  • Left-Wing Crazies Take Their Turn. The One Nation rally Saturday fell far short of Glenn Beck’s march, in terms of numbers and enthusiasm, but John Avlon, author of Wingnuts: How the Lunatic Fringe is Hijacking America, reports that it mirrored it in one key way: plenty of wingnuts. The stated intention of the One Nation rally was to promote an “antidote” rather than just a left-wing “alternative to the Tea Party,” according to NAACP President Benjamin Jealous. The reality fell far short of that unifying goal.Instead, the rally offered a snapshot of the fragile coalition that is the contemporary far left—a dizzying array of activist organizations and identity politics, with financial muscle provided by the labor unions who bused their members in.The curious migration of anti-Semitism to the left was evident in signs that read “End All U.S. Aid to the Racist State of Israel” and “Fund Jobs, Not Israel.” I cringed as these marchers crowded past a group of World War II vets from Columbus, Ohio, being wheeled to their war memorial as part of the excellent “Honor Flight” program.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Serbian Patriarch Enthroned In Kosovo Church Amid Tight Security.Thousands of faithful Serbs gathered in the Kosovo town of Pec to attend the enthroning ceremony of the head of Serbia's Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej. The 80-year-old Patriarch Irinej succeeded Pavle after his death in November 2009. The first part of the two-stage enthronement ceremony took place in Belgrade in January. The ceremony, attended by Serbian President Boris Tadic and other high-ranking officials, is the first of its kind in the ethnic-Albanian-dominated town of Pec since Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in February 2008.Security was tight as around 900 Kosovo police were deployed around the church's picturesque mountain location, said Amra Zejneli, an RFE/RL correspondent in Kosovo.NATO-led peacekeepers and the European Union's police mission were alongside local police forces to ensure security."According to the police, around 2,500 pilgrims came from Serbia to witness the ceremony," Zejneli said. "Also, Serbians from central Kosovo arrived in several buses. Some people also came from Montenegro.""Outside the church, there is a big plasma screen, where people can see what's going on inside the church. You can see various people here, some very very old, some middle-aged, and some very young," Zejneli said.Irinej arrived in Pec on October 2. He urged both ethnic Serbs and ethnic Albanians to find a solution to Kosovo's contested status. These are "very, very difficult times" for Serbia, the patriarch said.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:AmericanThinker. We Allow Them to Blackmail Us -- Islam vs. the West. The Muslim world does not have to fire a single shot; the Western world is capitulating to the Islamists' every demand. Three recent events show the continuing and relentless interplay among Islamists worldwide. The latest assault is playing out in Spain. La Meca, a popular "discotheque in southern Spain, has agreed to change its name and architectural design" because of pressure from Islamic extremists who find the name of the discotheque and its design "offensive and insulting to their religion."Bat Ya'or explains that this "tacit, non-comprehended acceptance of shariah's dictates" in essence "puts the Western public sphere in the position of conforming to one of the basic rules of dhimmitude: the express prohibition of Christians and Jews to criticize Islamic history and doctrine."We must identify, recognize and defeat every facet of shariah's designs and the people who promulgate it. We must begin to educate ourselves about this existential threat.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Michelle Obama threatens to divorce Barack Obama if he tries to seek second term.Michelle Obama has threatened to divorce Barack Obama if he tries to seek a second term as president. That is the report according to well-placed and insider sources from the National Enquirer, who work in the nation’s capital. This report of strife and all-out threat-making in the Obamas’ marriage is not the first time that reports have arisen, which detail that not everything is well in Obamaland. Earlier this year, reports emerged that Barack Obama himself—also known by liberals everywhere as either "The Messiah" or "The One"—had engaged in a sordid affair with none other than a former campaign aide by the name of Vera Baker. While there have only been reports of said alleged affair, if true, it would mean that the apple did not fall far from the tree, seeing as how Barack Obama Senior (anti-colonial socialist that he was) had many affairs himself.According to the Enquirer’s reporting, the Obamas’ marital spat happened just recently, after they had returned with their little daughters in tow from their "well-deserved" vacation on Martha’s Vineyard (during which time America continued to suffer from