  • Polarizer In Chief. The Presidency: If any doubts remain that President Obama isn't the "post-partisan" uniter as advertised, witness his oddly personal attack on House Minority Leader John Boehner last week.Acting more like a hired gun, the president stormed into Boehner's Ohio district to single out the Republican leader for rebuke, disparaging him as a country club elitist who cares only about "millionaires."He called Boehner out no fewer than 10 times during a speech to Democrat supporters, an extraordinary display of political trench warfare for a sitting president — especially one who's not even up for re-election.Here, Obama applies two of the late Chicago socialist Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals:" "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it," and "Ridicule the opposition." "Mr. Boehner," the target, should have gone off and "meditated" on his and his party's "mistakes," Obama snipes, instead of criticizing his own policies.Alinsky, who despised American capitalism, also advised community organizers like Obama to co-opt the middle class in their revolution to bring about "economic justice." If they could get the middle class, along with the poor, to envy the rich, they could control the largest voting bloc and seize all the power they'd need.Read the full Communist story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:AmericanThinker. What D'Souza Doesn't Get Quite Right.Dinesh D'Souza has long been one of America's shrewdest and bravest political observers. His much discussed Forbes article, "How Obama Thinks," a prelude to his forthcoming book, The Roots of Obama's Rage, burnishes that reputation. Indeed, Newt Gingrich describes D'Souza's thesis as the "most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama."In a critical but overlooked scene in Dreams, when Obama's Indonesian stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, asks his wife to meet some of "her own people" at the American oil company where he worked, she snaps at him, "They are not my people." Mom raised the young Obama to be wary of the "ugly Americans" in their midst. • Red Eye: You Can Have My Trans Fats When You Scrape Them Out of My Cold, Dead Arteries.Years ago, when I lived in upstate New York, I decided to quit smoking. Around the same time, I developed a craving for Buffalo wings. There was a great wing joint less than a mile away that delivered.I got fat. 25 wings, four or five times a week will do that to you.Sure, there were dietary charts and calorie counters, but did I read them? No. If only I’d been forced, against my own personal tastes and free will, to eat healthy I wouldn’t have been in that predicament.Thankfully, a young person today will never have to deal with the obesity problem in the future.Michelle Obama gave an impassioned speech to the National Restaurant Association on Monday about food, childhood obesity, and the need for the restaurant industry to do something about it.“Working with mayors and other local officials to make our cities and towns healthier.”Want to bet she hasn’t even called Mayor McCheese? In a related story, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) has come out with a public service announcement linking cheeseburgers to horrible, horrible death. How far will the current administration and the far Left nanny state agenda go? • HT:IsraelMatzav. In Iran's back pocket.Once upon a time, Turkey was an ally of the United States and of Israel. It still remains a member of NATO and still has aspirations to join the European Union. But Turkey is unlikely to be admitted to the EU and it may not be a member of NATO for too much longer if it keeps carrying on like this either. Why?Western diplomats now fear that the AKP's deal with Iran will heighten fears among Turkish secularists that Mr Erdogan will exploit the government's new powers to drive through the AKP's radical Islamic agenda.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Europe cools towards Obama, Turkey looks east. Most of the Europeans surveyed said they wanted the United States to exert strong leadership in world affairs, but fewer than half approved of how he was managing relations with Iran or how he was going about stabilising Afghanistan.Overall, the survey painted a picture of a broadly popular president, with 78 percent of Europeans approving of his leadership, down from 83 percent in 2009, but one whose skills were called into question on major policy decisions. The number who said Turkey should work most closely with countries in the Middle East on international matters, rather than with the United States or the EU, doubled to 20 percent in 2010, with only 6 percent saying Turkey should work with Washington.Among Turks, Obama's approval rating fell from 50 percent in 2009 to 28 percent in 2010.Compared to last year, Turks were less convinced that NATO is essential, less interested in joining the EU and less likely to say their country shares values with the West."