more than a ‘get outa town’ visit so the simpleminded within the news media would help Obama to salvage some credibility,” said former military intelligence officer and police detective Mike Snopes.“This is a cynical and cunning administration more concerned with its own survival than the welfare and liberty of the American people,” said Snopes.”When in political trouble, you can always count on leftist presidents to suddenly become warriors.”Hmmmm....He even doesn't have time to play golf anymore ...poor guy.Read the full story here.

  • Arrest Warrant for "Sex Crimes" Against Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Is for "Sex Without a Condom", NOT Non-Consensual Rape Using Force.Interpol has issued an arrest warrant for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange for "sex crimes".Everyone assumed it was for rape. But it turns out it was for violating an obscure Swedish law against having sex without a condom.Today, a former attorney for Assange - James D. Catlin - has confirmed that the charges are for having sex without using a condom. He notes that:The consent of both women to sex with Assange has been confirmed by prosecutors. He also accuses the prosecutors of "making it up as they go along", and said that Sweden's justice system is destined to become "the laughingstock of the world" for pursuing the case against Assange. And Assange's current London attorney - Mark Stephens - told AOL news that he doesn't even know what the charges against Assange are, but that they are not rape:Stephens, told AOL News today that Swedish prosecutors told him that Assange is wanted not for allegations of rape, as previously reported, but for something called "sex by surprise," which he said involves a fine of 5,000 kronor or about $715.Hmmmm...."to wear or not to wear, that is the question"?Read the full story here.

  • HT:Wired.Feds Warrantlessly Tracking Americans’ Credit Cards in Real Time.Federal law enforcement agencies have been tracking Americans in real-time using credit cards, loyalty cards and travel reservations without getting a court order, a new document released under a government sunshine request shows. The document, obtained by security researcher Christopher Soghoian, explains how so-called “Hotwatch” orders allow for real-time tracking of individuals in a criminal investigation via credit card companies, rental car agencies, calling cards, and even grocery store loyalty programs. The revelation sheds a little more light on the Justice Department’s increasing power and willingness to surveil Americans with little to no judicial or Congressional oversight.Hmmm.....big Obama at work?Read the full story here.

  • Is An Apocalyptic Vision Driving Al-Qaeda's Quest For The Bomb?Do we "get" Al-Qaeda and its goals? Nearly a decade after the 9/11 attacks, a succession of less spectacular but nonetheless traumatic subsequent outrages, and a bloody and expensive "war on terror" that has extracted a fearful price in life and treasure in Iraq and Afghanistan, it seems hard to accept that there could be any misunderstanding or underestimation of the threat posed. Yet Rolf Mowatt-Larssen, who headed the Central Intelligence Agency's counterterrorism weapons of mass destruction (WMD) department during President George W. Bush's administration, thinks that may be happening. Now a senior fellow at Harvard University's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Mowatt-Larssen has become increasingly pre-occupied by a recurring nightmare -- of a nuclear-armed Al-Qaeda.A year of close study of the pronouncements of Al-Qaeda's leader, Osama bin Laden, and particularly those of his deputy, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, has convinced him that acquiring an atomic bomb, or a device of comparable destructiveness, is definitely the group's mission. The purpose, he says, is not that of deterrence, defense, or even straightforward military attack. The Islamist group seeks nothing less than the apocalyptic goal of transforming the planet to usher in a new dawn of Islamic-ruled social justice in place of the "American-Zionist conspiracy," which, according to Al-Qaeda, currently prevails. At the core of Mowatt-Larssen's conviction -- set out in a recent article in "Foreign Policy" magazine and a longer piece for the Belfer Center -- are arguments advanced by Zawahiri in a 2008 book, "Exoneration." In it, Zawahiri repeated approvingly the words of a fatwa pronounced in 2003 by a radical Muslim cleric, Nasir al-Fahd, which is widely seen as a trail-blazing religious treatise endorsing the use of WMD.Fahd's fatwa, which Mowatt-Larssen says was originally commissioned by Zawahiri, makes three leading arguments for using the weapons, including the particularly callous one that women and children "may be killed as collateral" if "one cannot distinguish them [from the main fighters]."Even more chillingly, Zawahiri quotes Fahd in writing: "If a bomb were dropped on them, destroying 10 million of them and burning as much of their land as they have burned of Muslim land, that would be permissible without any need to mention any other proof." There could be no more explicit evidence, in Mowatt-Larssen's view, of Zawahiri and Al-Qaeda's determination to get their hands on a nuclear bomb.Read the full story here.

  • Now my life is at risk, says WikiLeaks chief ... and he promises to publish files on UFOs and aliens. He first sparked fury by publishing U.S. army logs from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that suggested soldiers were complicit in murder and torture. Then this week he disclosed around 250,000 cables from U.S. embassies, many containing sensitive information and embarrassing verdicts on leaders including David Cameron. One senior American politician, Mike Huckabee, called for whoever leaked the documents to be executed. The leading suspect is Bradley Manning, a 23-year-old U.S. Army intelligence analyst who is now in military custody.During an online question and answer session on The Guardian’s website, Mr Assange said: ‘The threats against our lives are a matter of public record, however, we are taking the appropriate precautions to the degree that we are able when dealing with a superpower.’In a clear warning to the authorities, he said the leaked American diplomatic cables, along with ‘significant material from the U.S. and other countries’, had been copied to more than 100,000 people in code.If something happens to us, the key parts will be released automatically,’ he said.In a fresh twist, Mr Assange, who is in hiding somewhere near London, pledged to publish leaked diplomat cables relating to flying saucers.Read the full story here.

  • HT:NewsRealBlog.Soccer World Cup 2022: FIFA Embraces Qatar’s Polygamy and Anti-Semitism.The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) decided on December 2, 2010, to give the 2022 soccer World Cup to Qatar. Qatar is not known for soccer. Rather it is known for supporting, spreading, printing, airing and distributing hatred, bigotry, anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, and Islamism in all its forms. Giving a regime like that in Qatar the second most important international event worldwide (after the Olympic Games) is a tremendously important decision. A good decision for anti-Semites and women’s rights abusers: spreading anti-Semitism and Islamism counts! The octopus has long been an anti-Semitic symbol. It is widely used as a metaphor for organizations and governments with wide control. This association has been particularly assigned to the idea of a global Jewish conspiracy, most notable with the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. The false notion is that Jews, in an organized manner, extend their tentacles, or control, around the world.A country which allows such cartoons to be printed in their dailies has no right to host any international event. A country like Qatar should be isolated until its current leaders are gone and democracy, human rights and universalism is on its way.Qatar is world-infamous for hosting one of the most influential Sunni Islamists, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, too. Qaradawi has resided in Qatar since the early 1960s.Anti-Semitism on Arab media: the popular Qatari TV channel Al-Jazeera is still used as a venue for blatant anti-Semitism. The reputable cleric Sheikh Yussuf al-Qardawi presents the conflict with Israel as a campaign between Islam and the Jews and says that Jews should be killed, citing a well-known Islamic tradition.Hmmmm....why choose Qatar in gods name?Read the full story here.