double-digit unemployment, uncontrolled illegal immigrants encroaching into the country, and increasing, rising costs of health care insurance). During their spat, Michelle was reported to have broken down in tears—so fed up was she with Barack—and climaxed the quarrel by screaming, "I hate you for dragging me through all this…I’ve had enough!"If this report accurately details what occurred between the Obamas, then sympathy is in order for Michelle. After all, poor baby, she has had it really hard considering all those lavish trips to Spain for vacation (while many Americans struggled with double-digit unemployment stateside), volunteering at food banks while wearing her ultra-trendy $540 dollar sneakers (while more Americans continue stopping looking for work), and defaming America as a mean country!Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Why some fear China and India are on the road to war. When Manmohan Singh warned of China's "new assertiveness" last week, Asia watchers snapped to attention. The normally sage Indian prime minister accused Beijing of seeking to expand its reach in South Asia. With China muscling for resources and geopolitical clout, India, he warned, had better take heed. The timing of the rare public rebuke was especially provocative, as it came hot on the heels of a series of diplomatic flare-ups between the two giants. Temperatures on the continent are rising in step with the Asian rivals' growth.Last month, China denied a visa to an Indian general on the grounds he was based in disputed Jammu and Kashmir. That was retaliation, experts figure, for India's earlier denial of a visa to a senior Chinese diplomat. China has, for more than a year, been angering India by refusing to issue normal visas to residents of Indian Kashmir. It is also stoking Indian fears of being encircled by a Chinese infrastructure build-up in northern Pakistan, and Indian Ocean port and rail developments in Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Last month, India's excitable media seized on reports that China has stationed as many as 11,000 troops in northern Pakistan, feeding growing fears of the "Chinese dragon." For now, a planned defence exchange between the two has been halted at New Delhi's behest. To many Chinese, according to a recent opinion poll, India remains a backward country, teeming with "poor, homeless people," not a rising giant. Their mutual incomprehension does little to build friendships. To Caron, there's nothing new or noteworthy about China and India's cat-and-mouse game--"they've been at it for 300 years." Certainly none of it signals a march to war. Bad as it may seem, Beijing and Delhi are also sitting down for their 14th round of border talks, and recently orchestrated a joint walkout at the Copenhagen Climate Conference. The outside world's interest does, however, serve to underscore the immense and growing power of the Asian rivals. Even five years ago, this odd little spat would have drawn a yawn from the West.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:BacktoBasics.Supremes get case against ‘putative’ President Obama Petition.‘There exists possibility that he could be an illegal alien’.A petition for writ of certiorari has been filed with the high court in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision to uphold the dismissal of a case brought by attorney Mario Apuzzo on behalf of Charles F. Kerchner Jr., Lowell T. Patterson, Darrell James Lenormand and Donald H. Nelsen Jr.Named as defendants are Barack Hussein Obama II, the U.S., Congress, the Senate, the House of Representatives, former Vice President Dick Cheney and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The case alleges Congress failed to follow the Constitution, which “provides that Congress must fully qualify the candidate ‘elected’ by the Electoral College Electors.”The trial court rejected the case based on issues of “standing” and never addressed the core issues presented. The appellate court did the same. Now Apuzzo has escalated the issue to the highest court in the land, suggesting that “the constitutional issue … cannot be decided by the political parties and a voting majority. Our nation is ultimately guided by the Constitution and the rule of law, not by majority rule. Allowing the political parties and the voting majorities to decide constitutional issues would be tantamount to amending the Constitution without going through the amendment process prescribed by Article V of the Constitution and abandoning the basic principles of republican government.”In an announcement about the filing, Apuzzo said Obama not only has not proven, as required under the Constitution, his status as a “natural born citizen,” but “he has hidden all his early life records including his original long-form birth certificate, early school records, college records, travel and passport records needed to prove he is even a born citizen of the United States.”His case argues, essentially, that even if Obama was born in Hawaii as he claims, he still fails to reach the Constitution’s mandated eligibility requirement. And it could be even worse.