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • 'Big Nanny' Michelle Obama lectures restaurants on food choices. In today's progressive-induced policing of every aspect of human life, from what we drive to what we eat, First Lady 'Big Nanny" Michelle Obama has taken it upon herself to lecture restaurants on food choices. She wants them to stop serving french fries and opt for carrots instead.Big Nanny's meddling in the private sector is just the latest example of the 'Big Brother' Nanny State being gradually implemented by the progressive movement, which has been accelerated under the regime of Barack Obama.First, Big Nanny needs to realize that it is not the goal of a restaurant to make sure citizens adhere to government-controlled diets. Their goal is to make a profit and survive as a business. How do they do this? By offering food people want to eat. Even Big Nanny's own husband, Big Brother Barack himself, regularly goes out for lunch at his favorite HAMBURGER joints. • Turkey: nation on a dual course.Turks took a step closer to Europe by voting for constitutional changes aimed at bringing the country into line with European standards of democracy. Yet it was also a massive show of confidence in an Islamic-rooted government whose closer ties with Iran and hostility toward Israel have caused dismay in the West. Its biggest city, İstanbul, spans the Asian and European continents. The constitution is secular; the national leaders are devout Muslims. A NATO member with troops in Afghanistan, albeit in non-combat roles, Turkey became a champion of Muslim anger over Israel's war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.Europe applauded the result, even though Turkey's bid to join the European Union has been reduced to a glimmer, dogged by opposition from France and Germany, Turkish skepticism and a dispute over the divided island of Cyprus, an EU member.Read the full story here.More about the elections and what it means here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:HinduIDF.The Two Faces of Islam :HIDDEN &MANIFEST.After the recent terrorist attack on America’s World Trade Center and Pentagon, there has been a very clear debate in the international media regarding the nature of Islam. We have seen the media change from the one extreme of being explicitly anti-Islamic, to the other, for the sake of presenting a political and human balance, of being pro-Moslem.Christianity very clearly teaches us to love all of our fellow humans- even our enemies- but it by no means tells us to become blind to reality and the truth, or to be mislead by misinformation. In the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, many Muslims (and non-Muslims driven by political ends) worldwide have attempted to present Islam as a religion of peace and love, wanting to distance it from those shameful and brutal occurrences… they say that there is no violence in the essence of Islam. It is obvious however that the perpetrators of these acts base their dependence on violence on clear and indisputable verses of the Quran, represented clearly in a statement by Osama Bin Laden on the CNN network. • American Rancher X – Part 1.I remember using the Jeep Cherokee’s door for cover, moving fast, hunched over, running zig-zag from tree to boulder to tree for cover, instinctively, as if I was still in the sniper hell of Ramadi. This was the very first time I had dismounted on a recon mission near the border in southern Arizona. Given that we were scouting an extremely rough, remote dirt road that we had been told was only used at night by Mexican cash mules heading south to Mexico, and given that it was surrounded by perfect hilltop sniper hides, this made sense. • HT:AmericanThinker. We Are The Ones Who'll Show You The Door. The citizen resistance to Obama's progressive agenda that quickened in the summer of 2009 will soon intersect with an electoral coda. On November 2, Democrats featured in the political ballet we've endured during the last two years will face the voters. Many of us are persuaded that Barack Obama carries a biased respect for America that runs short of love for country. We don't expect our elected leaders to display a greater patriotism than those they serve. But neither will we long abide leaders who display less. We notice these things. The collective jury has reached a decision on the current Congressional Democrats. If their losses are great enough come November, that same jury will immediately begin deliberating on the victorious Republicans. For now, though, the message for many Democrats in Congress is this.We are the ones who'll show you the door.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • French senate to vote today on burqa ban.The French senate is expected to vote Tuesday on a law banning any veils that cover the face -- including the burqa, the full-body covering worn by some Muslim women. The legislation was overwhelmingly approved by the lower house of parliament in July.French people back the ban by a margin of more than four to one, the Pew Global Attitudes Project found in a survey this spring. Some 82 percent of people polled approved of a ban, while 17 percent disapproved. That was the widest support the Washington-based think tank found in any of the five countries it surveyed.Clear majorities also backed burqa bans in Germany, Britain and Spain, while two out of three Americans opposed it, the survey found.Read the full story here.Updated :French Senate passes ban on full Muslim veils. The French Senate on Tuesday overwhelmingly passed a bill banning the burqa-style Islamic veil in public, but the leaders of both parliamentary houses said they had asked a special council to first ensure the measure passes constitutional muster amid concerns its tramples on religious freedoms. The Senate voted 246 to 1 Tuesday in favor of the bill, which has already passed in the lower chamber, the National Assembly. • Muslims Attack Hindus in India: A Warning For the West? Part I.A European colleague of mine lives and works in