  • Imam Rauf: Building on Submission.I have to admit, I have a certain admiration for the Ground Zero mosque Imam, Feisal Rauf. Whether he’s telling the government that his wife’s apartment is a mosque that seats 500 in order to get religious tax exemptions or writing absolute lies and prevarication in Pravda-on-the-Hudson, in order to fool the gullible and disguise himself, I have to give him credit for utter shamelessness and sheer nerve. He then finishes with the final lie, that the word Islam “comes from the word cognate to shalom, which means peace in Hebrew.”Actually it doesn’t come from salaam, the Arab word for peace but from aslama, which means submission."
    And that’s very different.

  • Iranian Reactions To Koran Burning Plan.In a written statement, Golpaygani, who is a marja, or a Shi'ite source of emulation, warned against the consequences of burning the holy book of the Muslims:I along with 1.5 billion Muslims and true civilized people of the world condemn this spirit of savagery and denounce its great dangers for the humanity and ignition of the fire of great seditions, I warn the Pope and other Christian leaders that if such a gruesome and inhumane incident takes place in the U.S., we will hold the U.S. establishment and President Obama himself responsible and deserving to be put on trial. The pastor should be arrested immediately and his church should be shut down forever. And here is the reaction of blogger "Majma Divanegan" (Assembly of the Madmen or Lunatics) who writes that while Tehran seem to be outraged by the plans to burn the Koran, the rights of religious minorities namely the Bahai's are being violated in the Islamic Republic on a daily basis:Every year, every day, every moment, Baha'is in Iran are being harassed. The pressure on the Baha'is goes beyond burning books. No one here is surprised by the burning of the holy books of the Baha'is. Here it is a question of their life and death. The issue is the destruction of their cemeteries -- it has been taking place for the past 30 years without any [justice]. It seems that both in Iran and in the United States, there is only one religion that should not be insulted, its book should not be burned, one should not draw the cartoon of its prophet and one is not even allowed to make a small joke about it otherwise the world will face deadly consequences.I believe these phrases give a true reflection of what Islam stand for Nothing but "Submit or Perish"!Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

We don’t have documents showing the government was behind it, but all of these things need planning, heavy equipment, and government support."Nikoumanesh hopes to one day return to Ivel but knows the dangers she would face if she visited anytime soon. • HT:AmericanThinker. The Political Violence of the Bible and the Koran. One of the most frequently used arguments in the defense of Islam is that the Bible is just as violent as the Koran. The logic goes like this. If the Koran is no more violent than the Bible, then why should we worry about Islam? This argument suggests that Islam is the same as Christianity and Judaism. This is false, but the analogy is very popular since it allows someone who knows nothing about the actual doctrine of Islam to talk about it. "See, Islam is like Christianity; Christians are just as violent as Muslims." If this is true, then you don't have to learn anything about the actual Islamic doctrine. It is time for so-called intellectuals to get down to the basics of judging Islam by its actual doctrine, not making lame analogies that are sophomoric assertions. Fact-based reasoning should replace fantasies that are based upon political correctness and multiculturalism.Read the full story here.Click here for comments

  • Spotlight on November 2010: A candid talk with Allen West.Freelance writing doesn’t pay much, but a compensating benefit is the opportunity one finds to meet and speak with really interesting people. Florida District 22 Congressional candidate Lt. Col. Allen West (USA, Ret.) is one such person, and I interviewed him for this article recently.Col. West is one of the most promising candidates on the GOP horizon for this election. He is a genuine conservative, unafraid to speak his mind and more importantly, take action to demonstrate his commitment. His candidacy has gone national on the strength of his inspiring speeches like this one, this one, this great Tea Party speech here, or his challenge to Democrats here. • The Koran: Don’t burn it. Read it.By Michelle Malkin.Another interesting byproduct of this situation is once again the disconnect between the “Islam equals peace” rhetoric and the reality people see on a daily basis. If Islam is so peaceful and only a “tiny minority’ of Muslims are “violent extremists”, why do we constantly have to be so damn sensitive to pissing them off?But when it comes to cartoons or a bunch of loons (a true ‘tiny minority) burning some books, the world has to go on red alert if it involves Islam. Why is that exactly?Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • The "Hope and Change" guy has left the America People "hoping for change" in November.Obama begins this week as he ended the last; with bravado, excuses, and blame games. False claims, deceptions, and outright lies scroll liberally across his TelePrompTer, then roll from his disingenuous lips. Labor Day week is just another chance for him to make his case for more of his loony-leftist ideas to labor unions in hand-picked cities with high unemployment.Everything Obama says or does about the economy defies credulity. Furthermore, everything he does exacerbates the recession, unemployment, and the economy in general.Free enterprise and capitalism abhors Marxism, and Obama abhors free enterprise and capitalism.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Turkish news:Nuclear dangers and opportunities in the Middle East.On the level of responsible international behavior, it is disturbing because any non-defensive recourse to force violates international law and the UN Charter. Force is only lawful in international conflict situations if used as self-defense in response to a prior armed attack. The core Charter commitment in Article 2(4) prohibits threats as well as uses of force, and by that standard both Israel and the US must be counted as law breakers. This coming from a so called "NATO Partner"? • Go ahead and burn that Koran.Down in Gainesville, Florida, Rev. Terry Jones of the 50-member Dove World Outreach Center is going to burn copies of the Moslem Koran on Saturday, as he launches what he calls “International Burn a Koran Day” – on the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Before even striking the first match, the good Reverend has started an international firestorm among such disparate groups as leftists begging for tolerance of Moslem sensibilities and actual Moslems whose sensibilities command them to murder anyone trying to light one of their holy books. Here’s a suggestion to all you “tolerant” folks out there who are so quick to criticize Rev. Terry Jones: Get yourself a copy of the Holy Koran, and read it. Or, stop by the Louisville Examiner offices and we’ll lend you ours. • Ahmadinejad Encroaches On Supreme Leader's Foreign-Policy Turf.Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad's appointments of special envoys for foreign affairs is seen as a direct challenge to the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei."[Ahmadinejad] has demonstrated that he's not into making compromises, he's stubborn, obstinate, and persistent. I don't think he's going to back off or cooperate with other bodies in this regard."Nafisi, who believes "Ahmadinejad's persistence" has been a trademark of his presidency, says the Iranian president appears to be weighing his options."He only retracts if he feels that he cannot go any farther, like in the case of allowing women into soccer stadiums. When he saw the tremendous [backlash], he couldn't go forward anymore. He retreated," Nafisi says.Looking at the bigger picture, Nafisi says the combative Ahmadinejad is trying to distance himself from the clerical establishment and from Khameni, and to push for a new style of presidency with an eye to Iran's future presidential vote. The freedom riders ended their parade at Riverfront Park in Leavenworth for a daylong rally in support of 1Lt. Michael Behenna and the Leavenworth 10.As we near the ninth anniversary of 9/11 we continue to hear of the Uighurs who were released and relocated to Bermuda courtesy of the America taxpayer. No trials are scheduled for the mastermind of the bombing of the USS Cole or of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who boasts of responsibility for 9/11.