“Surely the Constitution would not leave someone like the petitioners without any remedy to protect the same rights which the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution recognize as their unalienable rights to life, liberty, and property,” the petition states. The petition explains the nation’s Founders required the “natural born citizen” status “to provide a ‘strong check’ on foreign influence making its way into our government and specifically in the office of president and commander in chief of the military.”The Supreme Court previously has rejected out of hand a series of filings regarding Obama’s eligibility, but most of them were filed under an “emergency” procedure that approached the high court before having worked their way through the trial court and appellate court processes. There was no immediate word whether the Supreme Court would accept the Kerchner case. The petition also seeks the recusal of justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, who have been appointed by Obama, as having potential conflicts since Obama’s eligibility ultimately could impact their own jobs.Justice Clarence Thomas, in an appearance before Congress, previously said the court has been “evading” the Obama eligibility issue.I salute the defendants! • British schools where girls must wear the Islamic veil. Hundreds of girls are bring forced by British schools to wear the Islamic veil in a move which has been heavily criticised by mainstream Muslims.Islamic schools have introduced uniform policies which force girls to wear the burka or a full headscarf and veil known as the niqab.Moderate followers of Islam said yesterday that enforcement of the veil was a "dangerous precedent" and that children attending such schools were being "brainwashed".Critics warned that the spectacle of burka-clad pupils entering and leaving the schools at the start and end of the day could damage relations between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.Ed Husain, co-director of Quilliam, the counter-extremist think-tank, said: "It is absurd that schools are enforcing this outdated ritual – one that which sends out a damaging message that Muslims do not want to fully partake in British society. He added: "The enforcing of the niqab on young girls is not a mainstream Islamic practice – either in Britain or in most Muslim-majority countries."It is a desert practice which belongs to another century and another world." Dr Taj Hargey, an imam and chairman of the Muslim Educational Trust of Oxford, said: "This is very disturbing and sets a dangerous precedent. "It means that Muslim children are being brainwashed into thinking they must segregate and separate themselves from mainstream society."The use of taxpayers' money for such institutions should be absolutely opposed. The wearing of the burka or niqab is a tribal custom and these garments are not even mentioned in the Koran."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Lethal Engagement: Barack Hussein Obama, the United Nations and Radical Islam. What The Mainstream Press Neglected To Tell You About The United Nations Summit.Nevertheless, the OIC’s Secretary General Ihsanoglu most likely made President Obama’s day. Ihsanoglu told reporters that the OIC was delighted with Obama’s position towards Israel. He also said in a speech last week at the UN to the OIC’s foreign ministers that “we have achieved a breakthrough in our relations with the United States…the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton paid an unprecedented visit to the OIC headquarters in Jeddah at the head of a group of senior U.S. officials, noticeable among them is the Special Envoy of President Barack Obama to the OIC. “Thus, Obama’s policy of aggressive engagement with the Muslim world appears to be paying off - for the 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Conference. • America on the brink of a Second Revolution. What’s distinctive about the Tea Party is its anarchist streak -- its antagonism toward any authority, its belligerent self-expression, and its lack of any coherent program or alternative to the policies it condemns,” warns Jacob Weisberg in Newsweek. But why not three cheers for the Tea Party Express? Admit it, something historic is brewing. And yes, it’s good for America, even the anarchy. Revolution is renewal. Tea-baggers want to take on both parties, “restore honor” and “take back the country.” Bring it on, the feeling’s mutual.OK, maybe most Americans just silently mimic the words, “we’re mad as hell, won’t take it any more.” But watch out: After November the campaign’s shrill rhetoric explodes into action.Tea-baggers are kicking the revolution into high gear. Debt is sinking America. Both parties are to blame. So vote out incumbents. Spare no one. We need new leadership, another Reagan or Truman. Congress better get the message: Cut that budget, or they’ll dump the rest of you in the coming Great Purge of 2012.Unfortunately they’re tone deaf. Congress cannot see past the election. All that changes in November.