India. Recently, he came to visit. His story was unbelievable. For the last few years, every day, day after day, he, his wife, and his wife’s family have been harassed and attacked by Muslim marauders. Both his property and his medical clinic have been attacked; his Hindu wife and relatives have had their cows stolen and slaughtered, their outbuildings destroyed, their farm property taken over. The police would not help. He had to hire private security to guard his free clinic. Finally, Muslims attacked the clinic when it was filled with patients (including, of course, Muslim patients). At the last moment, before the clinic was entirely overrun, the police reluctantly came to his aid. He had to pay many bribes, pull many strings—and still, the matter is far from over.He did not want me to write about this. “It is simply too dangerous for a Hindu to describe, accurately, what Muslims are doing to us in our own country.” He assured me that neither the government nor the media could be counted on to “do the right thing here. The media will not say that Muslims are criminally aggressive. They are too afraid to say so. They know there will be rioting. It’s already happened.”But it is not that the politicians and the government agencies are asleep, it is the middle class Bengalis that are in deep slumber. The entire Hindu Bengali intelligentsia and culturally enriched Bengali society could not provide protection to one Muslim lady, Ms. Taslima Nasreen, a poet and an intellectual who dared to raise her voice against Islamic fundamentalism in Bangladesh and had to escape to West Bengal. But the West Bengal government was so afraid, that it refused to give protection to her.Islam a religion of peace?Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Historic Cyrus Cylinder Called 'A Stranger In Its Own Home'.Iran’s President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Sunday attended the unveiling in Tehran of the Cyrus Cylinder, which is on loan from the British Museum. The cylinder dates from the 6th Century BC and is thought by many to be the first charter of human rights. It will be on public display for four months. The unveiling took place at a ceremony at Iran’s National Museum that was turned into a platform for Ahmadinejad and his controversial chief of staff Esfandiari Rahim Mashaei to promote their brand of religious nationalism. Two men, one dressed as an Achaemenid soldier and the other as a member of the Basij, were also honored by Ahmadinejad with keffiyehs, described by official news agencies as “the symbol of the resistance and honor of the Iranian people. The move was criticized by some Iranians, who said it was ‘insulting," "humiliating,” and “painful" to watch.Blogger Enteghad (Criticism) questioned the move. "Why is Cyrus the Great, the symbol of Iran, being decorated with the symbol of another country -- Palestine?" asked the blogger.Another blogger, Andishe, was also angered by the “insulting and unwise” move, saying, “How can one mix two very different symbols that go against each other? Keffiyeh is the symbol of bloodshed, war, and terrorism in Palestine and Lebanon. Keffiyeh is the symbol of the Palestinians. Look at what Cyrus the Great and the Iranian civilization have to say and look at what Ahmadinejad and Velayar Faghih (the rule of the Supreme Jurist) have to say.”Others were outraged that Ahmadinejad, internationally criticized for human rights abuses in Iran, praised the cylinder as the embodiment of human values.."Hmmm somehow i don't think the cilinder will be heading towards Brittain in future.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Justice Stephen Breyer: Is Burning Koran 'Shouting Fire In A Crowded Theater?'.Last week we saw a Florida Pastor – with 30 members in his church – threaten to burn Korans which lead to riots and killings in Afghanistan. We also saw Democrats and Republicans alike assume that Pastor Jones had a Constitutional right to burn those Korans. But Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer told me on "GMA" that he's not prepared to conclude that -- in the internet age -- the First Amendment condones Koran burning. Last week President Obama told me that Pastor Jones could be cited for public burning – but that was “the extent of the laws that we have available to us.” Rep. John Boehner said on "GMA" that “just because you have a right to do something in America does not mean it is the right thing to do.”For Breyer, that right is not a foregone conclusion.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

And even with a Republican president in 2013, Democrats may still be able to filibuster a repeal bill. Instead, a Muslim set a Christian on fire, and then other Muslims attacked his father, stabbing him to death — this in a village where Christians make up maybe 3-4% of the total population. About 58 percent of voters, a much larger margin than expected, voted in favor of the government-proposed amendments to the Constitution crafted after a 1980 military coup in a referendum on Sunday, signaling strong support for the government led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.“We encourage the Turkish government to show the utmost transparency as well as a spirit of dialogue on the substance of this implementing legislation. We share the views of many in Turkey that today’s vote needs to be followed by other much needed reforms to address the remaining priorities in the area of fundamental rights, such as freedom of expression and freedom of religion.