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:WND.Fort Hood soldiers told to list private weapons.Base requires make, model, serial number and who owns them. But a soldier on base who contacted WND regarding the demand for information about off-base weapons said that's not the way it was presented to soldiers. "At the end of the day formation … we were all required to state whether we owned a firearm. Then those that owned firearms were required to have their names put on a watch list that included registration status of the firearms and where the firearms were kept," wrote the soldier, who asked for anonymity to avoid retaliation. "The list included those … who live off post in privately owned homes," the soldier confirmed. "I feel like I have been violated and my 2nd Amendment rights infringed," the soldier wrote. "Last year Homeland Security said that veterans are a potential threat to the country, now I and many others in my unit are on a watch list because we own guns."The action recalls similar disclosure demands on which WND has previously reported at Fort Bliss in Texas and Fort Campbell in Kentucky.Second Amendment advocates have been alarmed, since President Obama took office, by a series of actions, including his advocacy of an international treaty that could require those who reload their ammunition to obtain federal permits.WND also reported when the Department of Homeland Security issued a report titled "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," that stated, "Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists." • HT:Tundratabloids.Geert Wilders speech in Berlin.Geert Wilders speech given in Berlin at the Freiheit party (Freedom party) speaking event on 2.10.2010Dear Friends, I am very happy to be here in Berlin today. As you know, the invitation which my friend René Stadtkewitz extended to me, has cost him his membership of the CDU group in the Berlin Parliament. René, however, did not give in to the pressure. He did not betray his convictions. His dismissal prompted René to start a new political party.I wish him all the best. As you may have heard, the past weeks were extremely busy for me. Earlier this week we succeeded in forging a minority government of the Liberals and the Christian-Democrats which will be supported by my party. This is an historic event for the Netherlands. I am very proud of having helped to achieve this. At this very moment the Christian-Democrat Party conference is deciding whether or not to approves this coalition. If they do, we will be able to rebuild our country, preserve our national identity and offer our children a better future.Today I am here, however, to warn you for looming disunity. Germany’s national identity, its democracy and economic prosperity, is being threatened by the political ideology of Islam. In 1848, Karl Marx began his Communist Manifesto with the famous words: “A specter is haunting Europe – the specter of communism.” Today, another specter is haunting Europe. It is the specter of Islam. This danger, too, is political. Islam is not merely a religion, as many people seem to think: Islam is mainly a political ideology. This insight is not new.I quote from the bestselling book and BBC television series The Triumph of the West which the renowned Oxford historian J.M. Roberts wrote in 1985: “Although we carelessly speak of Islam as a ‘religion’; that word carries many overtones of the special history of western Europe. The Muslim is primarily a member of a community, the follower of a certain way, an adherent to a system of law, rather than someone holding particular theological views.” The Flemish Professor Urbain Vermeulen, the former president of the European Union of Arabists and Islamicists, too, points out that “Islam is primarily a legal system, a law,” rather than a religion. The American political scientist Mark Alexander writes that “One of our greatest mistakes is to think of Islam as just another one of the world’s great religions. We shouldn’t. Islam is politics or it is nothing at all, but, of course, it is politics with a spiritual dimension, … which will stop at nothing until the West is no more, until the West has … been well and truly Islamized.”These are not just statements by opponents of Islam. Islamic scholars say the same thing. There cannot be any doubt about the nature of Islam to those who have read the Koran, the Sira and the Hadith. Abul Ala Maududi, the influential 20th century Pakistani Islamic thinker, wrote – I quote, emphasizing that these are not my words but those of a leading Islamic scholar – “Islam is not merely a religious creed [but] a revolutionary ideology and jihad refers to that revolutionary struggle … to destroy all states and governments anywhere on the face of the earth, which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam.”Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Pakistan Muslim Militants Kill Christian Family, Attack Pastor.Suspected Islamic militants shot and killed a Christian lawyer, his wife and their five children in northwestern Pakistan, just days after a pastor nearly died in a seperate attack linked to Muslim extremism, local Christians and rights activists said. The victim and his wife Ruby Paul, along with their five children ages 6 to 17, had been shot to death, he said. "On September 28 at around 8 a.m., we received a call from Sher Khan colony that people heard gunshots, and there was a group of people who ran from a house and drove away," Khan said. "We went and found seven bodies in a house."Paul’s Muslim neighbor, Mushtaq Khan, told reporters a group of armed men had threatened the lawyer the previous day. "On Monday a group of armed men stopped Paul and took him by the collar and said, ‘Leave the town in 24 hours – we know how to throw out Christians, we will not allow even a single Christian to live here. We will hang them all in the streets, so that no Christian would ever dare to enter the Hazara land."ICC’s Regional Manager for South Asia, Jonathan Racho, said his group is "deeply concerned with the ongoing attacks" against Christians in Pakistan. "We urge Pakistani officials to ensure the rights of Christian minorities in the country to worship freely."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • One Nation Rally was a big flop. The October 2, 2010, One Nation Rally, held at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, in Washington, D.C., can be summed up in three words: complain, complain, complain. The rally appeared more like a contest, to see which special interest group can outdo the other as the biggest victim of society. The One Nation Rally, had sparse crowds, empty seats in the front of the podium, and people roaming around that held little interest in the speakers. In fact, several speakers attempted to provoke the audience to chant a slogan, only to fail in embarrassment. Even the great orator, Jesse Jackson, failed to whip the crowd up to chant his famous: “Keep Hope Alive” slogan. The audience of the October 2, One Nation Rally, had a crowd full of angry faces, that never challenged the individual to do more, but instead, they challenged their nation to give them more. With all the members of the teachers union crying out for more money and higher salaries, you would of thought at least one of those teachers, could of stood up at the podium, and recited a speech from a famous Democratic President, that said: “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.”Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • More veiled controversy: Two Egyptian universities restrict veiled professors.Reflecting ongoing controversy in the Middle East regarding female dress, two prominent Egyptian universities announced upcoming bans on professors teaching while wearing the face veil or niqaab. Yesterday, Ain Shams and Fayoum Universities in the Cairo area warned female faculty that the new measures would take effect during the current academic year. The Egyptian bans follow last year’s prohibitions against veiled students taking exams (and possibly using their apparel to cheat). The new measure is yet to be approved by Egypt’s University Council and the Higher Council of Universities, but is expected to take effect during the current academic year.“Fully veiled professors are not going to be banned from working at the university--They will only not be allowed to teach," explained Ain Shams University President Dr. Maged al-Deeb. In Yemen, for example, female candidates for teaching positions at the two leading English-language institutes in Sana’a are told that full-face veils are forbidden because they are “not conducive to teaching pronunciation and listening comprehension.”Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

The purpose of the IICO, as described by Al-Qaradawi, is “first and foremost goal was practical resistance to the frenzied wave of Christianization within the Muslim world” by which Al-Qaradawi means spread of Islam as seen by the Muslim Brotherhood.Nor are there any “direct” links involving Bosnia’s Chief Imam Ceric so the Western insistence that Ceric should be prefixed with the misleading attribute of “moderate” may be Washington’s expression of gratitude for keeping his Islamic terror links “indirect”.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Nobel experts predict low-key prize after Obama.Jurors singled out Obama's efforts to heal the divide between the West and the Muslim world and scale down a Bush-era proposal for an anti-missile shield in Europe.Too soon, said critics. A Gallup poll shortly after Obama won the award in October found 61 percent of Americans did not believe he deserved it. People were split along partisan lines on whether they were happy for him.China has said giving the prize to a Chinese dissident would harm relations between Norway and China, but Lundestad dismissed the warning, saying the committee is independent from the Norwegian government. As always Lundestad declined to comment on nominations but said that over time the committee seeks to achieve a certain geographical balance and make an effort to find female candidates. Of the 97 peace laureates to date, only 12 have been women.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Canadian defence Min MacKay shuts down Islamic group speech.Defence Minister Peter MacKay has vetoed the speech from a controversial Islamic group because of its "extremist views."Imam Dr. Zijad Delic, the national executive director of the Canadian Islamic Congress, was to speak at an internal event at Department of National Defence headquarters Monday.A spokesman for MacKay said when the minister learned of the CIC's participation in the Islamic Heritage Month event, he pulled the plug "based on extremist views promulgated by the Canadian Islamic Congress.""The Canadian Islamic Congress has declared that Israelis over the age of 18 are legitimate targets of suicide bombers," wrote Jay Paxton, MacKay's director of communications, in an e-mail. "These types of comments don't support Islamic Heritage, they simply divide Canadians, promulgate hate and they have no place in Monday's celebrations."Charles McVety, who heads up the right-wing Institute of Canadian Values, issued a statement Friday saying Delic's invitation to speak is an insult to the Canadian Forces soldiers who have died in Afghanistan."This will shock the conscience of Canadians of good faith, dismay military families whose children have made the supreme sacrifice, and undermine the credibility and morale of our armed services in the eyes of allies and enemies alike," McVety said in the statement on the association's website.Hooray for Canada!Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:AmericanThinker.A Clear Danger: Obama, a 'Living Constitution,' and 'Positive Rights'.I think it's safe to say that President Obama is not exactly fond of the United States Constitution as written. That statement is based on Mr. Obama's own words and his choice of nominees to the federal bench.Mr. Obama the activist-turned-politician has always been shrewd about hiding his far-left philosophy from the general public, whether by voting "present" or by speaking in abstract language. Of course, Obama, like most people, cannot completely hide his worldview. Thankfully, we have record of a few of his unguarded moments from which his radical views have escaped.Mr. Obama correctly (and painfully) refers to the Constitution as a "charter of negative liberties," as "interpreted."So far, the Senate has confirmed 41 of Obama's nominees, leaving 104 federal judgeships open. Presently, a battle over five of Obama's nominees known as the "fringe five" is being fought by Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Connie Hair writes that these "candidates ... have once been returned to the President as unacceptable. Each of these controversial nominees was passed out of committee but are so controversial that President Obama and Democrat leaders have avoided discussing them in public."Certainly, the "fringe five" symbolize Mr. Obama's judicial philosophy, and yet any one of his high-ranking nominees, if scratched, would bleed a leftist worldview. Of all the president's radicals, let's focus on just one of the fringe nominees, Goodwin Liu, because his writings mirror exactly what Obama was getting to in his WBEZ-FM interview. In other words, Liu is a "living Constitution" theorist who, like Obama, uses conservative-sounding words to support his radical positions. A Constitution that is interpreted by a few robe-wearing elitists "in a way that adapts its principles" is effectively no Constitution at all. After many decades of "living Constitution" interpretation, the people have already lost much of their Constitution to leftist judges. And now, the elitist establishment is positioning itself for its next break from the constraints.Mr. Obama is a constitutional deconstructionist on steroids, and the damage he will wreak in four years of judicial appointments should not be underestimated.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:BacktoBasics.Democrats give Obama secrecy for intelligence.House Democrats on Thursday gave in to Obama administration secrecy demands and softened legislation that would have required broader notification of Congress about secret intelligence operations — part of the first intelligence bill likely to become law in six years. The deal means the president can continue to restrict briefings about these programs to just a handful of lawmakers, known as the “Gang of Eight” — chairman and ranking members of House and Senate oversight committees and senior leaders. The bill also includes provisions that would allow declassification of the total annual U.S. intelligence budget, and would require reports to Congress about cost overruns in major secret acquisition programs. The authorization bill would give the director of national intelligence powers to launch reviews into errors or misconduct by intelligence officials, and could open the door to a new role for intelligence oversight by congressional investigators in Government Accountability Office.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Stuxnet Malware Mystery Deepens: Another Hint Of Israeli Origins. It's like a 21st-century version of a John Le Carre novel, in which all the dashing spies have been replaced by computer geeks. The mystery continues to deepen over the origin of one of the world's most damaging computer viruses -- Stuxnet -- which some experts believe is targeted at Iran's nuclear power plants, slowing that country's quest for a nuclear weapon. On Tuesday, a German computer specialist offered a hint that Israel may be behind the sophisticated malware, by demonstrating that a file inside the code uses the word "Myrtus" -- which could be a reference to the Book of Esther, the Old Testament story about how the Jews prevented a nefarious plot by the Persians, according to the New York Times. The next day, a trio of security researchers offered another clue at a conference in Vancouver, describing how Stuxnet includes references to the 1979 execution of the leader of Iran's Jewish community at the time. Specifically, the researchers from Symantec -- Nicolas Falliere, Liam O Murchu and Eric Chen -- showed that the code includes a marker with the numbers "19790509" which, if prompted, stops the code from infecting a targeted.Read the full story here, full report from Symantec here.Click here for comments.

He faces a maximum sentence of 35 years in federal prison and a $1.25-million fine. His trial, which has been postponed several times, is scheduled for November if the judge doesn’t grant the government’s request.Prosecutors have refused to further explain the mysterious about face, but the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a national organization that serves as the U.S. front for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, has taken much of the credit. • HT:TheLastCrusades.Muslims responsible for over 5,000 murders on American soil.A study from Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill maintains that the terrorist threat posed by radical Islam has been greatly exaggerated. The study has captured front page headlines in Arab News and newspapers throughout the Muslim world.Charles Kurzman, one of the co-authors of the study, maintains that fewer than three dozen murders have been committed by American Muslims on American soil. What Kurzman fails to take into acount are the number of murders committed by non-American Muslims on American soil and the homicides perpetuated by members of the Nation of Islam. The actual figures show that Islamophobia is a justifiable stance since Muslims have been responsible for the murders of 5,000 Americans in the past fifty years. This number includes the nearly 3,000 Americans killed on 9/11 and the hundreds of victims of the so-called Zebra killings that took place in the 1970s.Kurzman and his crew also neglect to point out that the number of Muslims in America, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, is almost statistically insignificant. Of roughly 4.6 million Muslims in the Americas, more than half live in the United States and make up less than 0.8 percent of the population.Yet Muslims have wrecked more death and destruction on American soil than the combined toll of all political, social, and religious hate groups, including the Ku Klux Khan. The following is a very short list of incidents of Islamic violence that have taken place within America since 9/11.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • At Harvard, Groupthink About Islam (The appalling hypocrisy of Martin Peretz’s critics).Last Saturday, at a university-sponsored event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Harvard’s Committee on Degrees in Social Studies, a group of former students launched a research fund in honor of Martin Peretz, a former teacher in the program and the longtime editor in chief of the New Republic. After the event adjourned, the afternoon turned ugly as police had to protect Mr. Peretz while he walked across campus surrounded by a mob of screaming students. For that final sentence, Mr. Peretz apologized and sought atonement. Nonetheless, his column set off a firestorm. The Harvard Crimson reported over 500 protests against the honorary research fund by alumni, students and staff.Harvard accepted the money to create the fund. Yet a member of the Social Studies Standing Committee extolled the protest, while also declaring that everyone on the committee “was—without exception—appalled by Peretz’s comments.”Why not, then, organize an open forum where Mr. Peretz might engage with his critics? And had Obama stuck to the first sentence of his answer — “Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press” — he probably would have scored points on all sides.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.
